Purchased a brand new "Day & Night" unit from this man 2 years ago for over $5,000. As soon as it was installed there were issues with it. Within the first week the temperature inside the home was never reaching the set temperature so the unit was continuously running and the electric bill was worse off with this than my old unit. He blamed the home, the heat, even the walls...not his unit. He literally said that the temperature was marking 83 degrees on the thermostat because of the temperature in the walls, despite having the AC unit set on 76 degrees. Every year there has been something new, last year the compressor was replaced, this year the blower was replaced. Jeremy Pratt is a Rat! He is great at selling you a unit but is horrible once you have issues he doesn't take ownership and blames everyone! He is bad business. I'd never use him and never recommend him to anyone! Jeremy Pratt enthusiastically sold us a York unit about 4 years ago. Every summer since, we've had issues and now when we call him he's NEVER available. If I call from a different # he'll answer promptly. Otherwise he lets the call go to voicemail and requests that you text him and once you do text him, he follows up with "he's too busy and to call around and locate an A/C guy that works on York". What good is 'a warranty on parts for 10 years' if we can't even find a contractor that works on that brand? CONFIDENCE TRICKSTER is what comes to mind....oh and don't give me started on the cheap thermostat he sold us. New to AZ, hit up a group I belong to on Facebook, and was recommended to Ice Cold Air there. I called 4 different companies that day, 2 of which actually came out without charging me a "trip fee". Jeremy was the only one who actually answered his phone, and did it at 6:45 AM, to boot. He came out the same day to take a peek at the system. When he arrived, he allowed me to take him to the equipment, and then talked me through as he took it apart and tested it. I asked a ton of questions, all of which he graciously answered. He showed me the issue (compressor burnt up), and we talked about replacement options. He had me show him the air handler (in the attic!), and talked me through the exchange. He left me with an estimate and gave me time to consider my options. The 2nd company came in right after and also gave me an estimate. They knocked on the door, but helped themselves to the equipment without me offering to take them. I for one, enjoy hosting people on my property, and if I choose not to host them, that's my choice. When I informed them that I had already received an estimate, they quickly tried to slander any information from my estimate. I'm not in the air conditioning business, but I do deal with businesses every day. Slandering another business in the way they tried, is unprofessional, and will never win my dollars! We knew right away that Ice Cold Air was our pick. Jeremy answered all my questions and eased my mind on the concerns I had, and then we scheduled the service. He was only a few days out. He walked me through what to expect, and how the transaction would go, including giving me an estimate of the time they'd be finished. The crew arrived on time as claimed, and were professional, courteous and very aware of being good guests while in my home. They cleaned up after themselves and talked me through the paperwork, the warranty and the final receipt. And left a little before expected! I would happily do business again. I was recovering from back surgery when our AC started acting up. We have a home warranty contract but having dealt with them in the past they will put a bandaid on a bandaid on a bandaid before replacing a system. Knowing our AC system was 30 years old and had many bandaids I knew what I was in store for when I called the warrant company so before doing so I thought I would open yelp and see what I could find out on purchasing a new system outright and boy am I happy I did. I called Ice Cold Air and Jeremy promptly answered. Explained my situation and he was over within an hour or so. Unfortunately and I knew this pretty much before he came, the AC system was on its last legs and needed to be replaced. He did his utmost best to bandaid it and we discussed a new system. The bottom line here is... Jeremy was super responsive and very sensitive to my needs due to me recovering from surgery. Hey did his best to keep our old system working over the weekend until our new system came in and getting a crane truck scheduled for the install. So what did I get? I hired Ice Cold Air after a terrible experience with another contractor. I had a AC company come out and replace my compressor. After about a week the unit went out again. After several more trips I was fed up and called Jeremy at Ice Cold on the recommendation of a friend. Jeremy came out and within about 30 minutes diagnosed that the other company had put the wrong (lower duty) compressor in and that I would have continual problems. After firing the original company, Ice Cold got the right part put in and the unit worked great and continuously. Next time I'll call Ice Cold Air first and get the job done right the first time. Since that incident, I've recommended them to several friends and colleagues and every time have been thanked for the referral by both the owner and the friend. What great service!! Call early on a Sunday morning and they responded promptly with their time frame for service. Called and texted 30 mins before they arrived which was well before the time frame. Once here they were very professional in assessing the situation and also handling our dogs. They sent me a photo of the problem and what was needed to fix before moving forward. jeremy replaced our age old ac/piggy-back swap cooler, it had been badly damage, he accessed, from a hail storm. we contacted our homeowners ins. and the rest jeremy did. it barely cost us a cent! it was replaced in a matter of hours, and within a month's time of the estimate to the ins! that's been a year ago, the unit is doing great and we're saving on the electric! read more
