I don't know, this place must have changed ownership because I don't recognize the staff and the experience has just gone downhill. To me, teriyaki is all about two things, the cook on the meat and the sauce. Without question theirs is probably the best teriyaki sauce around for miles. Unfortunately, that's where it stops. The chicken was overcooked and had almost no sauce. The rice had no sauce. No extra sauces were provided even though they were asked for. When we picked up the order we had to remind the old lady behind the counter to put our salads in the bag. Again, no extra salad dressings even though asked for. When we called to complain about this the person who answered the phone played dumb. Since we live 5 miles away we weren't going back. Overall it was a huge disappointment. We may go back...but I doubt it. read more

If I go somewhere like ... 5 times ... then it's gotta be someplace worth more than JUST three stars, agreed? It wasn't love at first bite with Ichi Teriyaki but a friend and I keep going back. If you know what to expect from a Teriyaki place, then this spot is perfect. It's cheap, it's fast, and it's tasty. I'm giving Ichi another star because they don't quite blow my mind but they are consistent and very friendly. I'm recognized there now too! Always good to be smiled at and acknowledged. I like this spot more and more each time I go there. Another plus is that it's never deserted. Even if it's not busy, you'll always see another diner or two. Ordered my food went next door to Big lots came back and he said he gave my order to someone else. I asked for a discount when he really didn't offer one I asked for a refund. He wanted to give me cash back but I don't like carry cash so I asked to put it back on my card and he said he didn't know how to do that to come back tomorrow. No please call someone that knows how he said he was the owner and he didn't know how. Then proceeded to call me all kinds of names and told me not to come back. Trust I will not be back he is rude doesn't know how to run a register for refunds. You shouldn't be in bussiness. read more

This use to be the my go to spot back in the day, however looks like management has changed and so has the quality. I've tried to give this place a chance several times with the new staff but I leave disappointed each time. Especially after my last visit I will not be back. Food was cold, and not good in any aspect, customer service was unsatisfactory. If I were you I would go elsewhere. read more

What a huge disappointment! I always get a lot of stir fry veggies and teriyaki chicken no sauce at other places with no problems. I got it to go & was charged over $8.... I got back to the hotel & maybe half the box had a little chicken & barely any veggies. What a disappointing experience. Will not go back... not even worth 1 star since the taste sucks too. Definitely one of my favorite Teriyaki spot in Kent, and it's conveniently close to our home. Chicken is always nicely grilled and cut, and best part is there's barely, or no fat on the meat. Surprises me because I've always been pretty picky with my meat, and I can eat here without cutting or spitting out any fat. Fried rice wasn't fried rice not good at all it was white rice with eggs and veggies. I wanted fried rice so bad and this was a let down because I ordered it on my drive home and pick it up and get home and I feel like throwing it away and going to get real dinner. I've tried several other teriyaki joints around the Kent/Federal Way area and by far this is the best in terms of flavor, price and the quantity. I picked up an order of chicken teriyaki and mixed tempura. The sauce and it's consistency is exactly the right mix where you can tell that it's teriyaki made the right way due to the fact that other teriyaki joints tend to shorthand their efforts making the sauce this place gets it just right. The tempura on the other hand could use less batter other than that it was good as well. read more

This place has really gone cheap. It used to be great and filling but today we left hungry and disappointed. There is a difference between a Shrimp and a Prawn! Don't make us pay Prawn Price when you serve.us small shrimp! Portion size decreased. An adult meal looks like a kids meal! Better off with a Happy Meal from McDonald's. read more

Sign says, "best teriyaki in town" and it definitely was. After trying most of the teriyaki restaurants in Kent I would have to say the food at Ichi teriyaki made me want to come back for seconds. The teriyaki sauce is the perfect consistency while not being too sweet and you can tell they know how to filet their chicken so you don't get those thin, dry pieces. The Teriyaki beef is very flavorful and easy to chew. I say easy to chew because other places I've tried I could barely chew through the toughness of the meat. Also, they have the best Yakisoba. I'm guessing their other dishes will be just as delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Another plus, the lady behind the counter is super sweet and always greets you with a smile. read more

There are bunches of Teriyaki joints in the area, and for the Kent area this is definitely TOPS. The location is clean and service always friendly. There is a steady stream of customers coming though their door so you know you aren't the only one eating their food that day. Located next to Big Lots and definitely not in the best area of town. The cashier and waitress acted like we didn't exist. After I swiped my card for food we sat there waiting. She took orders and we watched her bring out everyone else's food. Then I went up to ask if she had cooked ours because there was nobody in there when we got there but everybody got food before us. When I went to the counter and looked around I saw there were two couples and three family's eating. She then looked down and my food had been tucked behind the counter Togo box. This is becoming my go-to place for teriyaki while at work-it's closer than Country Burger and has better teriyaki, not to mention CB seems to be going downhill. I also tried the honey garlic chicken which was excellent-not oily at all and not too pungent as well as the katsu (just average). Their teriyaki sauce is less sweet and thinner than what I'm used to and the tonkatsu sauce is delish, but they don't give you enough of it. The salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty and not thinned out like at CB. I find the portions to be a little on the small side, but it's a little cheaper so it all evens out. I'm not sure why I haven't been here before, but count me as a regular. read more

Ichi Teriyaki is one of my favorite teriyaki restaurants in the King county area. Their prices are similar to what you'll see in other teriyaki places, but the quality and amount they give you is consistent and I enjoy what I get every time I go. The lady, who I believe is the owner, is very kind and welcoming so that's definitely a plus. The inside is fairly spacious and when it isn't busy, it has a relaxing atmosphere so I would recommend going before or after lunch hours as it can get pretty busy. My favorite food on their menu would have to be the short ribs but if you're going there for the first time, I would definitely recommend the chicken or beef yakisoba and eating inside because they serve it to you sizzling on a hotplate. read more

Seriously the BEST Teriyaki place I've had from many places I've eaten. The employees are super friendly and the place has a very quiet atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced, especially at lunch time. I always order the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and YUM!
