Fun, energetic atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. We went there during leaf peeping season on a rainy day and it was crowded. We played corn-hole while waiting for our table to pass the time on the back patio. I imagine the patio is amazing on a sunny day, it's large with a great view of the bike path. Took a while but we were seated at a corner booth which had a great view of the front of the restaurant. Again, it was raining to everyone in town was inside so the food took a while but we were pleased once it did arrive. Beef stew was delicious, burger was nicely prepared as was the truffle mac and cheese. All in all a good experience, we'd recommend to others but would caution about the wait time. read more

I stopped by here this past Memorial Day with my wife for some afternoon drinks. We arrived in the late afternoon and found Idletyme pretty dead. As such we sauntered up to the bar and took a seat. The bar was done nicely in a number of different woods. Unfortunately I never made it into the main portion of the restaurant and so I didn't see more. On this day I decided to go with a sampler of beers which I often do at breweries that I have never been to before. The sampler here consisted of 6 4 oz samples that were served on a little ski which I found to be clever. All of the beers here were pretty good but my favorite of the bunch was the pale ale. It had a strong citrus and hop presence that finished crisp and without the usual lingering hop flavors. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I enjoyed all of the beers that I tried here and would be interesting in trying some of their food also. read more

So we planned a trip here for a day. We picked the idletyme for the ravioli, both of them, they were great, however , once our waitress took our order she never came back to check on us until 30 minutes later . We both wanted another drink, it took her 30 minutes to check on us. This is why I didn't give you guys 5 stars. I work in a restaurant business and I know good customer service. I know we are all short staffed but customer service is important to get repeat customers. We will be back because the food was amazing but we will definitely ask for another server! read more

Stopped here for a happy hour flight of beers. Place is has nice rustic gastropub feel inside. We were seated and attended to immediately by the bartender. The flights were very good and reasonably priced! They had a diverse selection of different style beers. We particularly enjoyed the hefeweizen, pink'n pale (very unique), maerzen, and dunkel lager. The freshly popped complimentary popcorn was a great bonus. We would definitely recommend Idletyme for their beers. One of the best Ruben sandwiches I've ever had. Not only was it very sizable, but it also had good quality ingredients and very nice flavor. I like spicy food and the unique addition of hot red peppers (not sure what variety) was a nice touch. We went here for lunch and dinner over the course of the long weekend. There was a bar area with restaurant seating to the right and then a regular restaurant seating section on the left. We sat in the bar area both times in order to watch the football games. For the beer, the flights are preset but you can swap out the set beers with other ones. There are 6 beers to a flight and they are good sizes. If you like IPAs, their double IPA is absolutely delicious. The oatmeal stout also isn't too bad, and I usually don't like stouts. They also make desserts cocktails. The spiked hot cocoa was great after a day of skiing. The food was great. Both the cheese plate and the charcuterie plate were delicious and came with a side of their homemade spicy mustard and bread and butter pickles. The sriracha wings tasted like sriracha without the spice which was weird, but they were good wings nonetheless. The Cubano is also massive and they don't skimp on the meat. The real standout food we had there was the Vermont Cheddar Fritters. If you like cheese, you have to try these. The cheddar slowly melts out as you cut them in half and are slightly messy to eat, but are absolutely phenomenal. I would go back for those alone. They fill up very quickly for dinner time, we were there at 7 and the place was packed. I would recommend calling ahead or getting there early! read more

We called and made reservations for inside seating. When we arrived we were immediately seated outside, which was fine, but not what we requested. It was a very windy, but nice day. Our server brought over two waters and then we placed our order for beer and food. We had the Vermont cheddar fritters $12 (really good, but not as hot temperature wise as they probably should have been), fish and chips $17 (good, but overly greasy and it seemed like frozen battered fish, but the menu does state it's made with their beer.. So who knows) and butternut squash ravioli $20 (good, but way too much thick sauce). We each had a beer that took forever to get (they were out of quite a few draft beers). Our beer sat on the bar for a good 10 minutes before we got it. At that point we had already finished our appetizer. We would have relaxed and had another beer, but service was so slow that we left and went to check out Von Trapp brewing up the road. Total spent with tip was $83. My girlfriend and I had an uncomfortable experience here. The beer was fine, but on top of slow service in general, it appeared we specifically were being ignored by servers. When we got our table outside, no server even looked our direction for 50 minutes, until we called one over. It appeared to us we were ignored due to the fact we are a gay couple. Every other couple was served, even many after we were seated, except us, the only gay couple in the establishment. I would hate for it to have been homophobia, but it appeared that way. When we mentioned to the waiter that we had been there 50 minutes without being served, he seemed to be lying that he "didn't notice us" but he had passed by us dozens of times. I thoroughly enjoyed this micro brewery! The interior of the restaurant is decorated impeccably and in my opinion should be featured in a business interior decorating magazine. Since it was a beautiful night my boyfriend and I decided to dine at the outside bar. It is a nice sized square shaped bar that has such a cozy summer night feel. Our bartender, Ben, was very nice and we loved chatting with him. He also gave us some samples of beer that we probably would have never wanted to try on our own (i.e. a Double IPA). The beer here is fantastic and the flavor profiles of the beer are completely unexpected in a great way. The food is also flavorful. I ordered the Onion Gruyere Tart which I absolutely loved!! Even the side salad was light and was dressed perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the Lemon & Herb Chicken and this dish was packed with flavor and the chicken was so moist. We usually stray away from chicken dishes but we were both very impressed. The only slight disappointment of the night was the pretzel bites. There really wasn't anything that made them special or stand out. One of the things that did stand out was that they were trying to close for the night and allowed people to still sit at the bar and drink. A few people tried to order food even though the kitchen was closed and Ben the bartender and the closing manager really tried to do everything to see if they could order food; they went and asked kitchen staff and even tried to accommodate them with rolls. We've eaten here many times and the service inside and on the patio has always been very good - however, the outdoor bar service has been sub par on the couple of occasions we've eaten at the bar. I understand bar tenders are busy but they were also just not very friendly and service was slow. If you visit my recommendation is make reservations and eat inside or on the outdoor patio. read more

I will NEVER come here again. My friend and I came here because everything else was packed. After not being too excited with the menu I decided on the chicken piccata...horrible decision. I should have just had french fries and called it a day. There was no lemon sauce to be found and from my experience the chicken is usually in the sauce.
