This place sucks , we placed an order online first of all it wasn't ready on time , when we went there this dude who works at the counter with really rude attitude tells us to wait 25 more mins so now it's like an hour wait and then there's no social distancing at all and it was too much crowded but anyways the most important thing ZERO customer service , we went there with really happy Mood but this guy who works there just ruined our night with his rude behavior , I'm not going there anymore , they need to take action because this is not the first time that he treated us like that and again ZERO customer service !!!! read more

This was my first time having "rolled" ice cream. A group of us walked in 10 minutes before closing time so I was a bit worried they might give us the evil eye- but nope! Not one stare. The line got even longer after us so perhaps they are use to staying until the line clears? The staff was nice and we were able to order quickly! Now on to the good stuff...I ordered the Gotcha Matcha with pick your own toppings (I picked Nutella and strawberries!). The fun part was watching them make it! It was a lot faster than I expected. Tasted like your typical ice cream, nothing special really. I guess you are paying for the show. I've been there once before and it was nice. The ice cream was yummy and you had unlimited toppings. However, the next time we decided to go after dinner but apparently they don't accept any more customers about 20-30 mins before closing. We went in, stood in line for a couple minutes, only for them to tell us that the other customers were the last ones for the night. By the time, we got back to our cars it was just 9:45. And as we left, the line had already dwindled down to a few. If they are gonna cut off selling ice cream at a certain time, that should dictate their closing time. I just didn't appreciate wasting my time and showing up during what was listed as 'open'. read more

They have lactose free which is great. Seems popular. I thought they are a little on the pricey side given quality and quantity but I guess you pay for the show that you get as well. Found it a little weird that you have to pay and tip up front before you get the ice cream. read more

OMG this was so good I can see why there is line out the door especially I have nut allergies and they reserved a frozen table top just for people with allergies ;) I had a rocky road without nuts and it does taste different from American ice cream;) better than Cold Stone which I can't go to anymore because of my allergies. We wanted to try rolled icecream l, ordered strawberry and all fudged up. They tasted really bad. It felt like frozen condensed milk only. Worst icecream ever. Just the blobs of milk icecream nothing felt like rolls. Every roll got clumped together. I am not going to visit this place. This was the second time that I tried eating rolled ice cream and I have got to say that this is probably my favorite of the two. The ice cream was a bit on the pricey side, but I liked how the toppings were unlimited and there was no extra charge for them! There were maybe 2 times that I had attempted to come here and try it out, but the lines were insane so I said screw that no thanks. Well one day I was picking up food next door and there was no line so I decided this would be the perfect time to try it. I got the Nutella and chill, added strawberries, brownie bits, and more Nutella on top... it was bomb.com!!! So much deliciousness!!! I heard of similar products in NYC but haven't had it until recently when we were in the area. Rolled ice cream...why? The hype surrounding it, I just don't get it. It's a gimmick, fine - and maybe I'm just overthinking it. But all the extra steps/effort is all centered around something that doesn't even really do anything for the product in the first place - the rolling. It does make it look presentable and neat so I suppose it's done solely for aesthetic reasons as opposed to usual, round scoops. The latter would have resulted in more ice cream so I personally would have preferred scoops over the rolls. However as a customer, the extra time spent waiting as a result of the time required by the team solely for the purpose of making it look nicer, is not worth it. The ice cream is made to order resulting in wait longer than I ever care to endure again. We didn't wait "hours" as mentioned by others in previous reviews (ok that is crazy) but realistically, it was about 45 minutes from getting in line to walking out the door with our cold treat in hand. The flavors were pretty predictable and were all "bae-sic" (as their vanilla one is called) as far as I'm concerned but I decided on one of them and went with it. Smooth, creamy but overpriced for what it really is. Ok so I went in and didn't know what to expect. I liked that they had many different choices. I was excited to see a Rocky Road type flavor. I got that and my daughter got Oreo Cookie. When I saw the price, I was kind of skeptical and told the guy this better be the best ice cream I have ever tasted. When they started working on my ice cream I was just in amazement. It was a great presentation. And it was so nice to just see it all come together. All just with a cup of cream and some other additions. It was cool to see them roll it up. So, I finally tried Icicles. My fam and I came here when we were in the mood for some ice cream. My little one and I were sharing so we got the Strawberry Crème one because she loves strawberry ice cream. My husband got overwhelmed with all the different options so he did the same thing as us. Lame. He should have tried the Cereal Killer or the Oreo one, so we could try different flavors. But those will have to be for another day. So, you know the drill. They make it in front of you - it's a cool, little process. My little one loved seeing them make it. Blah blah blah. Now, I am not an ice cream person. I have to really, really be in the mood for it, hence the reason why it has taken us so long to try this place. But this ice cream was pretty damn good. Got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch with condensed milk and mochi. It was really good! -2 stars though for their glove use.. as is in the workers don't change their gloves. My friends and I noticed they wore the same gloves throughout our entire time there. They'd make ice cream. Add customers' toppings WITH THEIR HANDS. Hand customers their ice cream. Then proceed to change the music on their iPhones and touch everything here and there. Their hair, their clothes, the counter, etc.. in between ice cream making. Talk about marketing and gimmicks. Icicles had lines out the door and people waiting hours. I went on Sunday to what looked like just a few people in line. Wrong. They take your order, you pay, and then that's when the huge wait comes in. They have standard options of cream mixed with some Ingredients like strawberry, cookies, peanut butter, etc. they also have toppings but don't you dare say that when you order. So you pay a hefty $7 and wait. When your name is finally called you go to the front and watch cream and your ingredient mixed in- coldstone style. Now they spread it out and then roll. Then you wait some more and someone else asks you for toppings. Then you eat your mediocre frozen cream that's overpriced. Save yourself some time and money and just get froyo or ice cream instead. read more

Rolling ice cream is a pretty big trend now, and Icicles is for sure living it up! The different flavors are all delicious (I recommend fruit pebbles) and really satisfy a sweet tooth like me! I also love being able to customize my toppings. Though it's a little pricy for ice cream (average price you would see for rolled ice cream though), it's definitely worth a try! The night I went to Icicles some old RnB music was playing from the store's speakers, and I started singing to the music. (Who wouldn't if Neyo and Usher is playing?!) Another Icicles shop in the old Fantasia spot in this Newark shopping plaza. I have been to the one in San Jose and I would have to say that one is way better! At the SJ location, they have most of the toppings out for you, a do it yourself kind of thing so it's more convenient for both the customers and the staff especially when it gets busy. At this spot, you've to ask the staff to put mostly all your toppings on after they finish making your rolled up ice cream. I feel like this location is more ghetto, maybe because everyone goes to this one now that there's one closer to this side. read more

I would have given a 4 to 5 stars, but my second time experience was HORRIBLE!! the first time was great. I've been to this place twice since it has open, first time was great even though I waiting in line for 45 mins in the cold! Second time not so great. The girl that took my order was nice, everything was fine up until the part where the guy was making my rolls. The guy that was doing my ice cream rolls seem to not care for his job, The ice block he was using had about every single flavors of ice cream on there that he had done before mines; I had to REPEATEDLY asked him to CLEAN his ice block, before he attempted to pour my cream and avocado on. I swear I could see almost every flavor on the ice block, there were some orange stuff which looked like mai thai and big chuck of strawberry residue left, After repeatedly asking him to clean the ice block, he proceeded to clear a little off it off, but all the other flavor was still on there. SINCE he DID NOT clean it well. I looked around at all the other block and it was clean, shaking my head, I said to my aunt, "geez, just my luck, ugh"!!! I really wish I had spoken up and asked someone else to make it... If this was my first time there, HE WOULD HAVE RUIN MY ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. So my advice for anyone who's reading this, if you see an ice block not clean, STAY AWAY OR ASK FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT, unless you're okay with tasting 3 to 4 different flavor of Ice Cream on top of yours. read more

The condensed milk isn't as strong as cream so the ice cream is not as rich, and which is why I think it holds together so much longer (also 9:30 at night). I feel like this joint was overhyped because of how popular the South Bay location is. Rolled ice cream is the kind of novelty that I might indulge in once, and only come back if friends or family were dying to try it. For $7 you get to wait: - 5-10 minutes to order (but can't choose toppings) - 25-30 minutes (on a Wednesday evening, so expect a much longer weekend wait) while 3 young workers get intense forearm workouts behind a glass wall as they individually prepare each customer's order. Liquid ice cream gets hand-pulverized and then rolled up and stuffed into a paper cup. - 2-5 minutes for your rolled ice cream to be passed back to the cashier area where an awkward crowd of people jostle around waiting for a different worker to call your name and ask what toppings you want Maybe because of the limited space and almost nonexistent seating, it made for a pretty awkward experience. Hubby and I ended up toting our two kiddos back to the car because several clusters of high school aged kids occupied the 2-3 tiny tables they had, and we couldn't sit to enjoy the ice cream while it was fresh. All in all, can't say this is a family friendly atmosphere because of the wait and the limited seating. The ice cream (we ordered Strawberry Fantasy) was a dull (but expensive) version of Coldstone's Cheesecake Fantasy. Next time, we'll stick with Nirvanaah, Coldstone, or Gelato Classico. read more

Nothing beats the one from cambodia and thailand. I wish they used fresh fruit or have more fruit flavored option like mango or passionfruit. It's $7.50 for unlimited toppings, but you an only put so much. It's relatively simple, two oreo and cream, mash them and roll them and put stuff on top. The service was terrible. I came here with my family for a post-birthday dinner dessert. We were all in the mood for ice cream and my parents hadn't seen rolled ice cream made so I thought it would be fun to take them here, and all the reviews for this place looked great. Unfortunately, we were met by two employees who took their time, even though there were only 2 other customers there and one of them had already been served. Half the time, both the employees disappeared into the back and no one was at the register. The music was intolerable- it was so loud that I had to keep repeating my order. On top of that, there isn't any decent seating for anyone who uses a walker/wheelchair, and because of that, my family just decided to eat our desserts in the car instead. I have no complaints about the ice cream- it tasted fresh, and the portion size was generous, but at $8.75 a cup, I'd rather get froyo. The only reason this review is 3 stars instead of 2. read more

We stopped at icicles on our way back from a hike. I got Ube and unfortunately found a sliver of hair in the ice cream (it was so gross). The strawberry toppings was not fresh at all and the toasted coconut was slate. Not a good experience, will never come here again read more
