We were a little disappointed tonight we were looking forward to coming to eat tonight. The food just did NOT taste the same like when they first opened our favorites just did NOT taste the same and then I thought maybe I was tripping so I went back for my second plate and I was NOT it was tripping G there was NO flavor to my favorite shrimp and also the corn. On another note why is it that their restroom is NOT stocked with soap and toilet seat covers . They were pretty busy so not sure why the restroom does not get any attention. read more

Came on a Monday at 630pm with a party of two and was seated immediately. Everything we ate was delicious with the exception of the cheese cake it was dry but them shrimps were delicious. Loved that they had crab legs and ice cream not many places have those for this price point. I was there on Sunday afternoon at 1pm got in no problem, but after that people were waiting for seating on a comfortable couch provide by the restaurant and outside nice wood bench similar to upgraded bus stops. It's very hard to come by a good buffet that serves quality food with a variety of options - that's where Ichiban excels. Came in around 7pm and was seated immediately. The waiter was quick with our drinks and utensils so within the first minute I got to help myself to their buffet. Ambiance was great - lots of seating, not cramped, and plenty of room. My favorites: I don't know what the sushi names were but they were all delicious. I loved the gyozas and the fried rice was tasty. This spot is going to become a regular for me. Not bad, not great. But at $22ish per person for dinner it's worth a try. They had a decent selection of food, and I think the main draw is all of the crab they have. They also give you gloves to help with the crab. I don't love crab personally, but I generally go for sashimi to meet my "buffet worth it" check list. The downside is that when we went for dinner on Friday, they put out sashimi once and it went quickly. Then they didn't put it one again for the rest of the 1.5 hours we were there. Nigiri was mostly imitation crab. Sushi rolls were mostly California roll based. Went there last Thursday the food was cold and dry, the teppanyaki section was filthy and small flies were everywhere inside the section and on the food. They had a huge variety but again it was cold and dry. Service was okay most of the workers speaks very limited English. When I asked for the manager to report the situation I was told that the manager was not there. First time at this buffet and everything was good. The food was fresh, delicious, and the place was clean. Well worth it. 100% recommend.

We arrived around 6 PM which was right before the dinner. Rush started and our weight was not long to get seated. It was just two of us, my daughter and I. You order your drink when seated and you pay at the end the buster is walking around are really diligent on taking the trash and empty plates and refilling the drinks. The food selection was amazing. The only thing that was weird for me was the shrimp stuffed with cheese. It taste tasted like shrimp poop. Also, their fried rice could be better, but the coconut shrimp was hitting and the crab legs. The sushi was actually spicy and they had a lot of other food. I'm kind of used to buffets having an ice cream bar, but this one didn't and it had very few dessert selections. Some of the food was not labeled, but I would say 90% of it was. We tried almost everything, and it was delicious. I would say the pricing is pretty average and the fact that it was nicely decorated and clean is nice plenty of parking in the parking lot and lots of seating inside if we are ever in the area. Food was good and there's lots of options to choose from especially the seafood selection here! I recommend this spot if you're hungry or want to go out with your family to eat lots of food for a great price! Crab legs were good and Cajun crab was also good! It's a tad bit lower than 4 stars. The service is great and the place is clean. The sushi is well made, fried plantains were so yummy, shrimp in sauce, and other things were good as well. Like others have said there is room for improvement. For me the main let down is the very bland fried rice, chow mein and other thin noodles that are available to grab from the buffet lines. It's very plain, both times I went. Now I don't go to the buffet for a bunch starch but I like a small scoop here and there. Also the dim sum is very stuck together. A little upset with the service today, all the food was poorly seasoned, it was like everything had taste but no flavor or was spicy but yet bland. The ambience was okay, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary and the vibe was very peaceful inside, the crab was absolutely gross today, either it had been sitting for a while or was way overcooked. I loved the shrimp and fish selection. They also had a couple bao options. You can also have them cook some noodles in front of you the way you want it. My kids also enjoyed this buffet so that's a plus! There was sushi, but I didn't have any. I think if I were to come back, I would make room for the pork rib soup that is all the way in the back! Children prices are for only up to 10 years old. If they are 11 years old and up, then they are considered an adult and pay adult prices. Firstly I've never done this before and which can obviously show how upset and angry I am. Most because I even shared with my wife, before this situation I absolutely love this place. * I visited Ichiban Buffet in Gardena earlier today to dine in for my son's 9th birthday. This restaurant was his choice for his birthday meal, so we were hoping for a positive and welcoming experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. While my wife and son were eating, one of the waitresses began hovering directly in front of our table, standing there in an obvious and uncomfortable way. It was noticeable enough that my child even picked up on it, and it made the entire table feel uneasy. It honestly felt like she was standing there to monitor whether I was eating, even though we were there specifically for my son's birthday and my wife had paid for her meal. At one point, I took a single bite of my son's brownie. Immediately, the same worker rushed over and repeatedly told me -- very abruptly -- that I could not eat unless I paid. Before we could even respond or explain, she walked away. When I politely asked her to come back so I could speak with her, she began speaking in another language and acted as though she could not communicate, even though she clearly understood what was happening. Whatever she did say was from a distance and not understandable. I then spoke with another employee and calmly explained the situation. Instead of an apology, acknowledgment, or even basic customer care -- especially considering this was a child's birthday celebration -- I was simply offered water. There was no effort to de-escalate the situation, recognize my son's birthday, or make the experience right in any way. To make matters worse, several staff members gathered a couple of tables behind us, which made the situation feel even more uncomfortable and unwelcoming. At that point, the atmosphere felt tense and awkward, and it honestly ruined what was supposed to be a special moment for my child. Overall, we left feeling uncomfortable, disappointed, and like our money was wasted. This was not a good birthday experience for my son, and I expected far better customer service and professionalism. read more
