Now that I have kids, we love coming here. They have so much fun getting their flavors. Usually they just get either chocolate or vanilla and they don't get very adventurous with the other flavors. Im not very adventurous either. My go to every time is Tart with Fruity Pebbles. If you haven't had this combo you don't know what you're missing out on. It sounds like an old lady type dessert but really its the best. My kids get the basics and they pile on the toppings like gummy bears, rainbow sprinkles, brownie chunks and other really unnecessary things that no one in their right frame of mind should ever put on a delicious treat. We love coming to Ian's, it's just a short walk from our home. We love that this is a local family spot and affordable treat! We've often met the owner working in the shop! Martinez is a small town and this is our only froyo spot so it is hot hot hot! The froyo is not, it's cold They have so many toppings! They have something for everyone. Fresh fruit, candy, sugar free and sauces! They have lots of flavors and a dairy free one which is great for my lactose intolerant son. They even have a kids table with some toys and outside seating. i love ians yogurt! ive been coming here since i was younger and now come here with my sister! i also now stand outside for déjà vu time to time. the inside could use more decoration but is very family friendly and includes a kids table. (which i find adorable) theres indoor and outdoor seating, i always eat outside due to some noise inside. limited flavors to choose from but a good amount of toppings, maybe too much but im not complaining, i love my toppings!! i enjoy the little time that im here, four stars to sum up! read more

I like the variety at this shop. Belgian chocolate and dole are my current favs. Only reason why I gave three stars is because every time I have been here the owner doesn't even say hi and is so serious it makes you feel like you are not welcomed. Fro-Yo Boy Here! Since my return from Iowa last week, I have become a "lean", "mean", FTR machine. And there's more to come over the next week or 2 ,as I finish working my way through the Hawkeye State and parts of Minnesota. But after all those Iowa reviews, it was time for what Shakespeare would call a little comic yogurt relief. Ian's blends in with the surrounding John Muir Station stores and it's easy to miss. However, since Ivy, jana, Shannon and the original Fro-yo girl herself (among others) have highly recommended it, I stopped in today between work-related errands. The space itself is a little sparse, but is clean and friendly all around. Seating is also available inside and out. In honour of the MN State Fair and Princess Kay, I tried the Milky Way flavour and blended it in with the Cake Batter choice. There were perhaps 6-8 other flavours available and there were plenty of tasty toppings to choose from. I chose granola because I have a house near Berkeley and I always enjoy a little "crunch" in my life. I'm also cautious in these situations after repeated viewings of "The Non-Fat Yogurt" Seinfeld Episode. But for such an tasty and smooth treat, who cares? read more

I came here to purchase a yogurt and when I asked for two sample cups the employee would not give them to me and insisted on serving me my samples. I'm a grown man, I don't need my hand held. If I'm old enough to make a purchase and spend my own money, I think I can manage to fill my own sample cup. Long story short, they have a limited selection and the employees hound you like used car salesman. I was so disturbed by their service I decided to forgo the yogurt and get a Jamba Juice. This was the first and last time I come here. They could have treated me like an adult and made the customer service enjoyable and I probably would've been a repeat customer. Ian's is located in one of Martinez's shopping centers. Ian's offers a wide variety of yogurt flavors, the ability to swirl, and a multitude of topping! One of my friends had mentioned Ian's to me and recommended that I try since I love the occasional fro yo. After a long day at work, I decided I deserved a treat and decided to stop by. My go-to chocolate and vanilla swirl machine was down, so I decided to try the cookies and cream. I have been avoiding this place for years, being the last time I was in there they skimped me on the yogurt they dispensed them self,(which I believe was under a different owner) which they accurately weighed , which was way overpriced for a tiny amount of just ok yogurt... Reason why avoided this place for so long...Uhh If I had only known they had turned into such a wonderful self serve place!! Cute, clean with plenty of indoor and out door seating. Yogurt flavors of the day were: S.F chocolate Alpine vanilla (Mmmm...Creamy and delicious) Butter Brikle (my fave!!Rich creamy and buttery sweet) Strawberry Kiwi strawberry (non dairy) Hershey mound (good flavor and creamy) Georgia peach Original tart And some other kind of chocolate? They are 38 cents an ounce along with a great selection of of toppings which all appeared to be fresh, clean and well organized. I settled on a small (which they thankfully have small cups, yea!!) half of my absolute favorite- Butter Brikle...Mmmmm sooooo good and Alpine Vanilla -So delicious!! I can assure you Shawna that there are plenty of nice people in Martinez and that maybe you should probably just stay in Pleasanton from now on. ANYWAY, we love Ian's. A small mom and pop yogurt shop located in the corner of the plaza. Google maps got a little confused and told us it was located where a freeway entrance was. There are about 6-7 flavors. I'm a simple yogurt person (I only love tart yogurts) so I didn't mind the smaller selection of yogurts as long as they had a couple of tart options. I did appreciate the butt load of toppings! I like the place. It's centrally located for the area (close to work for my midday cravings- like now!), decently priced (.40/oz, I think) and just enough toppings, but more importantly... There's just the toppings I need: Walnuts, almonds, white chocolate chips, marshmallows and kit kat... with Alpine Vanilla = yummo. Don't judge me. There's quite a few candy varieties and a nice selection of liquid toppings and fruit as well, with about 8ish different froyo flavors, if I recall. (I'm usually pretty focused on my creation at hand; sue me.) I'm not a huge fan of unusual flavors, but I also love the watermelon sorbet and I have heard great things about the root beer float and pomegranate varieties, among others. I think yogurt is an acquired taste as I hated it as a child but love it now! To my amazement my kids love it so we make sure to stop by every time we are in the area. The employees are very courteous and the place is always clean. The gift cards come in handy when someone is having a birthday at work I always make sure to get them one. I LOVE coming here! Owners are family oriented and friendly! Every time I come in I am greeted, and they have no problem with me sampling every flavor if I wanted to (if I haven't been there in awhile). One of the employees there, Kyle, always give me the best service! Always has great input on his favorite flavors as well as knowing what are some good combinations of toppings with specific flavors. Personal favorite would be cake batter, watermelon sorbet, and cookies and cream. They change their flavors almost daily. They also have a punch card -- 10 punches = a free yogurt! read more

I'm a little surprised that I've forgotten to post a review considering I've been checking in here every few days for the last month. Self-serve frozen yogurt is the best! I've been eating frozen yogurt from Yogurt Park/Castle in WC for the last twenty years. I never get toppings because I don't need a mountain of candy on top of my yogurt. I love being able to customize the amount of yogurt and toppings that I want. I typically go for the fruit, and I am not overstating it to say that Ian's has the FRESHEST fruit! I am tempted to just get a bowl of fruit and a dab of frozen yogurt on top, it is that good. Their strawberries are perfectly sweet, and their raspberries are plump and delicious. So glad that friends mentioned Ian's existence. It is only a freeway exit from my house and much more convenient than heading back into PH or WC. Please bring back the Milky Way flavor!!! (Oh, and parking is great, and I think the price is on par with other shops in the area.) BTW, they have a frequent customer stamp card= Bonus! read more

This is by far my favorite place. Better than Yogurtland and Tutti Frutti combined! This place is also a lot closer then the places that I mentioned above. This place is located right next to Kinders (which I never noticed) the map on Yelp is a little of on the location on this place so that is why I decided to mention what it was next to. There is plenty of parking. The place is very clean and unlike Yogurtland and Tutti Frutti there is a lot of room to sit (inside and outside) so you can enjoy your yogurt. There are different cup sizes (unlike the other places) & they even have family size! Which is awesome if you are big yogurt addict like myself! :) There are different kinds of toppings , syrups and fruits. They are all neatly organized and its is very clean! Which makes it even more appealing to look at and want to taste. The cashier was pretty efficient and very friendly, which makes for a better experience. Over all a great experience and will defiantly be back here instead of the other places for frozen yogurt. read more
