If employees aren't willing to clean up something as simple as yogurt cups, are they cleaning the machines? This place is a hard pass for me. I happened to be in the area and was craving Fro-yo. This place seemed like it had some pretty good reviews, so I figured it would be fine. Boy, was I so mistaken. Upon walking in, I was appalled at the smell. The odor of something rotting was apparent, and at that point, I should've walked right back out. I wanted to give this place a chance, so I proceeded. As other people have mentioned, there was a wide array of flavors. The yogurt machines are lined along the back half of the shop for self-serve access. Funny how in all that choice, the only things that sounded good were Italian Tart and Strawberry. Most of the other flavors sounded really sweet. I wanted yogurt, not an onslaught of sugary pseudo-yogurts. I dispensed a cup of half Italian Tart and Strawberry. Okay, I have to say; I had seen reviews where people were happy about dispensing their own yogurt. I am in the other camp. I truly think this is a bad idea. Why? Well, when I looked down at my freshly dispensed Italian Tart Yogurt, there was an unmistakable brown smear on it. That means someone else, held their yogurt cup up to the dispenser and got their already filled yogurt smeared onto the nozzle. Cool. I wounded how long it's been there? It was an icky notion. The toppings bar was weird. You pass your yogurt through a clear partition and hand it to an employee, and then they add the toppings. I'm totally fine with this, it's just that the toppings looked unappetizing. Between the assortment of sugary cereals and sad looking fruit, I was only willing to take my chances with blueberries. I thought I was playing it safe, but they could've been rinsed off better. I had several pieces of the stem in my yogurt. Also, special recognition goes to the sliced bananas I saw...it's like they took one lone banana, sliced it up, and then had it dry out all day. I get not cutting up a lot at once to not create waste, but once they begin to lose volume and take on a darker sheen, it's time to throw out and start fresh. I haven't even gotten to the taste of the yogurt. I was instantly disappointed when I tasted it. It was creamy- but lacked the actual taste you would expect from a quality yogurt. You can still get a creamy consistency with emulsifiers, but you cannot fake taste. The Italian Tart was such a let down. I could barely discern the rich flavor of a good soft serve yogurt. The strawberry variety was too sweet, tasted artificial and also lacked that same richness and tang you would expect from a legit yogurt. It was so disappointing. I threw about half my yogurt away, and just felt foolish for not trusting my gut once I got a whiff of this place. "I Heart Yogurt"? No you don't. If someone loves yogurt, why would they put this out there in the world as a testament to their self-professed feeling about said yogurt? You don't need a dozen flavors- you need a few good quality ones done right. Invest in a deep clean and get to the root cause of the stench in the store. Just so puzzled at how a place can be so bold as to claim they love yogurt and do it such a disservice? read more

absolutely terrible customer service today 12/10/24 by Maria at about 4pm. my son in here go here once a week after school and today he wanted to try the candy cane flavor on top of his usual flavor so we got a little dollop. He ended up not liking this peppermint flavor, so I went up to ask Maria, if we could get just a small amount of the regular sherbet, and she said we already paid for what we got and if we wanted anymore we would have to pay for it. all I was asking for was a small amount, because my four-year-old son did not like the flavor that he tried. Maria said that this is a business and would not allow me to get any information about how to complain other than telling me her name and to go to the website, a website which does not exist I come to find out. as a business, I find this absolutely deplorable not to take care of your customers in any shape whatsoever. we will not be going back to this place of business, unless my complaint is addressed. read more

The flavors at this place are definitely there. However, you'll only get to try one, as there is only one sample cup/customer. So sucks if you're in to switching it up. The topping options are limited. Plus you can't scoop them on your own. It's annoying to say how much you want and it loses the touch of your uniqueness. Not to mention the staff isn't all that friendly. I waited 5 minutes just to get greeted and presented my sample cup. Then she was seemingly waiting for my departure as I tried to decide what I wanted. For some reason, there was no outdoor seating, a big reason for me coming. So the only option was to sit inside where there's no music or life really in this place. It's also weird that they have tablets over their flavors, but handwritten paper signage everywhere else. Good fro yo but employee was rude and accused my friend of wasting 8 dollars of frozen yogurt. She claimed that she saw it on camera and wrongly accused my friend even though there were plenty of other children in the store that could've done it as well. She was extremely impolite and treated us with disrespect even though we were paying customers. My friend even tipped her 50% and she still wrongly accused her. This is good froyo...I think deciding between I Heart Yogurt and Pinkberry comes down to personality types. If you are a do-it-yourselfer and want to grab the bull by the horns, then this is your place. Just corral one of the freaking gigantic cups (don't forget to lift with your legs to avoid back injury) and load up. Seriously, these things are just about large-popcorn bucket-sized. Varied selection of flavors. When I went, the texture was nice: I prefer my froyo a bit softer after it has melted some, and this came out that way from the machines. Toppings could use some labels. I did like the mini reeses peanut butter cups! One side note, the slatted benches are torture if you have anatomy similar to mine (own an ass). I will have to stuff a pillow down my pants if I ever sit on them again. Here is where I make my case for Pinkberry: if you are the type that likes to be waited on hand and foot (like me), then Pinkberry is your place. They take care of all the difficult topping sprinkling for you with a smile.They serve it in a manageable cup size suited to your liking. And you don't have to grab the topping handle that a 10 year old with lesser hygienic skills than MY 10 year old just grabbed, and I can tell you about 10 year olds' hygienic skills...trust me. This has sent me searching for something to fill the froyo void in my heart. (Heart...ha....) Anyway, hear this -- the opinion of not one but THREE girls who once were Yogilicious die-hards. I Heart Yogurt is........BETTER. I'll say it again, before you rush out to get an updated eye exam. BETTER. BETTER than Yogilicious. Hello. I Heart Yogurt. I do. The quality of yogurt at I Heart Yogurt was WAY better. I swear, I never thought I'd say that, but I did...multiple times. One of my friends, who was allllll about the vanilla flavor at Yogilicious, took one taste of the vanilla at I Heart Yogurt and declared that she would never go back to Yogilicious. I'm serious, I think I saw tears of joy in her eyes. Another of my friends fell in love with their creamy coconut flavor, which I agree was miles beyond the coconut flavor at Yogilicious. And as for myself? This little piggy fell in love with their "original" flavor (aka "plain"), which was soooooooo much more tart than the flavor at Yogilicious. And I cried "whee! whee! whee!" all the way home. As for toppings? They've got everything I ever wanted at Yogilicious -- and although the mochi isn't as good (not as chewy), the blueberries were plumper and fresher. Oh, and it's cheaper than Yogilicious by the ounce. Oh, and it's coming soon to Uptown. Oh, and I'm SO THERE. Oh and hey...did I mention that I Heart Yogurt has a pistachio flavor???? Just heard about this place from my doctor. (What better recommendation!??) All yogurt is fat free - 10 different flavors that you can mix and match. I think it said 80 calories for 4 oz. All the toppings are organic fruits and nuts - some candies. I got the biggest blackberries on mine. Incredible! The Italian Cappuccino flavor mixed with vanilla and cheesecake were my favorites. My friend wanted me to experience her new love. She insisted that I had to try it and would love it more than my love, Pinkberry. I have always gone to Pinkberry and loved it and felt bad for betraying my love. But my friend insisted I try it and I caved. Wow...that's all I can say. The yogurt was amazing! It was so yummy and the toppings were so fresh. I was intimidated at first because I didn't know what to do. But it was so easy. It's a self-serve (which I love!) and you just get this cup and serve yourself. You pick out what flavor you want and choose your toppings. They just weigh it and poof you are done! The place is small which doesn't leave much seating but it's so worth it! I heart yogurt is where I go when I have self control that day and know I won't go to crazy in there! I still love Pinkberry but there is something about being in control about how much or how little makes it better. I think I might just go get some right now! I just stumbled across this frozen yogurt store and was pleasantly surprised. It's tucked in the back of the Preston Royal shopping center on the same side as Central Market. It's really clean inside and they have great flavors. They had a blood orange flavor that was like nothing I have ever tasted before. The other thing that makes this frozen yogurt place different is that you can put the toppings on yourself. Granted that will probably get you in trouble by piling too much on but I liked being able to just put a tiny bit on if I wanted. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because while the flavors were good there just wasn't very many of them. Also it's not a place that is going to provide a high touch customer service, pretty much all self serve. read more

Well damn. My frozen yogurt world has officially been rocked. I thought Yogilicious was king but now I'm a bit torn. I stopped into I Heart Yogurt on my way home from work today and am already planning my return! It had a few negatives, which I'll get out of the way here: the biggest one was the service, or lack thereof. There was one young girl working there who was texting on her phone the ENTIRE time I was there. She yelled hello in a sing-songy voice whenever someone walked in, but never looked up from her phone. I went to go ask her for sample cups (I fully intended on trying ALL the samples) and she didn't look up when she gave them to me. Or when I paid. It had a totally different feel...not ridiculously crowded like Yogilicious was the last time I went in (good lord) but more like a place rich moms go after a workout or with their daughters. Also, of course, I can't walk to it like I can to Yogilicious. And they didn't have Taro. On to the good...it's self service, just like Yogilicious. 40! (not 35 like I originally thought) cents an ounce. The flavors were all great except a orange/tangerine sorbet that was pretty weird--the color (and taste) of orange Triaminic. Let's see how many I can remember: 1. Belgian dark chocolate - tasted like an extra chocolatey frostee 2. Swiss milk chocolate - tasted like an extra creamy frostee 3. California strawberry - tasted like strawberry milk 4/5. French & Italian espresso - both good, I liked Italian better, but not sure why they needed two espressos 6. Cookies n' Cream - meh, didn't really taste like either 7. Green tea - really tart and really good! 8. Tahitian vanilla - really good vanilla flavor 9. Pomegranate - another tart one, really tasty 10. Peanut butter - yum 11. Italian(?) original - supertart plain, double yum! (haven't decided which place does it best) I mixed the plain, green tea, and pomegranate for a medley of delicious tartness, and added fruity pebbles, yogurt chips, almonds, bananas, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, blackberries, pineapples, and grapefruit for $5.75. It was way more than I usually get but I kinda felt bad for spending like 10 minutes trying all the flavors. I would love to mix the belgian dark chocolate and peanut butter next time and top it with bananas...mmm. If I can ever force myself to get something other than a tart flavor, that is. Also, all their containers/packaging (they have lids and bags if you want to take your fro-yo to go) are biodegradable. So, I guess now my favorite froyo place just depends on what part of town I'm in. I'm still partial to Yogilicious because I feel like it's a more homey/neighborhood place, but this is some serious competition. You have to try it! read more

At .35 cents per ounce it's sorta pricey but the taste is so yummy. My yogurt cup came out to be $7! They have the best Strawberry flavor here because it almost tastes like real strawberry ice cream. This self-service fro-yo joint was hopping on a Sunday night. It was like as if all of Preston Hollow's finest and their rat pack descended on I Heart Yogurt (IHY). If your heart is set on do it yourself fro-yo where there are countless fro-yo flavors and toppings to choose from, then this place is for you. On any given Sunday (or any other day) you'll find a dozen different flavors. We liked French cappuccino the best, but found the consistency of all the fro-yo a bit hard versus silky smooth. Minus a star because of the quality of the yogurt. I'm happy to sacrifice some variety for higher quality yogurt personally. The topping bar is plentiful and the strawberry mochi is a nice add. It's a bit hard not to pay less than $6 or try to get anything small here because the smallest size offered is the equivalent of a large anywhere else. Their only other size, the XL, is ridiculously large. It's virtually a bucket so large you could probably use it to feed your chow chow. Portion control will be a challenge at IHY. If you're averse to bright colors, make sure to bring some shades because the interior is very...bright. Patrons can write about their love affair for IHY on the walls. The small river rock flooring is a nice touch. IHY is a good choice for fro-yo if you're in the hood, especially if you're a self serve fro yo fan. I Heart Yogurt arguably has the best yogurt in Dallas. Definitely the best Plain Tart out of Natsumi, O-Cup, and Yogilicious. The Tahitian Vanilla is my next favorite, but you probably can't go wrong with any of the flavors. Self-serve yogurt is the way to go. You can mix and match as you please. Sitting at home eating ice cream out of a carton gets tired and lonely. So when I heard that others were finding true happiness with frozen yogurt, I was intrigued but a little scared. Trying to find one to wed in tasty frozen bliss or at least seriously date would be a challenge. I read I Heart Yogurt's profile online and thoughts we might be a match so I took the next step. First impressions: I Heart Yogurt was appealing. It had a variety of flavors but nothing really deep. It does tart well, but overall the choices are kind of dull. Additionally, the machines are slow and create a really hard product ....but still, I was keeping an open mind that I would see I Heart Yogurt again. Next: I went to pay for this encounter and "Yikes". Expensive date + attitude? 40 cents an ounce is certainly more than I have spent on others and I would have to hand it over to some snippy teen who was bothered that she had to stop texting to accept my wallet-full of cash. I'm sorry that daddy made you get a stupid job so you could earn your OWN money for once. Maybe you can simply lock the door right now so that we demanding customers don't keep you from your deep discussion of OMGs and WTFs. This is my favorite culinary discovery of 2010 so far. Here's how it works: You go in, grab a bowl and saunter up to one of the many self-serve frozen yogurt machines. You can choose just one flavor, or you can mix & match and fill your bowl with every color imaginable. (The latter is more likely. There are too many tasty flavors to pass up!) Then you head to the toppings bar. There you can add candy (gummi bears, butterfinger, reeses, sprinkles), cookies, fresh fruit (kiwi, strawberries) and more! The cashier will weigh your froyo bucket, and you pay per ounce. The flavors are plentiful. My favorites are the Orange-Tangerine (tastes like a dreamsicle) and Cookies & Cream (amazing.) Best thing about this dessert - only 22 calories per ounce! A great treat if you're on a diet, and living in crazy hot Texas in the summer. read more

They have an array of flavors which are fairly typical, but taste better than the competition. One of my coworkers introduced me to the growing frozen yogurt craze that's made it's way into the Dallas area. We both ventured over to Ihearty one Friday after work because neither of us had been yet. Ok, it's official, I'm a yogurt addict. I live in Rockwall so the numerous fro yo places in DFW are all pretty far and tcby is definitely not anything to compare to Ihearty. The self serve method is great and the place is always really clean, there's someone who cleans up any drips pretty consistently. I like the original tart a lot, it's labeled "Italian original" here, but I also really enjoy the Tahitian vanilla, mango, French espresso and strawberry. I've tried the chocolate before but it's almost too much sweet to have a whole cupful. Have yet to try the peanut butter and I haven't seen the green tea flavor here yet. The fruit toppings are always really fresh, they refill them really often. I don't think they're frozen but if they are, you can't tell. Mochi is fab and the candy selection is pretty extensive but I usually just go for strawberries, mochi and fruity pebbles or kiwi and raspberries. Like someone else said, the cup sizes are freaking enormous so be careful when you're filling up or you might end up spending upwards of $6 for one cup especially at 40 cents an ounce. However, compared to a place like Orange Cup, you're getting a lot more yogurt and toppings for your money because of the self serve. Also, the seating inside is extremely limited and the clear plastic chairs are super uncomfortable. My least favorite thing though is the blaring music that they play, it's always house/techno-esque music turned up way too loud. read more

Very tiny yogurt place tucked away in a strip mall. Strangely, the night we went, the patrons were a mixture of seniors (by seniors I mean elderly people), tweens, and then my 20-ish friends sitting awkwardly on some stools. It feels a little more casual than some frozen yogurt places I've been to, with fewer flavors of froyo and fewer toppings, but I think they did their espresso right, and the orange sorbet was delicious. It's unfortunate I love creamy and tangy--it's so hard to create an appropriate barrier between the two so they don't melt and mix together. This place is truly as good as it gets when it comes to yogurt. I've been here a few times and enjoyed it more each time. They have a variety of flavors depending on what you like; I've enjoyed flavors like Tahitian vanilla, mango, and chocolate. Hands down the best part about this place is the toppings. It's all self serve, from the amount of yogurt in your cup to the toppings, so you can make it EXACTLY the way you want it (for me this is a huge point in its favor). They have pretty much any topping you want--candy and fresh fruit. I've tried both and was surprised to find that I enjoyed the fruit toppings much more than the candy. I don't do ice cream or frozen yogurt often, but I Heart Yogurt is without a doubt the best I've ever had. read more

The flavors were great and the toppings abundant. I loved the Tahitian vanilla and green tea. Both were amazing. The green tea was just tart enough. Roomie mixed kiwi with green tea and said it was serendipity of how good it was. I sprinkled fruity pebbles and mochi pieces on mine. Um, for the win? The cups are HUGE so portion appropriately, that 40 cents an ounce thing adds up quick. I got a great amount of yogurt and toppings for $4.50. That's about how much I would have paid at Berry Berry for two flavors and one topping. I think its pretty safe to say that I heart I Heart Yogurt and I will be back! read more

The hubby and I tried this one without the kids along AND the place was deserted except for us. Not completely strange to be slow on a Friday afternoon, but still... NO ONE? Just means we didn't feel rushed and were able to take our time. The flavors were all traditional and by that I mean, typical Original Tart, Vanilla, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, etc. etc. etc. They have 5 or 6 machines, so it's a pretty good selection. The topping bar was smaller than some other froyo shops I've been to, but I still got what I wanted. And it was all good... creamy, not icy. The decor was a bit bright for my taste, and the writing on the walls told you exactly who HEARTS this location of iheartyogurt. Teenage girls. BTW - Iheartyogurt is a CA transplant as is Pinkberry, which just opened on the opposite corner of the Preston Royal intersection. Wonder which one will last the longest? Haven't tried Pinkberry yet... but I've at least figured out when and what day to go so there won't be a line! read more
