Owner, Ryan (first name; also known as his Vietnamese name, Tu) is very devoted to his customers, always aiming to please. For men, best beautician is a lady named Thao. She is very hard working and always aims to give you the best haircut. Honestly, I really don't like leaving bad reviews but man, this haircut... Yesterday I came in on a whim because the salon I usually go to got hair dye on my shirt so I wanted to go to another place. I decided to go to Winn's Salon since I used to go here when I was in my teens. Let's just say that it wasn't the best decision I've ever made in my life... Yesterday I walked in (no appointment, so I'll take the fall for that) and was able to go in immediately. I went and got my hair washed and what not and then my hair was blow dried, straightened and cut. I thought it was kind of weird that they cut my hair dry, but I just let it go. I also should have realized something was up when I only heard a razor and no scissors... So he finished up my cut (I'm pretty sure it was the owner, I read the cosmetology license and it said Ryan Winn) and he showed me the back and it looked fine at the time, and I paid $25 and tipped and walked out. DON'T DO THAT. CHECKED THOROUGHLY BEFORE YOU WALK OUT. When I came home, I looked at my mirror and I was confused... and then mortified. I asked for a one length trim and the two sides in the front were two different lengths. And then the shorter side has strands that hadn't been cut... it was quite the disaster. I had to call my friend who cuts hair to fix it right away because I have work and an event to go to tonight. I'm not going to give this place one star because I feel like I should have been more observant with my own hair, but I'm very disappointed with the haircut I got yesterday. read more

Been going to Winn's Beauty Salon ever since I was a kid. Usually, I get my hair cut from Ryan. He is talented and gives me a great cut for my comb over. In the past, I would ask for shorter hairstyles depending on the season or sports season (shorter hair for swim) and he never let me down. I'd recommend giving a desired hairstyle picture or description to any of the barbers here if you have something in mind. That should be default when visiting any hair cut shop. You could also ask them for recommendations or open any of the plentiful hair style books near the sofa area. After going to college in NorCal, I've gone to different Super Cuts and smaller shops but only one has been on par with Winn's, especially for value. Would highly recommend these guys! read more

I've been going to get my haircut here with Hoang for over a decade, even though I now live in the San Francisco bay area. Prices are very affordable here and Hoang always does a fantastic job on the cut that even as it grows out, it still frames my face nicely and doesn't show that I need a trim. He recently got a position here at Winn's Beauty Salon, and I must say its definitely an improvement over the place he's working over a decade at. Location: The salon is tightly packed into a little plaza off Bolsa between Bushard and Dillow. It's in the corner of the plaza, but there is a sign off of the street that can help lead you in the right direction. Parking: It has a tiny lot, but you probably don't have to worry too much about getting a spot. Inside: The salon is well-kept and spacious. There's a modern/Asian decor, but the amenities are roughly the same as any other salon. Service: Basic men's haircut involves haircut, shampoo, and gel. Same ol', same ol'. I've gotten my hair cut here a few times by Tony ever since my friend introduced me to him. The service here is great. Tony cuts hair so quickly and so well. Everyone once in a while he gets a bit OCD and tries really hard to get things perfect but I suppose that's better. I haven't been able to say that for many years. Make sure to call ahead and make an appointment with Tony as he is a very busy man. Also, the plaza that Winn's is located in is very small and can be difficult to maneuver through. read more

Dan is amazing, he's great with women's hair especially a razor cut. For many years, I drove 300 miles from Central California to have him cut my hair and it was worth it every time. I been coming this salon so many times for coloring my hair because I like owners and price is cheap about $40-50 but this time I have to write the negative review because they make me mad and I wont go back anymore. The girl names Tho seems dose not know what she is doing. I use to ask not to have her once but I am ok this time because I calling to walk in. She colored my hair from the front and the center of my head left for 15-20mins for customer hair cut then come back massage my the entire head with the dye and left me sitting for almost 1:30 hrs and i still be patient because I saw she was busy with two customers hair cut however it turns out my head has two colors the front and center looks so light brown and the entire head still my previous color of blonde. I asked the owner that it looks different and all they said because of the bad light and didnt show any sincere or pay attention of this mistake. My bf waited for 20 minutes to get a haircut and the young guy kept saying someone will be with him. 3 Guys walked in after him and they cut their hair before his. And they didn't have an appointment either or else I would've understood. Ridiculously rude employees. When I went to the salon, I asked to trim 1 inch off and layer my hair as well. Winn did not cut my hair. Another worker did. He cut off 3 inches, attempted to layer my hair but failed, and charged me more money than he should've. Right now, I have uneven hair. It goes from shortest to longest, left to right. I'm not a regular at this place bc my haircuts have always been done right that I don't really need a trim or recut that often. So after a wonderful service here today I decided that they now deserve my time for a review. I like this place bc most hair stylists are males (most are straight) so there's no female intimidation/uncomfortable gossips like at other places. These men work efficiently to get through their appointments but thoroughly to make their customers happy. I made an appt to come in for a trim to chop off the dry ends of my hair. Got there 15 min late bc of traffic and Tony was great to accommodate me. Took me in for a wash and was careful to not splash water on my face by covering my face with his hard. I thought that was thoughtful of him. He even remembered my sisters and asked about my family. After I told him I wanted a trim he suggested a shorter cut to get rid of all the dry layers I had so I thought what the heck go for it. I was not so keen at the short length he gave me but after seeing how perfect it was I love it instantly. He literally spent two hrs on my hair and only charged me $25 which made me feel bad for tipping him so little (sorry Tony I will tip you double next time I come in). During the time he worked on my hair he kept getting calls for drop ins and he kept telling them not to come in bc he's working on my hair and he won't be able to get to them on time . When I told him I have somewhere to go and he doesn't need to work on it so long he told me he would never let me leave unless he's happy with the cut himself. Literally two hours later he's still working on it and even made his own father, who came in for a cut, wait for his own turn after me. Everyone is nice there at the salon and they keep their convo lively so it's a comfortable environment. I think this is will be my new salon from now on.
