Drove by this spot cause I was craving vermicelli. Ch4cked out reviews and they looked pretty positive. Walked in around lunch not very many people and got sat quick. Ordered my pork and shrimp vermicelli and within maybe 10min if not sooner it was out. Looked really appealing. Ordered an egg roll with it thos is the first place that chops it up and puts it in my Vermicelli im not mad at it it was pretty damn good. Only issue I had was I widh it would have had a bit more bean sprouts. Initially I didn't think they had put any nut found it at the bottom of the bowl. All I all it was extremely good. Once I read that this restaurant offers vegetarian pho, I knew I had to go! A couple of friends and I dined here for lunch. Service was friendly. Sadly, I was disappointed with the pho. It was completely bland. I mean, it tasted as if the veggies were boiled in water with no seasoning and then served. Plus, it was not served with mushrooms, which is typical in veggie pho. My favorite though was the shaking beef recommended by one of the employees. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and heat that made me want to keep eating it. Overall, it wasn't great. I ordered a beef pho, eggrolls and an iced coffee. The smell when you walk in reminded me of a mothball ridden closet. Not the best thing to smell inside of a restaurant. The food lacked in all areas. The eggrolls were clearly frozen. The inside were complete mush and cold. The pho lacked flavor. Couldn't taste any of the traditional spices, no green onions and it overall tasted sour. I've never known Vietnamese coffee to be weak, until today. I was craving pho on a rainy day and decided to come here for lunch, seeing it was nearby. I was with a group of people and it took a while to get our orders into the system, but it took even longer for our food to come out. It was surprising because I would expect pho to have a faster prep time than noodles, but by the time my pho came out, most of the people at my table with orders other than pho was already halfway done with their food. The pho was not very memorable, either. The broth was bland and the chicken had an odd aftertaste. I couldn't finish it and didn't feel quite satisfied at the end of my meal. My overall score is 3.5/5 This restaurant is located in a pretty busy area in MacArthur Blvd, and is placed on a miniature hill for you to climb to reach. Wanted to make sure I ordered items that are very ubiquitous to a Vietnamese restaurant, because I always like to gauge that every time I try a new place. I ordered the shrimp rolls as an appetizer. It was stuffed with bean sprouts (I love bean sprouts), beautifully cooked shrimp and other veggies all filled in a rice wrapper. It came with a peanut dipping sauce which turned out to be a lifesaver because the shrimp roll was unfortunately not seasoned on the inside. For mains I opted for the Pho Tai Bo Vien, which is a beef noodle dish, that comes with filet cuts of beef and meatballs in a dark and rich broth. The broth, which is numero uno when it comes to judging pho was on point. So flavorful and tasty. The portion size is HUGE and I managed every drop of it. What I couldn't complete were the noodles, because they were overwhelming in the amount. I wish I had more pieces of meat (don't we all). read more

This was by far the worse pho we've ever had in our lives. The noodles were overcooked and tasted like a wet rag. Zero to little aromatics in the broth, which I suspect they are using just powder to flavor. To be honest this should not even be called pho, and it was seriously so bad it was offensive. Embarrassing display of a few little pieces of meat and meager portion. I received a bowl of watered-down stew. Here is the bottom line. Get it together or go home. A nice little pho place! We came by for lunch and it was easy to find this place since it's in a stand-alone building by itself. The interior (see picture) is nice and spacious with plenty of natural lighting, which I enjoy for any meal experience. I ordered the Pho Seafood here. For the price, the portion size is decent value. The broth is flavorful and smooth. The seafood however could be a bit better - while I got five shrimp, which is on the better end #-wise, they all lacked tasted, probably because they were overboiled or not super fresh. Great spring rolls. 2 to an order Fresh easy to bite rice paper. Fragrant greens and well cooke firm tofu and shrimp. My peanut sauce was flavorful and had a generous amount of crushed Peanuts. Made for great presentation. A guy came in just minutes after me. He knew what he wanted then sat to wait. The lady behind the counter offered him a drink as well. He gladly asked for iced water. I could hear laughter coming from the kitchen. The lady would go back and forth. A smile constantly on her face. Seemed like everyone was truly happy to be there; Makes a difference in the service and preparation of the food. I got the charbroiled pork with eggroll on rice instead of vermicelli Extra fish sauce. Theirs has chili paste mixed into it. Just enough heat to compliment the sweet tangy. So good! Great portion. I shared it with another FA. It's the first time since I can remember that I've had pork so tender. Plenty of veggies on top. She packed utensils and chopsticks without me even asking. Such thoughtful service. And the iced tea I ordered was just right. I didn't get to finish the one I had at the bar so she served another to take with me. If you haven't stopped here you need to. Ahh...the classic I Luv Pho that I know and love! I am back to being a fan. Way to listen to your customers and make the appropriate changes. Loving the portion sizes on the to go orders. I ordered a regular white meat chicken pho and it was HUGE! Easily enough for two soup meals. Love the freshness of the cilantro and basil, as well as the jalapenos on the side. It took me back to the days where I used to hit up this place all the time after teaching classes at the 24 in Valley Ranch. It is just a fresh delicious meal that is clean and not a lot of additives. You can make it as spicy as you want and ask for extra sriracha. I like this as a to go option because they pack everything in a way that is very organized and you can take it home and put it in one of your pretty bowls with the chopsticks if you so desire. Also a perfect meal if you're feeling under the weather. This is the number one option for me in the Irving area for this style of cuisine. And while it's not the best pho option in DFW, it certainly is a great option if you're in the Las Colinas\Valley Ranch corridor of Irving. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located on top of a hill, I Luv Pho actually has some nice views of Irving. Inside you'll find the makings of a simple, yet clean restaurant. There's a good mix of small & large tables, a central station with the cash register, and a few TVs. Simple but unforgettable. 1/2 Star. Service - Service is hit and miss. But one thing I will say is they're quick once you put in your order. But one more than one occasion, once you put in your order & your food comes out, that's pretty much the last time you'll see someone until you go up to pay. It's common in many Vietnamese restaurants as you pay at the front, so there's usually no need for a follow up. But like I said, they're fast at getting food out, so kudos as lunch people need to get back to work. 1/2 Star. Food - Ok, the pho is not the best, but it's not bad. I bit on the bland side, and I will admit Pho Bang in Garland is still my measuring stick. That being said, the portions are generous, veggies fresh, and they have a large, diverse menu.
