I went with my son to look at vehicles in November after his was totaled recently. It was a spur of the moment trip as we were doing work around our home. Once we arrived we walked around a bit to look at vehicles. After 30 mins, we still had no one come to assist or even acknowledge if we needed help or questions answered. Another couple that arrived after us did seem to get assistance tho. Maybe we didn't look nice enough? Who knows. I finally went into the building. After that things went okay. My son got his vehicle and I actually ended up getting a vehicle too (mine was not planned). Still cant get over the lack of care and assistance in the beginning which gives them a lower rating. This review pertains strictly to the purchase experience of a new Toyota from this dealership. I can not comment on the service department or parts department. Last week, I decided to purchase a new Prius. After calling several dealerships to get an idea of prices, I called Kelly Kabat at I-5 Toyota. He was hands-down the most courteous and honest salesperson I've dealt with to date. I buy new cars roughly every 12 months and was thoroughly impressed by Kelly's knowledge of the product and his commitment to fair and honest salesmanship. It was an easy decision to buy my new Prius at I-5 Toyota. They provided what was by far the best price on a new Prius and the sales tax was only 8.2% instead of Seattle's 9.5%. I would recommend buying from I-5 Toyota and dealing with Kelly Kabat. That really means something, as I generally don't care for automobile salespeople. read more

He came out and offered us the keys :) Too bad that was out of our price range. He introduced himself. He explained hat he was actually in finance, but all the sales people were busy, plus they were short staffed. My first thought was: "way to step up!" We explained what we were looking for, what we'd checked out online. We gave him our target price range and he delivered! We had a pre-approval with a good APR. Once he ran our report, he was confident he could find a better rate if we'd give him the opportunity. Sure enough, he delivered again! He helped all the way though the process. I added this to my review because at the end of the day, we got the best deal within the Puget Sound area... after the review I posted, the VP, Robert sent me a note to call him, which I did. He worked with us in finding a new vehicle at the best price. We ended up working with the GM, James which he was very accommodating in finding the right car and options. Because the management made us the best deal, and they were very easy to work with, and accommodating, I give them a five star rating... thanks Robert and James. We were looking for a used Rav4, and we found one on their lot that was reasonably priced. We coordinated with the salesperson/manager on the price we were looking for. We felt we were getting a good deal on the car. We were looking for a lightly used, like new vehicle. We were very specific with the salesperson on the condition of the vehicle. We asked him to make sure he put his eyes on the vehicle to ensure it was as described and promised. The salesperson told us it was immaculate; this was very important to us because we were driving 2 1/2 hours to look at the vehicle. The salesperson asked us to call him when were 30 minutes away to make sure the vehicle was prepped for the sale. We called him several times and left messages, no return call. When we arrived and looked at the vehicle, which btw the salesperson had not shown up yet, the vehicle had scratches all down the drivers side and the plastic molding had discolored. It had appeared the car had been well used, not lightly used. The manager on duty apologized for the inconvenience and did fill up our gas tank for our trip home. We are very discouraged because we were very specific on what we were looking for. read more

I wanted to give these guys a 5. I originally had every intention of doing so bc they tout being clean and above par. However...they're not. They are just as bad if not worse than any other dealer I've ever experienced. The only reason I'm higher than a 1 is because I love the car and we got close to our desired cost,albeit still not quite there. Here's why we have a bad review. 1)I had to haggle for 3 days to get a decent price tag. Not uncommon but very irritating. 2) I got to the dealership 75 -80 minutes away w/o traffic and they tried to fabricate a "severe shaking" in the braking system in our trade-in. Literally NOONE has ever had a problem and mind you I drove it for 90 minutes before getting there. 3) They wanted me to pay "half the cost to fix the brakes" which adds up to the full cost of THEIR service department to replace them. 4) TWO DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT, I had no working plugs, 4 days and lights started flashing, 5 days and the whole thing went to crap--bad knock sensor, bad four wheel drive package,bad battery testing....kept adding up. Turns out a rat ate the wiring harness. Warranty won't cover acts of God or nature. Insurance (which I should NEVER have had to ask) won't cover it bc it is damage from the dealer's lot). They refused to pay to fix it. Told me I had to have it towed to them. 5) the absolute crap "roadside assistance " plan they "included" would NOT tow the vehicle bc they were more than 25 miles away. The dealership made me schedule it and refused to try to work it themselves. So I had to pay to tow it to them bc I am not risking the safety of my children for a 90 minute drive on the highway with every light flashing. 6) Every single employee of I5 Toyota has blown me off between 1 &20 times EACH. INCLUDING the sales Manager John and the Maintenance Manager Robert. I only received one ever returned call in 2 weeks and that is bc I annoyed them by calling 3 dozen times in a day. I have never received any returned calls AT ALL since and whenever I call the employees and managers are always "with a customer and will call back when they're available." 7) I ended up paying $1160 to have it all repaired bc I5 Toyota is dishonest and DOES NOT honor their customers or theirs sales. Do not let them lullyou into a sense of false security. We were ripped off 100% and they're behavior was inexcusable and unacknowledged. I will never again use I5 Toyota and will be sure to spread the word to any of my friends and loved ones to find a different dealer. The only reason I would ever go to another Toyota is bc the manager at the Puyallup Toyota Dealership was outstanding and tried very hard to help me. However I will not be purchasing a future vehicle with ANY Toyota DeAlers. The only redeeming quality of this incident is that John Spoon was a really nice guy and tried to negotiate with me before the purchase. That's my only favorable comment. Otherwise...I give Toyota I5 a negative 7. Feel free to comment if you would like further advice or information. This is my HONEST rating and my personal experience. I5 Toyota did nothing to make the situation right. And they have rats in the lot. I understand covid cost us all SO MUCH but at least own your faults and fix them. We searched all over Portland and the near surrounding areas for an in stock RAV4 Hybrid Limited in Blizzard Pearl with a lighter colored interior and our search was a nightmare. All the dealerships wanted us to come in and order a vehicle that would be delivered 2 months out... ridiculous! I-5 Toyota had one in stock and when my wife called and said we'd be there an hour or so before their close time, they said no problem they'd have it ready to test drive and check out. We got there, it was parked out front waiting with Craig Anderson patiently prepared to help move our deal forward. Did a decent test drive, came back to the dealership and with very limited 'dealing', they mostly accepted our trade-in terms and concessions and we were off the lot shortly after their close of business with our new car. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful, especially Craig. I accidentally left my sunglasses in our trade-in and he had them boxed up and shipped to me the next day. I had to take my Diesel Ford F250 truck in for maintenance, and these guys did the job right. My wife and I were going to be out of town for a few days and out of cell phone service, so I gave them permission to do whatever needed done since I wouldn't be reachable by phone. They only did what we had discussed, no other unneeded services, even though they easily could have. Don't get confused by the location - this is the service center for Uhlmann Ford, but it is not located at the Ford Dealership South of Chehalis/Centralia. It is in the same complex as Walmart and Home Depot off of I-5 exit 79. read more

Drove all the way down here last Saturday afternoon as I had seen 5 cars on their website that looked interesting, when we got there it was a struggle to get helped and I only saw one of the cars I had seen online, when I asked about the ones that interested me most I got the "well we have five lots and they may be there" the one car they had on the lot that interested me had a stone cold dead battery, so this whole trip was a complete waste of time. Use extreme caution when dealing with this place as the other four cars had been sold but still appeared on their website, it isn't that hard now days to delete things off a webpage, unless you are intentionally trying to draw in customers with false advertising read more

If I could give Zero stars I would....Buyer BEWARE!!! We test drove a car, but wanted to make sure they replaced safety items on the car (BRAKES...). We left with a tentative deal, but before we returned to the dealer, we wanted to confirm that all repair items were fixed. The Salesman texted me the to see if we wanted the car, we said YES! He informed us that the price he gave us was the "best deal" they could offer. I said YES to the price, as long as the brakes and any other safety issue they find be fixed. Salesman gives me a run around, "not sure if they made the repairs" and that the Service Manager was not going to be in until the following day. If we wanted to make another trip up there to "test drive" the car again to see if the repairs were done we could or we could wait until he verifies the repair work. Salesman was nice enough to say "IF IT HAPPENS TO SELL TODAY, I WILL LET YOU KNOW". Excuse me...but I thought we had a deal and the only thing that was holding us up was verification of the repairs (safety repairs...I think brakes fall within that category). The Salesman was nice enough to text me at 6:19 (after they closed at 6:00 pm) to let me know that the car did not sell and that we were all set for our appointment the following day. Following day, I messaged Salesman to see if we could have the paperwork ready to sign (you know...with the COVID-19). Now a new "Sales Manager" says "he spoke with our detail department and the Mustang is scheduled to be done today and ready for our appointment". After sending him ALL of my personal information again to complete the paperwork, I get a message at 1:58 PM (our appt. is at 5:00), that the car was SOLD last night....WAIT A MINUTE...you already told me that the car did not sell. LIES...LIES...LIES - if you want to be told a bunch of lies, go here, otherwise RUN...RUN as fast as you can. They also offered me a low ball offer for my trade in, said that is the "best they can do". read more

Went there today with my hubby, and these people know nothing about the cars they're selling. They were giving us inaccurate facts about some of their models, and showed no interest in wanting my business. I told them I was interested in a couple different cars, and one of the salesmen asked if we wanted to see the inside of the cars. I said of course. He then said he would get someone to help us. He goes into an office with windows with 3 other salesmen. He says something to them, and they all stare at us from their window in their office. 30 minutes later, we just left. I traded my Subaru Crosstrek hybrid because I had a bad experience with Hanson motors service Dept.I5 Toyota gave me a quote for my trade in and it was a good one. The sales guy was a sales guy with full of deals. He said that I can get a top of the line rav4 adventure and would not need a thing just drive off. I came down and gave my crosstrek for appraisal. I test drove the rav 4 and loved it. I noticed that there were no floor mats and I mentioned it. They said it is in a box and not put in until purchase. After dealing with the finance dept ( pretty streamlined and easy) I was sent to my new rav4 for tech demonstration (Jeremy i think was gis name was great). Holy crap, this car is tech heaven. Jeremy goes over everything, you still want to go over the manual and then download the remote start app so you can start your ride remotely from your phone. It even gives you status of your car, whats locked and not, how much gas and then some. Now its time to drive home but noticed again no floormats. Jeremy said he'd let the sales guy know (Rakoz) in the morning since he has already left for the night. I received a call from the sales guy a few days later and said he has not forgotten me. Much appreciated. A couple of days pass and he cannot find an all weather floormat and mentioned that this is an extra purchase. I responded that he said the veh was top of the line and would not need anything, just drive off plus i mentioned it after the test drive. The mgr was quick to respond after hearing of this and called me to say he will make sure I get the all weather floormats. I came down and he set me up. So to sum up, floormats don't come standard. Especially, weather tec type. I just want to say that I5 Toyota is all about customer service and have proven it on the sales end. Hanson Subaru needs a lesson from I5 Toyota. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE OR ANY PLACE CONNECTED WITH THEM! So these guys are linked with the I5 auto across the freeway. I had a great buying experience over there with Lexi BUT....I in the selling end of the buy I was offered an after market warranty. was considering the low one that covered the drive train but was urged to go for the higher one that covered the electric as well. I was very hesitant and wasn't going to because it was a lot more money to add to my loan. I was worried that it wouldn't cover the hybrid battery which is VERY expensive. He assured me it would and convinced me to buy it. Here I am not even a year later and I need that battery. Had to take it to the Honda dealer in Olympia to get it diagnosed which was inconvenient to begin with. Then only to find out that not only does that warranty NOT cover the hybrid battery, but that my car was seen in there 5 months before I purchased it for that very reason! So either they do not do a thorough job inspecting all that should be on a hybrid before they sell it (negligence) OR they sold it to me knowing the battery was going bad. Either way, when I called to confront them about this i was passed up the chain of command only to have my calls avoided for a week now. Sad to know that a dealership place acts just like the stereotypical used car salesman! I am riting this under I5 Toyota because the finance manager that oversees all thses lots that are connected has his office at this location. UPDATE: They finally returned my call. They CAN"T help me get a new battery for the car they sold me but they can help me get into another car...???REALLY !! SELL me another car?!?!?! Update 11/6.... I called within an hour of her posting this response yesterday. Left a message, no call back. Called again at 9 this morning, left another message. Is the response just for show? An hour after my last update i recieved a call from the Finance Manager again. This time he said it MIGHT be possible to split the cost of the battery. But before we could come to any kind of agreement he once again made me furious by accusing me of being unreasonable and rude when 'He was just trying to help me"..... If they are really trying to HELP me this would be settled by now. Also, he blatenly lied to me about when the first time we spoke was. I do have my phone records and know that the first time he called me was Monday the 29th at 7:15 pm. NOT the Friday after as he claims. These people are seriously NOT TO BE TRUSTED! read more

Of course we could return it for our down payment but we (so far) have decided to put the grand into this truck. My advice --- Don't trust what they say. We purchased a RAV 4 from this dealership. It is our 4th Toyota, the previous 3 purchased elsewhere. So, this is not about the car, rather its about the dealership. 1. When we signed the contract, it took 6 days to get the car when they promised 2 days. 2. The sales contract says 150 mi on the odometer when it was actually 254 mi when we took delivery. 3. We were completely mis-lead on the financing option. We wanted to pay cash. They convinced us to take out a loan and then immediately pay it off when we got the first statement. They said it would the same as paying cash if we paid it off within 60 days. As soon as we got our first statement we paid the total amount that day. Then subsequently find out there is a daily interest rate charged and we owe an additional $128. This is not a trustworthy dealership. Buy your Toyota someplace else. read more

Do not buy a car from this company. They don't go the extra mile for you. I bought a Toyota Corolla from them. The breaks were squeaking. The salesman told me the breaks were new. It turns out the breaks were old and the discs on the tires were warped. Not only that, the salesman didn't bother to tell us about the massive slip in the transmission going from 4 to 5th gear. I gave them my number and never heard back from them. Since then, I've dealt with two other dealers in Washington. One held a car for me half a day once I said I would buy it. The other told me that their standard practice is to hold a car once someone accepts an offer. There are better/more honest dealers out there than I-5. I would suggest going with them. read more

These guys are CROOKS! My wife and I went to trade in our vehicle for a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 they had listed. When we went to test drive the vehicle, the check engine light was on and they assure us that it's just a dead battery as they had to jump the vehicle to get it started. Ok, I buy that and they assure us that it will be taken care of before the sale. We decide to go ahead and buy since the price was right and it had low miles. They wait until we are literally signing the last of the paperwork to tell us that there is a mileage discrepancy. Instead of having 105k, the last reported mileage was 268k! We are about to walk away but they give us a couple more thousand for our trade-in, and it's a Cummins diesel which are known to run forever so we decide to go ahead with the purchase. They put one new battery in (which it's well known with dual battery vehicles that they need to be replaced in pairs), but whatever, I'm just ready to get out of their dealership and be done with these guys. We make it home the 60 miles without issue. Great. Next time I drove the truck (a few days) I made it 10 miles and the check engine light came back on. I was right next to AutoZone and they tell me I need a new alternator. Ok, I'll bite the bullet and spend $150 and some time to get this taken care of once and for all since the dealership only wanted to put a band-aid over the problem (little did I know what a small band-aid it actually was). After a new alternator it's still not charging. This doesn't surprise me though since the wiring harness going to the alternator had multiple cuts/splices. I pull the codes myself and came up with 5 codes that point to major electrical problems. I called to talk to the sales manager to ask what could be done since I have literally driven this vehicle less than 100 miles and now it's essentially dead in my driveway and won't charge (and hasn't been). He tells me that since the vehicle left the lot with "no problems" that they couldn't do anything. Well I'm positive they knew this truck had issues prior to selling it. Their mechanics would have had to at least see the list of codes while they were clearing them the first time and would have known that the truck was just running off the batteries and not charging. Well I knew I'd have to try and fix this myself. I'm sure not taking it back to them to "fix"!! The voltage regulator on these trucks are managed by the ecu which are about $600 to replace. The wiring harness that it really needed was another $800 as well as a few $100+ sensors that were also damaged by faulty wiring. What I ended up having to do is installing an external voltage regulator to basically bypass the ecu (the cheapest way to get this truck charging), then go through the entire engine wiring harness to repair the insane amount of damage there was. The faulty wiring is what fried the charging portion of the ecu and these guys would have HAD to know this truck was only running off battery power. Well I call and talk to the sales manager again to tell him what had to be done to repair the vehicle and he wants me to send a copy of all my receipts and he'll try and pay me for the parts. I thought that was nice of them as I wasn't expecting them to do a thing by this point. After sending them the receipts, I hear nothing back from them until I finally filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. Their reply was that I need to bring the truck in for diagnoses, then they would review what needs to be done and then they MAY take a percentage off the total repair bill! Unbelievable. The truck is fixed. Luckily I'm only out just over $1000 and countless hours of research, frustration and repairing/replacing. Obviously these crooks won't hesitate to patch up a vehicle just good enough to get you off the lot with it and then IT'S YOUR PROBLEM! Buyer Beware! read more

Searched months for a specific Toyota tacoma. I-5 Tacoma in Chehalis contacted us with the ability to get exactly what we were looking for brand new. Shipped it in (did not disclose fee for this) We went in to sign loan docs and put $13,000 down. Declined ALL extended warranties. Very adamant not to add these as the vehicle was brand new. 2 months later I am $6000 over the agreed loan amount after down payment. Why? Because they slid the paperwork in during signing and added the warranties after specifically being told NO! was told we would get a copy of the paperwork upon vehicle pick up-never received it until I contacted corporate. Contacted the sales manager Henry and was reassured a refund would be issued. 3 months later after filling out the appropriate paperwork for reimbursement and still nothing. No response to email. Ok...so I hate the car buying experience. BUT, I have to say that Chris Hardesty at I-5 Toyota, along with the management staff, pulled through and exceeded my expectations. I was greeted with no pressure, friendly attitude and down to earth approach. Part of the deal that we worked out when we bought our Toyota Tacoma, was including a camper shell. Before I came to the location to pick it up, they informed me that there was a mishap in production, and they had delivered the wrong shell. Well, you can imagine I was pretty upset, initially...given that this was a work truck that I needed for my dog walking business, immediately. The staff was extremely apologetic, and promised me that they would "make this right for me." A little while later Todd, the sales manager called me to say that they had found me a canopy that was even better than the one they ordered and closer to my location (Seattle) I was able to pick it up right away, and drove away very happy. The point that I would like to make about this business, is that they really care about their reputation and want to make buying a car a great experience for people. Ok, so here is my experince with this dealership. I went in with a trade in, and whent to look for a used truck. I met with the sales man, very nice guy. I found the truck I wanted, but it had minor flaws, some of which were saftey issues. It needed new tires, and the blinker bulb needed replaced. The sales man and I discussed these issues, and haggled over the price for both trade in and overall price for the truck. After reaching an agreement, the dealership put me into a loaner car. Pretty nice. They told me that the truck should be ready (with the all weather floor mats, and window deflectors should be in with new tires on the truck with in a 2-3 days. On the 4th day, my salesman called, telling me the truck was ready for pick up. I arrived at the dealership, noted the new tires, whent to climb in and the blinker had not been repaired, MAJOR problem seeing how it took 4 days to only install new tires. I went to put my gear in the back seat area, and the passenger seat handel fell off! I informed the salesman that the truck was not safe to take it out off the lot, and both issues need to be repaired. Neither floor mats or deflectors were on/in at this time. 3 days later, I called then whent to the dealership, and the blinker was fixed but the seat was a issue. They told me they would give me a new seat and fix the handle. about 2 days later the dealership called, after many calls to the dealership in regards to my truck, it was ready for pick up. It took roughly 7-8 days to put in a blinker and install tires. The seat was not replaced, it is stiff as hell, and only the handel was fixed. The deflectors came in roughly 2 weeks later, and I went to pick them up, told that they would be put on for me. I went to the parts dept. where they could not locate them for approx 15 mins. Upon the finding of them, they simply handed them to me and told me to have a good day. Asking them to put the deflectors on (probaly a 20 min job) would of probaly taken them a day or 2. Just an update, engine number five and I was just told that my sunroof assembly is going to cost me another $3000. I still owe about $8000 on my vehicle, and all I-5 has told me is that I bought the car from them and that they have no accountability for their selling me the worst lemon ever!!! read more
