2.5 stars for Sesame rice ball with ginger soup. The sesame ball is very sweet and has a lot of sugar. I don't get much aroma of black sesame. The ginger soup also too sweet for my liking and I wished they put more ginger in the soup. It is too weak.

Our friend wanted some tau foo fah after dinner so we headed over to Icy Bar. It's been a few years since my last visit here. They have two other locations (Richmond and Kensington-Cedar). We dropped in on a Sunday evening (around 9:00pm). The place was reasonably busy and they were playing Home Alone 3 up on the TV. Service is non-existent and water is self serve at the counter. The menu is massive with shaved ice, fresh tofu pudding, pancakes, hot sweet soup, crepe cake, plant pudding, honey & thick toast and drinks. Essentially, all about the Asian desserts. - Fresh tofu pudding with two items (E1) ($6.00) - M got this with mochi and pearls and asked for ginger sauce. I had a bite; it's plain and ginger is very, very subtle. - Fresh plain tofu ($5.00) - Iv got his plain. - Milk tea with grass jelly ($4.75) - this was weak for a milk tea. We asked for 50% ice and 50% sugar but the flavour was bland and watered down. Grass jelly and pearls were decent. - Green tea crepe cake ($8.00) - basically an Asian style mille-feuille. Green tea flavour was good (again subtle) but paired well with the red bean. Overall, decent but prices have increased and quality doesn't seem to be the same as before.

I had the wheat milk tea to go. It was not the best I had. It seemed to be missing something. I saw copious amount of powdered milk being poured into the container, and that was probably typically of many bubble milk tea places, but somehow that was a bit disconcerting to me. I guessed it never really crossed my mind there was no real milk in it. I saw other people ordered mostly the shaved ice desserts.

I've been to this Icy Bar location many times pre-COVID but now I'm finally review. My friend and I went in to get a nice snack to share since it was hot out and they had dine in open. At first we weren't sure if they had dine in because some chairs were stacked on the table but they were open. They had their paper menu taped up on the walls and now you have to go up the counter to pay and order. My friend and I got the Four Mixed Icy to share and we chose Coconut Jelly, Green Tea Mochi, Pearls, Fresh Mango and we added an additional topping for $1.50 which was Lychee. It came out very quickly, about 10 minutes after we ordered and instead of their usual ceramic bowl they put it in they put our order in a paper takeout bowl and a tray and the condense milk now comes into a small container instead of a bottle for you to squeeze, we had to ask for seconds. The shaved ice was so good and refreshing, it paired so well with the coconut jelly, the juice from the jelly made it extra sweet. The pearls were really good here as well, not too hard or chewy just right. The Green Tea mochi was AMAZING, probably the best mochi I've had with shaved ice, so chewy and the matcha flavour isnt too strong which I enjoyed. The mangos were ripe and sweet and the lychee was nice too. Overall, it was really good - however, I'm bumping it down a star because it was hard to eat in the paper bowl and we had to ask for side bowls to eat out of.

We came here after dinner (group of 5) and did not have to wait for seats. The most difficult thing was choosing what I want. The have a variety of desserts and drinks to choose from and customizable as well! As I preferred something hot instead of cold that day, I was happy to see a list of hot soup sweet desserts. I ended up choosing something on a different page - hot tofu, which came with 4 different toppings: red bean, peanuts, 2 different types of mochi. Wow! When it came, it was a very generous portion for one. It was tasty and on point. I wouldn't have done anything different. I definitely want to come back here for shaved ice as they are huge and comes with a bottle of condensed milk so you can control how much you want! They also have so many toppings, some I have never heard of from typical bubble tea shops. As compared to other shaved ice and Chinese desserts places in the area, I thought Icy Bar had really reasonable prices. I recommend the house special tofu (hot or cold) or customize your own shaved ice with your favourite toppings!

A shaved ice dessert establishment that is always quite busy and bustling with young people. I would recommend coming with 2 to 4 people to share items. Wifi is provided. [Items Tried] Mango Crepe Cake - $8 (3/5) Taste: The provide one type of crepe cake every day - different types on different days. Not too many layers so it was not that fluffy. There were also large chunks of mango in the cake - I prefer when the layers are thinner as it prevents the cake from falling apart so easily. However, some people may prefer the larger chunks of fresh fruit. Not overly sweet. Size: Good for one person. Mango with Coconut Milk - $8 (4/5) Taste: A cold refreshing dessert with creepy eye seeds, as I like to call them (ie. basil seeds). Hard to mess this dessert up, the fruit is relatively fresh and the proportions of liquid to solids in the dessert are just right. Size: Good for one person. [Value for Money] A very standard dessert place that lacks a wow factor - standard quality at standard prices. However, if you are craving asian dessert and want more variety, this is the place to go as they offer everything from drinks, cakes, shaved ice, and tofu desserts. Overall, if you've never been to icy bar I'd recommend going just to see what iconic asian desserts are all about - but you can find individual items for better quality at other places.

I think this place is a bit over rated. Had the Durian Milkshake and it was good. But when you get to the end its too much. This is the only place I have seen it where they have the Durian Milkshake. Also ordered the Mango sticky rice and at first I didn't want to order this. I wanted the mochii balls look alike and because we don't know whats it call we thought the words beside the picture is exactly what's it called. :-( Hint: Next time ask what it is before ordering. Really need to redo its menu. I think their fruit ice must be popular here. Seems like everyone is ordering it.

Was craving something sweet without venturing too far away from home, so we decided to check out Icy Bar. I had looked at their menu online beforehand, but was happy to see that their actual menu is a lot more extensive. We ordered the pick 8 shaved ice, Mango Pancakes, mango pomelo tofu dessert, and the almond jelly grass jelly milk. Pretty generous portion sizes. Taste is pretty average; I wasn't overly impressed, but it'll do when the sweet tooth has a craving. Best tasting purchase was probably the mango pancake, which actually contained a pretty generous amount of mango. Our total bill was over $30 including tip, which was pretty good, seeing as how I left Icy bar so uncomfortably full that I felt like I was going to vomit. The service was less than stellar; we were kindly given two flimsy napkins for our purchase, and it wasn't until we were almost done that someone offered my husband a glass of water. I liked how they give you a bottle of condensed milk that you can add as much to your shaved ice as you like.

This place is usually pretty packed and constantly smells like durian. They give a generous amount of toppings but sometimes these toppings aren't that tasty... for instance, the strawberries or watermelon slices. The service is mediocre; the staff seem tired and don't wanna be there, but then again this place does open till pretty late.

There were 6 of us visiting Icy Bar around 10:45 PM. We had to wait probably around 20 minutes before they could put together a couple tables for us. I didn't expect the shop to be this busy, especially this late at night. I ordered a hot tapioca taro with coconut milk ($5.75), while my friends ordered some toasts and cup icy(s). To be very honest, I didn't like my dessert at all. I thought it was poorly made. It was way too watey and watered down that I couldn't taste any of the coconut milk. I didn't know what I was eating. There were very few pieces of taro. There were some sort of white residue on the surface of the dessert and around the bowl, which kind of turned me off. I would probably stick to their shaved ice. As a result I didn't think it was worth six bucks, I would rather pay a little more for a dessert that is of better quality. I didn't expect much service, especially at a Chinese dessert place. They just take your order and serve the dessert when ready. Nothing more than that. There is a water station on the counter.

Decent place for dessert. This time it didn't smell like durian walking in. The guy kindly asked another couple to move so the three of us could sit at their table without having to wait. I actually didn't want anything cold to eat/drink, so glad I saw their hot grass jelly dessert on the menu. Thought they gave me the wrong dessert because I didn't see any grass jelly in it, but silly me, it's hot, so it's in a melted consistency, haha. It was a good hearty, warm dessert; check out the photo with all the good stuff in it (beans, ?mochi). My friends enjoyed their grass jelly milk drink, and mango tapioca dessert. Would come back for their other desserts, couldn't resist eyeing all of them as they went by our table. Free street parking if you can find a spot.

A group of us came here after dinner for dessert. The wait for a table was about 5-10 minutes but the wait for the dessert took nearly AN HOUR. We ordered a large shaved ice with 8 toppings and mango cup drink. The shaved ice dessert itself was pretty good. Portions were huge! Definitely satisfied my sweet tooth! Other than having to wait for an hour for our dessert to come out, everything else was fine!

Like seriously, just take my money. So much yummy! I'm not sure how you give a dessert place anything less than 3 stars in general though- if they got dessert and it's sweet and delicious it kind of makes it's own good review. 4 stars for a standard dessert that is actually not common enough in Vancouver. Get the 4 flavour icy with a mix of mochi, poppers and fresh fruit. Top with ice cream. And it's like you have a dinner substitute. Good for 2 people. Or 4 people if you want just a taste. the menus says min purchase of like 3.50 per person. That's how you should judge the size/portion of this thing- you should spend 3.50-5$ per person for a filling dessert for everyone.

This is where my dessert will be eventually.

This is one of my favorite meeting spots in the area. I don't usually go for desserts, but I enjoy icy bar as their desserts aren't overly sweet. Their shaved ice is a solid menu item, with many topping to choose from. If shaved ice isn't your thing, they also have a number of other tasty desserts! read more

We stopped by on a Saturday night to try their durian pancake, but sadly they ran out. So we ordered the mango pancake, which I highly recommend. I think it's mango season, because it was filled with sweet mangoes and a light whipped cream that was perfect! We also shared a huge shaved ice with tons of toppings. They give you a bottle of condense milk to add however much you want. I've had better shaved ice, but do try the pancakes. read more

DO NOT GET THE FLAVORED ICE - eughhhhhhh! Its so gross! For $6, you can get flavored ice (lychee, strawberry, green tea, mango, etc..) plus $1 per extra topping. So we tried the green tea ice with black glutenous rice. The ice didn't taste like green tea at all. It tasted like something faint, not green tea, but not a great flavor either. But it was the texture which bothered me... it was slimy, especially after about 10 minutes when it starts to soften up more. What additive(s) are you adding to the shaved ice that makes it slimy..?! We left it all behind and just shared a regular 4-item ice. Starting to feel like the shaved ice is just a bit meh to me,maybe I'm just not a shaved ice person. The chendol came out looking like green tadpoles, and while the flavor is OK on its own, you don't taste anything when you eat it with ice (regardless of the condensed milk). And as much as we kept dousing the ice with milk, the first few bites are great, but everything seems to melt and seep through to the bottom. So unless you have a bottle in one hand, covering your spoon of ice, squirting everything on top is a bit pointless. Is this how shaved ice is supposed to be?? Anyway, I'm still gonna come by here to try their other non-icy desserts, so I'm not gonna change my rating just yet.. read more

VERY COLD! Brrrr....had this during winter and it was cold. The portion was very large...actually there were a lot of shaved ice. I would have given them 4 stars if there were a bit less of shaved ice and MORE toppings instead. read more

This s*it hit different when you out with your squad, late at night looking for a snacky snack. Always get the 8 mix with your group of friends and drizzle that sweet condensed milk a lot ALOT. But if you feeling something different from the 8 mix, get the mango shaved. Do not get pineapple as one of your items because that shit is canned and I don't f*ck with canned pineapples. Icy bar.. I can devour this s*it all four seasons. Especially when it's during the cold weather.. I'm still down for some shaved ice. read more

I was here one night with a friend because I was craving for something sweet and I knew it has been around for along time but I have yet to try it out. When I walked in this place it was a weekend and I guess prime time. So, the place was almost fully packed. There was only 2 tables of 2 left. The atmosphere here was pretty meh like it needed some work on the tables and chairs as most were just plastic. The washroom was also pretty small but kinda expected. This place took card as a payment which was pretty good considering most of these places usually take cash. I have to say there wasn't much service but the dessert was pretty good. I ordered myself a 3 mixed icy cup with a scoop of fresh durian meat.Gotta say it was pretty good and actually some good durian meat. They were also pretty quick with services from seating us to grabbing us the bill. Though I have to say that the price of their dessert can be pretty price. Like I paid $11.00 for the icy cup I got. It was because it was $4.00 for the scoop of fresh durian meat. I think I would come back here to try the other things on the menu. I suggest you all to try it out whether it's at this location or another. But don't expect much for service. read more

Terrible service tonight by the derp duo. Brother & sister combo just clean tables and take orders to go. Forget about the people that sat down already, don't bother to look up or anything just waddle back into the kitchen with your heads held down. That's a good way to get people to come back yeah? Dessert here on the other-hand is great. Interesting textures for the creative n clever designed pudding that look like pots of dirt called Potters Pudding. Layers of flavor. Great! They did UP the prices for the 4/8 flavor iced plate. As expected the grand opening special prices are over. Don't expect much from the wait staff you're better off standing in front of the counter so they are forced to serve you I'd come back if they train those kids properly how to wait on customers. read more

Price is just fair. The shaved ice are obviously just ice and canned ingredients. However the condensed milk that is provided with the shaved ice is quite nice since most places don't give you the bottle of condensed milk. read more

horrible service and horrible food the servers were not attentive at all and they seemed as if they were annoyed with us being there. The food was horrible as well I ordered a hot soup but it tasted as if they placed rock sugar in a bowl and poured hot water over it so the sugar would melt and become sugar water. The ingredients inside was all soft and mushy , my friends ordered a strawberry sago and mango sago. The strawberry sago was WAY TOO sweet and you couldn't taste anything but sugar, the mango sago on the other hand was bland and didn't have much taste to it. My friend said that there was a hard object inside his popping boba, we asked the servers about it and they one of them seemed very annoyed with us and i could hear him say "its just the inside if the popping boba" in a very rude and annoyed way, we also ordered some other desserts and it was so sugary that we couldn't eat it anymore. I am very disappointed and i am never coming back again. read more

As someone who grew up eating shaved ice, and done lots of travelling around SouthEast Asia, this is pretty close to what it tastes like in that part of the world. We showed up at 8pm on a Thursday night and it was about 1/2 full but it quickly filled up. The tables are pretty close together, but still have plenty of room to maneuver around.The menu has "hot soup dessert" and shaved ice, but today we only had a large shaved ice with 8 toppings. The bowl that came had plenty of toppings compared to the amount of ice at the bottom of the bowl. We ordered: Cendol, grass jelly, red bean, coconut jelly, tapoica, lychee, mango and mango poppers. It came with a side of condensed milk in a squeeze bottle so you can manage the sweetness of your dessert. Overall, I would recommend it for anyone who's looking for a cooling dessert on a super hot day! read more

Absolutely ridiculous. Change your hours on everything! Your Facebook page, google and website all say that you close at 12am. I shouldn't need to drive over and arrive 20 mins before 12am to see that you closed early! Unbelievable. Never again. read more

Icy Bar is a very small dessert bar on the edge of the Boundary-Kingsway corridor on the Vancouver side. This small joint is packed almost every night, and more so on the weekend or hot day. Parking is fair, as the side streets and Kingsway offer free street parking. If your going alone or with a small party under 4, dont expect to wait very long, maybe 10-20mins on a busy night, any larger group would require atleast a hefty wait as they need to push together nearby vacant tables to accommodate you. First off, this place has a wide variety of desserts, all the usual traditional Chinese fare such as filled dumplings in soup, tofu pudding, mango pudding, coconut & tapioca, etc. But what they really excel in is the Taiwanese shaved ice with toppings. There are many different courses and combinations, with over 20 toppings to choose from, you cant really go wrong in creating your dream shaved ice dessert. Your shaved ice will come in a fairly large bowl with a bottle of condensed milk to add sweetness. Depending on what toppings you got, caution on the flavour, as the ice might be too bland, you might end up adding too much condensed milk to sweeten it. Second is their pancakes which come in bright yellow and green crepe skins. I believe they come in 3 flavours or 2...but I know for sure they have Mango and Durian. The pancakes are presented in a pouch like fashion with whipping creme and fruit within. The mango is quite good and the fruit is plentiful, but the Durian, as good as it is, is rather lacking in quality. This review for the durian pancakes comes after a comparison of another dessert house in Richmond who does a different take on durian pancakes at the same price, but better. The reason is that, Icy Bar doesn't actually give you much fruit, the durian fruit is mashed up almost to its individual strands which doesn't provide much texture nor quality for the price. I come to icy bar enough too realize that they are consistent, cheap, and a good place to have fun with friends. high marks all around but falls short on quality of the more "elaborate" desserts. Smallish place that gets really busy at night around 6pm till closing. But if you go too early (around Saturday at noon, for example) they may be out of various items (like their supposedly famous mango pancake) from being wiped out during the late night service the day before. Mixed Icy - You get about 1 cup of each topping you ask for. For 50 cents, you can apparently double the portion of one topping. - Your huge plate is basically a lot of ice, which is boring unless you squeeze a lot of condensed milk on it. You can have as much condensed milk as you can squeeze out of the squirt bottle (with three nozzles!). - Price is not bad for the amount of non-ice you get. But as desserts go... it's cold jellies and fruit. - Great for sharing. This is key. Potted Plant - Layers of cream and whatever filling you asked or (e.g., durian). - One smallish cup filled to the brim and topped with some brown dust (chocolate, I hope). Supposed to have a little mint plant on top (hence "potted plant") but I got strawberry instead. - Cute-ish presentation but overpriced for what you get. - Could be colder! If your friend has ordered an icy, steal some of their shaved ice and use their condensed milk squirt bottle. There is utterly nothing special here about the Mixed Icy. But as far as places to hang out go, this is great: - Dessert portion compared to a restaurant is huge. So four people can easily while away time picking at it, as compared to maybe a single slice of cake downtown that would disappear quickly, plus you would want a drink to go with it (here, your "iced water" is right in the dessert!). - Great non-alcoholic alternative that is also cheaper than everyone getting their own bubble tea. Food is boring. But as a CHEAP hangout place for 4-6 persons, it's great. Don't bother coming here alone. read more

I have been hearing a lot of things lately about this ice shaved frozen treat trend, therefore, when someone reviewed it on the front page of Yelp on March 27th it didn't take me long to get here, especially since I live relatively close by. I came here for a private yelp event (private as some of my yelp and meet up friends came here just an a whim). Lots of dessert choices, especially with fresh mango so naturally what did I get....mango! This place is a 45 minute walk from my house, therefore, walked it both ways to burn off the calories. Customer service was okay. Prices were were here, however, could be marginally better. Very small inside. I was disappointed 'cause the whole purpose of coming here was to get their famous pancakes which they were out of. You get a large mountain, 4 cups worth of just plain shaved ice to fixings. The rations don't match. It looks big, however, really you're eating a plate of shaved ice that you have to put sweet condensed milk on. Simon S. ended up stealing some of my shaved ice for his potted plant dessert, therefore, the frozen water didn't go to waste. The lychee jelly and almond jelly were flavorless. read more

Desserts are pretty good here. I like that I get to choose different flavours and toppings for my shaved ice. Everybody likes to create their own with only the things they like. Mango pancake is pretty ok too. read more

We had originally googled the closest shaved ice place we could go on our way home from Vancouver and as a result found this place! We decided to try something new along with our shaved ice. It was a Nutella pancake with whipped cream inside! I think my husband liked it more than the shaved ice. The inside of the pancake had strawberry cream and Nutella, it was really really yummy. We ordered the mango and strawberry shaved ice and we added green tea ice cream along side our vanilla ice cream. I highly recommend! read more

1) its interesting that isnt consistent throughout all icy bar. It's is more $ compared to Kingsway & Knight. Ordered the mango mochi ice cream shaved ice. My friend found a big screw at bottom of plate. Waitress gave us another one but when our bill came they only gave 10% off. Horrible. If I've gone to other similiar establishment the dessert would of been on the house. read more

I honestly would probably spend all my money here. Icy bar has become my absolute favourite dessert place in the recent past year! I am obsessed with their giant portion of mango mochi shaved ice with an unlimited amount of condensed milk. I also try to order a bubble tea every now and then but I often find they run out of pearls really quickly! It's quite a small place so the wait time can sometimes be a little bit long but I really wouldn't mind as I love this place! This is literally dessert heaven. read more

I've been to this Icy Bar a few times. You really can't mess up shaved ice. Nothing out of the ordinary here, we ordered the shaved ice with 4 toppings: mango, tapioca, almond jelly, and mochi. The condensed milk definitely made the dessert better. We shared this between the 2 of us and was very satisfied afterwards. read more

I am writing as they were one of the only places opened past 10pm on Xmas!!! They got an extra star there. First of All if you do not like Durian you will not like the aroma of this place, once you walk in you will smell it... They have durian pancakes, durian peices and durian sticky rice. But anyways aside from Durian they have a huge menu which includes bubble tea, shaved ice, pancakes, tofu dessert : Pretty much anything Asian. Its a cute small place on Kingsway ( Parking out front or on side street). Service was decent altho it was busy ( All the Asian Orphans that dont celebrate Xmas). I got the 3 Toppiny Icy ( which comes in a cup not a bowl like the 4,8 or 12 topping) It was good and not too sweet. There are alot of topping you can choose from . I got the mango mochi, pearls and mango. It was great and very delicious. My girlfriend who had never tried durian before ordered a durian peice which I was surprised they had , if you are interested its $4. First time here and I love it! Prices are reasonable, food is good, service is great. The place offers comfortable and laidback atmosphere. The waitress spoke perfect English and Mandarin. The cafe accepts credit cards as well as cash. It offers all the conveniences of a Western restaurant but with Asian prices - love it! We got a 4 topping ice bowl and a taro tapioca dessert soup with coconut milk, to share. Both desserts were so good! I also appreciated the fact that they put the condensed milk on the side so we could drizzle however much we want into our ice bowl. Icy Bar isn't the best place for consistency, which is something I value a lot when it comes to restaurants. It's nice to know that you'll always get the same value every time you come. I've been here quite a few times now as it is a favourite of my coworkers, and sometimes it's great and sometimes it really isn't. I do love the mango pancake and the thick toast (condensed milk is bomb). I had the earl grey milk tea last time and that was really gross there was a lot of oil??? floating on top of my drink like #what.. Another thing I don't really like about Icy Bar is that they differ so much across locations as well. Some are definitely better than others. read more

Definitely a yummy go-to place for shaved ice! We got there at 10pm and there was a party of 6 ahead of us. We ordered a mango mochi shaved ice with mango puree, mangoes, mochi, and ice cream. It ended up being too much for us, but really good! The only downside to this spot is their cleanliness... Asian dessert cafe on Kingsway with a great selection to choose from. However, I think I made the mistake of only ordering one item which I wasn't impressed with. I ordered the Durian Pancake - which smelled great but it was way more whipped cream than actual Durian itself. Saw the shaved ice which looked delightfully promising - will give that a try next time instead. read more

My first time experience here wasn't that great. Came at night around 9~10ish, had to wait quite a while for a table for 3 as the place was absolutely PACKED, and when we were finally seated it took quite a while for us to get the food. We couldn't even really talk as the group of Chinese kids beside us were being very loud and obnoxious. Not that the loud music playing helps either (although it's a good selection). The whole place was just loud loud loud... Tip #1: portions are not just huge but GIGANTIC, so be careful! You'll most likely have to share your order with your friends if you're a small eater. Tip #2: if you don't really like sweet stuff, stay away from the red bean and green tea ice cream thing. The red bean gets so sweet near the end that you'll regret the order. read more

First timer to icy bar. Not my cup of tea. I don't understand the hype around flavoured ice with fruit toppings. It must just be me. On with the review! I ordered flavoured green tea ice and added green tea ice cream, Mango and strawberries. It was delicious and quite filling. I could not imagine finishing one whole dish. They're pretty big dishes. Friend ordered the Mango flavoured with all the Mango toppings you could have! Pretty good. Stopped in to try their mango dessert while visiting Vancouver. I don't remember the name of it, but it was shave ice on the bottom and mango chunks and Mochi balls on top with condensed milk. It's big enough to share between 2-4 people. It was quite large. I wished it has less shaved ice. Overall, it was good. read more

There are 2 locations for Icy Bar - this one is definitely the winner. The mangos are ALWAYS so sweet in this location (the other location's mangos were sour) and they're always super generous with the toppings. Super affordable and always fixes my sweet tooth cravings, am a huge fan!!! read more

The first thing that struck me with the durian smell when I walked in. The shaved ice are OK. Nothing special. I can probably make it at home with a cheap ice shaving machine and buy the toppings from a Chinese market. Service was slow even though the place wasn't full. read more

The colourful orange and green bench seatings were originally from their shop on Main and 33rd so I love seeing them as it's reminded me of their good old days when you see motorcycles mixed with Mercedes cars in their parking lot.

We were charged $25, not the $20 we were originally told when the 64-oz pitcher showed up, with the explanation that the regular price was $35 and that we had "saved" money. In the end, we were served twice the beer we wanted and paid twice what we intended, based on information that kept changing. Whether this was incompetence or intentional, it left me feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. The food and atmosphere really were great -- but the experience was overshadowed by feeling manipulated. Enjoy the food and beer, but pay close attention to what the wait staff tells you and what ends up on the bill.

I stopped by The Lobster Man while exploring Granville Island Public Market…read more It's a small spot with no real place to eat inside, so plan on grabbing your food and finding a seat somewhere around the market. Service was standard, nothing memorable one way or the other. I ordered the warm lobster roll and a prawn cocktail. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was a letdown. It wasn't very warm, the lobster itself didn't have much flavor, tasted off and the whole sandwich was just kind of dry. Thank goodness I also ordered the prawn cocktail because it saved the meal. It wasn't anything fancy, but the prawns were a good size and gave me something I actually halfway enjoyed. Overall, I didn't have the experience I was looking forward to.
