My daughter was cleaning her room and found a gift certificate for one dozen cupcakes. We went to use it today and were told that it was leftover from the previous owners. The case was full of cupcakes and we were the only customers in the store. It didn't make sense why they wouldn't honor the gift certificate and gain a customer. Instead they'll probably end up throwing out a dozen cupcakes because none were being sold. I normally visit Jake's in Palladio for our cupcakes but wanted to try Icing on the Cupcake. Literally the BEST cupcakes I've ever had. I've frequented the downtown location for years before all the locations closed. I was so happy to hear that the Rocklin location opened back up and now the Folsom (way closer to me) and downtown ones too! I rave about it to anyone who listen and always buy extra just in case I need to offer this little piece of heaven for proof. :) My favorites include: -Butterscotch Blondie bar -Confetti Cake -Snowball -Peanut Butter & Jelly -Coffe N Cream (seasonal) -Cherry Almond (seasonal) -Pistachio (seasonal) I did place an order from the Rocklin location for my company holiday party and delivery had missed a portion of the order (6 cupcakes). However, this was quickly resolved, was given 2 choices: a special delivery trip to deliver the 6 or a dozen the next time I came into the Folsom store. Well, the future dozen it is! Friendly staff. Yummy! I am so picky when it comes to sweets and bakeries and this place as completely exceeded my expectations. The cupcakes are so moist and fresh. The flavor on the icing is perfect. It is complete smooth melt in your mouth tasty. They have perfect sweetness. My son who doesn't like icing on any cakes or cupcakes ended up eating his whole cupcake. He raved on how delicious it was. You should be proud of what you sell. Quality!! Keep it up. read more

To be fair, the cupcakes are very good, however the service in the Folsom store is terrible. Tried ordering specialty cupcakes and the young lady behind the calendar did not know how to fill out the request. She tried calling her manager to no avail. Had me wait 20 minutes before suggesting I come back or drive to the Rockland store for assistance. To many good bakeries in Folsom. Will not return. read more

Came here a few days ago and got a couple of cupcakes to try. I was very excited cuz I LOVE cupcakes!!! Sadly they didn't taste fresh and were dry and crumbly. They kinda tasted like maybe they had been sitting out for a couple of days. I might give them another try in the future, and hopefully this was just a fluke, but if you are going to only make and serve cupcakes then they should definitely be fresh! Okay, I have looked and looked for a cupcake recipe that would come close to these wonderful bites of cake. These cupcakes sure don't come from a box! The only word I can use is "substantial." I can tell you what they aren't, and that's fluffy and lightweight. These are CAKE!!! The lemon with lemon filling is my favorite. I can make a cupcake and squirt lemon curd inside, but I cannot get a cupcake as hefty and moist and perfect as these baked goodies are. I am not very impressed with their consistency. Sometimes you get a fresh and pretty tasty cupcake, other times you get a dry and seemingly old cupcake that is not good. Maybe they are serving day old cupcakes sometimes? Had these cupcakes yesterday at a baby shower and I could not believe how good they were. I had to ask the hostess where they came from and steal one extra to take home. It was a simple vanilla cupcake with frosting but literally the best I've ever had. Saved a little to give to my husband and he agreed. We will definitely be coming by to try more flavors soon. I am so happy they reopened in Folsom. These are the best cupcakes I have ever had. The frosting is not too sweet and the cake is moist. It always tastes fresh and they have a great variety with some flavor a changing daily and some seasonally. The hard part is trying not to drive over there so often. Love this place. :-) read more

We had to bring something for a potluck at work so my coworker chose cupcakes. I'm not a huge fan of sweets to begin with but these were pretty good. The Butterfinger and Peanut butter and Jelly were probably my favorite. Cupcakes are so sweet that I normally cut them in half just to be able to try more than one. With that said I only tried three flavors because I'm just not super into sugar. The red velvet was the other one I tried and it was good as well but I just liked the first two better. I will definitely come back when I'm in the mood for something sweet. read more

Went in looking for some vegan options. Although they said they only have one different flavor a day I was willing to try anything! They happened to have "Chocolate turtle" with some type of filling in the middle. Let me tell you, it was the BEST vegan cupcake I have ever eaten! Even better than a normal cupcake! I wish I could leave less than one star. This location does not have a phone, when you call the number listed for Folsom, the call goes to the Rocklin location (however they do not tell you that when you call). I called looking for carrot cake cupcakes for a coworkers bday tomorrow, I let the girl know I was off work in about an hour and would head over (I called about 4:40, hours are until 7:00) she said they are closing at 5:00 today, so I told her I work close and would be right over before they close. I left work in a hurry to make sure to get my coworker his special request, only to walk in at 4:51 (they are very close to my office) and find the cupcake case next to empty. I let the employee know that I had just called and was told they had plenty of carrot cake on hand. She then informed me that they do not have a phone and all calls go straight to their Rocklin location. I asked if all locations were closing at 5:00 today and she said yes due to their Holiday Party, so now I will not even be able to drive to the location that has the cupcakes I need as all locations are closing early. When I said I was heading right over, it would have been nice for the girl to make sure I was aware that I had reached the Rocklin location, although the number was listed for the Folsom location. This is about my 4th dealing with Icing on the Cupcake, I have never been incredibly impressed, and now I will for sure not be returning. read more

Like a few other reviews, I thought the taste was there, but they seemed like day-old cupcakes. Crumbly and a little stale on top. I also had the pleasure of hearing the cashier tell me that her mother had just completed her taxes and her personal information such as income level and how much she owed. This place has mastered the art of the "Sprinkles" style cupcake frosting. The red velvet cupcake is spot on, and there are free samples there if you're not convinced. I am a regular customer at the Folsom location not only because the cup cakes are the best most delitious things ever but because they also have great customer service I'm always greeted when I walk in with a smile and convorsation not awkward silence.
