The food was amazing...the service was great! We sat on the deck which was so picturesque. Absolutely a must stop if you are in the area...a hidden gem!

First visit so we only tried a few things. Service was tip-top and the Inn is both lovely inside and out. Plenty of parking. We both ordered the pork schnitzel. I've never had schnitzel that crunchy. Wasn't bad - just different. I wouldn't order it again. The apple slaw was also different, too different, and like another reviewer I would have preferred the potato salad to be warm. Brussels sprouts were fine. Also, really surprised the meals were delivered in about 5 minutes. How? We ordered a bread pudding to go. Also different enough that I wouldn't order it again. I'd try the Inn again, but different dishes, in the hope that we just had an odd experience.

This is a fabulous spot. Their hours are perfect, and the music they play gives a very upbeat yet relaxed feel. Service is fast and friendly, and the food is so good. It's amazing that this is an option in Upper Jay, NY.

This place is truly a hidden gem. I love to vacation up north around the Lake Placid area and I refuse to leave without going to the Ice Jam Inn. Top quality food, service and ambiance. My favorite place ever.

A friend and I stayed at the Ice Jam for a night before heading up to a retreat on Saranac Lake. It's adorable. We booked a room with two twin beds which was perfect. I love that this is an option. The beds were pretty old and not the most comfortable, they could absolutely use an update. I was a little worried about the shared bathroom but it ended up being fine. We ate in the restaurant and my only real wish is that the menu had more options - the food was delicious! The tables and chairs were a bit shabby and didn't fit the mountain inn vibe but that's ok. The only real downside is that because this is booked via AirBnb, it's very hands off. Check yourself in with a code, keys in the doors and you take it when you arrive, etc. Totally fine, but this place is so cute, a more Inn feel would be great! Would absolutely stay here again, rates were super reasonable and it's in a great area.

AMAZING FOOD. A must if you're in the area. Poutine was so so good. The veggie bisque was outstanding as well.

We were in the mood for lunch and they were only serving breakfast that Sunday. So, we opted for the most lunch-ish thing available that wasn't too heavy. Bagels and cream cheese. They were perfectly toasted and there was plenty of spreadable cream cheese. It made for a perfect light lunch. I don't eat eggs, so it did limit my options. If you do eat eggs, their breakfast dishes with eggs look amazing. Of course, we tried the coffee. It was very good and we loved the mugs. The place is rustic-charming. The service was good. It's a busy place. We loved the regulars who stopped in and didn't even need to say what they wanted. The servers already knew. The service is good but slow. Not sure if that's because they were busy or if they're just not the type to rush things. The bathrooms are clean. There is an up-charge for credit cards. It's hard to resist buying mugs and coffee to take home. The cookies were so hard to resist we bought some to keep us snack-happy on our travels. Definitely a good place to stop.

While I haven't had the opportunity to try the entire menu just yet, I can say confidently the home fries live up to the hype. I understand why they're called home fries because they reminded me of home. It looks like they're doing some renovation on the second floor, I wonder if that'll result in even more seating. If that's the case then it'll take this cafe to the next level.

Everyone was friendly. My partner had the cheese omelette with rye toast. The omelette did not come with potatoes, but she did not mind at all. She liked the omelette very much, and she said that the rye bread was fabulous! She gave me a small piece, and I agree. It was delicious! I had the breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, potatoes, and bacon. It also came with salsa and sour cream on the side. The salsa was very good, it had just a tiny "zip" to hit. They were a great addition to the burrito. The only thing, I would say about the burrito, was that the tortilla was not heated at all. It was like they took the tortilla out of the wrapper, and just put it around the food. It was a little disappointing, but overall it was still very good. My friend had Earl Gray tea, and I had coffee, which was delicious. Plus, they kept my cup full. She said that they used a good brand tea Prices were very reasonable. One thing about the place, because it is so popular, when they get busy, it is best to have patience. From the time we walked into the time we got our food it was almost a half an hour. It wasn't bad, we just visited amongst ourselves. Also, my partner kept admiring all of the beautiful photographs on the wall. It's a nice space. Apparently, the person who supplies the food for the restaurant is the photographer that took the pictures. Overall, a good meal. Thank you.

My sister ordered a gin hibiscus drink that was complex in flavor yet still felt light. The space is small but cozy, and the subtle ocean theme is really nice. The service we received was exceptional. The cooks and bartender were very personable and answered our questions thoroughly and with ease. Since it was a slow day, the cook even prepared us an extra little dish (that was delicious by the way). The owner catches a lot of the fish they serve, so it is the freshest you will get in the valley. Their menu changes frequently, so some things you see online may not be available. We ordered several dishes to share: the smashed cucumbers, the tuna tataki, the inari nigiri, and the dry fried shiitake. You can tell the food is good because I forgot to take pictures before we started eating. The cucumbers were very flavorful and had the numbing heat associated with Szechuan cuisine. The tuna tataki had a perfect sear on it. The inari is hard to mess up but was still very good! The highlight dish for me was certainly the dry fried shiitake. It was very flavorful with some heat to it and tasted smoky as it was cooked with bacon. The rice portion was a good size so as not to drown out the mushrooms. We left full and happy. One thing to note- the spicy yellowtail roll is actually spicy, so if you can't handle your spice you should opt for something else. My family has lived in the valley for more than 20 years and my mom says this is the best restaurant in the valley right now. We will certainly be back and will be telling our friends about it.
