I've been told I needed a new HVAC unit for about 5 years from other companies and had been putting it off. After babysitting my old unit for so long I finally had to replace it as the heater wouldn't stop tripping the breaker and the heat exchanger was badly rusted. I got multiple quotes from some large companies and they were more than I wanted to pay, so I decided to get one more and that was from Scott at HVACRMEDIC. I reached out to him on yelp and he responded very quickly. He came to my house the next morning, listened to all my questions and got me a quote shortly after with three options. He let me know there was a newer brand called Ecoer that would get the most bang for your buck! I decided to go with this option over the Bryant to get the inverter variable speeds in a packaged unit heat pump. Once I decided on the Ecoer unit Scott got me scheduled for the install very quickly so I could get the rebates that were only available until the end of the year! The day of the install they showed up on time and got right to work unhooking the old gas unit. During the install I had a lot of questions and they answered all of them. When the electricity was being installed, I had asked if it could be ran a certain way along the wall. The new wire was too short for this. Instead of telling me he couldn't do it, he ran to home depot, got a longer wire and custom cut to how I wanted. Inside the house they needed to cut into my wall to run new thermostat wire to a new location. They wore covers over their shoes, put plastic down before drilling, patched the hole up nicely and then vacuumed up! Also I wanted the Ecoer branded thermostat which wasn't stocked locally instead of an ecobee. Scott said no problem I'll get it for you. He got it on order for me and installed a temporary thermostat until it arrived. About a week after the install Scott came back to install my new Ecoer thermostat. He also spent time with me going through and testing out the different adjustable options to have the motor run at variable speeds. After this a few days later I noticed a humming noise coming from my return vent. Scott came back out and once again spent hours checking all the settings on the unit and then figuring out the increased air flow from the higher motor speeds was causing some restriction at my return register. Instead of telling me that's just the way it is or that's normal, he fixed it. It was located up high in my stairway, not easy to get to, but he climbed up his ladder and took the time to bend every angled fin straight on the register and it instantly got rid of the humming sound! I thought it was a temporary fix and I would need to buy a higher flow register cover, but he bent every one so neatly that it looks like it's supposed to be that way. I can't imagine one of the bigger companies spending so much time to go over the settings, trying things out and the detail of work that Scott did. This went from something I was dreading to ending up being a great experience. Even with some changes on install day and special ordering me what I wanted he kept the original estimate amount. Scott does not pressure people into buying new units and will fix someone's unit if he can. In my case I contacted him after already deciding I wanted a new unit for sure. I plan on having HVACRMEDIC come out to do my twice a year maintenance / tune-ups on the new unit. I also have peace on mind since the Ecoer unit comes with a 10 year parts & labor warranty! I would recommend HVACRMEDIC if you need any repairs done quickly or if you're interested in a new unit! read more

I hired him because he was a local business ( not a national system) and that his reviews were positive. I write this 1st review because his first time fee, although higher than national companies by 20 dollars was well worth the extra money spent. When I first contacted Scott on the afternoon of June 28th, he was friendly and initially responsive. I needed the A/C diagnosed (and repaired) soon since I was in the process of selling my home. He stated he would try and stop by to diagnose the issue that evening. Late that evening he texted me letting me know he would stop by the next evening (June 29th). Cool - not a problem, I thought. I never received a call or text on June 29th and so I called that evening and left a voicemail to ask if he was able to diagnose the A/C, but he did not get back to me that evening. I texted him the following morning on June 30th and waited a few hours for a response, but did not receive one, so I decided I needed to find another HVAC company. When I finally found another HVAC company to help with my A/C issue, I texted him one last time to let him know. I normally would have just moved on, but since I gave him the lockbox code to my home, I didn't want him to stop by the house. He finally responded and stated that he had lost sight of my appointment. Disappointing. My garage ducts were not fire safe. I called Scott; he came over the same day to look at the situation. The next day Scott and his worker showed up and did the repairs. Last month my AC went out and I searched online for a HVAC company that could fix it. For better or worse, I relied exclusively on Yelp and had quite a few estimates from companies with high ratings. All of them, unsurprisingly, told me I needed a new system and there was no other option; however, HVACRMEDIC gave me options and explained each option. HVACRMEDIC was the most thorough, knowledgeable, responsive company. The owner, Scott, took his time assessing the problem, explaining my options, and answered all of my questions. The first question I asked myself was, "How can I be sure he's not ripping me off and that he actually knows what he's talking about?" Well, after having several companies come out to my home for an estimate, I quickly discovered that HVACRMEDIC was the one I could trust. I'm super critical and suspicious of companies by nature so I asked a ton of questions and did what little research I could, and compared what Scott said with other companies.
