Came here to celebrate a birthday, we were a big party of 23. They were able to accomodate us in such late notice. The food was good, typical buffet with slightly more seafood selection than most buffets. I think their seafood shrimp boil was actually my fave, next the Mongolian station, sushi station was good too, crab legs were kinda skinny-but good enough for the price. I've been to Ichiban Buffet several times and while there's nothing spectacular about the food, you do get a decent variety of dishes that comes with your standard Asian buffet (sushi, teppanyaki grill, crab legs, Chinese dishes, chicken wings, pizza, salad bar). You get a lot of bang for your buck and I would recommend the teppanyaki station as they will cook your food in front of you. I would recommend coming in when they open while the food is fresh off the kitchen. It can get packed in there during the lunch or dinner rush which means you have to compete with other diners with the popular food items like crab legs. The servers are pretty attentive with clearing used plates and refilling beverages. Additionally, they should offer crab crackers since it's very cumbersome to eat crab legs without them. Now, the reason why I can only (currently) give it 3 stars is that we came here on Friday, 11/28/25 around 1:00 PM. The place was busy but the second we got to the hostess stand, we caught a whiff of a sewer smell. We got seated immediately, but the sewer smell got stronger and just really nasty inside the dining area where our table was. P-U. We were seated for about 30 seconds but decided to leave. I don't know how the other people who were eating could do so with that smell assaulting their noses. I hope the management addresses this issue. It will be a while before I reconsider coming back here. read more

Overall prob 6/10. There are other similar buffets that I'd prob go to instead. Liked: I thought the food was pretty tasty. The sushi color looked fine, and tasted good. Snow crab legs (chilled) were plentiful but a bit small, and they didn't snap - instead they were kinda soggy and it made it harder to get the meat. At the hot bar, they also served different crabs that I've never seen. I believe it was Stone Crabs that were split down the middle, and cooked In a yummy garlicky sauce. But they were difficult to get meat from. One of the claws was impossible to crack. Oh, and they kept the cracker tools behind the staff's station, so I had to ask for one. Service was good. They brought us water/tea, and took our used plates when needed. Didn't like: Right when I walked into the lobby, I got smacked with that weird odor (like that MSG + Seafood + dirty mop smell at Chinese markets). I don't know that it is, but not very appetizing. The area was well-lit and spacious, and the layout was similar to that of the Gardena Buffet that was here before. The food was average--not terrible, but not memorable either. Maybe it's because they just opened and haven't finalized their menu, but it would have been helpful to have the dish names displayed. They also do not have a soft serve machine! As I sit here at the restaurant for MY birthday dinner with 16 people including 1 child my party was told by 2 waitresses that we can not get anymore hit water for our HOT TEA due to there being limitations on HOT water per table due to them saying that they would need to have enough to feed everyone else. Mind you,my party is split into 2 and we already paid. All we wanted was some extra HOT WATER in the BUFFET restaurant. All the years, I have NEVER heard of limitations on HOT WATER until tonight and this restaurant. The food was ok,not the best. As I walked to get food, 2 waitresses walked infront of me without saying excuse me. Yes, I know they were prolly busy catering to their customers, but PLEASE have the curtesy to say excuse me or WAIT until I pass. Took me 30+ min in line for the Mongolian food, the cook added soy sauce after I asked for only garlic and spicy sauce. They picked up most of the food with 30 min left and it's took me forever to get my Mongolian so by the time I finally got my food, most of the trays at the buffet were picked up. Came here with my partner because we had a free birthday meal coupon. Our expectations weren't high. We had the presumption that the food was going to be alright. Well, the food was just that...alright. The sushi rice wasn't fresh. It was evident that it was out for a while because some of the rice grains were hard and the avocado slices were oxidized. The crab legs were ok. Some of the food items were luke warm to room temperature--could be because the plates that you grab aren't warm so the food quickly cools down. The calamari were rubber-tough and the bbq'd pork ribs were also tough. The egg drop soup had absolutely no flavor. It felt like I had taken a spoonful of oil even though it didn't feel oily. Some of the food items I did enjoy were the black pepper chicken, teriyaki chicken, a buttered shrimp (shell on), beef broccoli and tofu broccoli. The braised chicken feet had really good flavor. The servers were friendly and picked up our finished plates promptly. Would I come here again? Not very likely. Maybe if I get another free birthday meal, haha. Don't come here if you're expecting the best Chinese food you'll ever have in your life or a Las Vegas-esque kind of buffet because you'll be very disappointed.
