Update - August 2020 - YURI is still amazing. Recently needed my unit replaced. Pricing was very fair, but more than anything i was comforted that it was Yuri and his wife installing the unit. Work was completed quickly and on a schedule that worked for me. He went out of his way to locate the parts for the install - this way my family wouldn't have to wait a few days for a shipment. OrIginal - August 2017 - YURI IS AMAZING~!~!~. Our AC blower would not start up on the night of July 3rd and with two young children during a heat wave I was very worried. We called a few places and most either said they couldn't make it out till later in the week or didn't even return our calls. YURI called back within 20 minutes and was helpful on the phone working with us on when he could come by. He said he would come JULY 4th (YES ON A HOLIDAY) between 9am-12pm. He showed up at 8:15am and was appreciative of the opportunity that we called his company. He started to diagnose the issue and explained each step and answered all my questions thoroughly. He provided multiple options on how to address the issue (blower motor capacitor was faulty) - from just replacing the capacitor or replace the blower motor due to the age of the unit. He didn't try to push any one option - but he recommended what he thought would be the most logical and cost effective option (replace the capacitor -80$) and replace the blower motor (~400$) if/when it fails. Like most people you'd expect someone to take advantage of a family in a bad situation (I.e., family without an AC during a heat wave). But not YURI - I already plan to schedule another service call with him to do a routine system check up on the entire system. I would definitely be recommending him to friends and family. read more

Stop scrolling through other options and go with this business. You will not find someone as hard-working, dedicated and kind as Yuri. At 8pm on a Saturday we found a leak coming from our ac unit in the basement. I called several companies and left messages and did not feel comfortable with the company my home warranty suggested (due to terrible Yelp reviews). I came across this number for Yuri on Yelp and gave him a call, expecting to leave another message. He answered his phone immediately and insisted that he is happy to help, despite the time. I explained the issue and Yuri stated that it is very common and easy to resolve- AND that if I felt comfortable, he could walk me through some steps to diagnose if I can resolve it or if it is more complicated and requires a technician. Yuri explained the issue and had me text him photos of the unit. He diagnosed over the phone and stayed on the phone with me while I simply unclogged a pipe with some bleach. Just like magic this stopped the leak! Yuri stated that should any other issues come up, I could call him until 11pm or as early as 5am the following day and that he would provide same day service. I am beyond grateful for this man and his honesty and integrity. It is nearly impossible to find service like this these days. My wife and I were having issues with our cooling system blowing warm air this summer throughout the worst of the heat and humidity with 2 small kids in the house. After having difficulties with our home warranty company for a couple of months, we decided to we had enough and searched for help. I called Yuri because of his great reviews on here and was not disappointed. He was very flexible with his times so we did not have to wait long for him to come by the house, diagnose our system, and make recommendations for us. I can't say enough to express how much I appreciate Yuri for taking the time to genuinely talk with us, you will not find someone more honest in this business anywhere. We also had some old rusted ducts above our furnace which he was also able to replace in addition to our system, he is very handy! Yuri and his wife spent 2 days in our house installing the new system and replacing the bad portions of our air ducts, we are very pleased with the quality of the work and how well our air conditioning is working now. We were offered a very reasonable price relative to what would be asked for elsewhere. We would certainly request Yuri's services again in the future and recommend him to our friends and family. A fiend of mine recommended Yuri Salas after I found water coming out from the HVAC closet. I called him trying to make an appointment for the same day. He said he would include me in his schedule and the diagnostic fee would be $89, which seemed reasonable to me. Then he said, I'm going to ask you a few questions, it might be something simple and you might be able to fix it without me going there. He spent the following 30 minutes giving me instructions to inspect tubes and pipes, sending him pictures, and finally, there we found where the water was coming out, a tube out of place. He then gave me some tips to clean up the pipes and how to drain the water. All this at no charge. He was very patient and very kind. I'm so surprised that he took time from his work schedule and help me when he could have made some quick cash. Money wasn't important, as it was to help a stressed client. I usually call Sears for my HVAC, but now I'm sure that I have found a competent and honest person that I can trust in Yuri Salas! read more

Yuri saves the day again! I cannot say enough about the honesty and integrity of this man. I found out about Yuri through my community message board and I am so glad that I did. I have used Yuri on more than one occasion and he never disappoints. He installed a whole house steam humidifier for me last Winter. I also referred him to my Sister and he helped her out without taking advantage. I am renting out my townhouse and my tenant called me the other day to tell me the heat wasn't working. Yuri met me a few days later and fixed the problem in less than 20 minutes and the heat was back on. Could have probably told me some expensive part needed to be replaced like some other companies would, but not Yuri. Thats not how he rolls. He is truly one of the most honest men that I have met. My heater was not working and I called a few places to schedule a service. Yuri returned my call within a few minutes and offered to help over the phone to see what was wrong first or he could come to my house for service if I am not capable. He gave steps by steps to troubleshoot and I was able to identify that the gas valve was failing. He also suggested where to buy and what tools I need to replace it. It took a couple days for the part to arrive. I was able to disconnect the gas pipe but could not remove the pipes attach to the valve, it was very tight. I called and he offered to help again so I bring it to his shop and he removed it. I am able to install the new valve and we now have heat. Yuri is friendly, very knowledgeable and a great helping resource for the community. He is on my high list for recommendation to family and friends for any HVAC issue in the future. I can't say enough nice things about Yuri and the service provided. My electric bill has been waaayyy too high the last several months and I wanted to make sure my furnace was running efficiently in order to narrow down the problem. Called Yuri on a Monday afternoon and he was at my house at 7am the following day and would have come earlier if I wanted him to! Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it with the power bill situation), there is nothing wrong with my furnace except maybe the capacitor could run a little more efficiently. Yuri then proceeded to explain to me how to replace the part myself and offered to walk me through it over the phone so he wouldn't have to charge me for another visit if I decided to replace it. This was by far the best service I have received when it comes to home maintence of any kind. Our furnace stopped working, so I looked to yelp for a good recommended HVAC contractor and decided to contact Yuri. It was the best decision I could have made! Yuri was prompt, courteous, responsive and most importantly... HONEST! Yuri spent 30+ minutes of his (free) time on the phone troubleshooting the problem with my husband. He didn't want us to pay for him to come to the house if it was something we could fix ourselves. I looked online to find an HVAC mechanic on Saturday morning around 7:10am. I called Yuri about 7:15am and by 8:00am he was there. Yuri and his wife was very professional, honest and knowledgeable. I had mentioned to him over the phone that I was smelling something burnt coming from the vent of my HVAC unit. He explained to me on the phone that perhaps an insect had gotten into the HVAC unit and I should wait for a day or so until it burn itself out. I said to him I will feel much better if he came out and checked the unit out because I was not feeling safe running the unit. He came and opened the unit up and found a mice charred in there. My AC unit broke down on one of the hottest days. I found out HVAC/R Intelligence via online search. First, I read reviews and with almost all of them being 5 star I was bit apprehensive about it. But decided to call them anyways and left a message. Yuri called me back within half an hour. He agreed to come and check the unit same day even though it was late evening. Yuri and his wife came the same evening, quickly diagnosed the problem and explained to me about the cost upfront. They fixed the unit in very short time. He also checked for freon in both the units and told me that showed me the meter reading that the refrigerant levels are fine. They are very honest technicians. When my furnace motor went down, I called Yuri, and he was right on top of the problem. He came, did an analysis, knew exactly what was wrong, and offered different solutions to the problem. A massive snow storm was coming on a Tuesday. I called on a Saturday, and he said that all the stores are closed until Monday, but he'd do his best to install it before the snow storm comes. Monday morning comes, he finds the part and gets installing at 10:45am that very day! Amazing! Not only does Yuri know exactly what to do, but he provides the best customer service. I had a water leak during the summer in the HVAC system resulting in flooding that damaged the basement hardwood flooring. Yuri was very responsive, even though I contacted him at almost 10 pm. He was able to come out the next day and diagnosed the problem as the AC unit having a coolant leak. This resulted in ice accumulating in the p-trap. As a consequence, the waste water was spilling out. Since the unit was under warranty, Yuri and his wife picked up the replacement unit and even covered the cost out of pocket as a result of confusion with the AC company. He came around 8 pm to replace the unit and was able to get the AC back on. It had been a miserably hot couple of days, but I couldn't have been. happier with the service. Yuri and his wife are the best. I've been calling Yuri for advise since last summer for some issues with my HVAC. He was always very patient and tried to help me out through phone without any charges. Last week, our AC stopped working so he came over to deliver the contract for us to sign before he can order the new machine. Then a miracle happened, he did a check up on the fan and fixed it in 5 minutes. He was being honest telling us that it can stop working again but we should not feel the pressure to get it replaced immediately just because he was here. I had an unexpected surprise when my AC started pumping out warm air and the outside temperature was 90+. I didn't really know what to do but when I called Yuri he walked me through checking on the easy fixes. He did this over the phone at no cost and was so nice. I ended up having him come out to check everything out after none of the easy solutions fixed the problem. I live in Germantown, MD. Im not from around here , but i always like to know someone i can trust when fixing my things, Yuri is that kind of guy. A couple days ago on the last two hot days of the season, my AC stops working. I called a few places, but no one could be here the same day. I called yuri and he said he could be there in an hour. After a few hours I realized I texted the wrong number, so I immediately texted him back around 1pm. And he said he was booked for the rest of the day, but he could be there at 6:30 am the next day.
