The manager needs to get it together if this location is going to make it. My family and I went to our local Mira Mesa IHOP For dinner this evening. We got their about 545 pm. It took about 5 minutes to be seated, at the time they only had 3 tables. So when we did get seated. They took our drink order , then came back and took our dinner order. All was good till then. We noticed about 30mins later that other tables came in and was getting their food. I went to find the waitress. I said excuse me I did order a drink can I get it , and I notice other people came after us and then are getting their food , were is our food. Her respond was I don't know its getting prepared, but you took our order. The person that was in charge came to the table to said that their was a computer problem. Namely came and told us it would take 5 to 10 to remake the order, unfortunately it was 26 minutes and alittle longer . My family received their food and i got my food after my family had finished theirs We were told that she would take 50% off the bill. That didn't happen her manager said no. But the thing what sanded me was no one came by to check to see we needed any refill on drinks. I was a waitress and our gold was to always greet our guest, check on them go back and make sure their cups stayed full. Sorry this is long, but . I drove to San Diego from the Coachella Valley to visit with my son. He took me to iHop for lunch. The restaurant was quite empty and there was only one server (#227) on the floor. I noticed he seemed a bit overwhelmed because after we sat down, quite a few customers came in to be seated. He did an excellent job even though. After the server took our order, it seemed like forever before we got our food. I ordered the California Roasted Turkey Melt sandwich with french fries and water with lemon on the side. My son had eggs, turkey bacon, hashbrowns, and milk. My portion was over $16! I could not believe it! Even though the sandwich was very tasty and the fries were cooked to perfection, I think this will not be something I will do often because I can make the same thing for under $5 at home. The total of our meals with tip was over $40! This high cost of food at restaurants is a sign of the times. The restaurant was clean and roomy. But the bathroom had a stench that smelled like rotten broccoli. I had to cover my nose and mouth until I exited the room. I also noticed that the back door was propped open and I suppose it was to air out that area. But I felt somewhat nervous because with the door open, anyone with criminal intentions could have entered unnoticed. The area where the restrooms are located is quite isolated from the rest of the building, so feeling that way is a normal reaction to the situation. I felt rushed and was eager to leave that area. I am giving this iHop three stars for the cleanliness of the dining room and the excellence of the server, #227. I hope the management sees this because he deserves a raise! This is a good breakfast place for pancakes and omelets. The place is clean and the service is okay considering almost every restaurant out there has staffing shortages. I believe IHOP assigns specific tables for the wait staff so they can only seat people at tables where the waiter/waitress is actually at work. It could happen that they could be inundated with tables to wait on so bring your patience and understanding. The food is really good as it has been over the years. I especially love the Colorado omelette and buttermilk pancakes. And what's really amazing is their rewards program where you can get free pancakes (with earned pan coins), free delivery, and occasional specials! We just went there yesterday but the service was disgusting , waitress is not even offer the water and serve the necessary condiments for the food . We still have to ask and the bottom line we are still eating but the cleaners are walking around to gather the dirty stuff on the table . This is not a restaurant it was like a fast food place. No such respect to the customer, need to train more your people specially the waitress was kind of lazy . The first thing we noticed was the table very sticky and did not wiped it good with windex . My chicken was way over cooked and hard so I asked for some that were not over cooked. After a long time (so long that everyone else I was with finished their food) they brought me some chicken that wasn't that much lighter and so oily the breading was falling off and the oil was sitting on the bottom of the plate. I love this place! I hadn't been here in awhile and today my wife and I came to get some breakfast. Brandy was our server. She's friendly, quick and kind! I ordered eggs, hash browns and sausage. Hostess being a B**** for no reason. Today Saturday February 10th at 11am. I waited my turn until she was finished seating then said Hello! And she ignored me- called someone else & gave me a dirty look, she sat them and then ignored me when she came back. She proceed to greet everyone but me! I stopped a server and asked if I was invisible. Ordered double blueberry pancakes and the blueberries looked like tiny rabbit turds that had been in the freezer for months. The 'double' blueberries were the same tiny things in a weird looking blue sauce that was ice cold. Was given a cold bottle of maple syrup. I'm not sure what was going on but it was not the best experience. There were 3 other tables besides our party of 6, although 2 parties were on the way out. It took a really long time to place our order. Then it took a really long time to get our food. A couple that was seated after us got served first. When the food finally got to us, it was already cold. My hashbrowns were burnt. My mom's pot roast tasted funny. The stuffed French toast tasted gummy and tough. If you like being left alone and you're not starving, then this is the place to go. Our waiter was pleasant enough but it just felt like everyone was working at a really slow pace. We were so hungry that we ate everything anyways so it didn't feel right to bring up that we didn't really enjoy it. Update: 7 yr old nephew and my mom both got sick last night to today. Then a building with a sign that read The Sizzler appeared one day. I recall in my high school days I was trying to gain the attentions of this pretty model who was a friend of a friend. She didn't have any interest in nerds though. I left high school to be learn arcane sciences and she was going to be the next Cindy Crawford. The following years I spent in secret places and at the witching hour incantations were mouthed which brought the machines to life to do my bidding. There were failures. Those dark apprentices with the improper incantation were never seen again. It was also at that time I apprenticed under he who one learned from Ansel Adams. From him I learned to tell a story with images etched in silver. I moved on after I learned all I was able. My incantations were insufficient for the dark lord some referred to as "Apple Computer" but I found others in need of my ability to control the machines. I moved from place to place staying one step ahead of that which was rumored to have been birthed from the machines: "Skynet". I saw her and the Sizzler one last time. The years were not kind to her. She didn't seem happy being preggers and a waitress at The Sizzler. Now the sign has changed to read IHOP. I signed up for the birthday club and I am here for my free birthday meal. :-) I had a waffle combo. Scrambled eggs were good. Sausage was savory with a hint of maple. Bacon was crispy and salty. Everything was cooked perfectly and flavors similar to Farmer John bacon and Jacksonville sausage which I like quite a bit. The waffle was fluffy on the inside and melted in my mouth. Very good with the addition of a bit of powdered sugar. :-) Good place for breakfast when I don't want my kitchen to smell of bacon and sausage for the next few days. :-) The bacon and sausage is much better than Denny's. 6/1/2014 update It was dinner time and I wasn't sure what to get. Fried chicken sounded good. It was amazing. Equal to the best diner fried chicken I've ever had. The batter was crunchy and the spices delicious. Twice in a row now I've ordered a burrito bowl and gotten a burrito. The second was a to go order, so we didn't see the issue until we were home. My husband called a total of 5 times with no resolution. 3 calls just to get someone to answer the phone. Another to be told "it's the same thing, just take the tortilla off." And another to try and talk to a manager, only to be told one won't be on duty until 9 am. No one seemed to really care that it was the wrong order, or that a BOWL was ordered for a reason, leaving me to be one one person in my family who paid for a meal and still has to figure out what to eat. read more

They would serve the table in front of us but walk passed us like we weren't there ! When we were finally feed up , we went to the register to pay for the hot coco. Honestly should've just walked out but ? our server then came up to us asking what was wrong , I told her and she said "I know I'm sorry" . I came in today for Veterans Day as I thought they were serving FREE Red, White and Blueberry Pancakes COMBO to Veterans and Active Duty Military. I waited 40 minutes to be seated and I waited another 10 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge me. I asked to order the free veterans meal and she said they are not participating at this location. I was livid as I waited nearly an hour and I was hungry just to find out they don't support the veterans. I told them they should put a sign outside because there are other veterans and military personnel outside waiting. When I walked out I told others about it and more than half were veterans and waiting to be seated. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and when IHOP launched its seasonal "Trick or Treat, All You Can Eat Pancakes", it was time to drop in for a short stack, or two, or three. Weekend breakfasts here are always busy, but our large party was seated quickly. When we had some unexpected additions, we were allowed to move to a larger table without too much trouble. When it comes to food, my eyes are usually bigger than my stomach, but breakfast is one meal where I can finish everything on the plate. I decided to go with the breakfast sampler with all-you-can-eat pancakes. With two slices of bacon, two sausage links, two pieces of ham, two eggs, and hash browns, and all the pancakes I could consume. Meaty breakfast foods are always comforting and the trio of meats really hit the spot to supplement the slightly crispy pancakes that followed them down the gullet. Not wanting to over stuff myself, I only ended up enjoying 2 orders of the pancakes. Like Mitch Hedberg used to say, "...pancakes, all exciting at first but by the end your sick of them." For the price, quality, and the amount of food, their special is a really great deal. I love how IHOP pancakes have a slightly crispy outside instead of the soggy and dense masses of batter that other breakfast joints serve up. I am very surprised that i havent reviewed this IHOP! I mist have been here 4 times this year and no review? Anyway, we like coming here over Denny's because the family likes the taste better. The only day and time there is a wait are sundays after church. Otherwise, its practically open seating. We ate here to try other items on the seasonal menu and to take advantage of kids eat free from 4 to 10 pm!!! And boy, did my wife like the new items. Outstanding Belgium Waffles! I've been eating breakfast here for over a year and a half now... not like every single day but every now and then I get lazy and prefer not to get my dishes dirty. The service is great and the restaurant is always nice and tidy plus the food is always on point except for that one time... but they had the second stringers working so I can look the other way for that ONE time. What can I say about the menu, I mainly go there for their breakfast, which is the usual eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, pancakes and waffles. They currently have a berries and cream belgium waffle that is soooo delicious, it's the only thing I've ordered off the menu these last three times I ate there. Anywho if ever in the area or just transferring duty stations I recommend this Ihop over the one on miramar rd because the servers here are a lot more courteous and on top of things. When we got here there were just three parties inside the area, one table had just one guy, one table had two ladies and another table had a family of 4 and all these people were already eating so when we ordered we were the first in queue to be served, yet the food took around 30 minutes, to arrive. I mean 30 minutes for 4 pancakes, one cheeseburger and a breakfast combo (it had two eggs, 2 sausages and 2 bacon strips). 30 minutes for all this when the pancake was the only thing they actually had to cook from scratch, while everything else is to be heated and assembled. The restaurant seemed highly understaffed too. I could spot just two servers and one chef who appeared in the dining area from time to time. So 3 people when they have around 25 odd tables, is ridiculous. I know you will judge me when I say I tried the cheeseburger here, but in my defense I went in the evening craving pancakes but got a li'l more hungry so ordered the burger given I did not want to order from the breakfast menu. I know burgers are not their main thing but that does not justify them making it awfully bad. The burger did not have much taste, the patty was just a load of meat with no salt or seasoning whatsoever, they stuffed bug pieces of onion there which were a nightmare to eat.
