Place has changed. Menu has changed (not positively IMO). Food comes out much slower, curtains in the corridor to the bathroom are very dirty and low so you have no choice but to touch them so they don't end up in your face. Waited for my soup forever after they messed up the order and once it finally came the guy had his thumb with dirt under his nail on the inside of my bowl. We visited Hwaro for the first time to celebrate my son's birthday with a party of 8. First off, the food was really good. The meat quality was great, everything tasted fresh, and there was a nice variety of options. We enjoyed what we were able to try and the overall flavor definitely stood out compared to other AYCE Korean BBQ spots. That said, the experience itself felt very rushed, which really impacted our visit. Since it was our first time, we were not informed about a strict 60-minute ordering limit until near the end of our meal when the server came over and told us it was our "last call." After that, it felt very pressured, especially with the server standing nearby while we were trying to quickly finish ordering. With a party of 8 sharing just one grill, it was already difficult to cook and eat at a normal pace, and the time restriction made it even more challenging to enjoy the meal comfortably. Most of the time felt like we were rushing rather than actually enjoying a birthday dinner together. Because of that, we left feeling like we didn't really get our money's worth, even though the food itself was good. The premium meats were incredibly delicious, and the variety ensured there was something for everyone. The sushi was fresh and expertly prepared, adding a wonderful variety to the meal. Still one of our go-to KBBQ spots after all these years. I have a good list of some of my favs, and hwaro and hwaro 2 are still on the list. Although the location can be tough to park in because of the many amazing restaurants in the area, we still like to come here for some good KBBQ. My husband and I, as well as my friends and I have come here often to have some good kbbq when we're craving or in the mood. They have a variety of options for meat and seafood, as well as banchan and other appetizers and side dishes. Their menu consists of different specialty meats which you can order at a higher AYCE price point, but I think is well worth it. The service is friendly and quite fast, noticing and offering grill changes when necessary, and constantly walking around to take your order. The space itself is medium sized and clean, which is good! I haven't had to wait too long to be seated :) overall, good standard kbbq that I can rely on when craving kbbq. read more

Their spicy tofu soup is delicious rich depth of flavor, and tastes like very soft and homemade tofu. Beef bulgogi is seasoned well and very tender, beef brisket is fresh and barbecue's well and is delicious! chicken is seasoned well with Korean spices and marinade. Service is excellent. I'm a fan of Hwaro 2, their other location. I decided to give this location a try and have mixed reviews. The service was amazing! Very attentive and friendly. Definitely "service with a smile". I usually don't change restaurants often, but today I decided to give Hwaro another chance after not coming here for a very long time. Unfortunately, this experience really ruined what had been a great day for me. it ended with a very disappointing dinner. From the moment I walked in, things felt off. A staff member led me to my table without greeting me at all, simply dropped the menu, and walked away without asking anything or offering any recommendations. When the food arrived, the taste was okay. nothing special, but edible. What truly made the experience uncomfortable was the atmosphere. It felt like everyone working there was irritated or upset. Dishes were being thrown around loudly, and it was very unpleasant. In particular, the female server assigned to our table looked extremely frustrated. She cleared our dishes aggressively and even threw plates right in front of me. She also kept walking around holding her phone. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it really affected the dining experience. However, I do want to give credit to one of her coworkers. She was smiling all night and treated us kindly. If it weren't for him, this night would have felt even worse. Overall, I'm really disappointed. I regret choosing this place instead of going to my favorite restaurant tonight. The atmosphere and service were very poor, and I don't think I will be coming back. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves both service and attitude in the future. read more

Korean BBQ and sushi are at this spot in Chinatown Las Vegas named Hwaro. This was my first time here and this was the first meal we had when I got into Vegas. We picked this place because the restaurant was open until 2:00 am. When we walked in at 12 we were seated right away and the place still had people inside enjoying a meal. The service was super quick and fast. This is an AYCE spot so you can order as much as you guys want but in a time frame of 90 mins. We tried their sushi items as well and considered them to be quite decent for an AYCE spot. The only thing I would say is some of the beef items that were seasoned with some type of sauce tasted a little bit off on flavor. Clean, well-ventilated, and good quality meats! Our server, Beatriz, was attentive with changing out our grills and taking our order for more food. There is a wide variety of meats on the menu for one set price. A lot of sides and appetizers and even sushi. My favorite is the emperor's kalbi. Came in late evening and was quoted a 30 minute wait time. The place was absolutely packed. Completely worth the wait. Princess sat us and Derek help take our order. Both were so professional and created a fun atmosphere. Derek offered many recommendations. We ordered edamame, miso soup and the sh*t to start. We had the yakiniku ribeye, soy honey pork toro, brisket, and bulgolgi for bbq. Sushi we had the orange blossom roll, garlic salmon and tuna. The quality of the food is consistently great, with a fantastic selection of meats, sides, and sushi options. Per their staff, they wanted to pivot towards a Japanese style offering versus Korean. Service: Made a reservation via Yelp for my family of 4. Arrived at the location when we were 3rd on the queue; called within 10 minutes. Pleasantly greeted upon entry and upon seating. Wait staff was nice and helpful. 5 of 5 stars Food/Offering: Arrived early dinner and was offered only one dining option: $33.95. We settled for the usual like the Wheel of Fortune bonus round (RSTLN E) which was bulgogi, pork belly, brisket, short rib. There were some limit 1 per person options on the menu which we ordered from as well. Usual sides you see at a KBBQ place like rice paper, kim chi, seaweed salad, etc are not offered. The food turnover during the reorder was very fast. Water refill was on point. Yuzu sorbet was tart and helped offset the grill taste in my mouth. 5 of 5 stars Overall: The place is bigger than most bbq spots that I've been to and ventilation (which matters to me) was very good; didn't smell too much like bbq upon leaving. Only gripe I have is that I'm not a fan of the 18% automatic tip for my party of just 4. For this visit, I'm ok with the 18% (probably worth 20%) but for me as a consumer, I would like to have more control of the bill. Haven't been back since they remodeled this location. We always go to Hwaro 2. So glad my husband & I decided to try it out again. Let me say, it did not disappoint. Came around 12pm on a Monday & it wasn't busy considering it was lunch time. Our service was great provided by Chi. She was pleasant & very attentive to us. Really enjoyed her services as we didn't feel rushed or a bother (which sometimes some KBBQ places make us feel that way). The restaurant was very nice, clean & modern. We couldn't get over how different it looked & we're in awe. The food was great! Perfect cuts of meat & portions. Can't say enough good things about this visit & we already can't wait to go back! Would definitely just multiple order the top 4 meats. The Galbi was too fatty for me. The sides and cooked food were tasty. Do not sleep on the Hwaro sauce and potstickers. I'm not the kind of person to ever leave reviews for a restaurant, and I'm not trying to be dramatic when I say I don't know where to start with how amazing Hwaro is. To the appetizers, the premium choices of meats, and even the sushi. They have cool sides that you don't find at many KBBQ places like garlic butter, ginger, and corn cheese. The shrimp tempura was the best I've ever had and they also have filet mignon which was just incredible. I can't say enough good things about this place.
