Normally I don't go to this IHOP location - it's too crowded on weekend mornings, and the dinner menu is a bit overpriced and underwhelming. But, since I had a coupon for a free Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity combo, I figured I'd use it for my dinner last night. (Breakfast for dinner - what a concept!) I was a bit underwhelmed with my combo; to be honest, it looked a little... plain. The pancakes were very good, though - with the fruit and whipped cream topping, no need for syrup! I had also ordered a side of onion rings as an appetizer - while those were nice and crispy, I wish it was brought out before my order. Although the dining room was sparsely populated for dinner service, my server was prompt and courteous. The restaurant is clean, and just about every table here is a booth... always a plus! There's quite a bit on the menu that I'd like to try, so perhaps more visits for breakfast are in order... just gotta get here early! read more

Went this morning with the 'rents. Ordered an iced mocha,coffee and flavored coffee. They got crepes with whipped cream & fruit. I ordered half sandwich w\ spinach, red pepper,egg..tasty! With a side of fresh fruit, pineapples, melon, and grapes. I devoured the pineapples :P nom nom. They were fresh & juicy! I like that they free refills on the iced mocha Sweet!! Ordered to-go and found my steak barely brown as if it was just starting to cook. Started eating it because I got all the way home starving and didn't want to go through the trouble of driving all the way back, and I get that sometimes people (the chefs) have their days that they aren't on their A-game. Meat started getting real raw feeling as I was chewing. Pancakes also had green specks in it kind of like spotting mold (wish I took a picture). Yes! 4 stars for IHOP! The service we got was fantastic! People need to be nicer with their reviews- it's an IHOP. Period. You know you are getting the same quality food as you would any IHOP, you're not eating at the Ritz Carlton, okay? This IHOP was clean when we stopped by for our breakfast date. I'm guessing these might be reasons why this iHOP only gets 3 stars... I had a few issues with the food & the service - Omelette w Mexican "meat" - some sort of stewed meat - was cold and tasted of OLD oil! Trust me as a chef I know the taste and smell of oil - fresh or about to turn rancid. The latter is something you just don't forget. Harvest Pancakes were tasty but surprisingly thin. I ordered also ordered the Hash Browns - which turned out to be good and crispy. I also asked for Grilled Onions and got onions that were barely warm and still crunchy. I have a problem with this because anyone who orders an "Extra" side or a special request understands that that request will take a little more time. I do. So I don't like when quality is sacrificed because the item needs to be cooked. The coffee was horrible. I actually don't remember the coffee at any iHOP being this bad. Sat on the patio because we had our dogs with us. The patio is very nice. So there you have it...in a nutshell. If ALL you're getting is pancakes - they're safe here. Came here today for lunch with a friend and her daughter we walked in around noon and waited about 35 minutes before we got water I asked to speak to a manager or crew leader and he came to my table with water and looked at me like if it was an inconvenience that I mentioned we had been waiting a half hour for our drinks. Not only that they were not that busy and had another employee there folding silverware but mentioned to me they were slow and behind staff but yet has other staff doing other jobs and not helping customers. The last few times I went to this IHOP location, service was pretty slow and average. But this time was different. I didn't get the name of our server, but she worked the night of 3/24/19 and she was amazing. We were a party of 21ish people that called maybe 30 minutes before. I'm sure you know who you are! Came here for breakfast after hanging wreaths for the veterans, Super large crowd had to wait a while to be seated. We've come to this IHOP 4 times now and our first few times were great, however, the last time we went we were ignored for over 30 minutes despite it being a Saturday afternoon with only three other tables filled. The time we ordered our food and drinks and the time we received our food and drinks were the only times any employees approached us. Our group was coming to this I-Hop once a month even with good and bad service and a few undercooked meals. Then a couple months ago, they had a terrible bathroom odor and we were told they had a plumbing problem. IHOP is just your basic everyday place for fast breakfast. But surprisingly, they have quite a large menu with some items that are hard to choose between. Some items are either a hit or a miss. Here are some of my experiences.. Setting: Many many tables and booths. Bright, clean, and easy to get around. Plentiful of parking. SERVICE: I noticed that the male employees don't greet you when you walk in. But at least we get seated quickly every time. Most I had to wait was 5 minutes. Female employees are always friendly. Food can take a loooooong time to be served. I think they're under staffed. FOOD: Stuffed French Toast Combo $9.95 I loooove their combos because you get to choose a main entree and then get a side of eggs, hash browns, and bacon/OR/sausage links. This french toast was thick, creamy, and delicious. Chicken Florentine Crepes - Chicken breast strips with spinach, mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese and hollandaise sauce. All their omelettes are huge and are worth all the money! This one in particular was delicious. Everything melted together and the hollandaise sauce was great. Swedish Crepes Combo $9.95 The swedish crepe was a big disappointment because there was nothing special about it. Just a small amount of berries and berry cream cheese. Spinach, Roasted Red Pepper & Cheese Griddle Melt - Sautéed spinach and roasted red peppers with an omelette and melted cheeses on grilled artisan sourdough bread. Surprisingly this sandwich was quite yummy. They had a nice grilled sourdough bread with all the ingredients melted inside. Coloarado Omelette - Filled with the savory things you crave -- bacon, pork sausage, shredded beef, ham, fresh onions and green peppers and Cheddar cheese. Enjoy it with salsa on the side. This is another delicious omelette. Everything was tender and soft and melted together. I didnt really like the ham because it tasted kind of like cheap salty ham. Plus the cheddar cheese that was topped was not melted. Just sprinkled. All in all, i recommend getting the omelettes and french toasts over anything else. The manager Maria is very rude. The broccoli given to us was clearly moldy. She told us "its not moldy, it only oxidized in the microwave" she also said that she "understood that we don't look like we aren't there for free food" and only took 1.50$ off the bill for the broccoli with no apology. When told we took a picture of the broccoli she asked for our names and told us any complaint made at that ihop goes to her anyways and there's no point to make one. read more

I'm not one to eat at commercial restaurants like IHOP or Denny's but lately I have been eating breakfast at IHOP put of convenience because there's always one somewhere. I can say I've never had a problem with food or staff any visit I've had. Coffee cup is always full, the thermos is left at your table which makes me happy. You get a variety of syrup choices for your pancakes which are fluffy and really good. Clean and there's always immediate seating. Only thing I can say negatively is IHOP is notorious for their high calorie entrees. Lately I've put my fitness and diet on the back burner and I've been indulging in my Favorite the chicken fried steak, pancakes, eggs and hash browns. My brother and I decided to give IHOP a try after much debate and even a contemplation of maybe going to Carls Jr and getting breakfast biscuits. There isn't really many breakfast spots in Mira Mesa and I usually don't eat at these places for breakfast. It can get a little packed so be prepared. I ordered the breakfast sampler which is your typical eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. It was ok, just like the service but the food did fill me up and kept me content till lunch time. IHOP and Denny's is the only option in this area for a decent yet basic sit down-type breakfast so if you're hungry, you can't go wrong since you already know what to expect here. read more

I hate IHOP. My kids love some of their dishes, but they are always slow and it doesn't matter if I order ahead for pick up or dine in. Tonight was typical. I tried to order online for pick up for my son's birthday. He loves the chicken and waffles. The website was having problems loading and kept doubling up on items. At one point, I had 8 funny face pancakes and 4 chicken and waffles. I eventually got that straightened out and tried to pay. Entered my gift card number, which went fine. Tried to order debit card number and it gave me an error message and said try again or call. Tried again, same error message. Website is not the locations problem. Just indicative of poor costumer service. Thought, I'll just call. Called 4 times and each time, the oboe rang twice, then an automated message came on "Thank you for calling. " CLICK. Finally, drove over. Maybe 15 people in the restaurant. Express my frustration to the hostess. She just shrugs it off and mentions that she had been trying to answer phone but didn't make it on some of them. Order the food and ask how long. She says 10 to 15 minutes. I mean, it's just some eggs and pancakes and they aren't super busy. Go to the Walgreens in the same center and come back after 25 minutes. No food. No one at the counter. 5 minutes later, hostess cones back and says it will be a few more minutes. Here I sit At the desk, 35 minutes after ordering, nearly an hour and a half since I started this ordeal and still no food. read more

I visited this location just this last Saturday. The only reason I went, was because they sent me a Birthday Free Stack of Pancakes coupon. Everything was just fine, as we went in, got seated and ordered. The food came, I had ordered a delicious omelet. I enjoyed the omelet and more-so, the conversation with a good friend. And then the tide turned! As I finished my last bite of the omelet, I noticed two small, human hairs ON THE PLATE! As I stared at the hairs, I considered that if those two got stuck to the plate, what did I actually EAT? The waitress came over and asked if everything was ok. I told her, "no, I'm not going to pay for this dish.". I showed her the two hairs on the plate and she immediately rushed away. The manager came over, after conferring with the waitress. She asked what was happening and I showed her the two hairs. I fully expected her to show some horror, at the human hairs on my plate. Nothing. I fully expected her to offer us the entire meal at no cost. Nothing. In fact, she actually challenged me and said that there was no way for her to know what really happened. That their kitchen is clean and the cooks careful. She even suggested perhaps the hairs blew in from outside and landed on my plate. Even after I told her the hairs were at the BOTTOM of my omelet. She said she didn't want to argue, I told her I didn't either. I was calm and polite, but she was very agitated and said she was stressed. I told her that's her job as the manager. Finally, after two attempts at discounting the omelet, she brought over the final receipt, showing that the omelet was finally discounted. Before the manager could walk away though, I pointed out that amongst all the female waitresses, they all had their hair up in a short ponytail or a tight bun. But, their only male waiter, had long hair, with no hair net, nor ponytail. And....no mask. She said she would "mention it to him." Really, "mention" it. And this was the manager. (smh) Will not be going back there any time soon and am rather disappointed. read more

Decided to stop by iHOP because we all wanted different types of meals. Some wanted breakfast some wanted brunch etc. We stopped by during lunch hour and were quickly seated. Great friendly service and staff!! Food came out quickly and was very well presented. Prices are standard so can't complain! New to the area so testing out places!
