Beef Tofu Soup; Follow me @RimyEats on Instagram

So glad I found this spot right before flying back from Spokane. I also really wanted the kalbi tang but ended up on the tofu soup. This tofu soup was unique to me since the tofu was more firm and also cubed. I'm use to having soft tofu. The beef was actually super tender and like a brisket vs chunks of beef. The broth was great though, flavorful and not salty. The banchan was alright, I've had better. Overall, a good experience and I'd be back. Staff was friendly and there was a parking lot right outside of the restaurant.

I got the soft tofu soup, which I absolutely loved. The staff working was extremely nice and when I ordered my soup they even clarified what level of spiciness I would like. I chose to go for a 2 star spice level so that I could still enjoy the flavors of the dish. The soup obviously contains soft tofu as well as an egg, but the restaurant also allows you to add one thing of your choice. The options were vegetables, kimchi, beef, seafood, and fish egg. I chose the beef, and it paired nicely with the soups flavor. The soup is served with a side of rice. The complimentary Ban Chans were also very delicious. The kimchi was definitely not as fermented as others I had, so it had more of a sweeter flavor, but it was still very tasty. If you are ever in the Spokane area and want korean food, this is definitely a great place to go

We've driven by this place often but just stopped for the first time tonight. We were greeted and shown to a booth right away. Is the interior beautiful? Not really, but it's fine. We ordered stir fried tofu that comes with onions and some veggies in a dark, semi-sweet sauce. Plus steamed rice and several little condiments bowls (ban Chan) with kimchi, cucumbers, and more. The tofu dish wasn't huge but was plenty to share. We always order a 1 star at a new restaurant because you don't know how hot it will be. Next time we'll try a 2 star. We also ordered yakisoba with chicken and there were also veggies you could identify. Very good. They have a nice take out menu.

Service was fast and staff was friendly. Food was deliciously prepared. We were asked the level of spiciness and got 2/5. It was just right!! Ban Chan or side dishes were depict.

Absolutely terrible service! I was looking forward to trying this place and I arrived at 8:00 pm to eat. I was told by the server that I could only order to go after 8 pm (the restaurant is open until 9 pm). I told her it is just 8 pm now. She said she doesn't make the rules and I can only order food to go. I asked if I can order to go and sit down and eat at a table. She said no. I said you are willing to lose a customer over a minute on the clock? She said the owner makes the rules and she has to follow them. I walked out and will never go back. Very poor business decision. There were only 4 people in the restaurant.

The more than 1/2 eaten inedible pork bulgogi reported to police.

They called 911 on myself and my daughter for complaining about inedible food. And demanded I pay for it. Customer service under this new ownership is beyond acceptable, the reviews don't lie. House of Seoul in Airway Heights is your best bet!! I've been eating here for years, and have promoted this business more than any restaurants I've dined at. Tonight I ordered food for me and my daughter and received the worst tasting pork bulgogi in my life! It was inedible. I mentioned it to the server, Cherry, and politely asked for the chicken instead and I will pay for the difference, or for it to be remade, or be taken off my ticket. She tried to argue and say they are made different and the chicken is not marinated only the beef and pork is marinated. I'm not dumb, I am a 20yr career chef to know you marinate bulgogi... it even says it on their menu. She declined to make any adjustment. The manager Leo then comes out demanded that it is my order and I WILL pay for it. After going back and forth with him he told me to sue him if I don't like the food. I finished my meal washed my hands and went up to pay my ticket, and Leo was on the phone with 911 giving them my description and daughter's, saying I'm am refusing to pay after I ate more than half of the food(fat lie) I asked to speak with the operator and did so. I will NEVER visit establishment and recommend it no more.

Delicious! Service was really great. Very grateful we have access to Korean food in Spokane

I will say that I like the food. But I will also say that eating here is very expensive and if I am given the option to eat at Korean restaurants in Airway Heights that are much more affordable, I will choose those in the future. My daughter's fried rice had frozen mixed peas and carrots in them, and the gyoza were run of the mill ones from a frozen bag you can get at any asian market. I guess lunch specials on the weekdays are the way to go here. But we can go and get those in Airway Heights too.

A pretty solid introduction to Korean food. Ordered a bbq beef platter and kimchi fried rice; tasty. I would come back again. Little pricey.

Great service, good food, my go to tofu craving. I recommend the one tofu soup their kimchi tastes homemade could use a bit heat.

Ask the Community - I Love Tofu

Is the staff knowledgeable on what vegan food is?The name says tofu but the reviews seems to highlight mostly meat dishes...

They have a few menu items that 'look' like they'd be vegan, but I'd wonder about some of their soup options. Could be a chance they made their stock/broth in a traditional bone-boiled manner. And some items, like their Bibimbap, can be made with…

How much vegetarian food is there? I include any fish products as NOT vegetarian. Thanks!

Good options to select from. Bibimbaps made with tofu, Buckwheat noodle dishes (hot & cold), Kimchi Fried Rice, Soybean Paste, and Kimchi Soup. I think you'd be fine here...

Walked in for lunch and told I could sit anywhere. Hard rock and grunge music playing. Casual spot for a bite to eat. Server took my order. Had to try the clam chowder given their name. Also got their Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. The clam chowder was lukewarm and just ok. Not sure why they have the name "Chowderhead???" Nashville hot sandwich was REALLY GOOD! They served it with a "pickle pico" and that was ingenious and really worked! Chicken was moist too. Went to the counter to pay and I HATE IT when restaurants do this, but it defaults to 20% or 25% or 30% tip!!!! This place is a super casual diner with grunge music and you want me to tip you 30% for taking my order and dropping off the sandwich??? Yes I know there is a button to touch to manually enter another amount but this is wrong! I usually tip between 20 and 22% but I like to do it because I choose to, not out of manipulation. In the end I liked the sandwich. Chowder was nothing special. Location is poor and service is OK. Tells you how much I liked the sandwich to still give them 4 stars!!!
