This place is my go to breakfast spot for years. this restaurant in particular is located in foster city. I've noticed how well manage the facility is, as it is kept neat, clean and highly organized. It does gets busy but it doesn't take long to get seated. The staff are friendly and accommodating. of course, as always, they have varieties of options to choose from on their menu and every single time I've tried something it always comes fresh and made just the way I like it. every requests I have specifically on my food options due to my diet restrictions have always been fulfilled without hesitations or concerns. Fairly easy to get to and the staff was very accommodating. Now keep in mind this is an IHOP so it is not a place that serves high and brunch or breakfast, but they get the basics done fairly decently. There was a substantial order from us from Sunnyside up eggs, to the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and greens, to the stack of pancakes, a fruit, medley, cold, iced coffee, brew, and another assortment of basic breakfast delights. Our waitress, (Briana), was so sweet, polite and professional. She handled our large group with ease and made sure we were always taken care of. We never had to search for her or even wait to put I. Any request with her. She was truly the best part of this experience. I hope she gets recognized for her amazing professionalism. The food was the definition of basic or as the kids say (mid) Lol. I do want to be clear and say that that is no disrespect to the hard-working chefs here. But it's a chainRestaurant. I know I am not going to get the best ingredients and flavors from an IHOP. I went to I-Hop that day to try to eat. I checked the maps to see if they accepted pets, and it says they are welcome pets. When I arrived, they didn't let me in because they aren't allowed inside. I showed the person the map description, and they simply said, "We don't have control, but we don't accept pets," and we had to leave. Haven't been to an IHOP in AGES. But have no bad memories of them. So decided to drop by today. Place was open. Clean. Staff were pleasant. I was acknowledged immediately and seated as soon as the server was free. The table , menu, condiments and seats were clean and not sticky at all. Most places open to the public that have syrup available will have random icky yucky yuck yucks about. But I didn't feel one arm hair get plucked my whole time there. My server was polite and presentable and articulate and several other staff members checked on me too and were all professional And presentable. My coffee was hot , yummy, and bottomless. My waffle was perfect and tasty. My bacon was flavorful and crispy. My eggs were properly poached and not gross or watery. My hash browns were yummy , well cooked and seasoned. My country fried steak was crispy and actually super flavorful. The gravy was a bit watery and didn't have any yummy sausage crumbles. Which I dunno if it even is suppose to have sausage. BUT IT SHOULD!! Anyways. I had a delightful meal surrounded by pleasant people in a clean place and I ate like a porky pie piggy and my bill was under $40 but I got $100 service. We were seated immediately, but then we sat there for probably 7-8 minutes before the waiter came to take our drink order. Again we waited for ages, the waiter came close to our table, then turned around and went back to the kitchen! Finally, after several more minutes, another server brought us our drinks. We placed our order, waited and waited, until I finally complained because everyone else, who arrived after we did, were already eating! Sure IHOP has served the community for years but why do more people keep coming back? The location in Foster City is hands down the best I've ever been to and I've visited several. While the General Mgr Mr. Resendiz seems to guide his team effortlessly & is extremely personable with the public...his team members walk around with smiles. Leslie N. has served me more than once and she's consistently impeccable with her customer service. Fact is the entire team looks like they enjoy working there and I've never had an "avg meal". I have to tip well. I know some customers might leave a couple bucks on the table. Don't be avg with tips when your service is impeccable! Let's face it, the general public can push on nerves when they have a "Bad Day" and this team takes your "Bad Day" & turns it into a very positive experience! Can you imagine if IHOP ran an airline and called it "Int'l House of Passengers" and this team served us? Wow!! Let it be known this team could easily be recruited to an upscale restaurant because they "All" are that good! We had a good run, and then went to for a breakfast :) we were hungry for sure, but the food we got could have served my whole family :) lots of food.. be sure what you order and if you can share one item/dish.. half of what we ordered we wasted :( Bulls eye, and egg pancake was awesome.. my kid loved the banana berry pancake too, but he couldnt finish 25% of the pancake :) coffee was average, but they let us refill coffee... customer service was good, but it was crowded and took us sometime to get a table.. once we ordered we had to wait another 15 mins to get our food.. and it is expensive than a regular breakfast place :) costed about 30-40$ for 2 of us.. overall it was a good expensive breakfast :) read more

I met a friend for breakfast here just as San Mateo County went into the "Yellow Tier." I called in advance and was told that indoor dining was available with safety protocols still in place. Since both my friend and I got vaccinated we decided to give it a try. As soon as we entered we were immediately greeted by a masked server. There was a large hand sanitizer at the entrance. Right away I noticed that the tables available for seating were spaced out between closed tables to keep with social distancing. I also noticed everything seemed very clean from the tables to the floor. The Men's restroom was also very clean. Our orders were taken quickly and subsequently brought out quickly. I had the Belgian Waffle Combo and my friend had the Breakfast Sampler (55+). Food was good and we had no complaints. Our server was efficient in constantly checking to see if we wanted any coffee refills. When he left our bill he told us there was no rush and to take our time. All & all we felt safe and comfortable. Good positive dining experience for us as we felt like we're slowly going back to normalcy! There were two other tables already eating and I was seated immediately. Less than a minute later, I placed my order and waited. I'm not sure when I was served because I was starving and ate right away. What I can tell you is that I finished my burger and first round of fries by 7:40. My next round came out five minutes later, and my third round 5 minutes after that. I would have kept going, but I had to be somewhere nearby at 8:00. The burger was delicious. I'm not sure if it was because I was hungry or if it was just that good. It was a simple burger, but man did it hit the spot. Juicy, hot, fresh. The fries were pretty good, as well. They were hot and crispy. They tasted like perfect fries you could make at home. For $6.99 for a burger and unlimited fries, I thought it wasn't a bad deal at all. The burger was a decent size.
