This was on my list for a while. Finally stopped here early December on a Tuesday for some tacos and went with a variety of meats. While the tacos and quesadillas are small, they pack a huge punch in terms of flavor and taste. There's no bad protein they serve, all are delicious in those corn tortillas with the onions and cilantro packed in. Drizzle it with that green salsa and squeeze that lime to take it to another level. Favorite proteins are the trompo, barbacoa, campechanos, boss, and tripa. The quesadillas are basically the tacos with melted cheese; worth paying the extra 50 cents for it. I enjoyed the tacos so much I came back every day while I was in the area. And I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in the vacinity. Cash only, they are packed nicely in small paper trays and wrapped well. Near a gas station so you can use the ATM there if you are cashless. Not a lot of seating- only two picnic tables but there was a line of people who didn't mind. I didn't mind either. Great prices and amazing taste- the salsas were fresh and tasty. A little on the small side but not small on flavor. A man in line said he drives 30 mins and passes by other taco trucks in order to eat here. This place is a solid late night option ... Number one, in Cypress there's not a lot of late-night options available. So getting good, fresh made grub is a real struggle! Number two, when you're really "hangry" (hungry leaning towards angry) you don't wanna run into people who are grumpy themselves. Hospitality and pleasant smiles (and good music) are easy to find here. Number three, these tacos are flavorful (mucho sabor) and there's lots of variety from pork to chicken to beef and etc. This late night spot is a go to in my book! The food is delicious. I was there just a week and a half ago. The tacos were small tortillas, but still a reasonable size - and they were properly filled with meat cheese onions and cilantro. They were really good. ----Today I buy 20 tacos I pay $34 for 20 super tiny baby tacos. The tortilla was a 3 inch circumference. Who wants to eat a 3-inch taco. Then they forgot my cheese which I paid $7.50 extra for. I don't know what they're trying to do but they need to go back to their normal size tacos. They didn't even put my taco together. We came here out of nowhere since out other plans failed but it was worth it. The tacos are super cheap to begin. All tacos $1, so don't expect anything big. I read a lot of comments about the dryness, but the point of street tacos is to eat it with their chile. Specially the creamy verde sauce! Super good. If you aren't eating it with that, then you aren't really eating a taco haha. We had their quesadillas, tacos and corn. All super good and definitely the best one in the hwy 6 area (sugarland to 290). Only complaint would be more salsa and limes! But aside from that, a pretty great street taco. Just moved to Houston from Austin where it's home of local food (taco) trucks literally everywhere in my hometown so my standards are high. Found this spot and instantly fell in love! Tacos were legit $1 (on the mini tortillas), the service is fast, and the seating area is great & open. They only take cash too, fyi. Probably best chorizo I've had, not that I'm the chorizo expert. Trompo was also very tasty. Parking is a challenge. Don't block the pumps waiting on your food, or the entrances/exits. I haven't bought from here in a while, but usually when I go the tacos taste good, but they always fuck up my stomach (it's not the cheese I say no cheese) but yesterday when I ordered chicken and beef tacos on flower for my wife and I. We got home and started eating. Soon as she ate the 2nd taco and looked under the aluminum foil, there was a little unknown bug crawling around under it. It was a late Saturday night and after an 80's theme skating party my mini-me and I were craving some late nite bites. We did not want to settle with a fast-food chain or a Denny's, waffle house, etc. We wanted some Food truck Tacos! To our luck, we were saved by HWY 6 Tacos, I was low on cash and worried that they wouldn't take my card since a lot of establishments don't take cards but when I seen that my hefty $20 bill was going to be able to cover our 5 tacos, quesadilla, and charro beans I still had change left over! Yes their tacos are small, they are the "Mexican street tacos" so don't expect these large California tacos but we were ok with it. My daughter did not like the pastor tacos but LOVED the bistek and tripa tacos after she ate my charro beans. The bistek quesadilla was my personal favorite and for an additional 20 cents I did not mind at all, even the cheese was delicious. That night they only had green salsa, we are typically red salsa eaters but by that time we didn't care we just wanted salsa on our tacos and I will say that their green salsa was amazing! Excellent tacos. I ordered the al pastor and beef fajita in corn tortillas. It comes with onions and cilantro and you can pay extra if you want cheese. You can choose corn or flour, but I think flour tacos are a little bit more than the corn ones. Corn tacos are $1. The size of each taco is about the size of your palm. It is cooked right in front of you and they also have fresh charro beans pre-cooked at home and kept warm in a slow cooker. The charro beans are delicious. I think they used two or three types of beans and a lot of fresh cilantro and tomatoes. It's almost like a stew and not greasy! They also have three different types of salsa you can request. I asked for two of each to try. The hottest is a red-sauce, and it definitely gives a kick to your palate. The medium and mild are both green-sauce salsas. One is an avocado base and the other cucumber. Regardless, all three are a must try! Location is in the Shell parking lot, and it gets busy FAST. We showed up on a Sunday late afternoon around 7, and the line starting picking up. They only take cash so come prepared.
