Had a red-eye to Boston. I thought I would get rest on my flight. Did I? No because there was a baby that wouldn't stop crying the whole flight over to Boston. To make matters worse, I was sick. I opted for the early check in and upgrade at check out (if avail). As soon as I landed, I headed to the hotel to see if I could check-in early bc I needed to take Nyquil and rest. Trang at the front desk informed me that early check-in wasn't available, BUT she'd call me as soon as a room was available. She took my number down and checked my luggage in. Thereafter, I went to a nearby Equinox to shower while I waited for my room. Low and behold, I get a call from the manager around noon letting me know my room is available. Note that there was a PAX event that weekend. You get the point. Trang totally went out of the way to help me out. Trang has converted me from a Starwood loyalist to a Hyatt costumer for life. When someone shows you a bit of humanity when you're at your lowest point means a lot to me. Especially in a day where excellent customer service isn't offered to the general public. The entire Hyatt staff was cordial except the Russian or Eastern European chick. Regardless, they made my trip amazing. The room: It's pretty much standard even though I was upgraded to a corner room. The hallway light bulb was broken, and their toiletries smell weird. I much prefer Westin's or W's. The room was clean and the bed was heavenly. But Starwood's heavenly beds are always much better. The caveat is I had double booked a room at the Hilton Financial district. Now that was a complete 180 experience. They were rude, inconsiderate and the rooms were dirty. AND they didn't have flat screen TV's. Are we in 1999 Hilton? read more

Great for business and pleasure trips as it's in the Chinatown section of Boston near the Financial District but also easy walking distance to the museums, aquarium, and the parks. Food options are pretty limited come evening time so prepare for a cab or some down and dirty Asian in Chinatown. The hotel food options are above average quality but high priced for the quality - can do better at the same price elsewhere! read more

Just came back from our stay. Pros: Definitely walking distance to everything. If you are a city person, you know what it's like walking around so yes everything is about 20-30 mins away but remember to add another 20-30 mins to get to your next stop and back to your hotel. (for example this was 1 day: 25 mins to TD Garden, another 20 mins to Northend, another 20 mins to the Aquarium/Waterfront and another 20 mins to Quincy Market and another 20 back to hotel so do pace yourself and if it's as hot as it was a week ago (90's), take hydration breaks! feet hurt but it was fun) We wanted to walk but you can take the subway or pay for the trolley or sightseeing buses to help with getting around. Hotel service was great. Front desk, housecleaning and especially the frontdoor man. Location was great too. as I said, can walk everywhere. Chinatown is also just around the corner. The other corner you will find Boston Coffee, Dunkin Donuts and CVS and 7-11 are close by. The Paramount Theatre is right there too if you are watching a show. Rooms were nice. Beds very comfy and air conditioner worked great! Gym was super! Better than most other hotels. Had 4 of each (treadmill, bikes and eliptical) 2 rowing machines. plenty of free weights and nice selection of weight machines. Pool was a good size too (didn't try though) Nice clean and professional staff and appearance. Cons: There is construction outside and still some inside but it didn't bug us that much. There are 2 lobbies which is odd. Had to wait for the elevator to take us downstairs so we can get out so there were times it was a wait but not too long. $20 charge if we use their frig? that was a first. what if we wanted to put a leftover dessert or just keep our drinks cold? oh well. wifi is not free but that's not unusual for hotels of this level which I feel should change. I mean really? McDonald's gives you free wi-fi. The disinfecting wipes were not easily located. Would be nice to have them on both sides of the room (yes I'm just picking now!) Parking is expensive but we are in Boston so not surprised. Overall we had a very nice stay. Great location and service! read more

I liked this hotel because it was convenient to get to my work place from there. I travel every week from New York, so I was hoping to make this my regular home away from home. On the third week of my stay there, I was horrified to find strands of hair on the shower head. I complained to them about it and the front desk person, Michael, put me in a nicer room which was very clean. The next week, the refrigerator in the room I was given didn't work and there were stains on the bathroom walls in the tub area. I didn't complain 'cos I was too tired but I had decided to change hotels and started staying at Taj Boston on Arlington St. After 3 weeks of staying at the Taj, because it was a little inconvenient commute to work from there, I thought I'll give Hyatt another chance. So, today, I walked up to the front desk, where I was greeted by the manager Samantha. I made clear to her about the grievances I had faced during my stay at the Hyatt in the last two months and even though she was acknowledging my concerns it seemed like she just wanted to get done with assigning me a room and move on to the next guest. She said she'll put me up in a nice room and I should have no complaints with it. I walked into the room and it wasn't any nice room or an upgrade like the way she had made it seem. It was the room they had probably already assigned to me. Anyway, I walked into the room and checked out the windows and they were dirty. It looked like they were dirty from the outside so I didn't care much. Then I went to the bathroom and the toilet bowl had definitely not been cleaned thoroughly. I called the front desk and they sent the House Keeping manager, Maggie, who acknowledged that it was a little dirty, so they moved me to another room. This room had similar standards of hygiene as there was a stain on the toilet bowl that just wouldn't come off. I tried and then Maggie tried but the stain remained. Then I get a call from Samantha, asking me if I'd like a $50 credit on my account that I can use. I said, no thank you, I just need a nicer room if you can get that for me. I asked her to get Maggie to check the room for me before they ask me to move again and she said she will do that. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I get a call from Maggie to come check another room. I go up there and she had cleaned the bathroom herself just to be sure about the cleanliness, but the room itself was a much smaller room compared to my room. I wanted to check out of the hotel and go find another place to stay but I decided to stick with it because I had traveled early in the morning and was too tired. It has been highly disappointing on 4 different occasions and the current one being the worst because despite talking to her twice, Samantha, the manager, doesn't seem to want to listen or help out in any way. I have several more weeks of reservations at this place through to the end of the year, but, I might cancel all of them and just move back to the Taj Hotel, which, even though is a little far off from my work place, is a hotel where they really take care of their guests well. I have pictures of the dirty stuff in the room that I spoke about above but I don't know if I should post them or not. Because, I don't want to hurt the reputation of Hyatt at other locations just because of this location's short-comings. Very disappointed with Hyatt and especially with the manager, Samantha, who could do nothing but offer a $50 credit, that I didn't accept as I felt offended by it, and for the way she ignored my concerns during our first conversation. read more

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency when visiting Boston in January before I moved back to the city from San Diego. My experience with the hotel staff was absolutely remarkable. In the course of my stay, I somehow managed to fall and lacerate my L knee falling out of the shower! While I was bleeding and unable to get to my feet, I reached for the hotel phone and dialed zero for the hotel operator. Hotel security, the on-duty manager and several others assisted by calling Boston EMS and assisting them in getting to my room. While I was being wheeled out on a gurney I asked for ice cream and late check out. The management OBLIGED! They let me check out at 5PM instead of noon and when the person at the front desk noticed that I had not yet consumed ice cream that she was supposed to comp from my bill! She made me go have my ice cream in the lounge before she processed my check-out! The elevators are a little weird, however: my room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure I still had the opportunity to rest after returning from the emergency department at Tufts Medical Center, which incidentally is just up the street from the hotel. read more

I've never stay in a hotel that had sooo many contradictions ! Pros - super clean rooms, great beds, powerful shower heads. cons - no free ANYTHING. I mean wifi, parking, breakfast .... Normal amenities that one expects from other large chains. First, it's a great location. You are close to the convention center, commons, financial district. All around business travel should check in here. Plus the customer service is to notch from bell men to front desk they accommodate your every need. My room had a smoke smell from a pair the previous night and AJ at the front desk went over and above to get my room switched. Also the toothpaste on the bathroom is always a plus for me. Had the absolutely worst hotel experience in my life at the Hyatt Regency. Upon arrival, we had immediately gone to check in and were told that our room wasn't available anymore. When we asked what we can do in the mean time - the young woman at front desk offered us no solutions, but to sit down with our luggage in the lobby until a "room becomes available" we had arrived at 6:30 pm when check in was at 4 pm, after traveling 2+ hours from another state. We argued back and forth for our OWN room back which we paid for and finally we given another room - much to the disappointment of the front desk woman. We were given no instructions about breakfast and amenities, she basically gave us our key and didn't help with the other questions we had. After moving all of our luggage in we were offered a 50 dollar credit and some credit for clam chowder. Absolutely unacceptable! Every time we wanted to use the credit for something useful - parking or room service for example - it was unavailable. The kitchen was closed for cleaning so we couldn't do that, and valet was owned by another company. No one knew what we can do to use our credit and we ended up getting a few snacks on our way out of the hotel. The only people that were helpful were the valet men and the concierge. For that I'll give it one star. But I will NOT be returning to this hotel and Ill make sure my friends and family will not ever. So incredibly disappointing, unprofessional and appalling. read more

My boyfriend planned a night out on the town for him and I. He booked us a room at the Hyatt Regency in China town. He worked with the consierge to add a romantic touch to the room. My boyfriend asked the consierge for suggestions on a bottle of champaigne and for a single red rose. The consierge promised to take care the details. When we got to the hotel everyone from the vallet to the consierge to the extreamely attentive staff serving the breakfast buffet, were just five star! The consierge's choice in champagne was delicious and fairly priced, the single red rose was presented in floral wrap and surrounded down to the stem with rose petals. So romantic and tastefully done. I highly recommend this elegant and modern hotel to anyone looking to enjoy the city in style! NO CANCELLATIONS EVEN A MONTH AND A HALF PRIOR, PAID A FULL WEEK WITHOUT EVEN STAYING THERE!!!!! I made reservations here online for a business seminar two months in advance. Soon thereafter, due to work scheduling, I could not make it so I decided to cancel. Little did I know, the reservation I made included a small print statement of full pre-payment with no cancellations. I spoke to two people there and discussed my situation and noted the early notice to cancel but they would not bulge. No customer service whatsoever and sounded like some cheap motel receptions. WHAT A SCAM! I realize the economy is unstable but still, they have no effort to live up to their name, or what I USED TO think of their standards. Nice hotel experience. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom shower had good water pressure, staff very friendly and helpful, pool and gym area was very nice, free coffee and tea in the mornings downstairs, very good location--two minutes to shops and subway. . Standard check out time is 12, which seems very reasonable to me. We didn't try the restaurant - it does look a bit pricey. Only (small) negatives for me were the two different elevators and that they charge $10 a day for internet. That's ridiculous to me. read more

Stayed here for one year anny with my girlfriend. When I made the reservation I was told parking was included in the price which was great. However, when I went into the parking garage (that also offers public parking) I wasn't sure if I should just park in public spots or go to the valet. Ended up going into the public spots thinking I would be reimbursed but I was wrong. After checking in I was told to bring my car to valet but I had to pay for the 25mins I was in the public part of garage and that was $13. Annoying start to the trip. The receptionist was helpful however there didn't seem to be a structure of any lines taking place so that was a little weird. The reception area looked boring and drab but the bar looked fairly nice. When we got to our corner room (corner of a triangle) the room was very bland. Not many nice decorations, view was decent, and bathroom was just blah. Bath tub didn't drain well so it would fill up during showers which I find disgusting. The hotel doesn't have free wifi and channel selections on the tv were slim. The bed and pillows were pretty comfortable though. Overall I would not stay here again as I'm sure one of the many hotels in the area are a lot nicer. read more

There is no free WiFi unless you're in the lobby. Who wants to sit in a lobby when you don't have to? To get WiFi in your room you need to pay $10. There was not enough towels in the bathroom. You have to take 2 elevators to go outside. Besides that everything else was good. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, the inner architecture was pretty, it smelled good, and it's located in the perfect area. You can walk anywhere and everywhere. read more

Never had a worse experience. My group of friends and I (between ages of 25-30) all decided to get a hotel room here so we would not have to worry about driving. The Hyatt never told us about this, but mandated that everyone over 2 people had to pay a $25 fee just to be in our room with us. You can imagine after paying $80 for our new years eve ticket, and 300+ for our room we were a bit pissed off that they also decided to skimp more money out of us. Its just so disrespectful. They also outsourced their NYE party to a organization called Hype Nightlife, which was very poorly organized and frankly just mean to its guests. I am a big believer that the companies you work with are a representation of who you are - and between trying to upsell us and working with Hype night life - i will never work with the Hyatt Downtown ever again. I'd give this experience a half star if possible. Checkin was at 4p, we arrived at 5:15p and had plans to go to a show for 7p. Room wasn't ready and we had to wait an hour to get our room. We were given a $20 food voucher and one free clam chowder to make up for the delay, only to find out we actually paid for the comp! Our neighbors were loud and swearing all throughout the night even going so far as to banging on our door at 3:30a. We had to rush to get ready for our show. After the show we ordered room service. Irish fries, mushroom pizza, lobster grilled cheese, and the free clam chowder. The pizza wasn't even edible which prompted us to call room service. The food manager was kind enough to remove the pizza from our room charge and comped us two free breakfast in the morning. The breakfast buffet would have cost us $58 for the two of us. The food was empty and the grill cook was rude. I ate one egg and half of a stale bagel. My husband had the grill cook make him 3 pancakes because there were none left in the heated bin. The cook was annoyed. When we complained about our stay no one seemed to care except the food manager. The front desk asked if we called security on our neighbors at 3:30a and my husband explained to him that he was on hold with housekeeping for 1 hr and 45 mins trying to resolve a different issue. Valet asked us how our stay was after paying $58 to park as a guest. We both replied in sync "TERRIBLE." We will not be back. read more

For those of you wondering if I pack enough street cred to drop this review, I've stayed here 30+ nights since 2015. I've got so much Hyatt Regency street cred guys. Yuge amounts. Yuge. The #1 reason I stay here is their On-Demand Ironing Service (my term, not theirs). Here's how it works: When I get to my room, I call the front desk, and within 10 minutes, someone comes up to get my suit, and they return it to me, nicely pressed, within about 30 minutes. This might sound minor or trivial. No. It's not. It is gold. For the business traveler - especially for the lazy business traveler - this is PURE UNADULTERATED GOLD. However you get into Boston - whether you Amtrak it, fly into Logan, hitchhike in on some hippie's station wagon, or brave the $15 Chinatown bus - here's what you're not going to want to do when you get here: iron. (I actually never want to iron, ever, but I digress). Having the ability to not iron and queue up the O.D.I.S. instead is SO GOLD. And it's the single reason why the Hyatt wins my business (ok, also because my office is down the street). Conversely, this is also why I do NOT stay at the Westin (if you're a glutton for punishment, more details are available in my Westin Waterfront review). They do not have a modern O.D.I.S. They make you wait a minimum of 24 hours to get your suit back. Very 19th century. Very unacceptable. Not yuge. Not gold. And yes, you guessed it, not a Westin customer. read more

Hyatt Regencys are the most inconsistent brand out there. This one happens to be a great one from the facilities, cleanliness, location to the staff. It's not the Ritz, but you get what you pay for. It's a quick walk to the green line or orange line, or really anywhere downtown. read more

The overall stay was fine. Room was clean and quiet. Hotel was more modern and sleek than expected. Some staff was wonderful. For instance, we needed a fridge brought up when the one we had stopped working. One was brought up very promptly and was already cold! We were impressed. Then when some items had not been restocked in our room by housekeeping, we called for them. They came quickly and someone followed up to make sure they had been delivered. The same person did both deliveries and was very friendly and professional. However, when we went to check in, our first impression wasn't great. The person didn't greet us or say hello, but simply said 'You will need a credit card for a deposit'. Front desk staff and concierge didn't greet us at all throughout our stay even though we had to walk by them repeatedly to get to and from the lobby and exit. Housekeeping was unimpressive and disappointing. Every day, something was not stocked or switched out like it should have been. When we arrived, there was no bath mat. The next day, there was a bathmat but they didn't provide fresh glasses (one day, they didn't even take away room service items that were left in the room). They didn't restock toilet paper unless we asked. The day they changed the sheets, they didn't change the pillow cases, which we noticed because there was something on one of them. We had stripped the bed for staff, but hadn't taken off the pillow cases so it made me wonder if they even would have changed the sheets on day 2 or 3 as scheduled. It just felt rushed and careless. So, what could have been a great stay because of a nice hotel and the efforts of some staff overall left us feeling like it was fine, but not stand out. Oh! Sleep quality would have been better if the curtains were a bit longer. They left a tiny gap where a light from a nearby building shone right in my eyes. read more

The absolute worst experience. AGAIN. This time we got the Presidential suite, yet they kicked us out for "noise" when we had no music on, and just some friends pregaming for our night out. Then, they charged us $250 extra for smoking, when nobody smoked, although we even had a balcony. I was personally there for no longer than 20-25 mins. Management are filthy pigs. read more

Loved this hotel and the best part was the Sunday breakfast buffet! The hotel is newer, remodeled and staffed with just about the nicest people Boston has to offer. EVERYONE-from the valet person, to the concierge person, to the front desk person was extremely helpful and nice. The room was beautiful, clean and the perfect temperature. Also, my room was super quiet. DO NOT MISS THE BUFFET! Don't get upset about the price tag (I think it was $28) But it was worth every penny. Fresh juice, omelette station, INCREDIBLE pancakes and french toast...the chef was handling the crowds like a boss and keeping everything fresh. I would come back just for the breakfast! I've stayed here 3 or 4 times over the past few years. It's actually a nice hotel, especially after the renovations -- clean, polite staff, good size rooms. My last two times staying here there was no blanket on the bed for some reason. I was going to give this place 4 stars, but after my trip last week it turns out they charged my credit card an extra $90 for no reason (not pending, the charge actually applied to my card). The last time I stayed here they charged me for bottled water that I didn't drink, this time they charged me $65 for room service (that I ordered) and $90 more for who knows what. There's another $100+ pending charge on my card, hopefully that also doesn't become yet another unwarranted charge. This is very unprofessional and recommend everyone triple check your credit card after staying here. read more

For this price you should get free wifi, continental breakfast, and morning paper. Yes that's right, if you don't explicitly refuse the morning paper they automatically charge you $1 per day. The lobby set up is the worst I've ever experienced. Parking is $43 per day! I love Boston, big New England sports fan but even I have to admit that it's not nearly as cool as staying New York City. Then why is this wanna be hotel charging you like you're stating in Midtown Manhattan? You're 1/2 a block from Chinatown, notorious for hookers, drug dealers, and rats so the location leaves a lot to be desired. For the same price stay at the old Radisson (called the Revere now) parking is less expensive and they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. I'll never stay here again. Way too many other options in the area that don't have hookers, drug dealers, and rats. The local area is not safe!!! This is a lie. They don't call it The Combat Zone for nothing. Strip clubs, sex shops, drug dealers along Kneeland Ave. Dont believe the hotels response to my post. As for the rest of my comments, simply read other reviews which clearly support my review of this establishment. Stay strong Yelpers, don't be swayed by rebuttals from those being reviewed. Let my start off by saying that the concierge and operator are amazing. The operator was patient and attentive. Do not go here for the pool, the pool looks like it has not been cleaned in years, and it has way too much chlorine in it, and looks foggy. The cleaning staff is HORRIBLE. The room wasn't even ready for us when it was check in time. We weren't provided all the amenities in the room (basics like powder creamer, lids etc). I had to call the operator three times in the same day to get someone to come up and clean. When they showed up at 10 at night they gave attitude and said they didn't want to clean. One of the times they didn't clean, some of our things were randomly placed. , our safe was open and their was an odd red drop on the sink that I unfortunately had the pleasure of touching. read more

Great hotel in a wonderful part of Boston! Hubby and I lucked out and got a great deal at the Hyatt Regency. Little did we know that we secured a great hotel in a fantastic location! Our flight landed much earlier than the check-in time, but the Hyatt quickly found a clean room for us to check into. We were on the 15th floor, and while we didn't have a great view of the City, the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom fixtures were slightly dated as others mentioned, but water pressure and temperature were great. Service from the front desk was fabulous. Everyone was very nice to us and offered recommendations and directions when we asked. The best part? This was a great place to walk from. Located very central near the financial district and Chinatown, we were able to walk to Quincy Market and Little Italy and the T with no trouble at all. Everything was very convenient, along with a taxi stand right downstairs for the times it rained. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the Hyatt and would definitely consider staying there again! read more

I walked in like a crazy person because my husband and I had just scored last minute seats to Plaza Suite at the Colonial Theater which apparently does not accept electronic tickets (a separate issue). The closest open place was the Hyatt. Gilma was beyond understanding. I am not a guest of the hotel, I live in Allston. After explaining my predicament, Gilma happily offered to print my tickets, no questions asked. Gilma saved the night and the money I had just paid for the tickets! Our last minute plans got cancelled and needed to stay in Boston one more night. We didn't know if it was possible to stay here again. But, the management in particular Greg Nomura helped us get by. I can never be more grateful for this man! He helped us secure the same room for another night. This is a complete Thanksgiving miracle. I really want to give this place a 2 but man it is so darn nice inside that you just can't. A 2 because of what we experienced there this weekend mostly. A 4 because truly it's nice, the staff is on it and the location is ideal. So let's start. Arriving if you're not familiar with the area can be confusing. It's a good thing we had GPS or we would have gone straight into the garage and not around the corner. They need to do better on signage. Upon arriving there's no sign really telling you Valet, only Parking and once you commit to the Parking only then do you see the Valet. It's like the Hyatt is sharing the garage with another business. So it can be a bit confusing. I opt for Valet pretty much everywhere I go every time and would suggest you do so here if affordable. $50 a night. The street check-in is weak and the taxis take up all the room if they're there. When you enter the hotel you are immediately greeted on the first lower level lobby or better known as LL by the concierge. Elevators to the main lobby or L are directly in front of you. Take those to the main lobby for check-in. Then to the right of check-in are the main elevators to all the rooms. We were on the 12th floor, 1209 to be exact. The room was nice and the layout of the room was nice. The view was weak and I'd request we never board there again. It's one of those rooms that has a door to ajoin to the other room. You can hear everything and I mean everything. Even the room directly across from us we could hear conversations. It didn't ruin our stay but it definitely is awkward. The one nice thing about this place is the Gym and Pool. Getting there for me though since I'm disabled is not. You have to walk a long hall and then down 2 flights of stairs (I was not told of an elevator nor did I see one) and then around and down and wow, we're there. Put your hiking shoes on. On our first day walking to the pool there was so much pot that one of my sister's kids screamed SKUNK!, we had to smartly say yeah, skunk to a 6 year old. First off let me remind you that this place is non-smoking as in NON SMOKING!!!!!!!! It really offended me and really bothered my sister that people have the audacity to smoke pot anywhere they please. Not good. Secondly when we returned to our hotel room we could smell smoke the entire night. At 3:30am I awoke to so much cigarette smoke coming into our room I had to run to the window to just breath. Again not good. What I don't get is if you're a smoker why are you checking into a SMOKE FREE HOTEL? Smokers seem to think they're invisible & that they can get away with smoking anywhere they go. They don't realize it matters to us non smokers and that they a clue just how offensive it really is to us NON SMOKERS! Especially ones like me that are Cancer Survivors and health nuts. The hotel strived to locate the culprits but you can't just go knocking on every door. I get that but it ruined our stay completely. Decor is super nice. The bathroom vanity is really nice. The tub is nice. Although it was dripping the entire stay. My sister's room was tight. It was a double queen room I think. Ours was a King and it was nice. The one thing I did like about the beds was comfort. They were nice. Pillows were nice and I was stoked not to see a comforter over the bedding. Those things are disgusting and as a germaphobe it was nice not to see one. I would highly recommend that they offer or redesign using a thicker down though and duvet like more modern hotels use. It was like we were using 2 sheets and that's that. Not good when it's 10 degrees outside. There is a cleaner way to do it. Price was decent. We got each night for $159. To me for location and being in Boston that was great. I typically put us up at the Westin Copley only because I'm a VIP member there but this location was better suited for our event. The restaurant is so so on the decor side, the bar is as well. Service was excellent each day and night. William was our server for each time. Food is fantastic. Room Service I can't speak too much to. It was ok. The location is really great. You feel safe, there are plenty of places to walk to. I can't really think of anything else. Definitely worth staying at. They just need to impose to their guest at check-in that this is a NON SMOKING facility and get that point across. Only because in the 35 years I've been going to Boston I've never had an incident like that. read more

Attended a conference at this hotel in November. The whole hotel is freezing & oddly laid out. There appears to be a problem with the elevators--they're ridiculously slow and as a result packed solid with people. But the worst is the hotel restaurant--the service is glacial! And the maitre d' doesn't do anything to ensure that service is smooth & fast. My hot tea was lukewarm at best, and arrived without any condiments. My waffle was cold & also served without any syrup or butter. Syrup was served cold (I guess to go with the cold waffle). Major waste of money & a meal. read more

Hands down one of my most favorite hotels. I paid for an unknown 4* room on Hotwire and got this deal for $70. Then I got upgraded to a larger room with a preferred view! Best part is the location - shopping at your doorstep. I loved everything about my stay here thanks to the staff who went out of their way to acknowledge my presence and meet my needs when I raised them. Not like other hotels where the fake happy is laid on thick and the doormen/reception people could care less about their customers. read more

First time staying at this Hyatt in Boston. Location is great. Close to a lot of activities and action. Glad I decided to stay there. I'm a Hyatt regular and didn't expect too much since it was a Hyatt "Regency", but I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was very responsive, cordial and service was superb. I had reserved a King Bed room, but was given an upgrade to a Suite upon check so to try and compare to a standard King Bed room wouldn't be too fair. For those with pillow issues, call housekeeping. They should take care of it for you. In my other Hyatt stays where I had those strange spongy pillows, I made a call to housekeeping and they brought up different pillows as needed. For those with issues about the rooms, just call the front desk and let them know. I am loyal to Hyatt because they want to try and make things right. Agree with a few responders about the dual lobby thing. Elevator wait times can be a bit long. Definitely use the other set of elevators to the parking garage. A little faster. A key note is the restaurant in the main lobby. I had breakfast there (full on buffet along with made to order eggs) and the service is absolutely fantastic! There must be a lot of regular guests who stay at this hotel because the staff was addressing many of the guest by name. Now that's impressive. The team there was quite responsive, made sure my drinks were always full and cleared items as soon as I was done. Service you see at a 5 star restaurant. read more

I can't complain about price because I booked it for $70/night on priceline, but I'll cut to the chase with the positives and negatives of the Hyatt Regency Boston Pros: - clean (except for mildewy showers) - fairly inexpensive - very spacious bathtubs and showers - soft beds - nice toiletries - let me check in about an hour before regular check-in time Cons - INCREDIBLY noisy!! - conjoined rooms have little sound proofing, especially in the doors - I could hear all the giggling and phone ringing of the people next door to me. Plus, situated next to the ice machine and maid's closet (seems to be common if you book on priceline). Additionally, kids stomping and running up and down the hallway constantly - though this is not the hotel's fault (maybe if they put families with kids on the same floor) and more the fault of lazy parents - Additional charge for internet - kind of ridiculous in this day and age - Could not find the entrance - enter on the side of Lafyette, take the stairs down, elevator up, cross the lobby, find main elevators, and go up to your room - very odd, confusing layout of hotel - No mugs in the room - the paper cups are wasteful, mugs would be nice - no bathrobes; the website indicated bathrobes. minor, but would have been nice! - shower was pretty mildewy; looks deceiving, but the minute you turn on the water, grey and brown emerge all over the grout - not many channels on the TV - looks like it was basic Direct TV, with maybe 20 channels or so - most of which are sports, kids, or news (the food network or discovery channel would be nice! even bravo!) read more

Not clean. Friendly but not informative. Had a fire alarm at 2:00 am. No explanation. Walked past us, we had to engage them for answers on how to proceed. Clearly stated we had 4 people in our room, only had 3 towels, had to ask for towels every morning. Didn't replenish our room with basics every day. For the cost, big disappointment. read more
