Could've been better. If we go to an IHOP, it's usually a different one. That being said, this is the second time we've been to this one. Came here today after a 5k so you know I was ready to EAT. I was in a great mood too. It's a weekend, I just rocked it out on a run, and it's some nice weather. Well..... (-) Our server "Yesica A." had awful vibes from the beginning. One- she came and said good morning in the blandest way and mumbled through her whole introduction. Like MUMBLED through the specials and what we wanted to drink- everything. And then got visibly upset when I asked her to repeat herself. When I say mumbled- I mean she'd win a prize for best mumbler in the whole world. Didn't think it was possible to mumble so well. Dragged her feet with her words. My initial cheerful "good morning" quickly hit a wall and after that I was pretty over this server. Crazy how someone else's mood can affect yours so quickly- mainly coming from someone so unexpected like a server. I swear the nicest I saw her and clearest I heard her was when she gave us the check. Tips don't have the same meaning anymore- like where is the effort even. Otherwise- the place is clean. The food had some significant negatives to it as well. Not with my meal but with my husband's. Here's what we had: Entree: - World Famous Pancake Combo: I chose the Protein Power pancakes, egg whites, turkey bacon, and it came with hash browns. Pretty good and tasted clean. I personally enjoyed it! - Chicken Fajita Anytime Tacos: My husband had these and they were awful. The chicken was dry and rubbery with a bluish color to it. He had to remove it which is sad given the fact that it's an integral part of this CHICKEN fajita taco. The taco was also oozing oil. The most disappointing part of it was that there was something that looked like a bacon piece in it. We don't eat pork. And given the fact that we ordered CHICKEN fajita tacos you wouldn't think you'd see anything like it inside but wow.. surprise surprise. Now do we know for sure if it was pork bacon or turkey bacon- no. Does it matter- maybe. What matters the most: the fact that it was in there in the first place. Cross-contamination much?! Also, another major thing was that we found a hair in the taco. Safe to say he was not able to finish his meal. Also, the salt had black particles in it. I didn't use it- but this was definitely worth noting because as much as I'd like to believe they filled a black pepper shaker with salt instead- it could also be the alternative. Not a good look nonetheless. I don't often do chain restaurants- I like to support local restaurants the most. But it's crazy- you'd think higher standards with a chain restaurant but unfortunately this is not true. The standards seem to vary between location too because I will say shoutout to IHOP Lindenhurst and IHOP Commack. Won't be back to this location. read more

While visiting family on Long Island, my wife and I decided to have breakfast at this location, as it close to the hotel we were staying. Upon arrival, we found this location very busy but the parking lot was large. The coffee here was extremely good. My wife ordered pancakes and I ordered the Big Breakfast Burrito. Our server was professional and courteous. The dining room was clean and not overly loud which was a surprise seeing how crowded it was. The food was served hot and delicious. read more

Food is ok, for a place that is house of pancakes. the pancakes are not the greatest but the service is terrible. The general manager needs to staff her place with more competent people. I went there and one server looked like a slob, another had his hair up in a bun and anothers hair was all in his face. The servers disappear and when you need something they can't be found. Well this IHOP looks and smells a bit old. Its too dark . They need something to lightening up the place. Overall the service was ok . The food was reasonable for the price. Last time I went there, IHOP was promoting the Rooty Tooty for $ 6.00. I went in and ordered coffee. The server said that they were not part of that promotion. I paid for my coffee & I have no interest in going back. If you are part of a chain, you are either in or out. This place isn't in Manhattan. It's a nice location but their service is just terrible. I try and come back every now and then to see if they've improved but it's always the same with the wait time. You'll be sat down quickly, but then you'll be waiting to see your waiter for a while. The waiter always comes and then disappears leaving you to wonder how much longer for your food. Honestly, don't expect your food in under 20 minutes, even if it's not packed. If it's packed, forget about it! You'll be waiting a very long time for your food. After you receive your food, the waiters disappear again and won't come back until you manage to finally see them appear out of nowhere and flag them down to get you your receipt. A simple breakfast for 2 at a low traffic time in the morning will turn into almost a couple of hours due to wait times, not even the time it takes you to eat, it's sad. Here's the Scoop: I Enjoy coming to IHOP. My family and I Visited here today at the Motor Pkwy location. They are friendly and welcoming. The chef cooks your order to your preference. Waitors and waitresses check on you throughout your meal. They are not overbearing. This location is very clean and the bathroom is also. The manager greets you as well which is a plus. I've come here when it was so crowded people were standing outdoors but they were still trying to make you feel comfortable while you waited. I was hovering between 2 and 3 stars, but I'll give them that extra star. This is a typical IHOP. It gets super packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait. I wouldn't recommend coming too hungry, or maybe pack a light snack in your bag. I dined here this past Saturday morning with my husband. This visit, the wait was only 10 minutes thankfully, but I have waited upwards of an hour to eat in this location before. I usually order the 2x2x2, but I decided to switch things up this time and try a new item. I ordered the Californian Scramble (scrambled eggs with Jack & Cheddar cheeses, salsa, and avocado, served with hash browns or potatoes, and tortilla, toast, or 2 pancakes). I ordered mine with hash browns and pancakes. The food was just alright. I thought the eggs were too watery / runny, and the avocado was overripe. I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone and tried something new, but I'll be sticking to the 2x2x2 on my next visit to IHOP. The hubby ordered a new dish too, the Tuscan Scramble. He liked his much more than I liked mine. I decided to go with the 3 stars (instead of 2) because we had a very good server on this visit. Natalie was very attentive and sweet. She checked up on us to see how our food was, if we needed anything else, and brought us refills on our water without us having to ask. I get short staffing problems but how about plan better instead of making people wait to even get greeted by a waiter. I travel all the way from the south shore to come to this IHOP .... the service here is ALWAYS on point .... the servers are ALWAYS so friendly and polite .... literally 100% of the time!!! I just had an awful experience at this IHOP. I ordered the 2 egg special (2 eggs, bacon, hash browns & toast). We got our meals and I was surprised to see a plate with scrambled eggs, fruit, 2 slices of turkey bacon, and whole wheat toast. I recognized this as their one "healthy" menu item and pointed it out to our server Annette. She promptly reassured me that this was the 2 egg breakfast. I told her that what I ordered didn't have fruit and she grew increasingly pushy, insisting that, "the picture on the menu shows fruit." It wasn't till she walked away that I looked at the ketchup bottle on our table and remembered the whole reason I ordered what I did was for the hash browns, which were nowhere to be found. Luckily for her I was ravenous after a red-eye flight and started eating the food before I could say something. Though she never came back to check on us anyway, so I doubt she would have cared. I often call in take out orders to this ihop and pick them up. They are great with everything from the food to the service. When you call in an order to a restaurant usually there is a miscommunication somewhere along they way, but that is NOT the case here. The only thing id say they could work on is giving some more syrup, butter, ketchup, things like that. I'm sure it's a corporate thing like 2 syrups per order but I usually have to ask a few times. Besides that I'd give five starts. The place is very clean, gives great service, has great food, and most importantly as some who gets take out orders often had a nice big parking lot. I'm amazed at this menu. It lists the calories for everything. A typical pancake breakfast is about 1700 calories. A "healthy" choice is skipping the butter and asking for fake eggs. I wanted oatmeal ...... Not on the menu. They do not have hot cereals. My son ordered choc chip pancakes (stack of four) with bacon served with butter (we skipped the powdered sugar and whipped cream). My husband had the 2 2 2. 2 pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of bacon. Disappointed with the service and food. We went in at 1 p.m on Saturday. We were seated immediately which was great! We sat there for 10 mins before Armando came to get our drink order. He returned right away with the orange juice, took our order, and disappeared for over 20 minutes. When he did come with our food, the eggs were cold. My husband's French toast and pancakes were room temperature. My nutella and banana crepes were hot but thrown sloppily on the plate. Armando did not come back to ask how we were doing. He approached us after I flagged him down for the check and a box. As if the food and service wasn't bad enough, a family with kids didn't seem to mind their children running around the room, jumping on benches, and being annoyingly loud.
