When I first got here I thought, 'wow this place is nice' but then I experienced the horrible, rude, hostile customer service and realized why a nice place can be ruined by bad service = such a shame! I showed up and I was literally the only customer in the store and there were 4 employees so I thought I might get good service (as opposed to all the low star reviews that had bad service) but Nope, not even a 4 to 1 employee to customer ratio could give good service at this store as I interacted with all 4 employees: employee#1) the girl who took my order had no idea what she was doing so employee# 2) the second girl had to help her - she was fine despite me having to pay 2 times since the first time she forgot to charge me for my drink # 3) the younger man with glasses haphazardly threw the ingredients on my bagel sandwich in a hurry and only put cream cheese on one side of the bagel then the toppings on top so nothing was on the top of the bagel the half was just plain and wouldn't even stay together with my lox sandwich employee# 4) the fourth employee was the hostile male manager who yelled at me that if I want cream cheese on both sides of the bagel I have to pay extra money! Like really?!! What kind of crappy bagel store charges extra money to get plain cream cheese on both sides of a lox sandwich???!!!???? I could totally understand them charging me extra money if I wanted more lox (smoked salmon) or even more capers or onions but charging me extra money to put plain cream cheese on both sides of the bagel instead of just one side of the bagel?!? Come on now that is just ridiculous!!!! I even got my bagel without tomatoes so if this bagel store is so cheap and chintzy that they charge extra for cream cheese on both sides of the bagel you'd think I could put the cost saved of not getting any tomato towards the extra cream cheese. But nope - instead I got yelled at about my 'unrealistic expectations' of having cream cheese on both halves of the bagel. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!! Then he finally told me he would do it for me just this one time for free if I didn't give them a bad review but screw that - I will keep my integrity and write my bad review and he can keep his precious hoarded cream cheese that he'd just charge me extra for the next time. Decided to try this out while in town for an event. Well, $17 later I am widely disappointed. I ordered two breakfast bagel sandwiches. The spinach bagel was dry and stale, I ordered it with bacon and they put some burnt circle of dog treat on it, instead of real bacon. They only put cream cheese on one side. The food wasn't hot. It is obvious they served yesterday's bagels. I ended up throwing my sandwich away, which means I threw $8 away. This place has a flat out unbeatable system. It gets PACKED and if the line is out the door, they still move fast. They won't accept phone orders most of the time so don't try calling ahead. Got recommended a solid combo #6 with garlic and herb cream cheese and a drink for 14 ish bucks. Everything was perfectly portioned and made me instantly full and loved the taste and quality. The only qualm I had would be that the cream cheese was kinda overpowering and all over the place making the bagel not really able to hold its shape and it costed I believe 4-5 bucks to have it flavored.
