I'd rank this spot as above average. I do think the syrup is sweeter than most other places. I had the coconut and guava with ube ice cream and pineapple ($3) which came out to $13. They only take cash and they close at 5pm (closed on Wednesdays). It's a small window to order and there's not an inside area with A/C.
Had to visit this place because we were craving shave ice on a hot day. First of all bring CASH. Lucky I got cash on hand. They have so many options. I was able to share my shave ice with my son, we got the melona with lilikoi and mini mochi balls and custard with ice cream inside. It was yummy!!!! Definitely hit the spot. Yall need to come and check them out .
Hole in the wall spot with the best milk shave ice!! We got the #7 milk shave ice with mochi balls and double pudding. The two of us shared it but I wished I had ordered my own because it was soooo good, especially with the custard pudding. Service was fast. They're cash only. There are some outdoor tables nearby where you can sit and eat. Parking was easy and free.
Located next to McDonald's, in a large shopping plaza. We had the Shaved ice with Half Cotton Candy & Blue Raspberry, with Mochi Balls. Parking can be crowded in these parking garage, but we got a spot on the first floor next to Starbucks. It's just an order window and there are seats in two separate common area in the plaza. They give you a key to the restroom which is located in a separate building. The only negative is the service. The guy was just through the motions and didn't want to answer our questions. Overall, awesome shaved ice from a local business.
Yummy lowkey shave ice spot! I like that they have a large variety of flavors and toppings to try! They have an oatmeal topping that is super interesting and unique to this spot. I quite liked the oatmeal, it was a nice texture and had a good sweetness to it and paired well with the milk shave ice. The pudding topping is also pretty good, but this is the most expensive topping. Still good to try though! This is a walk-up window but there are some outdoor tables nearby that you can sit at. Otherwise there isn't really a designated place to sit to eat. They're also cash only.
Been to ice garden a few times and the pudding is one of the highlights. The ice is pretty fine and they have a lot of syrup and topping options! Service was pretty fast. There usually isn't much of a line. They are cash only tho! Unfortunately their prices just keep going up and while they have a bunch of other pictures with combos there isn't a price listed with the pictures so I didn't really know the cost until I ordered. For my boyfriend and mine 2 shave ice with toppings it was upward of $25 which caught me off guard for just shave ice...
We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite a long line. My boyfriend and I made our own shave ice with the flavors guava, lilikoi and lychee and added mochi balls and the custard flan on top. We thought the shave ice was ok. The syrups weren't anything special, I think we had better flavor syrups at other shave ice spots. The mochi balls were average as well but the custard flan was really good! It was pretty pricey as well for one shave ice with toppings. We didn't think it was really worth the long wait too. At least the custard flan was yummy so glad we got to try it out!
I ordered the lychee and melons shaved ice with mochi and custard and it was so good. Everything was refreshing and not overly sweet. The custard was a surprisingly good pairing with the shaved ice. Prices are reasonable and service was quick. Just a heads up, it's CASH ONLY. It's a bit tricky to find. We parked in the grocery store lot on the lower level and took the escalator up. Look for the small order window. Definitely worth the hunt.
What a great find! We were at Keiki Kingdom with our grandkids and told them we would go get shave ice after. I did a quick search and the first spot was in the mall so we skipped it and came to Ice Garden. We got there and saw the line and knew it must be a hot spot. When we saw the first order come out everyone's eyes lit up. We searched the menu and picked out our choices. It was fantastic! I usually get a snowcap but they have milk ice here and it reminds me of the homemade snow ice cream I make back home. Delicious! Mine was topped with tapioca and custard. The boy taking my order asked if I wanted one or two custards. I said one but let me tell you I wish I would have said two!! So good. My grandson got strawberry shave ice with mochi balls and vanilla ice cream and a custard topper. He ate it all. The other two shared a cherry and blue raspberry combo. The bowls were nice sized. Every bit was eaten. We will definitely hit this spot again.
Where the ingredients from East meets West form a bond of consistently smooth, fine shave ice creations. Craved for a cool dessert considering humidity in the afternoon. Was it worth the wait of driving around one way for shaded parking 20 mins on a humid day? Yes. Was it worth my time spending every cent on delectable and edible creation? Absolutely! Was it worth leaving a tip for the hardworking and grateful staff? You bet! Was it worth my time and effort of standing in line? Heck yeah! Some chose to consume their preferred shave ice on rectangular and round tables outside within walking distance. While others indulged in the comfort of their vehicles. I loved how the consistency of fine and smooth shave ice with milk flavor took a long time to melt. #5 with double custard or taro, milk flavor, mochi balls, double custard tasted fabulous and refreshing! Not too sweet! Not too heavy with regard to milk flavor taste and tummy feeling great! Every single millimeter was covered with multiple flavors. I'm able to order a different creation with every future visit. Cash triumphed all other methods of payment. Some creations will run out quicker midway through the afternoon. I will not feel bored and find numerous choices fun with the plethora of flavors.

Not gonna lie, we had a little trouble finding this place.. lol! Cash only, and worth every penny. We got the #7. It was a real treat! The flan was amazing. I would definitely get extra mochi next time. So yummy ahh can't wait to be back! read more
The servings got larger. Which makes the value better. But the shave ice was always bomb. The service is fine considering it's a small hole in the wall and essentially two people running it. What more can you ask for? This is a staple of Hawaii and an establishment that will hopefully never pass away. read more

This place has always been on my list of places to try when I come on the island and I finally got to during my most recent trip! It's located in a strip mall and was pretty hard to find as the mall had two levels. We parked on the bottom level and made our way up the escalators until we found the window to order. I ordered the taro shaved ice and added pudding to it and it was literally the best thing I have ever eaten!! It tasted like one of my favorite Asian sweet soup desserts (taro sago sweet soup) and every bite was so creamy. Definitely my favorite shaved ice place! I really wanted to come back once more before I left but we didn't have the time to. In the meantime, I'll just be dreaming about the next time I can taste it again! read more
I really would wait an hour in the hot sun for this place and guess what, I did. It is a local gem and I wish this place long lasting success. I usually get the Taro with Mochi and sometimes will add flan. The taro is REAL taro and sweetened to perfection. Hits the spot on a sunny day. The sweltering summer heat getting to you? Ice garden is where my feet take me, when I can't stand the heat and have a sweet tooth. They have classic flavors and combos. Huge picture menus for people like me who need help seeing/in denial about the fact they need glasses. Any how, my absolute favorite is the number 7. Classic milk tea, with Mochi bits, and TWO custards. I tried to order extra custard, but that wasn't an option. Shucks. If you don't get the custard with your shave ice, you're missing out. Make sure you get it. Don't tell them no custard unless you're giving your custard to me. Kay? Kay. Ample parking. Cash only. There is an ATM & tables on the side. Ice consistency seems different from previous owners but the flan tastes the same, thank goodness. My favorite is the pineapple, they advertise as fresh but it's canned. Cash only. Plenty tourists now due to social media. read more

$11 ish dollars for a rainbow shave ice with ice cream, flan, and mochi. I remember loving this place when I was a kid and it's still very delicious, but it got a little too sweet towards the end. They operate through a tiny little window in the shopping plaza and its cash only! I don't know if it's the nostalgic flavor, but I love this place and think it's some of the best shave ice on the island. P.S. ALWAYS GET THE FLAN!!! It's sooooo good! read more
So this place is in a small shopping center on a busy corner and on the second floor. The line when we got there was 4 long and there is no inside seating at all so if you're a group, snag one of the outdoor tables around the corner. The servings are perfect for one person. The choices of toppings are wide open and the whole dish is tasty. My cousin ordered the #30 substituting flan for mochi. It comes with oatmeal as well as chocolate syrup and ice cream in the shaved ice. Perfect for a hot day! read more

I remember coming here as a child when the 2 sisters ran the place, I read that their nephew took over...and Im assuming it's probably his young son that diligently works the cash register on weekends and after school. Their shave ice is SOOO good, always taro and/or custard for me, my girls will get rainbow and mochi balls. Soft/fine ice, not the big/crunchy kind. Sorry, I can't speak to the halo halo tho, never tried it. The line can sometimes be long, I have a feeling it might be a 2 or 3 man operation. The CASH ONLY thing isn't a problem for me personally, and although I think their prices are high (inflation sucks)...my gripe is that they don't list any of their prices. My guess is that alot of customers would say NO if they actually posted their prices, so maybe its to their advantage. FYI, I paid $25 for 3 bowls. Will I return again? Yes. Will I return OFTEN? SO GOOD!!!! i used to come here as a kid, not very often, but enough times for a visit now a days to feel nostalgic. their #7 is a forever fav ^_^ so i got that & my mom got their taro with mochi balls and double custard. the line gets long - but the aunty and unko working are awesome and their shave ice is my favorite so it's always worth the wait! and it's worth the price. good portions and it tastes so much better than any other shave ice spot. get some makoto sushi before hitting up ice garden - such a bomb combo! read more

My boyfriend and I are from Seattle and our college friends who live in Pearl City recommended Ice Garden. I love the toppings and the shave ice itself is soooo yummy. The pudding is super creamy and jiggly They only take cash which we weren't aware of, but there's an ATM inside of the shopping center, just know there's a $4 ATM fee there's some seating around the corner but be prepared to stand and enjoy your shave ice if they're filled up. Now that we're home, we're craving it and can't wait for our next trip back to Oahu so that we can get Ice Garden again :) read more
No substitutes and CASH only ! it's a walk up and take it out type of place hard to find but definitely look at the other pictures posted in the reviews. It is located in the middle level section of the three level shopping Mall. It was kind of a cold day, but still worth the wait halo halo was $17 ! I definitely love the custard shaved ice was plentiful. Ingredients were good but not really a lot. I expected more for $17. I would've liked to had a smaller portion of the shaved ice and more of the actual ingredients beans, coconut, etc. I think it was a little over price for what I got although it was tasty. read more

I got da shock of my life. Da guy said, '$28.80'. I'm like, WHAT!!!?? I had $20 ready and it wasn't enuff. I jus came bak from WA an we wanted to try cuz it's been over 10yrs or more since we hd one here. Glad dey neva put da price up cuz we wouldn't have ordered. I read from other reviews, I think the halo halo around $15 and maybe the double flan $11 +tax. Da buggah was ono, but da halo halo is nothing like da Filipinos make. Dey should ask one Filipino how fo make it. Da rice crispies wen tro me off. 1 star for not posting prices. Why only extra toppings have prices??? Come on brah. As a business owner, are you comfortable purchasing anything without knowing the prices? I don't think so. 5 star for da grindz Not sure if we'll ever come back with dat kine prices. Who eats oatmeal with shave ice? This girl right here. Visit this shave ice if you like unique toppings on your shave ice. I grew up on this shave ice and have tried practically every number on the menu except the fairly new added halo-halo items. When I first came it use to be two elderly women, a mother and daughter duo. It currently has been passed down to the nephew he has been doing great keeping it the same. Fine shave ice, soft mochi, the pudding is medium firmness, and the ice to syrup ratio is perfect for my kids. Location: It's located in Aiea Shopping Center in the second floor near Mcdonald's. Parking: It can be scarce since there are a number of good business in the same area. Covid-19 precautions: Due to Covid the inside is currently closed. You order from the outside window. Make sure you wear a mask when you order. CASH ONLY! There is covered seating under the parking structure near the florist shop. There is also a bathroom near that area. I don't know anywhere else that offers toppings like they do. You need to check this place out if you want to try something different on your shave ice. read more
I definitely enjoy coming here. More pricey than other shaved ice places, but it's worth it. Shave ice is one of the softest on the island and it melts in your mouth. They are know for their custard flan on top their shave ice. You can ONLY order custard WHEN YOU ORDER SHAVE ICE! This was kind of dumb. I wanted to add it later and the male worker said I couldn't. He claimed it was for "sanitation reasons" that I couldn't add it on AFTER I got my original order. I asked if he could just put it on the side and he said no. Was a total bummer, but I learned from that and every time I go I always order the custard. Parking is a hit or miss because it's limited, but I don't find much issues. I come here pretty often because I'm obsessed with the quality of their shave ice. Small mom and pop shop and English isn't their first language so be patient, but it's definitely a place I'd recommend if you're local or visiting :) read more

I wouldn't have known about this place if my friends didn't take me here many years ago. Because of the pandemic, there's no place to sit anymore and now it's a walk up window at the outside 2nd floor of the Aiea shopping mall, in the middle section (it shares the parking lot with McDonald's). Remember to bring cash. I came here last month for the first time in a long time. I got my favorite, the #22 Blue Vanilla Shave Ice with Ice Cream and Mochi Balls and then added a custard topping, while my sis and bro-in-law ordered the #13 Rainbow Shave Ice with Mochi Balls and added a custard. I was a bit disappointed when they kindly told us that they were low on mochi balls that day, but they actually still gave us a decent amount. Everything was as good as remember. I love the options of flavors and varieties of toppings they offer. I always add a custard, mochi balls, and ice cream if the shave ice I get doesn't already come with it. We also went at a good time, on an early Monday afternoon, when there was just one party ahead of us. We also got our order fairly quickly. Ice Garden has been around for a long time and I would still recommend this place! read more

Delicate shave ice, fresh chewy & delicate mochi balls with a perfect drizzle of evaporated milk and the perfect mini-flan cones you ever saw! Always consistent. Sunday, 2/27/2022 - Went to eat some shave ice at "Ice Garden" off Aiea Heights Dr in Honolulu. This place is located in a small mini mall. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) in a mini mall with lots if parking 2) located in the 2nd floor of this mini mall 3) it's a little window. You order at the window. 4) photos of each shave ice is located on their window. 5) we got 4 shave ice. 3 was very good. Passion Fruit one was ok. Shave ice here is so soft. Halo halo is superb. 6) it didn't take long for us to get our orders. Cons: 1) passion fruit shave ice was very syrupy. But after we mixed it, it tasted better. It tasted more like an orange julius vs passion fruit. Conclusion: This little place is cute. It's outside a mini mall on the 2nd floor. Inside restaurant was not open when we were there. There is a short line. Shave ice is soft and fluffy. I like this spot. It's close to the airport. Like 5 miles away from the airport. read more

A friend recommended this place and did inform me that they're pricey especially when you add on extra toppings. My husband and I ordered the #13 Rainbow Shave Ice with Mochi Balls and I added the custard for me. The bowl they used was small and shallow. Didn't care for the taste of the syrup they used. Thought it was overpriced for the amount they served. I don't mind paying over $13 for those 2 bowls BUT I feel they should at least serve it in a bigger bowl since it's only shaved frozen water and syrup which shouldn't be costly to them. I did enjoy the custard...it was really soft and creamy! read more

We waited in a 15 minute line on a Sunday afternoon during the summer. Quick and efficient service kept the line moving quickly. Got #5 Combo: Taro topping (homemade), milk shave ice, mochi balls (homemade). The shave ice was really fine and the milk flavor was light and the perfect amount of sweetness. It worked great with the slightly sweet taro topping. The soft texture of the cubes of taro worked well with the chewy mochi balls. I really liked that the mochi balls weren't overcooked and soft like some other places. We walked over to the cement tables and seats under the parking structure to eat our shave ice. read more

Bookmark this spot for one of my favorite hole in the wall spots for shave ice on Hawaii! My cousins took me here when I visited back in May and it did not disappoint! Shave ice on Hawaii always hits different, since it's so soft and literally melts in your mouth. I got the # 7 that came with milk shave ice, flan, and mochi balls which was super refreshing on a hot day. It's also not overly sweet and the flan on top was so silky and fun to jiggle! I definitely recommend adding this to your list of places to try when in Hawaii! They only accept cash here and they have a bunch of other toppings and fruity flavors as well. read more
Lately I've been loving this place! I used to come here many years ago but I didn't crave it and recently I've been craving it! The flan on the shave ice is really good and the ice is super soft. First time going to this place and boy it was well worth it! When I got there there was 10 people in line, as I was approaching I see.... "Cash Only". Dang! Now I gotta get out of line to find an ATM. When I return, there are even more in line, and I begin to contemplate if I should stay or go. Well I decided to stay and boy was it the right one! Unfortunately I didn't grow up coming to Ice Garden although I have lived on island, but found out about it through family. They raved about it and I had to try it. The menu has so much and I wanted to try it all, but ended up getting the milk shave ice with flan and coffee jelly. The flavors were sooo good! The ice was soft when you dig into it with your spoon and held the flavor. As you can see the portion size goes a long way and I was sharing with one other person! The service was great and love to support local. They are humble. It is a cash only business! To those who complain, it is what it is. Have the cash and enjoy your shave ice! Among the Finance department, this place has been voted the best shave ice place for desserts on the island! Our finance leader Kawehi ordered the shaved ice with caramel drizzled on top with a pair of custard cups to top off 'snow-coned mt. Everest'! I shared an oatmeal, caramel flavored ice bowl with Auntie Shann and the smooth ice cream was so tasty it could stop your heart or 'broke da mouth' onolicious! Hot day? Cold day? Rainy day? Any day is a good day for Ice garden! I can't complain, every time we go it hits the spot! Their Flan is delish - warm tapioca is Devine & service is Consistently great. This is one of the few places I cannot go without my other half. If he finds out I go without him, he gets jealous then I must go back! I saw someone's post on Facebook and I came to this place because I love custard pudding(flan). This place is located in aiea shopping center. The corner of the entrances on second floor. There is a lot of parking spots! It it very small counter but it reminds me of Japanese shave ice shop. There is a lot of menu. I ordered no.7. It's pudding milk shave ice with mochi ball.
