Hear ye, hear ye! Gather 'round, good folk of Grandville! On the fair day of Saturn's reign, I did escort my daughter and her suitor to the esteemed establishment of IHOP, located at 4767 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Earlier in the week, my daughter did endure the trials of oral surgery, and the mushy sustenance at home had grown tiresome. To celebrate her healing thus far, she did order the Strawberry and Banana Pancakes, but lo! Without the bananas! I, your humble narrator, did partake in the Breakfast Sampler Combo, whilst her beau did choose the Chicken Strips. What arrived for my daughter was a stack of five pancakes, drenched in strawberry sauce and adorned with strawberries that were clearly frozen, though thawed. The chicken strips and fries were deemed good, yet not worthy of a return pilgrimage. The ranch dressing, alas, was proclaimed the worst ever tasted by her suitor. My breakfast was satisfactory; the meats were passable, the eggs were typical scrambled eggs, as one would expect from IHOP. The pancakes, however, were a delight! Having abstained from sugar for eighteen moons, the real-sugar syrup was a revelation, and I do believe the pancakes themselves were quite good. The waitress was kind and attentive, yet the apple juice, my daughter did report, tasted diluted. We did not bring this to the waitress's attention. We arrived at 11:15am for breakfast and they were booked so we were out on a 20 minute wait list. They took our number and sent us a text message when our table was ready. You could see there were tables but not enough people to bus them so they sat empty and dirty while new customers waited. When it was our turn we were seated promptly. Our table was wobbly so there was a napkins stuffed under the table leg to sturdy it. Menus and silverware were already on the table so we started to decide on what to order. The waitress came and took our drink order promptly. When we returned she has got tea without a saucer to drop the teabag on so we had to use a napkin, and she also forgot my mother's orange juice and fruit cup. Then instead of taking our order we were ghosted for a good 10 minutes while the waitress attended to other tables. My husband ordered the quick two egg breakfast "scrambled" with "bacon" but she wasn't listening to the order and reasked what meat "bacon" how do you want your eggs "scrambled". Yes you could say she was jus double checking his order but you could tell they were either short staffed or she was rushed or maybe a bad day at the restaurant I don't really know. I really enjoyed that they offered the Chicken crepe Florentine. Many Ihops I have been to discontinued this dish so imI was happy. I paired it with a chocolate chip pancake made with chocolate batter and a chocolate milkshake with a water. Yummmmm. The food was really yummy and out waitress was kind. She kept apologizing for the wait. I did use the restroom when I was there. The floor was sticky ( whoever cleans this must have used too much product and not enough water to dilute), the hand soap dispenser did not work but they did have hand soap pump hand soap available. Overall the food was great and came out hot. Won't be going back for a dine in experience anytime soon. read more

The service was good we waiting for a while when A LOT of tables were opened and no one was in line. The food was way overcooked and when they took it back to be replaced it continued to still be overcooked. We were there for almost 2 hours, The tables still weren't cleaned from when we got there. Eh IHOP hasn't been the best the last few years. Ordered an online order. Food was ready when I got there but tasted bland.

They were very crowded. It took us a long time to get a table, we're just two persons. By the time we went in they started to have empty booths. We ordered drinks and that only took about 15 mins to get them. We ordered classic combos, eggs with pancakes and crepe. That took another 20 mins or so. Waiter was clearly stressed out, we wasn't rude but barely speaking at the right volume, there was a lot of noise and he seemed angry and tired. They probably need more staff waiting tables and in the kitchen. You won't get smiles or kind service, they try to do their jobs but they don't enjoy it. We put our reservation through the yelp app and were 2nd in line. When we got to IHOP they seated multiple groups in front of us because the hostess was going off names she wrote down on a piece of paper and when I mentioned the yelp app she said she hadn't even looked at that yet. A different hostess started using the yelp app but by that time we had already waited an hour instead of the 20 minutes it was supposed to be from when we put our reservation in and she said it would probably be another 45 minutes. When we got frustrated she had an attitude and acted like we were being impatient and walked away... Terrible service, terrible attitudes, incompetent workers, unorganized, and rude. I would not recommend anyone waste their time here unless you want lackluster service and horrible hospitality. Whoever the general manager is needs to work on retraining their staff. read more

They put a syrup I specifically didn't ask for on my waffle and when I respectfully sent it back the waiter gave me attitude. He brought me a plain waffle without the cookie crumbles on it and hair on the side. I told the waiter about the hair and he took it back looking annoyed and brought me back the exact same plate just with the hair brushed off. Don't make the mistake we made by choosing Grandville IHOP!! We placed an order for takeout, they said it would be ready at 12:15 and we waited for this order until 12:40! After driving 15 minutes back home we realized that the main part of our order was not included, they forgot our $18 omelette! They did nothing to make it right and were extremely arrogant and disrespectful, even hanging up on us, after they made the mistake! Me and my boyfriend went here for brunch today. We spent a total of 2.5 hours inside the restaurant. We waited around 30 minutes for a table which was totally fine, we then were brought waters once being seated and drink orders were taken. We were still undecided on food and once we were ready waited about 10 minutes after calling the waiter over. Again, this was fine. After ordering we waited a while for the food and when it came out the pancakes were basically cardboard, they felt and tasted stale. The hot chocolate and eggs were probably the best part. Along with the food being luke warm, we also received the wrong items. We got the cinnamon dippers and they did not come with cinnamon or dip as listed in the menu. Not a fan With my daughter. I tried to order off the kids menu (I get it I'm not a kid) but I have my kid w/me. We order an adult meal for her. So the server explained they're really strict. Ok I get it So I ask can she order mine and I order hers. They explained I can order off the 55+ meal. I said never mind I just won't eat at all My problem is is was ok to lie to say I'm older, but not as off the kids menu. She wasn't getting it the 55+ and SIDE ORDERs are too big of a portion and more money. In the end this business is (like many others) lets you pay more to do what you want. I get everyone is short staffed but then the business needs to accommodate. Maybe have the hostess roll silver or accept payments. We used the wait list on yelp which was the only fast thing about our trip to IHOP today. The waitress bless her heart was doing the best she could but not getting the order right, no silverware for 45 mins, no drink refills, and needing to wait 25 mins to pay. We went to the Grandville IHop for the first time in along time last week. It wasn't terribly busy but it took a long time to get our order. The table had not been cleaned real well, neither had been the floor. I ordered the waffle with strawberry cheesecake, bacon and scrambled eggs. My total order was cold, the butter wouldn't even melt on the waffle, the bacon was barely done and the eggs were marginal being cold. They don't serve warm syrup to even help warm the waffle. My husband's breakfast came, sort of warm, but waitress forgot the pancakes. They came when he was almost done with his eggs and sausage but they were hot off the griddle, only good thing. We ordered decaf coffee which hadn't even been made yet, it was 9:00 am., so we waited for a fresh pot. When it came time to pay the bill, waitress said the computer was down and needed to be rebooted so we needed to wait. Needless to say, we will not be going back there anytime soon in the near future, if ever. The only reason I gave two stars is because the waitress was so nice about everything. read more

We usually enjoy coming to this IHOP, but today was bad. We have ordered the hot chocolate here several times and were given a free refill. We typically don't order it when not because it isn't worth the money. Today we ordered and when we asked for a refill we're told there would be a charge. We asked to speak to a manager and Lon and behold the rude woman waiting on us was supposedly the manager. She replies that the many states each. We told her we have always gotten one refill she again informed us that the menu states each. I asked if a 2.39 drink was with losing. A customer and her reply was we weren't the first! Wow, were to even start. Waited 45 minutes for a table in a partially empty restaurant, figured they were short a server as a reason and chose to underseat rather than bad service. Way wrong in my part. We were a party of 5, 2 of which were kids. We waited 15 minutes to put in our drink order and then another 15 to even get our drinks. Waitress was super apologetic. She explained the kitchen was short staffed, they were missing a server and their computer system was continuously going down. She took our order and said it should be out shortly. We waited another 40 minutes before any of our food even began to come out. So practically we have at this point sat there almost an hour at this point. Food starts to come out at a trickle, took almost 15 minutes for all of us to even have our food. Most of our food was barely room temperature and the fruit topping was slightly frozen still. We finished got our bill ($90) and asked to speak to a manager. Another person came over telling us the manager was temporarily unavailable and if she could help. We said no thank you we will wait for the manager, only to jave her turn around to the woman clearing a table behind her and say we wanted to speak with her. Seriously?!?! We told explained to her that at this point we have been at the restaurant over 2 hours and have never had a worse experience. She apologized and explained again they were short staffed and that the servers were being triple seated because they had no choice. She offered us a 20% discount and a sorry. We told her we weren't coming back. We understand things happen and that staffing is hard but to over work your servers at the customers expense is unacceptable. We ended up leaving our server a huge tip as she was busting her butt to do her job as best she could. read more
