Gyudon
Victor L.

I drive by this place quite a bit, so i finally decided to stop in and give it a try. Although the atmosphere and service were fine, the food itself was lacking. I got the Ichiro Ramen which was an enormous serving with thick noodles and thick broth, but was very lacking in depth of flavor in both the broth and the Chashu. My wife got the gyudon which was about average. The Karaage and shrimp were fine, but nothing to write home about. Maybe some of the other ramen dishes have more flavor, but the Ichiro Ramen was disappointing for me.

Service was great and friendly. I ordered number one with chicken broth and it did not disappoint! Food was very filling and flavorful . Ambiance is intimate and fun.

The food was really good. We enjoyed all of it. The service was great . I loved the ambiance.

Tonkotsu black
Caroline N.

I love this ramen restaurant, especially since it's so close to my fav study spot. The ramen is reasonably priced, and my tonkotsu black was delicious. It was enough to feed 2 people. We also ordered an extra egg. Service was attentive. Interior is spacious with wooden booths. Never any complaints when I come here

So glad to see Ichiro Sapporo Ramen landed at Bellaire Food Street I. The ramen noodles are always cooked to perfection. I tried Tan Tan Ramen today. I was warned by the menu as this is a spicy dish. So, I ordered an unsweetened tea. It is from soda fountain, which means there is no tartness from the real tea. It was actually a good thing to calm my tummy if the ramen got too spicy. The soup is balanced with hot oil and bone broth. Not overly pungent like the Sichuan peppercorn I was expecting. There were plenty of minced pork in this Tan Tan Ramen. Employees were friendly and knowledgeable. I like the decorations as so festive to be added to my fun dining experience.

The place looks OK Service wasn't good We came in at lunch with only 1 table of 2 guests then later a couple more came Once food was served , we couldn't find any waiters to ask for things while they had 3 servers in house. Food was extremely salty. I barely ate 1/3 of my ramen bowl. The curry rice was also very salty. Don't know why the cook put way too much salt in them. Unfortunately it will be a no coming back on side.

Quiet and Small Ramen place at the end of a strip mall. Ramen came out pretty quickly and service was good! Everything on the bowl was cooked to perfection

Spicy Miso Ramen w/ extra egg

The service was quick and efficient. Whole dining experience took about 45 minutes. The staff were on top of everything and very kind. The ramen was amazing - I had the spicy miso w/ pork and it was 10/10. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious ramen.

tsukemen
Darian C.

Super creamy ramen that isn't too salty! I got the tsukemen and my family got the tonkatsu ramen, the ichiro ramen, the fried squid and takoyaki. I thought that the tonkatsu was my favorite out of all of them because it was creamy but not too rich. I think that the tsukemen broth was a bit more one the bland side (it tasted more like regular broth) when it should be more flavorful since it is a dipping ramen.

Order a Tonkotsu to go, it was delicious and not that expensive like I thought. The customer service was really nice . They also have anime on the TV while you wait for the ramen and good music.

Great service, food was excellent Will definitely recommend this place Really enjoy dinner w/family

This place was not up to par with the cleanliness the dining area seemed lightly cleaned. The food seemed a bit off, we ordered the ragoons and sweet/spicy chicken wings for starters...well the food came out suspiciously fast but yet was not pipping hot as if it was fresh off the grill or fryer. The wings were clearly older meat that had a rancid smell to them and they were hard to the touch with a darker brown coating as if they were recooked from a previous order. When I brought this to the attention of my server she did politely remove the item but the kitchen staff in the back seemed very immature about the ordeal as if we were complaining for no valid reason. The service however was really receptive and I appreciated how tentative our server was for our requests.

Shio ramen
Mindy L.

3.5 stars I have to say I enjoyed all the food we ordered here, but minus half a star because our entire party was so so thirsty from the food for the rest of the day AND the day after. I'm not sure if it was the Msg or the high salt content. Either way, it wasn't the greatest post-dining experience. Back to the food. We got the karaage (fried chicken pieces), shio ramen with chicken and tsukemen with chicken. I enjoyed my shio ramen broth, although it was on the salty side, but that's usually the case for ramen. However I thought the noodles were over cooked (i prefer more al dente noodles). My husbands tsukemen was good as well, and I liked that his noodles were thicker and cooked perfectly, and not soggy bc they weren't sitting in the dipping broth. The dipping broth had a nice dashi flavor, which I really liked. The karaage was decent, but nothing extraordinary for a fried chicken. When deciding what to order, I kept going back and forth between shio and vegetarian broth. When I asked the server what's in the vegetarian broth, he obviously had no idea either. His answer was "it's a packet we open and add water to it." Um, that is not helpful at all! That's how I decided on the shio broth since at least the menu stated it was made of chicken broth. Overall I enjoyed the food, but definitely did not enjoy the severe thirst afterwards. Dine at your own risk!

Flying V Harvest was fantastic. I drank that broth like I just came out of the Sahara. So good. The Impossible meat fusion is a funny add but a good protein bump. It was a few days ago but I think I'm still full from that ramen bowl. The vibe is modern high ceiling bumping music; my in-laws found it to be too loud. I think they are giving you an excuse to lean in and get a little closer to your companion. The vibe is chic yet also casual so bring whoever you want but this would work for date night. The font on the menus is squint inducing so do your research ahead of time or prepare to spend more time perusing the menu than usual, especially with the dim lighting. They offer thin or thick noodles and can mix some broth options to adjust spice level. Drinks- the smoked in front of your face whiskey is a treat and a show. Solid spot. No regrets. Salivating at the thought of the next visit.

We decided we wanted ramen on a recent cold Houston night and went to one of our consistent places,…read moreJINYA. JINYA is located in the heart of midtown in a popular restaurant strip. Their ramen is flavorful and solid and their service is consistent. Parking: parking is free in the garage around the corner from JINYA. We went during the week and the garage was not packed. There's also paid street parking around the restaurant that you can find but look for signs to know when you have to pay and when you don't. Service: service here is very good. They have an army of waitresses and waiters who check on tables and we never had to ask for refills or never had to flag down someone. Our food came out in a timely manner. The one thing I will say about service is the appetizers we ordered came out right before our ramen so we had all of our food at one time which was a lot. I wish they would've spaced out the food timing a little more. Ambiance: JINYA has a modern interior and open concept. They have tables, booths, and 2 big community tables in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant playlist is hip and modern. The inside of the restaurant is dimly lit so if you have bad eyesight, get ready to use your flashlight to read the menu. Food: we ordered two ramens and the gyoza and edamame. Gyoza: these were fried well and had a gyoza sauce that came on the table. The wrapper was thin and they were not too oily. We would order this again. Edamame: this was typical edamame. Nothing too special. Would not get this again when we come back. Creamy Classic Tori-Paitian: this is a chicken ramen with wavy noodles that came with fried enoki mushrooms, chicken chasu, butter, spinach and a corn rib. This ramen was rich in flavor and had so many fun, delicious toppings. The corn run was grilled nicely and I wish I had more of them in my bowl. I'm a sucker for enoki mushrooms and this did not disappoint. I took the enoki mushrooms out of the ramen immediately so they didn't get soggy fast and that was the move if you want the mushrooms to stay crunchy. The chicken broth was rich and light which was a great combo. I finished this bowl to the last drop. JINYA Chicken Ramen: my girlfriend got the chicken ramen with a side of bamboo. Warning on the bamboo: the bamboo comes dressed in sesame oil and sole hot oil so they are a little spicy. The chicken ramen broth was once again rich with flavor and light. The chicken chase was good and this ramen comes with thin noodles instead of wavy noodles. Overall JINYA hits the spot when craving ramen or some hot soup on a cold day. The chicken broth is legit and I will be closing back to try the pork broth soon. My only qualm with JINYA is the price at over $17 per bowl of ramen. There are cheaper ramen places but JINYA flavor makes up for the priciness.

However, since crawfish season is one of my favorite times of the year, I had to come back to try their limited edition ramen. Just like my first visit, the staff were extremely friendly, the food came out incredibly quickly, and the overall experience felt comforting and welcoming. I ordered the seasonal bowl, The Crawmen, which came with crawfish tonkotsu broth, andouille sausage, bayou butter, corn, and peppers. While the bowl was clearly inspired by a crawfish boil, I felt like it could have leaned even further into those flavors with more crawfish and a stronger boil seasoning overall. The ramen was definitely delicious, but the broth did not quite have enough crawfish boil flavor to fully separate it from their standard tonkotsu ramen. At times, it mostly tasted like the original broth with andouille sausage added in. Even so, it was still an enjoyable bowl of ramen, though I would probably stick to one of their regular menu options over this seasonal special. My mom and I also shared the Karaage, which arrived very quickly while still being piping hot, crispy, and juicy inside. On the other hand, I would personally skip the Sakura Sweet Tea and Strawberry Yuzu Lemonade in the future since they mostly tasted like their regular counterparts without adding anything particularly unique. Overall, I still really enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and reliable quality of this place, especially the ramen and karaage. While the seasonal bowl did not fully live up to its concept for me, the experience itself was still enjoyable enough that I would gladly return again.

I was excited to stop in and try it on a Monday around 1pm. The inside of the restaurant is really nicely done. It has a bar area and tables. I was sat at a table. The ordering system is through a QR code. It was fine and I paid with Apple Pay. You can also type in your credit card. I chose the tonkatsu ramen with the lunch special add on of pork and rice for 3.90. The ramen was a 7/10 for me. The egg, the pork and the broth lacked flavor. The flavor on the pork in the rice dish was better, but the rice was overcooked and mushy. I gave up on my bowl about halfway through and left unsatisfied. I don't think I'll be back.

We ordered the curry fries to share and I got the tonkotsu spicy and my friends got the truffle shoyu and the miso gachi. The curry fries were super tasty. The broth was creamy and the noodles were well cooked. The charsu meat was also very tender. I just wish there was more of it. (7/10) The truffle shoyu had a cleaner taste and the truffle flavor was present, but mild. I thought the miso gachi broth was a bit too salty for my liking. Overall, the service was great and so was the food. Glad to have found a new ramen spot near the med center.

They deserve 4.5 stars because come on it's 24/7 ramen. Parking is cool but limited. First impression walking in was that it has this really unique and dope vibe. I love the set up and it was giving spacious. There were cassette tapes aligned on the wall in the booth we sat in, which I thought was very creative. There was Anime characters above the doors when you first walk in, with Anime playing on the TVs at the bar. Oh yeah, THERES A FULL BAR if you ready to get your drink on. Now, off rip the host was annoying. She was kinda rushy and caught an attitude when we asked for a booth. We can't even describe the vibe she gave off fr. It was just BLEH. Our table was clean which is very important to us and our waitress Yasmin was kind and patient with our questions, and dietary substitutions. We ordered the Super Saiyan Nachos as an appetizer for $16. Maaann, these were so delicious!!!!! We actually substituted the pork for shiitake mushrooms and when I tell y'all we were surprised at the portion We both looked at each other like "YAAASSSSSS" Next came our Ramen orders which didn't take long at all. Not that we were counting because we were INDULGED in those nachos LOL Babii rated her Oxtail Ramen a '7/10' for $25. She would've preferred to get shiitake mushrooms because she particularly didn't like the fact that the Oxtails were shredded and not on the bone (which is what we both expected when reading it). She also would've liked if they gave her a spice option since she likes spicy ramen. Unfortunately, we had to purchase a nasty 'Kappa' sauce which was not worth the $1.50. To her the portion size was A1, however we paid for the meat so it wasn't worth the $25. Now, the Vegetable Garden to me was a '8.5/10' it was good, had amazing portion size and they were not lacking in the texture department. I mean, the spinach noodles were delish, vegetable cooked very Al dente. I cannot complain on that part. To me it was missing a bit of flavor, maybe salt would've done the trick. Overall though, it did have the flavor of the mushrooms which wasn't bad. Most importantly though, I felt light after consuming my meal. Therefore, I have to give it all a high rating. GO TRY THIS PLACE OUT, ITS WORTH THE TRY
