I had to take stars away namely for location and then ambiance/setting of this place. It is old and dirty! We moved the sauce/utensil tray over to find sticky grime stuck to the table -- we had to move tables because it was so unappealing. We ordered Pho Tai and they only had size large and x-large on the menu. Was confusing cause our bowls were pretty regular sized. Strange way of pricing. If I pay $8 for a large, I better get a larger bowl. However, it tasted good. Meat wasn't too chewy. Finished my entire bowl (just proof that it was not a huge portion because I never finish-- not a heavy eater.) Service was subpar. This place is good. Everytime I went here, service was fine. I know it's not the greatest service but it's more than acceptable. Food is ALWAYS GOOD.... I always add lots of condiments to my pho so does my friend. I have tried their Pho and it is maybe the 2nd best place I have had Pho. I tried their tofu one, and the broth was flavorful and warm and made my tummy happy. It was also a very very huge portion and I tried to finish it all but couldn't! I have also tried their bubble tea before! I had no idea they had bubble tea, but when I was looking for the other boba tea next door, I saw this place and thought I came to the right place. I've been here twice now and its fantastic! This second time, we came by in the height of lunch service and the place was seriously packed! We waited 5 to 7 minutes and they quickly got a table cleaned up and we were seated. Waiter service is fast and I love that there is a hunk of orange in the water. Weird how a simple change versus lemon or lime in merely water can be so memorable. Anyway, the Large is the smaller of the two Pho bowl sizes, and that always makes me laugh. So I got the P14, brisket and tendon- with the addition of extra tendon. The best part? They actually put extra tendon in it! If you read several of my other reviews, you'll know that regularly I don't get any tendon, so this was great. Huge pieces of it, too. I used to go here regularly when I lived in Irving. The name says it all and I must say I luv I Luv Pho. It's your basic Vietnamese restaurant - not a lot of bells and whistles. I always get the meatball/filet pho, a shrimp spring roll and some boba tea. I don't think there's a more fun drink than boba tea. Pho comes served with sprouts, limes and various other leafy things to dress it up. They also have an assortment of other non-pho dishes, but I've never bothered. I luv pho! When we started dating, my boyfriend informed me that he hated pho (which I've recently learned is pronounced "fu," not "foe" as I've been saying for years). This seemed very odd to me given his other food preferences, so I dragged him here and he admitted he'd just been to the wrong pho places. So now he's a believer. I recently got daring and brought a 5 year old here. I wasn't sure what to expect, but she LOVED her "chicken noodle soup" and thought that slurping the black tapioca balls through the straw for her melon boba tea was the best thing ever. She even loved the spring rolls: at first she freaked over the odd texture of the rice paper wrappers, but took a bite and her entire face lit up. Over lunch she informed her mother that I am now cooler than mom is. (That went over well.) So boyfriends and 5 year olds agree...I Luv Pho is a winner. read more

The pho here is excellent. The broth is rich in flavor. Best pho for the money in Dallas...so far (5/26/09). I always get the pho with thin sliced filet and meatballs. The broth looks clean and tastes rich..a good feeling after a night of drinking. And once you order it, it comes out in less than 5 minutes. The plate full of veggies to go with your pho are fresh and not wilted or rotted - bean sprouts, mint, cilantro, lime and sliced jalapeños. I let mine sit for awhile for the broth to take on some of the flavor. As I wait, I crunch down on the egg rolls. It's not the best for the money, but it's okay. I would continue to keep getting it even though it's 2.75 for 2. I've tried the cold spring rolls (pork+shrimp) and they're okay too. I'm not a big fan of cold rolls. Their grilled pork(?) cold rolls are goood too. I've tried their grilled pork banh-mi. I would pass on getting this again. my meat was found underneath a massive amount of pickled dai-con (radish) and carrots. The meat is suppose to be massive not complimentary in a sandwich. The bread is great for the sandwich. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would love this sandwich if their meat wasn't miniscule. They need to quadruple the meat and maybe add some kind of spread of patée at the bottom. There was no cilantro either which was b.s. From friends, I hear the grilled plated dishes are okay. I never eat Vietnamese Bun.. it's gross. I don't have the stomach for cold noodle dishes. The people there are great and energetic, not like other pho places where they take your order as soon as you sit down and after they bring you food, they don't ever come back. But sometimes this place have that neglect you get at other pho joints. I gave this place 3 stars ...a great 3 stars for the pho only and they keep the restaurant well maintained. Very happy about this place - especially the "not having to wait more than 3 minutes to get a table during the workday lunch-rush" factor. Score! But it took me 5 times longer than it should have to find it because located a bit off the main road and up on a dang hill... I had P16 - your general flank steak and meatball combo. According to my cousin and lunch companion, the large (regular) size yields not enough noodles and the XL size yields too many noodles. So we got one of each and proceeded onward towards pho harmony. It's was also nice that the pricing difference between the two sizes is mere pocket change. I thought that it was interesting that ILP uses "filet mignon" as their steak - and the meat did turn out to be super tender and yummy! But their broth was meh... As the boy would say, "it lacks a certain depth". What really threw me off was their ca phe sua da (Viet Coffe & Milk)... I don't know that I liked it...because it was so WEIRD! At first I was like "HOLY CONDENSED MILK this is SO SWEET...and that's when the peanut butter after taste came in. I'm no coffee connoisseur, but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to taste like peanuts... That is by far the strangest ca phe sua da I've ever had. Overall, the food was pretty good. It's hard not to love a place perched on top of a little hill and announces to the world, "I Luv Pho!" ... Seriously, talk about declaring your love for food. The Pho portions are generous and inexpensive, I normally can't even finish the large size. I wonder if people ever consider sharing the x-large, hmm ... More often than not, I see little Asian kids attacking bowls of pho larger than the size of their heads, too cute. I usually get P12 (Filet Mignon & Brisket), but they're all good: the meat is solid albeit not mind-blowing, and the noodle is perfectly cooked. I've tried the Beef Stew (K50) which is like a richer version of pho. I personally find the broth too oily, but the meat is oh-so-tender! The Vermicelli dishes are very satisfying too: they're basically bowls of noodles + meat + veggies without the pho broth. I've had the pork (B61) which is well-seasoned. The restaurant is pleasantly spacious & clean, and the service is fast. The parking lot is connected through stairs to the adjacent strip mall of ethnic restaurants. Post-meal, I like to walk off my stuffed tummy this way, then get bubble tea around the corner. The view from the little hill doesn't hurt either. read more

I visited here for the first time this week after being diverted away from my old favorite Pho que houng because of awful traffic on MacArthur. This place sits atop a quiet hill with a beaming I heart PHO! sign. Cold, wet from the rain and craving some hot soup, how could we resist? Perusing the menu my friends and I all chose a large pho, all conveniently numbered to relay quickly to your server. I decided on a meatball/ filet mignon combo and my other companions went for the simple traditional beef pho. We started off with a order of eggrolls. They were alright. Lukewarm and filling was a little blah as far as vietnamese eggrolls go, but crunchy, so at least they had that going for them. The traditional pho add ons (basil/mung beans etc) come on one communal plate for the whole table. I like this idea, it adds to the family style warmth of a table of friends. The prices were a little higher than the places closer to my house in ft worth/ Haltom city. I'm used to 4.95/5.95 for a small combo beef pho. Here I paid 7.95. Most places have small or large bowls to choose from. At least here they call it like it is. There's the large or extra large bowl. Because when have you ever reallyyy had a "small" bowl of pho? The noodle/broth portion was nearly the same as what I get in Haltom. The meat quantity was what differed. In the bowl there were around 3 quartered meatball pieces and about three shreds of filet. I was a little disappointed. I swirling around my bowl the whole time hoping there was more hiding down at the bottom. My dinner companions seemed to have more meat, so next time I'll stick with the simple beef sirloin pho. BUT, it did taste pretty darn swell. We all ordered Thai tea with boba. Very strong and traditional and not too sweet. Very good. Too bad they ran out of boba an hour before closing. We all wanted another for the road. Despite the minimal meat and absence of boba, we all left super happy and full. -1 star for the lack of protein but I luv Pho gains +1 for how happy we left after cleaning our bowls. Next time I want to try the bahn me which was quite reasonably priced if I recall at a fair $3. SO... my final judgement of this place is...YUM! read more

Definitely do not ever get any of their rice dishes. I tried the com ga xo moi and it was terrible. Not only did they screw up the chicken, it was season with the red bbq sauce you find on the BBQ pork at First Chinese, but the ketchup rice was gross. The chicken is supposed to be soy sauce based. The pho was decent. I'd only come back for the pho. It's better than Pho Que Huong and less expensive than Pho Chateau. read more

2.5 stars. The thing is that i do 'luv' pho--just not at this place. Hackneyed jokes aside, I've been here multiple times and it's just not that great of a place. I've had their pho several times in the past and it's just a bowl of salty broth with noodles in it. There's hardly any flavor (very little aroma from the herbs, or the taste of meat) in the broth; all you get from the broth is lots of salt, not to mention it's a very oily broth so you're left both dehydrated and with that "gross full" feeling (where you're not just full, but you're the kind of full that makes you want to quit on the rest of your day because you're too 'ugh' to do anything with yourself). The most recent time I went (a few days ago), I tried the bo kho (beef stew), expecting it to be a stew. But instead it's pieces of stew meat in a liquid the consistency of pho broth, except darker in color. Wonderful. At least the prices are okay. read more

This is the place my family goes when we can't think of where we want to go to eat. I've been about four times now, and I like it more every time I go. I really like pho, but I normally don't get it when I come here, actually. I DO ALWAYS get fresh spring rolls - they're fantastic! Such a crisp, clean flavor, and the peanut sauce is off the chain too. I like the X100 a lot - assorted meats (chicken, beef, pork, seafood) and vegetables in a brown sauce over fried flat noodles. My mom says that they fry the noodles too hard now, but I like it - the sauce softens it up and makes it extra delicious! The service is really quick, and on the tables, they have sriracha and hoisin sauce in bottles. Also, if you call for takeout, I've never been given a time longer than about 15 minutes, and the food is always ready when I get there. If it's not, there's some barstools and magazines, and also lollipops!! Oh, a little note I almost forgot about - when I go with my mom, we don't ever have to ask for extra onions, because she always asks for them and they remember! In my opinion, this is the best pho place in Las Colinas. There are a number of other places in DFW where the pho is better, but I don't believe Las Colinas offers any better. The pho noodle bowls come either in large or extra large (go figure) and are both nicely sized so you should feel pretty good about either choice. The beef is tender and the soup stock is good. No complaints here about too much MSG or anything like that. The coffee is nice and strong, but then most of these places have some solid coffee. The service here is good and I have no complaints about it. They are fast and courteous, which is all that I can really expect from them. It can get a little busy during lunch time and it may be hard to come with a large party, but it's perfect if you only have 2 or 4 people during their peak hours. read more

This is my go to Pho place when I stay in Dallas, the Las Colinas area, for business. Not much in the area for Pho though. Good broth, good meat. Pho Tai thinly sliced and sometimes still rare. This is a frequent lunch spot. There's not too much of a wait, maybe 5 minutes max. Good pho and other Vietnamese dishes. This is considered northern pho. The seafood noodle soup isn't bad as well! I've also had take out from here, and it's fast. I would say the pho quality is aight, not as good as Little Saigon in Socal or South San Jose, but it hits the spot when I"m missing some pho. What I've learned about PHO is that when you find a good vietmanese restaurant, you stick with it. I found that out living in Southern California. Although I lived in Rancho Cucamonga (and had several VIET restaurants there) I would drive to Corona just to go to one that was up to my standards. I.E. Cleanliness, quality/freshness, service, general ambiance overall. I LOVE PHO has proven to be just that (and luckily it's relatively close to my domain). The service is prompt and prices reasonable. My PHO is always piping hot and the servers know my order before I state it. EXTRA LARGE P12 with white onions on the side; what more could you ask for? The drinks however, leave a bit to be desired. I've tried my luck with both the Thai Tea and the Iced Coffee w/condensed milk but would most likely avoid the "specialty drinks" here in the future. (Too small, not strong enough, not sweet enough, etc.) I'll stick with water w/lemon from now on. There's a "Bubble Tea" place in the same plaza (See my review for Cafe Boba Tea). All-in-All I would give "I LUV PHO" a "4 out of 5" and would recommend it to both first timers as well as connoisseurs alike. read more

Ehh.. The food wasn't really appealing to me. Well sure they serve you in big portion but the taste is just not as good as I expected according to the Yelp ratings. There were several unclean tables, finished dishes left unclean for several minutes. Waiter was very... Uhm awkward. I don't know if he was just too shy to talk to me.. He took forever to give us water, served us our food and never came back. It would have been convenient if he told us that we had to pay upfront because my girlfriend and I were just waiting for our check. Well I'm not a big fan of this place. Since my last review, things have changed. I used to stop here frequently as it's on my way home. About half the time the food was great and half the time it was bland, but it was cheap and convenient. Sometimes they get the order wrong but no big deal. The reason why I'm giving them one star is that the last three times they've overcharged me. The first time I didn't notice until I got home and attributed it to an error. The second time they overcharged me by $5 and I had it fixed. Last week they overcharged me $8. I will not come here again. read more

I've been to this place many times but recently it seems to have gone down hill. The place isn't very clean and the bathrooms are down right dirty. Two days ago I sat a table that smelled like a sour wash cloth and had to move. Luckily there were many empty tables at dinner time and finding another table was easy. More importantly, the quality, the flavor, and the food was terrible. The waiter, who was hispanic said the cook and everybody in the kitchen were non-vietnamese. Ahh I think I'm "luving" this place! Came here for lunch for the first time and was impressed with the large portions for the price. I heard it was known for pho and noodle soups, but today I was craving rice and ordered the broken rice dish with pork chop, pork rice cake, shredded pork and sunny side egg (egg was an additional charge). Everything was good...not too salty or bland. The only drawback of this place is their payment system. Instead of the usual splitting one check for a group, they make you wait in line with customers paying one at a time while the item on the ticket is being crossed out. I think this is a bit inefficient if you're going with a group and the line is getting longer. Definitely inconvenient for customers that need to get back to work, but I guess some Vietnamese restaurants still use this payment system. read more
