This casual spot will satisfy your sushi and hotpot craving. Whenever you want to order, wave down your server. They have a good selection of nigiri. I enjoyed the seared ones the most. They have a lot of different rolls to choose from: simple minimal sauce - super saucy ones. The meat quality for the shabu could be a little better but over all not bad. They have a lot of toppings available at the self serve area like udon, vegetables, potato noodles. Etc

We visited Sushi and Shabu Time for a late lunch during EDC weekend because we saw that they had an AYCE option (about $35 per person). Tips are automatically included for any parties with 6 or more people. Overall, we enjoyed the sushi option more than the shabu. It seems like other parties also preferred sushi as well, as the sushi chef was backed up on orders. Our favorites were the seared salmon and tuna nigiri as well as the yuzu yellowtail. The shabu broths, meats, and toppings were decent but nothing special. While the tonkotsu broth was nice and light, the mala soup wasn't spicy enough for our liking. This was a filling meal and I would recommend it to any groups that are hungry and want to be satiated in advance of any music festival or long nights out.

Truly delicious and worth the price, with many ayce places being $50 this whole meal was only $33! My favorite were the meat and the seafood although some of the sushi rolls were not that favorable. Service was fast and the ambiance was clean and nice.

What a deal!! $33 for all you can eat hot pot and sushi!! Came in for a late night bite and it was so good!! The server was super friendly and so helpful. She let us go to town and order one of everything off the rip lol I swear we had one of everything!! There is a sides and sauce bar with everything you would need or want for hot pot and sushi. It was a cool little vibe and the music was good too!!

Its always so chill and just easy going here! They have good meat and a decent selection of sushi. Its 22$ with hot pot only and starts at 27$ for hot pot AND sushi. Ive come over a dozen times but the experience is great every time bc of our server Elaine. Shes adorable and fast! She gets our meats quickly and I never have to wait for anything i need. Shes a pleasure to have as our server always!

    Baked Salmon = no KrAb!

I ordered (DoorDash) the Truffle Garlic Tuna Carpaccio, Bunny Roll, Baked Salmon Roll, and Blowjob Roll--all of these items do not have KrAb as an ingredient, and that I was trying to avoid. I do not like KrAb in my sushi. 1) I was missing a roll, 2) the other two rolls had a BUNCH of KrAb in them, and 3) The Garlic Tuna Carpaccio was not very tasty either. If for some reason, these items were not available, I would have really appreciated it if my order had just been cancelled, instead of just sending "whatever." I will not be eating this now, nor ordering from here in the future.

We got kicked out of 888 KBBQ and JBBQ because their waitlist was too long. We came here and wow what a solid surprise. The food and service was awesome. Our server James literally came out with all our food supa dupa fast and gave us good recommendations. We stacked up so many Volcano Shrimps bc James was so quick. Shout out James for making this experience awesome.

What a great combination! Sushi and shabu! Came for lunch. Was seated away. Great price for AYCE. Danny was friendly and asking if we needed anything! Great quality for meats for shabu. The sushi rolls were huge and flavorful. There are plenty on tables. I am sure it gets crowded at night and on the weekends! Great place for groups! Loved the lobster rolls! We will be back!

Long story short I will definitely not return. Probably the worst meat I've ever gotten from any AYCE restaurant. I saw other people's pictures prior to coming and the cuts were decent for the price but when we got our meats it was horrible. I should've taken a picture but our table was so crowded; we were in a booth with 6 people sharing one hot pot. The kimchi, fries and ube ice cream are probably the best thing there. Didn't care for the sushi too much because most of all the rolls consists of tempura or imitation crab. We waited 30 min on a Thursday night at 9pm. There's an automatic service charge for parties 6+ which is in the menu in fine print, but they don't inform you about anytime during dining. Just wish they had the courtesy to inform us. Even for the price I don't think it's worth it. The service is pretty bad. We didn't get our appetizers until 45 minutes after ordering and some things never came out, even after the waitress said she would make sure they did. Other appetizers came out twice so it got sent back to the kitchen. A single bowl of rice took 30 min to come out, with a reminder. Yeah I get it maybe it was a busy night but everything felt disorganized. After 10 minutes of sitting down another employee came by and was confused asking us, "you haven't gotten your pot yet?" There were some nice employees that tried to make our experience better so I'll give them a star for that.

first timer and everything was delicious! Dan was really nice and answered any questions we had. We came at a good time right when they opened. I love the options of having both sushi and shabu: two of my favorite foods!

I've been wanting to come here for some time now. The ratings are great. We entered and were greeted immediately with a kind a patient person. I say this because we just wanted sushi but because of the servicer, he convinced us to get the shabu shabu and menu B because it is worth the options of food. He was absolutely right. We ordered lots of little items that were fresh and delicious. Except the salmon, it was way to fishy and the spicy tuna handball had a funny taste. However, all the other sushi items were cut big and tasted great. The shabu was okay. I know we are suppose to add flavors and make it our own but it really was a blan tonkotsu. I do like the option for the fixings and different noodles. The place itself was big and comfy. Our waiter was truly the best. He was personable. We enjoyed talking to him.

    Is all you can eat?

    Yes, AYCE

Do they have private room that could fit 12?

We do have big tables but not private room. Sorry!

How much is it to get AYCE sushi and hot pot?? Im confused a little in how it works. Is the menu limited? Is it both hot pot and sushi AYCE at the same time?

There are 3 different options. The first option is 26.95. That is lunch price M-TH and also after 9. This option comes with the HOT POT. However, you get 6 of the meats, not all. You also get almost all the sushi as well, excluding special… Read more

Do they cater AYCE for 1 person only?

Yes you can ayce for 1 person. I go there alone all the time. I go to most places alone in fact and I always do ayce.

Do you really limit 45 min during lunch time? Hope it's not true because that's not very family friendly at all

Time limit is 90 min for lunch or dinner

Is this place different from Sushi Time? Can you just order sushi, or do you have to order shabu shabu too?

You can just order sushi as well. We are sushi Time its just we added hotpot in our A.Y.C.E

    Do they do half rolls?

Yes they do. We were able to taste almost 12 different dishes!!! All delicious!

Drink wise: 10/10 would recommend the Strawberry Lychee Soju cocktail Nicole's customer service was on point during my family's most recent visit. Everything we ordered came out at a reasonable time and our water jug was proactively refilled without us having to flag her down. She even greeted my dad for Father's Day! That was a lovely touch, seeing as we came in right before the dinner rush. Coming from a brief food service background myself and in the interest of mindfulness, I try to make ordering a lot of items as easy as possible. It helps a to have a server that's personable and attentive. We're so thankful for her taking such great care of us! Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!
