In the past I have tried to secure a spot at the Flower Mound CAC, but signing up on their website is akin to buying concert tickets. As soon as registration opens you have about a nanosecond to hit the button or you're out of luck. It doesn't help that the pool of lifeguards (pun intended!) keeps shrinking every year resulting in fewer classes. Just as I was ready to give up my search and throw in the towel (pun intended again!) I discovered Lakeside Aquatic Club. Their classes are held year round at the LISD natatorium/Westside Aquatic Center. It's an indoor facility so parents can watch comfortably out of the unforgiving Texas weather. Also, the cost is comparable to the CAC, which is far less than what the local swim schools charge. Students are divided into small groups according to their skill level so they get lots of individual attention. The instructors are experienced and have so much patience with the kids. I also appreciate how quick and concise the communication is. Any time your child advances to the next level by acquiring new skills they will notify you by email the same day. Not only did my son learn a great deal over the summer, he enjoyed every minute of it. I will be happy to enroll him in future classes here, especially without the stress of having to spam the button to be the first in line!

His coach Coach Chrissy is incredible. She's both tough and understanding, and just gets through to these kids. His former coaches Coach Tony and Coach Leslie have all been great as well. We have such supportive families and the kids learn from that! My son swam both club and summer league when we lived up north and neither program compared to what you get from LAC. While the competition can be tough, it's very positive and there is such a great comradely among the kids. In fact, my younger daughter (7) that grew up at pool and said she would never be on a swim team, signed up with LAC in October. She went through the Red and Black teams with Coach Sam. He is perfect for the littles!! She's now in the Bronze group with Coach Leslie and it's so awesome to see her move through the team so quickly with such strong technique. This team is huge but it's an amazing family! As our third swim team experience it knocks the socks off all the others. Thanks LAC for having a great team and great coaches!

My child plays here and the experience has been very good. Her skills have increased and I feel the coaches here care about her outcome. There were temporarily located in Richardson, but have since moved to their permanent location in Carrollton. The facility is huge and it's nice to finally have a volleyball home with the team name. Club Volleyball isn't like recreational volleyball in the sense that there is more of an urgency to win; that being said, it's great preparation for the real world of sports, be it middle school, High School or College level. There are a lot of clubs out there, we choose Excel because we feel the coaches take the responsibility of training our children personally.

There's a big room with lots of gymnastic items for the kids to play with, as well as a jumping castle type item that is just a giant flat jumping pad. For the party there was about three girls working there that were standing by the bigger equipment helping the kids figure it out safely. The parents were in the room with the kids watching and helping their kids as they went around the room. There's a room next to it with glass windows that you can sit and watch at, and where we had cake and pizza. Remember to bring socks to wear in the gym area for adults, most kids are barefoot to prevent slipping.

I was so excited for this program. Then come week two, and we find out our coach is actually coach Phil. He should not be allowed to coach young kids. It's been 3 weeks and he still doesn't care what the kids names are. He's boring and loses the kids interest in seconds. He also doesn't start the class until 7-8 minutes late every single week, and then proceeds to spend another 10 min talking quietly, about things the kids don't even care about. It's such a waste of time. My son, who has done soccer through another program, is also in gymnastics, has NEVER had a problem with listening, now hates soccer and hates going to soccer class. I've asked the other parents in our class what they think and they agree. Their kids are unimpressed and so are they. We are so disappointed and definitely will not be returning.

Great energy, everybody had a blast, and they take care of everything so you as the parent can just relax and take pictures.
