Ben was fantastic. My first interaction with him began a few year ago. We were getting an error on our washing machine and based on a recommendation from another repair man that didn't service my area we called IC Appliance Repair. Talking to Ben and explaining our problem, he was more than willing to come by and take a look, but offered some helpful tips to resolve the issue before spending money with him. Well his tip worked an we got another two years out of our washer. Fast forward to 2017 and we started to see that same error again, applying the tips that Ben suggested, the problem was resolved for a short time, however it kept coming back. We called Ben again and he said he was happy to come out, but warned us based on the age of our washer, it may be worth replacing rather than repairing. We wanted to take our chances and scheduled an appointment. The error code came down to a little tiny motor that needed to be replaced. It had to be ordered, but no big deal as we have been living with this for the past few months. After the part came in, Ben showed up, had it installed, and everything is working perfect. We were having trouble with clothing being damaged in the washer or dryer. We thoroughly inspected the appliances to see if there were any sharp edges or other causes, and communicated that to IC Appliance Repair. He charged $60.00 to make a visit. He felt around inside the appliances for awhile, and determined that he also could not detect any sharp edges etc. He did not turn the machines on. He just did the same as we had already done, and then promptly processed a $60.00 payment. We mentioned that we had a recent problem with the oven overhead vent light. It was located about twenty feet from the front door. He said that would cost an additional $60.00. He added that, surprise, it was $60.00 for each appliance, not for a visit, as we had believed. read more

Ben Young, of IC Appliance, came to my home and repaired our 12 yr old dryer. He was quick to assess the situation, made the necessary repair efficiently and cost-effectively. He noticed lots of dust/debris build-up around the vent and asked when the vent had been cleaned last. Who knew! We've lived in the house for 5 yrs and had not had it done and I was very doubtful that the previous owners had. He thoroughly cleaned the vent system and we were amazed at the ton of lint, debris, and who knows what else came out of the vent. Now, we know it should be done every 3-4 yrs based on our personal usage. I asked Ben if he'd take a look at our ice maker that never properly made ice. Ben showed up on time, the cost was what he estimated When we opened door, he noticed the stack of shoes (indicating that we don't wear shoes in the house) and he offered to put on shoe covers. He explained in detail why the igniter keeps burning out after a few years (since it apparently is essentially the only major part in gas ovens) and what the indications are that will precede it going out again. I called Thursday hoping to set an appointment for next day service. They indicated they had no appointments available until Monday. The weekend without a washer, with all the dirt I've been getting into not good for me, bummer. This is where IC Appliance began to show their commitment to customer focus. They said they would work it out for next day between appointments. They immediately told me that Ben would be my technician, and gave me his contact number. First thing Friday morning I called him, hoping to get a window of arrival. When I spoke with Ben, he was very professional. Ben indicated that he could arrive between 10-10:30am. Wow, that's great no phone company or cable hours. You know what mean, when they give those ridiculous arrival times of between 8am-1pm chewing away half your day.. Ok, let me take a deep breath..Haaa. ok, I feel better now. Well not with IC Appliance, Ben gave me a convenient and real people friendly appointment and arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule, very nice, that's what I call customer focus/service. Now, let me quickly back up, IC Appliance gave me a trip fee of $49 to send out Ben. Now when Ben looked at my washer and diagnosed the problem, he gave me a new quote, now including parts and labour. The real cool thing was, he waived the trip fee. He said because I went forward and had the recommended service done, he would waive the trip fee, wow, now good old fashion customer service!! Now, what's really cool, is, Ben said he would to pick up a part, (from an undisclosed location, lol) and due to squeeze my appointment in, that it Monday before he could return and install it. Now, because he new I really needed my washer over the weekend, he tried doing a little MacGyver on it, just to hold me over, you're the man Ben! We both agreed to see each other Monday he would call me when he had the part. Surprise surprise I get a phone call from Ben my technician (notice how I call him my technician) Friday afternoon around 3:00. Guess what ben has my part and he said he could swing by at the end of the shift and install it for me he did exactly that he pulled off the Hail Mary pass with no time remaining on the clock. You're the man Ben! And thank you IC Appliance running a well oiled machine no pun intended. Great company I would highly recommend them. When I'm done with this review I'm contacting Ben, my service technician and schedule an appointment for my other property! Let me preface this by saying that Ben is a super nice guy! Really liked him. However, I had him out three times for the same problem and it never did get fixed. Two weeks after last visit, fridge has now stopped cooling all together. Not sure if my problem was too complex or what, but the fact remains that it was never fixed.
