I love iceskimo! If you like to customize your dessert this is the place. I love their variety of topping and flavors. The service here is great and the staff does a great jon at explaining the flavors and how to order. They have tables inside and outside but I would recommend this place to groups of 4 or less since it's a small shop. I ordered their small size matcha shaved ice and added all my favorite toppings. The shaved ice was nice and creamy and very flavorful. The experience is similar to ordering froyo where you get your base and then add your toppings from a topping bar. A little pricey but worth a try. I will definitely be coming back!

The price is by weight, so make sure you wisely choose what to include. This is the perfect dessert spot for a casual & fun sweet treat! * Thai Tea Ice - 8.2/10 (the thai tea flavor was super robust. it reminds us of a thai milk tea you would get from a boba store, but in shaved ice form. the ice is very pillowy & melts in your mouth. the toppings that we chose complemented the thai tea flavor very well, & we liked how you get to add & choose as many toppings to your heart's desire)
Iceskimo is a popular Taiwanese shaved snow and artisan dessert shop located in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood of San Diego. The shop is a casual, quick-visit destination with limited indoor and outdoor seating. Server was friendly and efficient. Iceskimo is known for its light, ribbon-like "snow" that is creamier than traditional shaved ice but lighter than ice cream, the shop offers over 30 handmade flavors and a variety of customizable toppings like mini mochi, egg pudding, popping boba, and condensed milk drizzles. Their popular specialty drinks are Iceskimo Milk Tea, Vietnamese Coffee, and Matcha Strawberry Lattes. Their Snow Affogatos have a unique twist where flavor infusions are poured over shaved snow. We got the Mighty Matcha and it's not so sweet, perfect for our taste. Parking is located in a busy strip mall on Convoy Street. Parking in the immediate lot can be challenging during peak hours. There's a paid parking lot behind the building and additional street parking.
Wow! I just came across the Iceskimo trailer. it's so cool that they pop up in different locations. I tried the ube shave ice, and not only is the color beautiful, but the flavor is perfectly balanced. It is so nice and refreshing! I love that they use natural ingredients.
Service was good - the shaved ice itself was really lacking in flavor. We tried black sesame and jasmine milk tea, neither of which had much discernible sesame or tea flavor. Honestly without the condensed milk added, I don't think the ice would have tasted like anything at all on its own. Toppings were fine. I was impressed with how well run the shop was with just two people making bubble waffles, drinks, shaved ice, soft serve, etc. But the shaved ice itself was disappointing - especially since that's their claim to fame.
Iceskimo | Del Mar Mini Vanilla Soft Serve ($4.50) - This was a simple and standard vanilla soft serve, very comparable to the one at IKEA.
The jasmine milk tea shave snow is still a favorite! It's light and fluffy with a perfect floral flavor. The boba was a bit hard and chewy this time. Note that a small with no toppings will start around $9-$10 for just the shape snow. Plan accordingly so you're not surprised at the end since there are no prices on the menu. It's all weight based.
Very cool (literally) ice cream, smoothie, dessert place with excellent pineapple smoothies! Prompt and attentive service and cozier interior with a few countertop seats and tables. Check it out on Convoy!
Quick stop after a friend's dinner at Dumpling Inn. It helped that we already had parking and could walk to Iceskimo. When we walked in, the store was empty, so we had a chance to chat about their offerings and ask the two employees for their recommendations. We ended up each getting a different cup, with different flavors and toppings, and freely shared spoonfulls of desserts with each other. The ices were refreshing and light, and the toppings were perfect for the frozen treats. Our choices ranged from chocolate to fruity bases, with almost every topping they had available. They started to get very busy while we sat at three tables sharing our desserts. The shop was clean and bright, with decent seating (we did spread out but tried to consolidate our space as more people came in). We all enjoyed our post-dumplings desserts and agreed it was a good find.
Came here after dinner with some friends. I wasn't planning on getting anything until I saw they had a seasonal soft serve that was pumpkin spiced. It was a pumpkin spice waffle with vanilla soft serve, biscoff cookie, cheesecake bites, and caramel sauce for about $13. Seemed pretty pricey but honestly I would get it again. The combination was everything I loved about fall. Girls working the counter were quick and gave us ETA's on all our orders.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE!! this is great spot for ice cream & shaved snow. the shaved snow is pretty cheap, i think my friend paid $6 for a regular size cup. the bubble waffle comes with ice cream turned out about $11. absolutely loved the strawberry shorty, definitely share that cup between 2 ppl! will be back again!

I had the opportunity to come check this place out during a Yelp event. Love the service from the staff. What's even better is the owner is down to earth and very personable. I was able to sample their Affogatos. I relaly enjoyed the Mighty Matcha Affogato and the Oohbae. Will definitely come by more often! read more
Great place! The shaved ice is flavored so you can just get that if you do not want toppings. There are about 5 flavored you can chose from. I got the lycée with minimum toppings and it cost $3.75. It's the brightest building in convoy. You cannot miss the Tiffany teal. The down side to this place, and every place in convoy shares this problem, is parking. If you are going to go here during the peak hours, it's going to be hard to park. I went during the week day around 3:30pm and I was able to park right in front :) read more

So light. So airy. So fluffyyyyy!! And so good! You choose from about 5 or 6 different flavors of ice. I got green tea when I went for the first time (they give samples for the indecisive). At first, I was expecting shaved ice because I noticed the ice shaver, but when it was handed to me to apply my toppings, it looked like sheets of snow fluff that I didn't want to ruin. They have maybe 20-25 different toppings including fruits, nuts, and irresistible chocolate and sugary items. My order cost a little less than $5, but it felt like a LOT to eat.. and I got the small. The cost of a large that my 2 friends split cost a little less than $6. The portion size may have been off as our toppings and topping quantity didn't seem too different, so you might want to watch how much snow is shaved into your cup. Delicious nonetheless! And don't forget to add the condensed milk! read more

Finally today we decided to skip SomiSomj and go across the street and what a wonderful experience . I had the flavor of the month lychee rose and it was perfectly refreshing and not too sweet . My little one had cookies and cream and she loved it . The fruit toppings were fresh and the place is very clean. We will be coming back soon. First time so i Got one of the suggested mixes, "old fashioned" (original milk flavor snow, sweet red bean & grass jelly) *I added almond jelly....won't do that again -_- ^^the milk flavor snow was really yummy, not too sweet and the red bean was good but it would've been better if it wasn't made so thick and dry and the grass jelly tasted like the can/container it came from :( ^^also got to try some strawberry short cake. GREAT shaved snow! I'm glad they opened a shaved snow in convoy. Icekimo is comparable to shaved snows in cerritos and rowland heights! I loved it when I tried the pop-up store and love their new location just down the street (: deconstructed boba is my favorite. Only part I'm confused about is that they now charge per ounce but since it's not self serve, it's up to their discretion about how much snow they give you and how much of each topping you get... read more

Love love love love this place. Taro shaved Ice is so good and also the jasmine flavor. Clean cute shop with fresh fruit toppings and some things I've never tried before ( almond jelly , yum). Nice little area to eat outside on picnic benches and tables. They sell coffee too. read more

First time trying this place and it was okay. The concept is similar to yogurt land / world. You choose your flavored ice then toppings. For your shaved ice, you get a choice of green tea, black sesame, strawberry and more. You then have your choice of toppings, green grass jello, Mochi, Oreos, almond jello, nuts and many more! Your bowl is then charged by weight (oz) $0.79 per oz? When we think of shaved ice we think of tiny ice pebbles with fruit syrup on top, but this is completely different! The ice is thinly sliced and extremely light and fluffy. It melts in your mouth like creamy ice cream. This took us by surprise! After a while it tastes like ice cream and have the same texture as ice cream. To be honest, it was very bland. There wasn't much flavor in my bowl, only a hint of green tea. We would definitely come back again and try different flavors. Totally worth a try but nothing to rave about. read more
Cheap and delicious! The place is bright and vibrant. The employees were very welcoming. I ordered the 'frrrrozen hot chocolate' which came with chocolate snow, dark chocolate, fresh strawberries, and whip cream. The guy was generous with the amount he packed on and it was all for under $5!! You also have the option to pack on your own toppings if you prefer to make your own. Each flavor is frozen in a block and shaved to order. The dessert leaves you satisfied and doesn't give you that "I should have worn leggings" feeling most desserts do. read more

Finally! A shaved snow shop in SD!! This is a cute, froyo style shop on the corner of a little restaurant plaza alone convoy! & I'm so happy to finally got to try it! My bf and I came in, shortly after eating dinner, and we were in the mood for something sweet. I suggested to try this place out and we were definitely not disappointed. We came in and it was filled with a couple of families with a lot of kids! It works just like a frozen yogurt place that they can prepare for you. They prepare the shaved snow and you can grab the topping yourself. They have a small menu that include pre-selected combinations that they suggest would compliment the shaved snow flavors! Additionally, you can make your combinations. So, the varieties of different combinations can definitely cater to your specific sweet tooth! My bf and I decided to keep it simple and get their Cookie Monster. It had black sesame shaved snow with cookie crumbles, and condensed milk. It normally includes strawberries but we opted out, and got boba! The staff here are VERY sweet! Haha, when we came in, they asked us if it's our first time. We said yes, and one of the staff was very kind of to explain how it all works! I do have to mention, when I wanted boba in our shaved snow, there weren't that much left! The sweet staff started scooping out what's left of the boba, one by one. They were able to scoop out a serving for our shaved snow. I just thought it was super sweet! As far as pricing goes, it is priced by weight, similarly to a froyo place again. It is fairly priced!! My bf and I got our Cookie Monster in the regular, 8oz size. It was enough for the both of us to share! I definitely look forward to coming back as a regular! They do have stamp cards, be sure to ask for that!! read more

Yas yas yaaaas!!!! I was just wandering around and I ran into this place. It was a hot day ice cream sounded good. I was in the right place at the right time. The ice cream is so soft! It's so cool I had the matcha green tea and when it came out it was so soft and fluffy! Okay but literally the toppings are the best part. They have a huge variety of delicious Asian infused yummies. MY favorite is the almond jelly hands down. Just give me a bowl of that haha. If you're ever in convoy, this is the place for your ice cream needs. I paid 5 bucks for my "small" but I went ham on toppings. read more

I would recommend Iceskimo to anyone. Shaved snow is one of my absolute favorite desserts, and Iceskimo does it right. I love everything about Iceskimo: the shaved snow flavors, the branding, the storefront, the interior. It's so cute and simple. Iceskimo is a quick stop for shaved snow and completely customizable in the way a froyo shop is. They have a menu of classic combinations, or you can make it your own with a variety of unique flavors and topping choices (self-serve, so you can get as much or as little as you want and try everything). I've had black sesame, strawberry, and green tea. It's not often that everything on the menu sounds good, so I still have yet to try all the flavors I've wanted. The smallest size is big enough for two people, but it's delicious enough that I've finished the entire thing myself before too.The best thing about shaved snow is that it tastes really light; it's not overly sweet or sickeningly creamy. read more

Came on a Saturday night, didnt know what to expect. But very yummy! Light, fluffy, and refreshing You can have upto 2 flavors. ($1 extra in a small) . Price is $.53 cents per oz. Got small and didnt go crazy on toppings and this totalled to about $6. read more

Tried a different flavor and I didn't like the Lychee...it was too adventurous for me. I did try the mochi and the coffee jello toppings and that was interesting. My girls still thoroughly enjoyed their creations! Parking after 6PM makes it significantly more hectic to get in and out. read more

My nieces and I were anxious to try Iceskimo after hearing about it from friends...and this 8 months new establishment did not disappoint! Delicious shaved snow is a creamier version of shaved ice that just tickles your taste bud's fancy ;) The small size was extremely generous and so my brother & his eldest shared Summer Love w/the addition of gummy worms?! My niece & I shared Coconut Paradise and added mochi & chocolate...incredible yumminess!! The coconut jelly topping was our absolute favorite! A drizzle of sweetened condensed milk is also an option that we opted out of...but our family consensus was definitely thumbs UP!! read more

I want one of these machines in my house! Forget regular ice cream!! We had Original Milk snow (with gummy bears, sour gummy worms, & boba), "Bruce Lychee" (Lychee snow, mango poppers, mango jelly, & condensed milk), Chocolate snow w/ crushed oreos, gummy bears, & glazed donut pieces). This place is so delicious. This takes the concept of frozen yogurt and applies it to shaved ice. You can choose different flavored shaved ice, and then choose from various different toppings. If you can't think of your own combination, they have pre-made combinations to choose from. Tip: Get the condensed milk in the middle, and put so more on top. read more

While I was visiting my sister at San Diego, we decided to go here for dessert! There are three things I need to note about this place 1. If you're visiting and not familiar with the area, parking is IMPOSSIBLE here ESPECIALLY during the nighttime!! It took my sister and I at least 15 minutes to find an open spot and we had to walk a little to get to our location. 2. The temporary Thai tea shaved ice is DELICIOUS. My sister and I got this with condensed milk, red bean, boba (which was my favorite topping), mochi balls, and jelly (which is my sister's favorite topping) 3. Black sesame was also really good! It's VERY strong, so if you're not a big fan of sesame I don't recommend it. Overall, the service was really good, and I'm really glad I went here! I will come here again :D read more

This place is awesome! I've only seen these kinds of places on my cooking shows and I randomly stumbled in here. My friend and I thought it was a frozen yogurt place but I was happily surprised. Never having been here I looked over the menu. They have pre designed options or you can choose a flavor and build your own by adding toppings. I decided to do a build your own. They have traditions flavors like chocolate and strawberry but also things like matcha green tea and black sesame. I wanted to be daring and try something new so I got the green tea. It was so good. It had a very subtle earthy flavor and was cold a refreshing. They had homemade mochi which was crazy good. I also added chocolate sauce which paired really well with the green tea. I would suggest finding street parking a little from this place and walking because trying to get into the super tiny parking lot next to the store is not worth the stress. It's also a pay by weight place so beware the amount of toppings you add. read more

Quality and pricing correlate perfectly at this cute dessert shop! First time here and have tried shaved snow in Taiwan so I worried about the authenticity of this place but this place is really good! I chose the Jasmine Milk Tea shaved ice with condensed milk in the middle. At the toppings bar, I got boba, coconut jelly, mochi, kiwi, etc. When mixed it all together, it was the perfect blend of sweetness and toppings all in one. I really appreciate the sweetness level of the Jasmine Milk Tea ice- not too sweet. Will definitely come back to try their different flavors of shaved ice! read more

Great place for frozen dessert! They serve shaved ice which is prepared from condensed milk. Flavors are interesting, my favorite is coconut paradise. The original milk and strawberry shortcake are also pretty good. They have a variety of toppings ranging from fruits, nuts, granolas to mochi, jellies, drizzles and syrups. The juice poppers and lychee cubes are pretty interesting too. Do try it out its quite good! read more

All I have to say is that I was disappointed. I've had Taiwanese shaved ice before and this was meh. The only thing that made the green tea shaved ice okay was the red beans, mochi, and panna cotta. The panna cotta although extra was the only thing that tasted good. read more

Loved this place the first time I tried it, and still do. I really only get one thing here though: Jasmine Trifecta with condensed milk. Love the snow, boba, and almond jelly. You can substitute any of the default ingredients in the "Favorites" options or even build your own! Super refreshing and not too bad a price for how much you actually get. They also offer stamp cards, which is a nice plus! read more

My new favorite dessert. Great service. A very small place. They weigh the cups here. Shave snow is like combining shaved ice and cream. The flavors are so good and the toppings are like at any yogurt place. I really like the black sesame shaved snow. Yum! The shaved snow has a soft fluffy texture. read more
I absolutely love this place and usually get just a half order of the small to make room for their yummy toppings. It's often busy, but you're never waiting for a really long time. The blue cooling them makes it a nice hangout spot for dessert after the many food places on Convoy. You can get a stamp card which takes some ounces off when you get them all stamped. There are benches and chairs outside or you can always plop down on the curb if you don't mind. I love the condensed milk and the servers are always pleasant. read more

Is their anything gluten free on the menu?
I believe the shaved snow is gluten free since it doesn't contain eggs. But if you visit, you should definitely ask just in case!

No, they have dairy free but not sugar free
Is this place for vegan?
Hi Tina! Yes! We have dairy free options available. Most of our snow contain milk except for Lychee, Lychee Rose, Passion Fruit, and Lemonade.
