I just walked into this IHOP and there was a chair sitting there that said they were understaffed and we would have to wait 1 hour for food. Then I walked through the place and there were only 2 people and they were hiding in the back. One guy came up to me and said they were closed. But the door was unlocked.... I said I paid online and I just wanted my money back. The guy said it would take 48 hours and he would have to talk to the district manager in the morning (it is 215am by the way). My son and I are sitting here in the parking lot wandering what just happened. Stay away from this place. They took my order online and all I got was a receipt and an empty promise to return my money, $50. Has service really gotten this bad? read more

We love IHOP, but this place just doesn't work for some reason -- not sure if it's a managerial issue or what. Every time I go here, I need to give myself (and my family) a pep talk that we need to plan on our food taking at least 3 to 4 times longer than usual. It's really hard when you have little ones who are hungry. Occasionally, we are surprised, and the food comes out on time. I will say the servers are always pleasant and are trying their best -- I'm assuming it's an issue that could be remedied with more staff? Food quality is OK, pretty much on par with other restaurants in the chain. read more

I honestly have no idea why we come here. It must be my 5 year old likes the smiley face pancakes. Service is habitually slow. Food never right. Servers just kind of hang out in the corner. I would like water to drink. Server brings an orange juice. I asked for water. Server: Are you sure? Yes, I am a grown man, I'm sure I asked for water over orange juice. Got the strawberry and cream crepes. Shows up no cream...isn't that 1/2 of the order.....server: are you sure there is no cream in there..... And you guys want $15.00 an hour. IHOP is IHOP... my son enjoyed his kids meal of cheeseburgers. The waitress was very nice with him as he is super high energy. My meal was OK. I hate it so much when food looks absolutely nothing like the pictures. That is exactly what the case is with the new Hawaiians King menu they have. I was disappointed. But like I said... We made the mistake of coming to this location despite the reviews. We (a party of two with a straightforward, non-customized order) waited OVER AN HOUR for our food mid-morning on Sunday because they were short staffed and the kitchen was "backed up by online orders". Which doesn't appear to be a temporary issue judging by the rest of the reviews on here. Our server was lovely and so apologetic and was kind enough to cut our bill in half, but the problem here is that by doing so, she cut her own tip which is unfair to her because her management's clear and obvious failures aren't her fault! We made sure to tip her the right amount for what would have been our whole bill, but still, management here needs to be fired. For this restaurant to have a (well deserved) TWO STAR AVERAGE? Awful. We feel for the poor servers and staff who have to work here under such mismanagement, and will not be returning. read more

Shortly after arriving, two groups of people who appeared to be waiting for tables got up and left--clearly irritated. My daughter and I then stood at the front door behind two other groups of two for over 20 minutes and were never even acknowledged. Saw 3 servers there, and only 7 occupied tables. I hate writing bad reviews... I'm not mad, but sad and disappointed. I was looking forward to starting the day off on the right foot with a great breakfast. Haven't been to ihop in a while but it was the closest to me. Usually I go the extra 10 miles to first watch but just felt like giving this place a try this morning. My concern started before I was taken to my tables as I noticed 3 tables completely empty of people but full of dirty plates. But I didn't think much of it at the time. As I was seated and my first real shock came from my elbows being stuck the the table. The table was covered with a sticky film. Like someone used a dirty rag covered in syrup to wipe the table. The waitress took my drink order and brought it to me pretty quickly and said she was going to come right back to take my order. She didn't come back for 20 minutes. But it wasn't her fault... Her manager thought it was a good idea at 8 am on a Saturday to have a shift meeting. I was seated in the middle of the restaurant with my earphones in my ears and I could still hear every word they were saying. She was yelling about sales numbers, what they did last week in sales and what they needed to do this week. And the store sales numbers were very low for a restaurant in that location. Definitely not making any money from my experience. She was talking about making sure you show up to work or make sure you get tour shift covered. I could hear and I'm sure everyone could her what was being said. For about 20 minutes there was no staff present in the dining area. They were all in this shift meeting. We could have all just got up and walked out and no one would have ever known. Once the meeting was over all the waiters came back out and still another 5 mins for my waitress to catch up with her other tables before she came by to take my order. I felt sorry for her because she knew she wasn't giving good service to her customers but I'm sure she had no choice to attending the shift meeting. After asking her to please clean my sticky table and only getting a few dry paper napkins. I stoped the manager to speak with him about my experience so far. He came back and I calmly explained him about my table being sticky, he touched it and chuckled, "yeah, it's sticky!" I told him that I was a local restaurant owner and I get it that you can have bad days but I wanted to let him know what my experience was like, how long I was waiting to get my order, and hearing ever word of the shift meeting. I was just trying to help him understand so he could address it if he thought they could make improvements. He looked at me with complete dead eyes like as if he hears this from customers all the time... Once I realize that I just stopped talking. His only response was "would you like me to clean your table". I kindly replied, "I think that would be nice". But I don't blame the manager either... After he left I pulled up their Yelp pages and noticed several similar experiences from guest over the last several months. So I can't blame the manager. He has been successful at getting by in his position without having to maintain any quality standards for his store and employees. He has been successful in keeping his job despite the consistent bad reviews this restaurant has received under his leadership. So who's fault is it then? I believe upper management... I blame upper management at ihop for being complacent in their lack of accountability to their store management. It's unfortunate and it trickles down all the way to the customers. My hope is that ihop would respond to my post with appropriate action to resolve the issues many customers have reported from this store. I would like to give it another try someday but only after they let me know that the issues have been taken care of. I will send an updated review of my follow up visit if they respond to my post with corrected actions. read more

This is a fairly new Denny's that you will not want to support until more time has passed to let the staff learn to work together! Four of us went in this past Saturday for breakfast and our simple order was so messed up that they comped one couple's meals and the other couple tried to eat something since we had waited so long. The kitchen is not the biggest problem although the scrambled eggs had cheese included when specifically ask for no cheese and the toast had butter spread in it but had not been toasted. The biggest problem is the wait staff and servers who do not get the orders to the tables from the kitchen swiftly. All entries were cold and no pancake syrup provided for a pancake order. Terrible experience and what a shame because it is bright and new in a great location but we had a miserable experience. read more

Stopped in for breakfast while waiting on some car maintenance to be completed. Restaurant wasn't overly crowded and I was immediately seated. My server Tiffany came by and took my order in a friendly and timely manner. I got the steak omelette with pancakes and everything came as I expected, definitely met the IHOP standard.. Really found no faults with the location and services, even the bathroom was clean. I will be back to enjoy breakfast! read more

First there was "no cook until 6:30" and then it was a 30 minute wait which would be fine but girl up front refused to sit us. I am beyond confused at what this establishment is doing, I doubt they do either. Save your gas and time, go elsewhere. There's a Dennys up the road. read more

Inside, I noticed the self serve sign in sheet and was preparing to write down my name when an employee popped out of the kitchen and said they would begin seating customers at 6am. Blatant Disrespect/Lack of Service Training; Was sat at a table,and watched other parties arrive and seated;addressed and served; left due to the unwelcoming feeling and lack of acknowledgment. When I called to speak with a manager immediately after I left she explained that the table we were seated at did not have a host assigned and the next shift change had not arrived. I described what the other parties were wearing so that they could review camera footage and the order in which we arrived versus the other parties. It is not my place to tell a franchise how to train individuals to do their job,BUT it is my place to point out the disrespect,poor service and judgment calls on this establishment when it has been inflicted on me and my spouse. read more

We didn't have to wait very long this time to be seated, less than 10 minutes, but unfortunately we had the same server that we had the last time we came. We had hoped that she would be pleasant this visit, but once again she was very put out. It was an annoyance to her to have to do her job. From being very unfriendly not with just our table but other tables she was serving. If anyone asked her for anything there was eye rolls, loud annoyed signs, slamming down things so loudly it was disruptive over the entire restaurant. This seems to be her open display of customer service. She clearly does not like children or young adults, which was also on display not just with my son but with another table of teen kids which had just came in, and they were being respectful mind you. She just doesn't like what she is doing for a living or something. The food was great but the service was horrendous and watching her behavior and treatment of other tables left us in complete disgust. We will not be going back. This place is so bad that even after speaking with one of the so called managers in there, it was even worse. We waited an hour after arriving to be seated and when we were seated, we were not even offered any drinks at all. After been seated for half an hour, I finally walked over to the manager and she had the nerve to tell me that they were taking care of online orders before in person orders. Even the staff told us that they were told not to go to our area, mind you there were other 3-4 tables waiting to order also. Went to IHOP in Pflugerville for breakfast this morning. The hostess went out of her way to be rude. I am sort of used to get this reaction since I have an accent. But, my friend without an accent noticed too that this hostess was as rude as can be. On the other hand, our server did an outstanding job. She was very attentive and friendly and came around frequently to fill our glasses with water. The hostess can over to the area we were sitting and checked with other customers, avoided us completely. She also made no eye contact on our way out of IHOP. I'm not sure who can't read, but It was an extremely simple order, Nutella crepes, no banana and no whip cream. They made the crepes, then they didn't add banana or whipped cream as requested but WHERE IS THE NUTELLA???? I got home, raring to snarf on these beasts, and WHAT?!??? Did they really think I wanted nothing on two order of crepes??? I could have made flat pancakes @ home. Just make sure you check It BEFORE you leave. I was craving their harvest grain & nut pancakes. I live in Taylor, and the closest IHOP is 25 minutes away in Pflugerville. I call my order in (it took 3 calls, as they apparently don't answer the phone when they are busy). I get there 30 minutes later, and the waiter Tre told me that he completely forgot to put in my order. It would be another 10 minutes or so. I checked the bill and he forgot my hashbrowns. He said that would be another $1. I paid my bill. I run an errand at a local store, and am back in 15 minutes. Still not ready. The front server guy (forgot his name) said he would go check on it. Instead, he proceeded to wipe down two dirty tables. Then he finally checked on it. Another 5 minute wait. Finally I had my to-go order AN HOUR after placing it. I am super disappointed that they didn't offer a discount for the snafu or even provide the meal for free! After this horrible customer service, I won't be back. read more

Visited this location on a Friday night, only b/c nothing else was open. It was very crowded, even after midnight. We waited for about 10 minutes, no big deal. Service was surprisingly quick and prompt. Food was unremarkable, I had the BLT, and others in my party had pancakes. I'd give the service 3 to 4 stars, but one factor brings this down to a 1. There were kids walking around with no shoes on. When I say "kids" I mean at least high school or college age. In other words, old enough to know better, old enough to know how gross that is for other diners. Management should have taken control. I can't recommend IHOP. Not any location, but certainly not in Pflugerville. read more

I have been here four times but most visits have been on Saturday/Sunday so you expect chaos. This Wednesday night visit really surprised me... So my kids decided they wanted IHOP for dinner and considering I was working long hours this week, it didn't take much to convince me. Parking lot was 1/3 full so I really expected a pretty quick meal. We walked into an empty hostess stand. I glanced down at my phone... 7:42 p.m. I stand there for 5 minutes and in frustration begged my kids to consider another local establishment. They wanted "breakfast" for dinner so the answer was "NO". Since my heels were killing my feet I sat down on the benches... at 7:57 I stood back up in an attempt to catch ANY employee's eye. At this point I started the timer on my phone... and decided I was going to wait to see who long it took them to seat us. Three tables of patrons exited the building and many employees including a person dressed more "managerial" walked by... not one making eye contact or offering to seat us. I was contemplating calling the "to go" phone number posted on the wall!! It took another 4 minutes before a waitress asked if we had been helped. I told her we had been waiting quite some time and she apologized and seated us. Christine (possibly spelled Cristine) took good care of us. Food was prompt and service was polite and delightful. Had I only had to wait a couple of minutes, this would have been 5 stars but sadly the complacency of the rest of the staff just ruined it! Kudos to Christine. So here was the kicker... a older woman came in with a cane to pick up a to go order right as we were seated. I didn't look at what time she came in but like me, she was ignored. She was a taller women (5'10") wearing a hot pink shirt- you could not miss her! She too was ignored for quite sometime. I felt sorry for her because she looked very uncomfortable, but it also showed me my experience was not a fluke!! This is a IHOP of last resort... period. read more

So we went to Breakfast at IHOP... I have to say it wasn't terrible or sticky like I imagined it would be. The location was actually spacious and clean and we hit the lotto because there wasn't a wait at 10am(probably because the non-heathens were at church). It was what you expect as far as eggs, bacon and hash browns. Hubby did have trouble with cold pancakes, but our server got him some hot cakes when it was brought to his attention. Hubby was also able to score some grits which weren't on the menu but they do have. The food was pretty standard, which is expected. I mean it's IHOP and it's breakfast. The coffee was a tad bit weak which is why the three stars instead of four. We'll probably come again for standard no-frills breakfast. read more

IHOP has really gone down! We decided to go in early Sunday morning, we choose this location because the one on IH35 is horrible. This location is no exception! Our waiter started off nice...he took our drink order, that went well. He took our food order that went well so we thought...he came back saying that the ticket was lost so he needed to take it again! It took a long time before we got our food; my husband asked how long and he responded it takes time with an attitude. The food wasn't as hot as it should or could have been...the butter didn't melt on the pancakes... don't know if it set before it was served or not! The waiter attitude was very moody, wasn't sure how he was going to respond when asked something! I don't know if he was being overworked or tired being that he was the only server in the back, but the service was horrible along with the mediocre food! I hate to give IHOP a low rating because it's so Americana, but this location deserves it. And not because their servers are slacking. I often get home from work around 11pm and don't feel like making dinner for myself so I'll head out to a late-night spot. When I'm feeling especially lazy and don't want to travel to Round Rock for Kerbey Lane, I'll go to this IHOP location. However, after last night I think I'll make the effort to go to Kerbey Lane. Even with their slow service, I could get to Round Rock, eat, and get back home by the time my food is out at IHOP. But like I said, I don't blame the servers, they are always busting their butt when we're there. Every time I'm here on a weeknight at ~11pm, there is one, *maybe* two servers working, and usually quite a few tables. Why? Who sets that schedule? That makes no sense to me. One server working 8 tables or more? Last night is a prime example of every experience we have had: it took ages for us to be acknowledged at the door, then another long while to have someone come by to take a drink order (and by then let's just go ahead and order everything 'cause who knows when we'll see her again), then finally the food came out, we ate, a long while for the check, and an uncomfortably long while to get my credit card back. It just shouldn't take that long for a bacon-and-eggs experience, and at the same price as other venues. It's important to recognize when people are working hard but are defeated. I felt bad for the server who got the $1 from the table of three next to us last night. I have no idea what this location looks like on any weekend or any time other than weekday late night but I can only hope they have more than 1-2 servers at any one time. read more

I like this IHOP - it's still pretty new and clean. I mean, the food isn't mind-blowing 5 star quality. But it's a good place for an early Saturday morning breakfast, especially when you're in the mood for pancakes ;-) It's in the lazy/early morning, weekend-breakfast rotation for us when I want something sweeter than High Country Market or Juarez Rest. & Bakery can offer me.
