They are the most professional service folks I've used, and they treat you better than customers, I would dare say that Dave, Francisco, Chris and anyone I've dealt with at Absolute Zero treat you like a friend and neighbor. In my mother and Inlaws case they have been trustworthy and treated them with respect. As a son (son-in law) this gives me a high degree of confidence that my parents are being well taken care of. Have used them for years. Francisco always prompt and courteous. Made me aware of a possible problem on a routine maintenance call. He did not try and pressure me into buying the part then. We are in from out of town working on a research project on residential HVAC systems. The gas furnace/AC developed a dead short during our time there and we couldn't identify it. We were able to get ahold of Dave quickly and he was there the next morning with his tech. They fond the problem with careful work (apparently one of the wires in the 24vac bundle at the board had a very small bit of missing insulation) and turned out the main control board was okay, which was a relief. They are courteous and systematic and even have a sense of humor. We need more shops like this! read more

Brought these guys out to look at my broken AC. Punctual and polite, the technician was nice but they wanted to charge me more than double what three other companies quoted me. When I tried to discuss this with the office manager she got rude and hung up on me. Additionally while the tech found the issue my unit had, he didn't find the root problem. I had an issue with my AC unit that was connected to ventilation with my swamp cooler. One summer the AC stopped functioning and my house got very humid and I couldn't get my house cool. I tried a few 'popular' valley air conditioner repair companies and was sorely disappointed at their ability to fix my issue. After a month of headache, I got fed up and called SRP, and they referred me to this repairman. Absolute Zero was like finding a glass of ice water in the hell of the Phoenix summer. The main repairman who came to my house was incredible. He had more devices to test the AC and quality of air coming through vents in my home than Inspector Gadget. He took out my swamp cooler, calibrated my AC, and found out my dryer was not hooked up to the vent correctly causing excess humidity. As soon as he was done, I couldn't quite turn my AC down to the bottom of the Kelvin scale, but I could enough to see my breath. read more

This company is professional, on time, and knowledge.. When we bought the house 5 years ago, we were contacted in person by the company because there was a warranty the two new HVAC systems they had installed a few years before. They have always kept us informed about service, filter changes and did the maintenance every 6 months. So when the older 2 units needed replacing, we bought them from Absolute Zero a year ago along with two professional Nest. Our electric bill was down by $200-$300 this past summer. Wow what a great experience! So thankful that SRP referred me to these guys. They were punctual, well spoken (in that they could explain things to me in a language I could understand), knowledgeable and reasonably priced. They were polite and prompt. But that's where the positives end for Absolute Zero. I'm currently shopping for a new Trane A/C unit. I drove by and saw their van parked in my neighborhood so I decided to give them a call. They were 40% higher than the other quotes I've received. I was quoted $8,200 for a new trane installed. Make sure you shop around, the A/C business is a very sketchy business in Arizona. I'm sure they do good work and they are SRP certified but to me the price is just way too high. read more

Horrible company and probably the worst customer service. Their technician serviced my AC and forgot to connect the hose line. Caused water to build up on the roof and leak through it. They sold me a two service plan and now without letting me know that its non refundable. When I called them to get it cancelled they conveniently share this detail. Candy, the 'service manger' refused to share the contact info of the owner so I could raise this issue. Horrible company to deal with. Take your business somewhere else. read more

Absolute Zero installed a new AC and heating system in our home a couple of years ago. They gave us the best price and the best warrantee, and we compared several dealers. Since then, they have been servicing our home and they do a wonderful job. They send out an email the day before your appointment with a picture and bio of the technician who will be coming to your home. The technician arrives on time and is very clear about explaining what he is doing and what (if any) repairs are recommended. The Company name is the rating they deserve, but that option is not available. Three service calls within 16 days, including one 'complete diagnostic check-up' resulted in replacing a run capacitor with the part alone being charged $308 and a blown fuse that had a charge of $45 for just the part. Online, the same EXACT capacitor costs $17.99 and the $45 fuse is less than $5 at Home Depot. After complaining about the prices, the owner, who has never been to the home, warns that the compressor will fail in the future and we should continue to do business with them for that reason. Why didn't the technician with over ten years experience come to this conclusion during one of his three trips? If you have way more money than you know what to do with, this is definitely the company for you to do business with. read more

Worst a/c company I ever dealt with. I had them come out to unclog my condensation line and before Marc looked at the unit he was trying to sell me two connectors. He jerked around for 1 hour and installed the two $4.00 pvc connectors ( which I didn't need_) and finally unclogged the pvc line. It took 5 min to install the two connectors and when they billed me I was shocked to see they charged $90.00 for two $4.00 parts and five minutes labor. He also cut a 6 in sq hole in my wall inside the garage because he thought the line might be leaking but it was not but still left the hole. I talked to David the owner about this. He tried to double talk me until he realized I knew as much as he did about the problem. Don't use them..... read more

Is this any way to run a company? Called them out because the roofers told us that our leak was caused by a hole between the A/C unit ducting and the duct work from going into the attic. the receptionist told us that there would be "no charge" as long as the tech. didn't do any work. He was here for less than 5 minutes and said that it was the roofer's fault because they had moved the unit when installing the new roof. The roofers came back out and fixed it - no problem. then we started getting invoices for $89 "Service Charge" from Absolute Zero. When we called about it, she said that "since he had to start his engine, they charged" this is not what we were told up front! this company sucks! Would not recommend them and would give Zero stars if possible. What horrible customer service and company image! read more

Typical dishonest business. Price gouging on parts and useless service. Don't even bother with their AC "checkup".

They are aptly named - I would rate them absolute 0 on a scale of 1-10 if Yelp allowed that. They gave me an estimate for a new air conditioner which is about $3000 higher than an equivalent unit from another company. After speaking with the rep for the other company, it is now my personal opinion that they grossly overcharged me for a previous repair. I believe that because the other rep mentioned on his own without my asking an example of the price of a certain part without knowing that I had a similar part replaced by Absolute Zero last year. Last but not least, I have a freon leak that I believe they should have told me about on a previous visit, especially since they had replaced a large amount of freon on a visit before that. Lastly, the repairman left greasy fingerprints on my wall and came in with dirty shoes on my carpet. read more

I finally found an air conditioning company that I feel comfortable with and they make me comfortable in my own home. They adjusted my system to make things more comfortable; Now when I needed them to fix the system, they were here as expected and made things right. I like how they send an e-mail acknowledging our appointment and it includes a picture of the tech that will show up and a resume of his experience. We had our first encounter with Absolute Zero Air in 2009. They came and fixed our unit when it had stopped working in the middle of the night. The technician was courteous, professional and advised my wife ( I was at work) of everything he was doing with the unit. Had it up and running and for what I thought was a fair price. In 2010 after the nasty hail storm in October our house received a pounding as did our A/C. It was not working so again we called Absolute Zero, Mike the owner came out and did the service and we agreed to a new unit. For the next couple of years after the new unit was installed they were great,they always called and scheduled the bi annual services. Then it all stopped, we called to have the maintenance service scheduled and were told we had to buy an annual service plan for a coupled hundred dollars and that didn't include anything other than the visit, why buy it? Then we heard from some friends that they were charged nearly $700 for a service call and that the tech did the work before letting our friends know what was wrong so they felt cornered into paying and were charged nearly 40 times over the cost of the parts. We felt maybe this was an isolated issue and continued to trust them. I referred them to a coworker and heard that they did the same thing to him after discussing our recent encounter. Now the most recent 2 weeks ago, my mother in laws house. The unit stopped working and wife called Absolute Zero (mother in law was out of town). She met them at her house and the technician went to work for a couple of hours. Then he returned with a $462 bill. I arrived and he said he put 1 pound of Freon in and replaced a run capacitor. None of this work was authorized before hand and we were cornered into paying. We were charged $299 for a run a capacitor, I checked around at a few stores including Sears and found the same part and brand ranging in price from $9.99 to $16.99. This part can be purchased by anyone. I called another AC company and asked what they charged to replace the same part. They told me $50 for the part installed and $80 for the service call. I have been in contact with Mike, the owner of Absolute Zero. He is unwilling to even address the unethical sales/service practices of his techs so I am left to assume he condones and even encourages this method of performing work before discussing it with customers. Next are his fees which he claims are reasonable and all inclusive. Even lied about the amount and type of work involved in replacing the run cap. Now he wont return any emails after asking me what I want him to do about this issue. I will no longer use Absolute Zero Air as well as refer them to anyone. Hence my review read more
