We dined here for our anniversary and were seated right away. The restaurant had a pleasant Asian ambiance with soft background music. Our server warmly greeted everyone at the hibachi table, engaging with all groups in a friendly, lively manner. The chef delivered an entertaining show, complete with classic hibachi flair--catching veggie bites, an onion volcano, the "Choo Choo," and the playful "pee pee man" to douse the flames. My chicken and shrimp hibachi and my wife's steak and shrimp were delicious, though the meal was a bit pricey. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and interactive experience.

I hadn't been to Ichiban for years, but I was pretty impressed! Service was good, but VERY slow to get a table even while having a reservation. The hibachi was quick for those who ordered it and the veggie rolls were fresh and tasty!

The food here was pretty good. We ate at the bar and ordered the filet and shrimp. It had plenty of flavor and was enhanced by the Yum Yum sauce. The side of fried rice was a standard small sized bowl portion and I liked the ginger dressing on the salad before the meal. The lycheetini I drank was sweet and potent and came with a lychee garnish. Franco, our bartender/server, was fun and engaging and working super hard to make all the drink orders for the tables on a busy Saturday night. Tip these servers well. They are hardworking and so nice! The booths with curtains on them looked cute and cozy too.

Food is amazing. I sat in the dining room and the food was served quick. The drink was strong and was worth the money. I was able to share it with a friend. Server was friendly and the place is clean and nice!

We came here and were seated right away. We chose to sit at a booth and not watch our food being cooked in front of us. There were several booths and private areas with curtains located inside of the business. There is also a bar inside. I ordered the hibachi salmon that was served with fried or white rice, vegetables, ginger salad, and soup. Sauces were also served on the side. Everything was really good except the salad. The ginger dressing on the salad was watery and unlike any ginger dressing I've had in the past. The portion size of my meal was large and more meat than you get at other hibachi restaurants. Our server was attentive and nice. I would def come back.

I give them 10/10 due to the food, the customer service and the drinks! Came here to celebrate with my sorority and the dinner was excellent from beginning to the end. We were blessed to have a cook that knew what he was doing because the food was so flavorful and filling. The filet mignon I got was very tender and he was not afraid to add any extra garlic butter. If you ask me, Ichiban is better than Benihana by far and I love this location. Can't wait to go back!

Ichiban is a good place for both hibachi and sushi. You'll always have plenty of leftovers! Restaurant is set up typical hibachi style, with multiple seats around each grill area. They do the usual hibachi entertainment and staff is always super friendly! This time we ordered take out, and it's never as good as being in person, but all the items we ordered were correct. When you order hibachi, it comes with both miso soup and a salad. Yum yum sauce is always a must!!

I used to go to Ichiban quite regularly when I worked over at Saint Joe's. Some of my coworkers really loved the grilled items. I have always been a sushi girl. it's been a while since I've been to Ichiban so I decided to give it a whirl. The Did Cora look pretty much unchanged since the last time I was there. I ordered a carry out for two pieces of salmon nigiri, one piece of scallop and a rainbow roll. The salmon was tender, the scallop was tender and buttery. I was not as happy with the rainbow roll. Some people may like it this way but I like my California rolls and rainbow rolls to have crabs salad in them. I think that the krab stick alone is just too dry. But that's my tastes you might like it other ways. It was a carry out order so I can't comment on the beer selection. But it was a solid meal and I would go back again.

I definitely loved this restaurant. We definitely will be going back. The food was phenomenal. I recommend the salmon and vegetables with rice.

A cheese popover was complimentary, one for each of us. Very cheesy, hot from the oven. We also shared the crab cake appetizer. It comes with two crab cakes. Has flash fried leeks and a roasted pepper sauce. Big chunks of crab. Yummy. For entrees I got the 8 ounce fillet mignon with a Cabernet deli glacé, and the cheddar au gratin potato side. My husband got the scallops with a garlic mashed potato side and a grilled asparagus side. The fillet was absolutely delicious. So so tender and flavorful. Didn't really need the glacé, which was also delicious. The cheddar gratin potatoes were just ok. Not a lot of flavor, but it was HUGE. Could easily have been shared by 3 adults no problem. However, I would skip this side. My husband enjoyed his scallops, but there were only six. He's a big guy so luckily his one pound of garlic mashed potatoes, which were better than the gratin potatoes, and grilled asparagus helped to fill him up. The sides are massive, so order with the intent to share, unless you like taking home leftovers. I also had the Baking in Basil mocktail. It was terrific. Basil, blueberry syrup, simple syrup, lime ginger beer. Very refreshing. Husband drank water. Total bill was $300 plus tip. Only for 25th Anniversary. I just can't justify that price for a normal Saturday night out. We more than likely won't be back, but it was a nice one time experience.

As we were walking to the restaurant, my diabetic mother started feeling her blood sugar drop. By the time we got inside, it had fallen to 44, so we headed to the bar and asked for a Sprite. The bartenders took care of her immediately and refused to take payment. They continued to monitor her, bringing her another glass as soon as she finished one, all while taking care of their many other patrons at the bar. They were kind, attentive, and made her feel truly cared for. Ben was our waiter, and he was also very attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us often. The food was so delicious we tipped the kitchen staff twice (I love that this was offered as an option on the menu!). We all sampled bites from each other's orders, and I honestly couldn't tell you who had the best dish because there wasn't a bad bite at the table. My sister even struggled to decide whether to enjoy every bit of her steak there or save some to enjoy the next day. Despite how delicious everything was, we saved room for dessert, and I'm so glad we did. The crème brûlée and the chocolate chip cookie cheesecake were to die for! As we were finishing our meal, we realized we would need to-go boxes, but since we had taken an Uber into Ann Arbor and the theater doesn't allow outside food, we were worried the leftovers would go to waste. Matt, the manager, came to the rescue and said he would be happy to hold our food until after the show. We were so grateful! Ben carefully boxed everything up, and we were off to the show. I cannot commend this business enough on their high-class team. A restaurant is made or broken by the staff they employ, and every single person we encountered went above and beyond in their professionalism, courteousness, and genuine hospitality.
