This is one of my son's favorite morning breakfast spots since we usually stop here to grab him a ham & cheese croissant with a milk before school. Everytime we arrive, we are greeted by the workers who are familiar with my kids and are always super friendly when taking our order. There actually used to be two workers here who knew my boy's orders but have since moved on from the company. The place is small but always nice and clean. It's usually quiet with a few people working on laptops and sometimes you'll find a dog or two enjoying a snack with his owner. The shop has coffees, teas, hot chocolate, lattes, cold brew, macchiatos and lemonade with a variety of pastries such as banana bread, carrot cake, almond, butter, chocolate and ham croissants. I don't usually get a pastry but I order a blossom peach tea mixed with lemonade. Overall, it's a cool little coffee shop that could benefit from having other pastries besides 4 different croissants. I'm not a coffee drinker but it looks like they have the good stuff so I recommend this shop for the ham & cheese croissant and the peach blossom Arnold Palmer. OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros
Really good coffee! Located right on Ventura Blvd so parking can be tricky depending on time of day. I got their iced latte with lavender syrup - apparently they use real lavender for it. They charge a bit extra for non-dairy milk. It was ready quite quickly and tasted delicious! I really enjoyed. Pretty spacious inside with some seating inside and outside in their patio.
On the way to work, I knew I needed a pick-me-up from matcha. I saw this spot and went to place an order thru Yelp/GrubHub, and the order pickup time scared me at first as it rose up from the initial time. When I came by, there was only one other person in line and the barista went to finishing up my order. She was very friendly despite the morning rush and her working alone. The matcha was okay and wasn't off-putting. I had oat milk with my matcha, although I feel the ratio of matcha to milk was quite low because part of the drink started to feel 'watered-down'. I finished the drink and was able to feel satisfaction from the matcha however! Parking was hard to find in front, so I had to quickly park at the loading area around the corner.
The door was open so the wafting aroma drew me in - I was sold - my Americano BLACK like my men (jk) amazeballs!! Mari was so friendly and perky! Must be all that percolating - must come!!
|[ i d e a l ]| Can't believe I haven't reviewed yet! Def one of my fav coffee shops because their chagacinno is perfect. It's sweetened using monk fruit and not sugar but tastes amazing (and no after taste) I purely come for this and seating is a hit and miss because of how limited they are at this location but for a grab and go this is one of my local favs! |[ m e t m y m a t c h a ]| I usually get the original but the matcha version of the chaggacino is also bomb! Iced or hot it just depends on my mood but it gives me the perfect amount of caffeine to cram. I see various coffee shops offering the chaggacino using the same powder but tbh no one makes it like ideology. |[ n o t e s ]| Staff are always kind, they have treats and water for dogs :,) and overall great vibes here. Parking is only 15min in the lot otherwise it's street which can get tricky. But the quality of my drink is what keeps me here. Keep up the amazing work and quality!
First time here and it was a positive experience ! Fast n friendly service - my drink and food item tasted fresh ! Very very dog friendly establishment with treats & a water bowl by the door - Bravo !
Cool space and iced coffee on a hot day. Efficient use of bar/counter seating, and a few patio tables on Ventura Boulevard. They make drinks quickly. The vanilla latte is pretty good...not the most delicate flavor and quite sweet, but not unbearably sweet.
I joined my colleague for an afternoon treat, and Ideology Coffee totally hit the spot. Conveniently located on Ventura Blvd, the staff was super kind and able to explain many of their options. I went with one of their specials, the blue jasmine matcha, and it was delicious. I usually go for coffee, but I wanted to try something new. I also got the chocolate croissant, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The combination together was perfect. I really appreciated that they offer both indoor seating and a beautiful patio, perfect for the current fall weather. Street-metered parking is available.
Second time here. From what I remember from the first time, the coffee was overpriced and it was just okay. Now with coffee being normally about $7.50, it didn't seem overpriced this time around since it has gone up since last time I came. I got an iced cinnamon and clove latte with oat milk. They do carry soy milk which is my first choice but they had ran out but it's good to know they still carry it. The coffee was good but I could've used more flavor of the cinnamon. They have an outside seating area which is so nice and next to other restaurants but there is plenty of eating inside even though it's a little small. Parking is a bit of a hassle since it's on Ventura so there's street meter parking and in the back residential area but it's usually packed.
My wife is now working at the Rite Aid in Glendale. Searching for the best coffee and matcha shop in Glendale, I came across Ideology cafe. It's located on Central Ave. There plenty of metered parking on Central and California. The inside is modern and casual with a serene atmosphere. I ordered an ice latte with oat milk for my wife and a hot matcha latte with almond milk. My matcha latte was smooth without a bitter aftertaste. One of the best matcha latte I've had. My wife's ice latte was very good. This is our "go to" place for coffee and matcha. DJ's rating: 4.82/5.00 Would I come back? Definitely Yes

100% good coffee. I got a simple iced hazelnut oat latte. Otherwise great hipster vibe coffee shop. Simple and clean. They do have fun wall art, not a whole lot of seating. But you can also sit outside. Parking sucks, the Ventura part is congested too BUT once you find parking you can go to different stores and even have lunch. Didn't have a pastry cos nothing Bundt cakes are next door. Haha everyone is nice. Simple cute neighbor coffee shop. No line and not crazy when I went in. Plenty of pastries left also and it was 11 ish on a Saturday! I'm just a coffee fanatic, and their coffee was delicious! read more

I hung at Ideology Coffee for a bit today and enjoyed it greatly! Staff was friendly when we walked in and drinks were ready pretty quickly. My friend and I are pretty basic with our coffees - a black cold brew and an americano. Both were tasty! We also tried the Almond croissant which was solid! Their gluten free donut is pretty cool. It's chocolate frosted and really seems more like a pound cake. I wouldn't call it a donut but I liked it a lot! Loved their outdoor sidewalk seating, super chill and relaxing. Wouldn't mind coming to Ideology again! read more
I'm always up for trying new coffee shops and I'm so glad I stopped into Ideology Coffee today! The menu is simple, the coffee shop is cute and minimalistic which is perfect for working while sipping on your coffee or tea. The workers were so sweet and made the drink perfectly. I got an iced vanilla latte and I loved it. I will definitely be back to get another latte in the future! read more
A great coffee addition to Sherman Oaks Main Street. I've been going to this spot since it opened and you're always going to get a great quality drink. It's an aesthetically clean, simple, and modern shop. Lots of wood, tiling, and even a classic "coffee" neon sign. There are some great murals on the walls, my fave being one of an exhausted person dunking their head in a giant cup of coffee. There are a bunch of stools inside and tables outside if you want to sit and enjoy your drink and/or get some work done. The staff is really nice and they get your drinks done FAST. I know a lot of craft coffee shops can take forever, but these baristas know how to crank out an amazing coffee quick. I usually opt for the matcha latte or the matcha chagaccino, both with oat milk and both delicious. When I had family visiting in town earlier, they insisted they come back almost every day to have Ideology's cappuccinos. TIPS: street parking is available, but if you park in the lot behind the shop, make sure you get your parking ticket validated when you order. Also sign up for their rewards if you see yourself coming back often enough - I just got a free drink today! read more

Yes. Ideology's coffee packs a flavorful punch. They serve Verve, which is a high end local roast, and thankfully carry bags of Verve coffee beans that are now the only type of coffee I will make myself at home. Highlights of the menu include Chagaccinos (one of my faves and hard to find), Espresso Tonic (also rare), and... my favorite.. the simple Americano. Given the high performance espresso machines they have and they quality coffee beans, I think Ideology's Americano is my favorite. Smooth, strong, refreshing, sweet. *chef's kiss* Baristas are really kind, there is street parking, metered parking, and garage parking nearby. Cute outdoor patio area for relaxing, and it's a nice area to walk around in on Ventura or in the neighborhood behind. read more
Date: June 22, 2023 I'm always on the look for new tea/coffee joints around my area that I can walk to and saw that ideology coffee was super close by! Walked in and there were two others hanging out. They have seats outside and a couple seats inside. I love that they have their syrups & creamers and such outside for you to help yourself. I don't drink coffee but I love matcha lattes and I saw there photos had a blue jasmine matcha latte that sounded amazing! Sadly it was only a special of the time so I went with the regular matcha latte. (5.50$). I added vanilla to make it sweeter (+0.50$). It came out quick and tasted delicious! I'm also a sucker for stores that have their own logo/design on their cups! So props to you guys for that! Service wise, it was very minimal. The waiter didn't say much except 'that'll be 6$' and then called my name when it was ready to pick up. read more
So grateful that another good coffee place opened in this "3rd wave coffee desert" portion of Ventura Blvd. So many good coffee places in existence in LA... and not enough of them here in the Valley. It's not like this particular demographic is anti-caffeine. If I can walk to 4 different Starbucks from where I am, they could open another good one, right?! Lots of seating space because the La Reina Plaza already have a giant patio with lots of chairs and tables. The inside is also worker friendly. The coffee is pretty darned good too! The RAF coffee here at Ideology is coffee perfection. I get mine with oat milk and it tastes just as good if not better than the half and half they typically use. I don't like a sweet coffee, and this has just the right amount of very light sweetness for an early morning. I've had lots of other delicious coffees and teas here as well, but in my opinion, nothing beats the RAF. read more

Hurray! A new coffee shop in the valley! This place is stunning on the inside. So shiny and new. It seems like they are still getting things set up, as they only just opened a month ago. There were two people behind the counter, but it seemed that only one person was making drinks and taking orders so I did have to wait at the register until the previous order was finished. They had a nice looking selection of pastries and a delicious looking seasonal menu. I came in later in the afternoon just to check it out so I ordered a hibiscus iced tea. While I did enjoy the hibiscus flavor, I wanted more of it! I felt that it was a little too watered down for my taste. I definitely want to come back and try one of their specialty coffee drinks. read more

I heard about ideology coffee while passing by the Glendale location and found out that this Ventura/Sherman Oaks location is closer and new as well! I came here on a Tuesday afternoon with a friend. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of this location. It was very simple and minimalistic. I Especially loved the out door seating. This would be a great spot for studying and or working. There is plenty of seating and tables available, as well as power outlets. Brownie points for the dog water bowl and treats :)!!!! I paid about six dollars for a latte with vanilla flavoring added. I found my latte very interesting because it had a nuttier flavor which I never experienced with vanilla flavoring. I didn't really mind it but I prefer other vanilla flavorings elsewhere. I also appreciated the fact that they offer different types of milk choices for everyone's lactose journey. There is a little bar area where you can add sugars of your choice or syrup. You can also find napkins as well as drink stoppers and wood mixers available, plus water cups! I was pretty bummed that this location did not serve food, apparently they only serve baked goods. The Glendale location sells food though, so I will definitely check that out one day. Overall I will definitely return and try another drink choice. read more
Morning coffee shops that aren't chain franchises is the 1st thing I look for when traveling. I saw that this place was close by and near our Hotel in Sherman Oaks. It was really good coffee in a comfortable setting off of the main strip of Ventura Blvd. The coffee and pastries looked enticing. I had ordered an Americano and a Vanilla Caramel latte. Both coffees were really good and people who made it were friendly. We will be back if we are in the Sherman Oaks area again. read more

Extremely happy that this coffee shop popped up on this side of town! We needed another one (besides Starbucks)! Okay. I've been here 3 days in a row now because I love it so much! I order an iced cappuccino with oat milk and it is AMAZING. They serve verve here and they sure do know how to brew it! The past 3 times I've been, my drink has been SUPER consistent which is hard to find these days. It was perfectly strong with just the right amount of milk to make it creamy and delicious! I'm so excited that this place popped up in my area and will be going back frequently! The inside is SO aesthetically pleasing making it a wonderful place to sit down drink some coffee and get work done. There's lots of seating inside and on the patio. It's super bright inside and the employees are always super friendly. They do have a few pastry options like croissants, muffins, loaf slices, etc. I absolutely love coming here! (If I haven't said it enough lol). Definitely a must try place if you're looking for a new coffee joint to try out! 10/10! read more

I couldn't decide so I got the cappuccino hot and an iced chaggachino. The cappuccino is delicious and I'm pretty picky when it comes to my coffee. The chaggachino was also great but on the sweeter side. I don't add any sugar to my coffee whether it's black or a cappuccino so even the slightest sweetness tends to be strong for me. But overall, the flavor is great. Service was great. Friendly staff that was also quick. They only had two options left on the dessert menu and so I got the almond croissant. I personally didn't like it but again, because it was just too sweet for me. Would have loved to see some healthier snack options. Overall, great location, great coffee, outdoor seating, and ample parking. I will say though this parking lot isn't cheap so if you plan to stay awhile (hours) be prepared to pay around $6. Been coming to this plaza for years now to get my hair done. read more

I had to find a place for my 400pm iced coffee break and this coffee house was nearby. We ordered two different coffees one hot and mine cold, they were both really good and flavored just right. The service is fast without a long wait to get our two drinks. The coffee house is located along a nice sidewalk outdoor cafe dining area. read more

Good location and great service. This place now roasts its own coffee but it's packaged coffee is Verve. The coffee flavor is very muted and blends into the milk. With little chocolate flavor as well, the mocha tastes more like a regular latte with very lightly flavored espresso. It's good and I like the patio area, but I would ask for more chocolate if ordering a mocha. read more

LOVE this spot. Pretty sure they took over a Starbucks, which is very exciting. They have incredible coffee/espresso. The cappuccino is the big winner thus far. Easy street parking, VERY kind staff. Outdoor & indoor tables....really lovely ambiance. read more

- Locale Destination - It's on Ventura Blvd and Cedros Ave in Sherman oaks. It's in a part of shopping center? I'm not familiar with this area. Ambiance: modern, minimal, cute. Menu: coffee, lemonade. Very simple. Service: quick Parking: lots of street parking - Gluttony Expedition - Cappuccino: very creamy at the beginning, but the coffee flavor took over right away. Still light in coffee flavor lacking in richness and cream. Light coffee overall. Cortado: a bit bitter but good overall. Blue jasmine matcha: nice fragrance of matcha with a touch of mild matcha. Not so sweet. I didn't think of combinations of jasmine tea and matcha green tea. Not bad! - Conqueror's Deduction - If you like a light, coffee-taste forward (less milk flavor) coffee, you'll like this. I prefer a bolder and creamier coffee, so this was good but ok for me. They have all kinds of flavored lattes like lavender. Maybe I should try those! read more

we found street parking right at the front luckily!! and then headed inside where it was nice and clean. we knew we wanted to try the blue jasmine matcha, it was not super sweet which was good and had a floral taste to it but not overwhelming. the only downside was that it was only almond milk which i dont particularly like (i prefer oat), but still good ( 8/10). i got the ham & cheese croissant, it was yummy too (8/10)!! i would definitely come back again for the matcha. read more

Cute coffee shop on Ventura. There's a nice little patio outside you can sit at and high stools inside. I had the Chagaccino which had powdered mushroom in it; hadn't had that before, but would recommend. There was a water bowl and container with dog treats for the pups! read more
