This coffee shop was on my way and I wanted to try out a new to me one. I was excited to try it out. It was pretty crowded in here when I stopped in. With many people eating at the tables they have inside. They also have like a side seating area too by the counter. The food here from what I saw people eating looked good. I did not eat though I got a regular iced latte with regular milk. It took a bit to make but as I said it was a bit crowded. When I got it I was disappointed at how it tasted. It was too milky for my liking it had no flavor to it. I think they use a coffee brand named panther. I have loved O Cafe for years!! And I still go almost every time I'm back in NY. I continue to swear by their bahia latte which is still the best mocha in my opinion. But I've noticed that the quality of their food is slipping.. On my last visit the paõ de queijo was stale and for the first time, my husband actually said the one I make at home is better. Brazilian cafe/coffeeshop in Chelsea. Items are priced quite high. The lentil salad was legit just lentils, chickpeas, feta and paprika. Way too expensive for the portion and not worth it. The lemon almond polenta cake was $6 and quite small. Delicious but expensive. No wifi, but there is the free NYClink that works quite well. They do have a lot of gluten free options (cheese bread). tbh I came here for the restroom in the back, which is clean enough though really tight to get into. But the espresso is quite good. They recently switched to Joe coffee (maybe temporarily?), so you can guess what that tastes like. I really like that if you order to stay, they'll make it in a real ceramic cup. It was really easy to find a place to sit around 2pm on a Saturday. We tried the Bahia Latte, which is more like a mocha. I came here to grab coffee with a friend on a Sunday morning. This is a cafe that serves Brazilian coffee and healthy dishes like acai bowls, smoothies, etc. I ordered a beetroot ginger latte. The latte had a strong ginger flavor surprisingly and the color was a pretty pink color from the beetroot. So why 3 stars? The service was a bit lacking. My friend ordered an acai smoothie and went to ask about it since it was taking a while. The batista gave her attitude even though my friend asked nicely and it was about 10 minutes after ordering. COVID-19 review: Solid cold brew, great ceramics, amazing pao de queijo!! Literally every time I see my trainer at the Complete Body on 14th St, I immediately walk to O after our session and get a pao. Such a satisfying, well-sized treat, and truly nothing better than when you get one fresh out of the oven. Delicious baked goods, hearty and healthy meals, and the best cup of coffee I have ever had. O Cafe is a decent little coffee shop sort of in between the West Village and Greenwich Village. It is Brazilian themed, hence the "O" in the name. I am not the biggest fan of their coffee, but that is personal preference. Their hot chocolate is amazing, though. They also have really good pastries, such as gluten-free chocolate brownies that are amazing. The main event pastry-with is the pao de quejo - or cheese bread. They are little cheese bread balls that are simply amazing. They are impossible to not stop eating. The staff is super friendly. They have places to sit but have often found it hard to find a seat. I don't know if I would come here just for the coffee, but the cheese bread is worth a trip. read more

After researching on good coffee shops where to work I came across O Cafe. The place is big enough yet cosy without feeling to cramped. They arranged wide tables to share but also have a section of cute tiny single tables just to fit your cup of coffee. On the side green plants make this place very European. There is a lack of plugs to charge your laptop so go with full battery. The croissant was ok, I had better and the coffee (cappuccino) was ok. This is why I have a 3. I've been here twice now, as it's one of my client's favorite meeting spots. It's always packed, but if you wait a bit you can usually find a spot. It's quiet enough to focus on work, but not so quiet that you can't have a conversation. The coffee is excellent (I've only had their regular coffee), and I love that they have oat milk! I also had one of their bowls, a delicious coconut rice with avocado, shaved coconut, and other veggies, served warm with a scrumptious, light sauce/dressing. The rest of the food menu looks fantastic, and I noticed lots of folks ordering their desserts, as well. It's a great spot to catch up on some work or meet with a friend (or in my case, a client!). I was meeting someone nearby and got there a little too early, but thankfully Yelp saved the day and recommended this place to me. The atmosphere is pretty small and cozy. They sell wine for $10 and have three different varieties. I tried one and, while it wasn't great, it was better quality than I expected from a place that is essentially a cafe. BEST ICED AMERICANO in the city thus far. It was perfect. So perfect as is I didn't even need to jazz it up with my usual scoch of milk. And gluten free baked goods? Yes please. The chewy cheese bun (Pao de Queijo) which is also GF, for only a $1+, I surrender. The staff is awesome. I'll tip to that! Their flavored brewed iced teas are amazingly refreshing and they happily will let you sample before you make a commitment to one. O Cafe oozes green and pretty much all their disposable goods are compostable. Even their walls, tables, chairs, and counter tops are from recycled wares.
