It's absolutely AMAZING here the food was just sooo good like I can't explain it. I haven't had good sushi like this in a while and this place will be seeing me on the daily because it's just so flipping great. The service is amazing and they provided us with water which we didn't expect and I find that very nice for a small business. The place made me feel at home and comfortable I ate in peace and enjoyed EVERY bite there were no problems with my order and the prices were great. It was nice and quiet as well. I definitely rate this place a 1000000000/10.

Such a wondrous new find!! :D We came here for dinner recently after being enticed from some delicious-lookin' photos online. It was hard to decide on what to get but I eventually settled on a large poke bowl because it's been a while. I was def not disappointed. The portions are generous and the prices are very fair. The food is delicious, service is quick/friendly, and the ingredients are fresh (they don't skimp on em' either!)! They're also really close to me, so this is a win on every level possible. Will be coming here often to try out a bunch of other menu items! P.S. Much love to them also for opening at 10am on the daily and offering boba too (ther milk teas come with boba and lychee jelly!)! What more could I ask for?!

Every time I go here I feel like I'm just blown away! No pictures this time because I realized only after I had eaten it-- ooops! So, SO fresh and nice big rolls and fish slices! They don't skimp! (The greeting/talking to customers- I really don't mind them not doing that. I feel peaceful just being able to go in, smile at the man behind the counter, and ordering my sushi. That's enough for me.) I'd say I'm a regular here now! I always recommend this to everyone!

The place offers a pleasant and easy ordering experience with a standard, simple design that keeps the focus on the food. The dishes are fresh and flavorful, especially the large poke bowl made to order with the option to add plenty of extras, which makes it both satisfying and customizable. Everything tastes clean and well-prepped. The place is ran by Cinco man so not much to say about the service, however, everything was on time and tasty. One thing to note: they don't serve alcohol, so plan accordingly. Overall, a solid spot for a fresh sushi or poke fix.

First time getting a sushi roll from here delivered and WOW do they have this process down! My roll was nearly tucked in a sturdy and nice looking box. It wasn't messy or splattered at all. Tasted great, of course, and good value! Will definitely be ordering take out sushi from here again!

I ended up in this plaza on accident and decided to give this place a try for the burrito sushi. The place was clean and plenty of tables. The four stars is only because I wanted to ask a question and tried to wait but noone was around. They only came out once the order was placed on the kiosk. As for the food I ended up getting tempura and a poke burrito. The ingredients were all fresh so the textures and the flavors together were perfect. The tempura was also fried really well and the batter isn't super thick which I love. A hidden gem I would go back to.

This place is delicious!! I could not have been more satisfied. I got the Burrlto with salmon and it's like a giant handroll, so filling and so yummy . You get to create it yourself with whatever protein you want, with rice and whatever other fillings you want. They also have a create your own roll, which I did. I made my own hamachi(yellowtail) roll and the chef did it just right, as if he was reading my mind. It's cute little shop, with sitting inside and out. And they have two booths! I love booths. They have definitely found a new regular in me. A hidden gem in Martinez that begs to be discovered by the masses.

This place has it all. Sushi, poke, onigiri! All are pretty good! The prices and portions here are really good too. Service was as good as a self kiosk can be. There was only one visible worker but we came at 6pm on a wednesday. But food took about 10min to come out. There seems to be a lot of online orders however because the guy was busy. We dined in but had to ask for stuff like extra plate and napkins and water. For ambiance, the restaurant is in a strip mall and when you walk in it has a very chipotle/poke setup with a kiosk to order. Definitely more of a take out kinda place. Would definitely order takeout if Im in the area again!

The husband and I placed an order for takeout and he went to pick up our order. Ichiko Sushi is more of a grab and go/take out spot as seating is very limited. They have a poke bar where you can create your own poke bowl (would need to try at some point!), and a vast menu considering the size of the place. Other than poke bowls, they do some bento boxes, many types of rolls / sushi, and spam musubi, and something they all origiri (not the triangle shaped rice balls with filling). I tried a couple rolls. They had so many to choose from, so I solely went based on the names because I didn't have time to read through everything. What I tried were - Black Jack Roll - Salmon, avocado, cilantro inside, yellowtail, jalapeño, black tobiko, special sauce, and spicy mayo on the outside. Doesn't quite take me back to the black jack table, but I love the name and most things in this roll. What I didn't appreciate was the cilantro inside. Bleh! LOL. Most got picked out, and the rest of the roll was amazing. Packaged very nicely too. Love the huge pieces of salmon inside as well. Straight Flush Roll - Tempura oyster, crab meat, cilantro inside, streamed shrimp, avocado, unagi sauce, tobiko on the outside. It's been years since I've gotten a straight flush in poker... video poker, but this was a fun roll! I wouldn't have gotten it based on the description alone, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fried oysters inside didnt have much flavor, but the roll was good in a texture standpoint. More cilantro? That went into the nope pile. Bento box with chicken Katsu and spicy chicken - comes with the usual bento boxes stuff, such as salad and soup, rice, etc. The chicken Katsu was done pretty well in comparison to our usual takeout spots. The spicy chicken wasn't that great. Lacked flavor in comparison. Avocado onigiri - seaweed, rice, avocado, spam, egg. This was decent. Not the typical origiri, but the ingredients was a good mix. Most of the flavor came from the spam, and texture came from the avocado. Was OK, wouldn't get again though. Chicken Katsu origiri - somehow this was a miss for me. It lacked flavor and most were plain tasting. Maybe something was missing? Overall, I'd return to try some more rolls and perhaps try a poke bowl. People here were nice and helpful. Love the convenience of online ordering and going there to pick up. Definitely not one of those nice sit down spots, but solid spot to bring some great food home.

I'm reviewing Ichiko based on my two go-to items: the poke bowl and sushi. Let me start by saying this feels like I'm giving away one of my favorite hidden gems in the area. Ichiko's poke bowls are simply outstanding--perfect portion sizes, great prices, and incredible flavor. The fish is consistently fresh, and the veggie selection is unmatched. No extra charge for avocado and no restrictions on how many veggies you can choose, which is a huge plus for me. **Poke Overall Rating**: 8.1/10 Hands down, this is my top spot for poke in the area. Over the past six months, I've also tried several sushi rolls here: - **Black Jack Roll**: 7.8/10 - **Honey Bunny Roll**: 7.6/10 - **Crystal Roll**: 7.6/10 - **Pink Lady Roll**: 7.2/10 - **Spicy Girl Roll**: 7.4/10 - **Alhambra Roll**: 7.1/10 - **OMG Roll**: 7.3/10 When it comes to sushi, Ichiko is one of my top two spots. It's a standout in Contra Costa County and definitely one of the better options around. The convenience of online ordering makes it even better. **Sushi Overall Rating**: 7.3/10 While I enjoy the sushi here, it's the poke bowl that makes Ichiko a must-visit.

I don't get the 4 and 5 star ratings...? Came in Saturday 2 pm. Customer service was bad. No greeting and interaction from the male behind register. We felt so invisible during our visit. We even had to ask for boxes. He wasn't attentive. No one said goodbye to us or thanked us for coming in. The chef came out and collected trays and he made eye contact and smiled. Got the bento box: Miso soup is watered down, no flavor, no salt. Salmon teriyaki was microwaved: tough and dry. Spam musubi didn't have correct spam and rice ratio. 80% rice, 20% spam. It wasn't wrapped in nuri, just a strip to keep it together. CA roll was ok and best part was the salad leaves. We would give them another try, but after the lack of customer service, we'll spend money elsewhere.

So glad to have found this place! My friend and I were craving sushi and this happened to be in the area so we checked it out. The inside is clean and well kept with a good amount of seating options. Ordering can be done via employee or ordering kiosk. The menu offers a variety of options, from sushi rolls to onigiri to poke to boba drinks. You're never short of choices! I ordered the crystal roll, unagi onigiri, and salmon onigiri. The crystal roll was delicious--very saucy and a nice combo of flavors. The onigiris were also very good--a cool twist from the conventional onigiri. I got a crab one and salmon mayo one. Generous sizes, although it can get a little messy. Would come back to try their other stuff!

Being from Hawaii I love me some musubi. But TBH never had inigiri before. Didn't even know it was a thing. Basically it's an open face musubi. I had the chx katsu curry one and a chx katsu kimchi one. As we say in Hawaii "broke da mouth". Just order online or be ready to be overwhelmed on the touch screen when you walk in. Will be back for sure. As an aside. Wife had the salmon poke bowl. She loved it. And just learned this: Apparently in the Kanto (Eastern Japan) area they are called o-musubi and in the Kansai (Western Japan) area they are called o-nigiri. I get em now, bah. read more

Food: 11/10 Service: 9/10 ambiance: 8/10 okay so my daughter is in love with their sushi. she texted me while she was on her lunch break at work to tell me the roll she ordered from them was heavenly and that I had to try it one day... that one day was yesterday; a Saturday afternoon. we ordered to-go but we used the kiosk inside (extra bonus points for me bc sometimes human interaction, for me, can be taxing). easy to use and simple to find food options. it's clean inside, bright and airy; I gave it an 8/10 bc I didn't use the bathroom. we waited for our food inside the establishment. from start of order to our order being ready... less than 8mins. the worker who brought out our to-go order was very nice as we exchanged a few words before we left. ok. now to the food... I didn't ordered what I wanted bc my daughter didn't want me to starve (I wanted a salad and some edamame). so she ended up choosing me a roll with some tempura shrimp inside... DEAR LORT! I only needed one bite to figure it out--IT WAS SOOOOOO Good! the taste, the aroma.. it was,... dare I say... almost perfect. she ordered herself a roll and roll for her and I to share; they entire order was near perfect! will most definitely be back to try more food bc I can only imagine how amazing the rest of the menu is. read more

Not as good as I had hoped from the reviews. Got the california roll, chicken teriyaki, and the mango milk tea. The milk tea tasted weird; not very mango at all, and had old boba. The chicken teriyaki and the california roll weren't the best, but were OK. Large Poke bowl with salmon and tuna and a spider onigiri were both generously portioned and delicious. Not too salty with the inclusion of the spam and well balanced with the fried soft shell crab the onigiri got a little messy near the end but was very satisfying dish. The bowl was great with every ingredient good quality; many places offer mango with their poke bowl and it is hard and unripe. The mango was juicy and delicious, the fish tasted fresh and everything was well seasoned. Totally empty on a Tuesday afternoon this place is the definition of a hidden gem. Affordable, easy parking and fast service with a kiosk. Only two four tops inside with several high top twos along the wall and a few outside, seating is limited but for now it is still fairly easy to find. If more people find this place I can imagine that won't be the case for long. The best poke I've had in the area and if the fish is similar quality in the sushi I can imagine it would be close to the best around here of that. read more

I am writing a review from the perspective of a to-go order for a party platter. It wasn't bad, but I can't say anything really blew me away. I will say the presentation of the party platter was fantastic! Alot of sushi places just throw sushi together, but they took the time to have nice decorations, with separators between the rolls. Some negatives -Was quoted for 30-45 minute ready time, but ended up taking an hour and fifteen minutes. -The party platter had 3-4 fried rolls, and by the time the tray got home they were lukewarm and most people avoided them. They are probably much better fresh in store, but in this situation, I would recommend they take fried rolls off the party platter, especially knowing they aren't going to be eaten right away. For local sushi in Martinez, Hanabi's is still my go to, but I will still say this place is pretty good. Just nothing that blew me away, but not a bad spot at all. read more

Placed an order for an avocado roll, miso soup, and 1 other roll for pick up. It took over an hour. Said it would take 30min after ordering. After waiting for 20min inside the restaurant, someone finally came out front. He had his ear pods on and ignored the people standing at the register. Finally, when he came over, I gave him my name for the order and he said "yea. 5more minutes." Then turned and walked away. Not to mention the music blasting so loud I was having to yell to the person I was with, while standing next to one another. HORRIBLE customer service, and basic food. read more

Took the dogs to the dog park across the way. Headed to have lunch afterwards and wanted to poke. Stopped by and really easy to order. You can either order with the employee or order from the kiosk. The ambiance is pretty boring and plan... this place is a grab and go situation. I know other poke places let you and unlimited add ons. When you order a small you get only 5 choices. Sometimes I want a lot of different flavors and textures, but I can see it not fitting in the container. A small after tax runs around $16.00, surprised how expensive it's become. read more

Super delicious with many options, really fresh! Ordered everything online for pick up. I recommend ordering online so you don't hold up the line because there's so many options and you can see all the pictures. We got a bento box with three options which were California rolls, katsu chicken, and takoyaki balls. The takoyaki balls are the best I have had around Martinez! The eel onigiri was very good! Lastly the chicken teriyaki bowl with the sauce we substituted the rice for spring mix. This place is very clean and modern & I loved the drink station. Very nice and helpful staff! read more

The Virginia Hills area of PH/Martinez is getting lots of sushi places. Decided to try the "just opened" Ichiko Sushi. Picked them because of their menu beyond sushi- curry, katsu, poke bowls, poke burritos, and onigiri. They are still working the kinks out but they show potential. They were extremely busy tonight and our order took a half hour longer than anticipated. When we got home our order was not correct (ordered two onigiri and only got one which was not one I ordered and a roll instead of the other onigiri. Poke bowl also not topped with what I ordered) HOWEVER what we had was good. We ordered the out of control roll (lots of crunchies and soft shell crab), the Gina roll with tuna and cream cheese (different), the poke bowl, and the Baja roll(best one!! Spicy! Lots of different flavors and fresh albacore) the onigiri were good and can't wait to try more. Was really bummed to not get the ones we ordered. The miso soup is fine but wouldn't order again. read more

When I walked in here the first time, I was really sad to not see more people in here. It seems like it's a guy and his dad working the shop. Something told me they were very genuine and hardworking people. They decorated the store very well. They have a little open refrigerated space for all the kind of drinks that you would want. There's even a screen to order and pay just like in boba tea shops. The decal on the walls is VERY CUTE. You can tell they put a lot of thought into making this restaurant appealing. Their sushi is REALLY GOOD. There are SO many options and whatever you like, you will find. I genuinely do not write many reviews but I think this place really deserves more customers and YOU deserve good sushi I went in today just before closing and got 6 rolls. They added an extra free one just out of the kindness of their hearts. I am so touched by their kindness. They didn't have to do that but I really want to support this small business. Please try it!!! ALSO their packaging is SO CUTE I've never seen it before. read more

You HAVE to use a self order, they should remove it. Sticky screen, impersonal service, can't ask questions or recommendations about food. I won't be tipping anymore. Poke bowls are great, though. Service is slow, only one worker. They don't know who ordered what from the machine. read more

Food quality was excellent and everything was tasty! I had 3 onigiri, 3 classic rolls and 1 specialty roll. The negihama came unrolled a bit but it still tasted good. Bummed that they were out of curry for my katsu curry onigiri but the katsu was nice and crispy. The seasoning on the rice was excellent on the onigiri, but sad that I couldn't taste it in the rolls. I enjoy when restaurants actually season their rice. Staff was friendly and helpful. I went in about 5 minutes after I ordered online and asked how long it might take so I could run an errand at Safeway and was told 15 minutes, and when I got back it was ready a little early. All the poke ingredients looked good and I'll try a poke bowl next time. Interesting that they are open at 9am, I hope they get good business because I'm happy to have a place like this so close! read more

This place is great, just giving it a four because they need to get their online ordering system fixed or need to pay more attention to it. I used their own website, but I ordered ahead for my second visit since they asked me to use the kiosk the first time anyway. When I went in the order wasn't printed and he had to find it, so it negates the purpose of order ahead! However, food is great and I love having sushi and poke in the shopping center! read more

I placed an online order and my food was ready by the time I came for pick up (~15 minutes) Fast&Friendly service. Sushi was fresh and delicious. I felt it was a good fish/filling to rice ratio. The containers they pack their rolls in are so cute. It helps give take out sushi more of an experience. Most sushi places will pack all sushi in one container and call it a day. I would come again to try their poke bowls and onigiri. They also had boba too which I'll have to come try next time as well. read more

I was there around 5:30pm on a weekday. It was about 72*F, and the place filled up pretty quick with only 5 customers. The staff were fairly quick with the customer service, so the line moved pretty well. I asked for 1 scoop of Jamoca, and I was surprised at how small the serving was. But this location only charges $4.99 for 1 scoop in a cup, so I'm okay with the serving. Located at Morello Ave & Arnold Drive, inside the shopping center

Today I ordered three items bento box including sashimi. My request of additional rice is not happening. Also, The salad Dress is missing. The soy sauce is missing. I'm not sure how I am going to eat my salad and my sashimi. It's pretty much like I ordered a Boba tea with getting a fat straw. I do not cook at all at home. That's why I order take out. I do not have any salad dressing or soy sauce at home. I really do not want to make a trip to come back to shop . instead , I have to stop by the Walgreens to buy a soy sauce and a salad dressing. That is really unpleasant this time that so had to remove my 5 stars. I guess I have to check every time I pick it up. Whoever worked today are different staff that needs to pay attention to this . It's mainly a take out restaurant so the to-go details are important. read more

I eat poke often, and I am a regular of Oke Poke in Walnut Creek. I love to try new poke spots when they pop up. This spot really just seems like a cheap knockoff of Oke Poke. I noticed their process and steps are actually quite similar, down to the names of sauces and toppings. Quite a coincidence. Well the fish didn't seem very fresh. There weren't any customers, so I can imagine the fish sits. Also, not a fan of places that try to do too much. Poke shouldn't be blended with a sushi restaurant in this manner. Nice staff though. But if we're talking about the overall experience, it is just not good. I love Sushi Time across the street for sushi if we're comparing that part of their restaurant too. Don't see this place lasting. read more

Was recommended to check this place out as it recently opened. It is not good, at least from my experience. The place seemed disorganized upon first impression. Service was fine. Food was lacking. The sushi rolls just didn't seem fresh. Noticed they also serve poke (VERY similar to Oke Poke in Walnut Creek, which I'm very familiar with. Same sauce names and toppings as another reviewer mentioned). Not sure if this is by design. Judging by the sushi, wouldn't come back for anything else. read more

Martinez Ichiko Sushi is absolutely fantastic! The staff are friendly, attentive, and professional, making you feel truly welcome. The food is incredibly fresh, and every piece of sushi is crafted with care and full of flavor. Prices are very reasonable, offering great value for the quality. I came here because a good friend of mine recommended me this place. She said it was amazing food so I came to try it, spoiler alert the food was actually amazing, the employees were super nice and it was a good price. I definitely recommend this place for sushi and poki bowl lovers, or just anyone in general. read more
