I love pho! I really do~. This place is actually really good! I was dragged here by my mom saying it was her go to pho place when hanging out with her friends (note to self: avoid going there during lunch) I ordered the P12 and some egg rolls. The broth wasn't oily like other places which is a good thing people, and the egg rolls were probably sitting in a oven heater because they came out really fast after I ordered them, but they were okay too. I actually like going to this pho during the day because of the lighting. When it's dinner time they dim the lights a lot and well they have these overhead lights for some seats that make people look like zombies..hehe. Will most likely go there again~ read more

Yelp is truly a blessing and a curse. Before I talk about this restaurant, I want to mention I almost didn't try this place out bc of the poor ratings. After briefly looking at the one and two star reviews, I have surmised that it's all pertaining to customer service. The best one is where they know when the restaurant is closing they know the kitchen closes before the actual time the restaurant closes and still decide to sit and take their time ordering... rude AF. Y'all want authentic food without the authentic atmosphere. The servers don't check on you because they want to leave you alone to enjoy the meal, ask for a refill if they aren't looking at you simple as that. ANYWAYS, place is clean, I've been and smelled WAY worse lol and food is damn good. Menu was extensive and I am excited to come back to try other stuff. Had a runny nose and sore throat so pho was an excellent pick me up. Pho broth isn't too sweet which I like a lot. Service was prompt in water, ordering and checking out. Busy as always! Nice & friendly staff but there tends to be confusion & miscommunication often! Their intentions are good so give yourself some time to get use to the service! I ordered my favorites to go: Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl w/ eggroll and a Pork Banhmi Sandwich! Usually they're on point but this time the Vermicelli Bowl was a huge disappointment! I would give it 3 stars because of the food, but it's clean here compared to a lot of other places, and always busy ( = fresh food). Portions are generous, about the same as other pho restaurants. I Luv Pho is accross the street from my condo. This is not an accident. I Luv Pho is, by far, the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. It might get some competition from some of the restaurants in Arlington, but it stands tall as king of Irving. Order the pho bo kho. You will not be disappointed. Also, always get the extra large. It's much bigger than the large and not much more expensive. Expect perfectly cooked noodles, a flavorful broth full of vegetables and big chunks of tender beef. And it's super cheap! I know it's weird but usually when I go to a pho restaurant, I get the bo kho which is the beef stew. I am a fan of Chinese and Vietnamese beef stews. Anyways, this place had the best bo kho I've ever tasted! This bo kho was different from others because it was a thin soup instead of a thick stew. I really liked that it was a soup! Usually the bo kho I have at other places just has thick stew that ends up getting congealed fat at the top, yuck. There was no such problem with this bo kho. And they let me sub the regular noodle for the flat rice noodle which is my fav. And of course the flavor of the broth was excellent! I can't really describe it but just go and try it! Anyways, I would give this place a 5 star just on the bo kho alone, but I had one setback. My hub got the lemongrass beef and I tasted it. It had zero seasoning in it. So sad. He had to order a new dish because he couldn't finish the flavorless dish. But other than that, I'd say this place is a good place to go for some noodles. =) read more

Another good Pho restaurant. This location makes Pho that is just as tasty as any other "I Luv Pho" location which is great. Above average pho in the Irving area. INTERIOR: Very spacious. The restaurant stretches far to the left and right with the cashier in the middle. They also have high ceilings and glass windows all around, so it's a nice view since you're at the very top of a hill. SERVICE: All their servers seem younger than at most pho restaurants. More fashionable too. However, they are all very friendly and helpful! FOOD: The bowl sizes come in large or extra large. The beef is actually more tender than most places I've been to, and the broth also tastes beefier. I was pretty disappointed when I came here yesterday though because they definitely skimped on the vegetables (one stem with only 4 mint leaves on it?!) and the bean sprouts weren't fresh. When I worked in Las Colinas, this was in my regular rotation. Their banh mi and spring rolls are pretty excellent. The pho isn't as good as Pho Que Huang, so I don't make the schlep from Dallas to LC for this place. This place is always so crowded at lunch and why went the first cold day of the year I will never know. I actually didn't get the pho this time I got pork chops with broken rice. It was good the chops marinated and although very thin because there were 2 that was plenty. I like the fact it comes with just broken rice and some fresh veggies. I was pleased with my meal. I've had the pho before it's okay I've just had better at other places. I actually prefer the rice dishes here and the banh mi more. I like for a lunch spot when we get there early enough. Ok...I disagree with a lot of these reviews for this place. I live down the street from the restaurant so I dine here semi-frequently - maybe a couple of times a month. The service definitely isn't great...but honestly folks...what *real* Asian restaurant is? Any true Asian "foody" will tell you that good Asian food is inversely proportional to the service. All the times I've eaten here I've never really had an issue flagging down a waiter/waitress or getting my order in. I will admit the staff definitely not as attentive but as I've pointed it out - you don't go to real Asian restaurants for the service. Their food is the real highlight. If you eaten at your average Vietnamese pho restaurant and you've paid attention to what kind of meat they were serving you'll quickly realize that this restaurant actually uses good meat in their pho. The meat is thinly sliced and comes out soft and tender...this is quality meat folks...not the general chewy misc meats you find at most pho restaurants. That to me is what is most important at a restaurant...the food. If you want good service and bad food...stick to PF Chang's. If you like Vietnamese food and pho, I highly recommend you at least TRY this place first and make your own judgment - If you want company...I'll come join you. :P read more

my first restaurant to try in Dallas! coworkers rave about how good this pho place is, and i have to try it out. pho was a-ok. ordered large tai bo vien. broth was clear and clean. pho noodles were very soft, you can say, too soft? the bowl itself is huge and filled with broth, that makes everything else looks little. like how there's not a lot of meat in my bowl. bf had com bo luc lac. had a hard time explaining to waiter that i wanted flavored/yellow/fried rice.... i honestly did not know that it was called yellow rice since it was my first time and waiter was no help offering substitution for white rice. beef was very tender and had good amount of oyster sauce? on it which makes it very flavorful. yellow rice was very interesting. i just hope it's not just food coloring. overall, it was a good experience, but not worth the drive if you don't live in Irving. read more

I got my soup within 7 minutes after my order was placed and I must say I was pretty pleased with what came back. One great giant bowl of chicken Pho with endless noodles. Also along with the bowl was a side plate with 2 handfuls of bean sprouts, basil leaves, cilantro and lime. Every table has a station with soup spoons, chopsticks and your sauces. Overall, I was pretty pleased with my Pho, flavor was on point, and the quantity satisfying. It could have been just a little hotter in temperature, but it was hot enough. Service: They aren't very attentive to your needs after you order food but honestly it's not too critical. If you need a refill just walk up to the counter. They know me so well, they know what I'm ordering by sight. I've even been asked to try something else, but I just can't bring myself to do so. A bowl of Pho, anything but the P11 is a waste of my time. They cut their limes weird and they're usually a bit on the bitter side, but other than this, it's an overall stellar experience. My wife has me a bit burned out on going EVERY WEEK since sometimes she really craves pho, but out of all the places I've tried in Dallas so far, this place has my favorite soup base and the best cuts of filet mignon. Pho is supposed to be a personal experience. You either like the soup or you don't. It's like an italian family and pasta. No one does it better than their family's. Out of any of the Pho Que Hong locations or some of the locally owned shops I've been to, this is my favorite. Wife has enjoyed the short ribs and several of the other dishes she's sampled. What can I say? This is the yardstick by which I measure pho. Seriously. This is the second place I have ever eaten pho (the first being Pho V Noodle House in Hurst, which is my second favorite). Came to I Love Pho with co-workers one day a few years ago, and this has been my go-to place ever since. I can't imagine how much cash I have dropped here. Since then I have eaten pho all over the country. At trendy pho places. At dirty little Vietnamese restaurants. In the Tenderloin in San Francisco. I can't find anything better, Of course, I'm a native Midwestern white boy, so maybe I know nothing about traditional Vietnamese food. But I know what I like, and the pho at I Love Pho is incredible. The broth is something I could drink from a mug on a cold winters day. The meat is rare and chewy. I don't know where they get their beef tendon but I haven't had tastier tendon anywhere. I recently just moved to the neighborhood and I had to look for a Vietnamese restaurant, naturally, since I am Vietnamese! It is a very spacious restaurant, servers are courteous and they actually refill drinks for you unlike a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. I have had their pho tai chin, banh mi ca ri, eggrolls, & spring rolls (not all in one visit!). Pho Tai was typical, nothing over the top but quick to come out after you've ordered it. My friend got the tripe with it, not sure why, it was disgusting. Egg rolls & spring rolls are great, ingredients were exactly what I expected so I was pleased with that. I love the banh mi ca ri there, i always order it. I haven't had the chance to try their other dishes but they have a good variety to choose from. The place is nothing more than average, but it does fill your cravings for Vietnamese food. read more
