First time that we are disappointed with IHOP. Service was ok and waitress was really courteous. There was just him and the manager on the floor. They made my parents the wrong food and manager offered us to take it home. The right sandwiches came, which were philly cheese steaks, I would say 30 minutes after ordered and the meat was over cooked. Another thing that was really disappointing were the pancakes! The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Ordered the 2-2-2 with a side order of grits. Pancakes and eggs were cooked great, grits were a little runny, and the bacon wasn't crisp. All tasted fine...until I picked up the syrup and a squashed bug fell off the bottom of the container. Appetite disappeared and the rest of my food stayed on the plate. I contacted iHop on May 6, 2017 to order breakfast for one. After trying to call their establishment for over one hour (totaling 30 attempts), I was finally able to make a to go order. I arrived to pick up my order only to be met with something completely different from what I ordered. The restaurant was packed. I asked the hostess about why it took me an hour to get someone on the phone and she informed me that they take their business phone off the hook when they're busy because they're understaffed. I thought that was pathetic because every business should have eighth manpower to cover their hours, especially on a college graduation date. I then asked how long would it be to get the right order and she told me an hour. I was livid. I had already waited an hour and now another one because someone took the wrong order. We would like to report we had a very bad experience at this IHOP. We were very disappointed. Our silverware was VERY soiled and stained and had to be replaced with plastic ware. We asked the manager why it was so dirty, and she made a statement of "Oh it must have been the night shift" and she apologized for it. It took until 10:57am to get breakfast. We were expecting 4 orders, but instead received 3 plates with cold eggs, and incomplete orders. One of our other guests did not receive her ham or grits with her order. When asking the server, Zi about it getting the other plate and missing items , she replied "I only have two hands". A male customer next to us came in after us, ate and left. We still had no food. Fully frustrated, we complained again to the manager who came out both times with a dirty apron(very unsanitary). We were shocked by her appearance as a manager. She apologized and offered to recook the food. We declined since we had been there 1 hour and needed to drive 3.5 hours to Georgia. We also asked for the health rating twice before leaving to finally get a glance at it from the manager who said they are not required to post it in FL and that they have a good rating. As a business management professional, these excuses from the manager are unacceptable. Sensitivity training may be helpful for Zi to learn how to address stressful issues with customers. She also needs to be mindful of her hand being in customers' plates when delivering to tables. read more

Today as I slaved away at my office job behind the stale visage of my cubicle monitor, I couldn't help but feel the urge to have some HIGH QUALITY chicken and waffles to help lift my spirits and make me feel alright about living another day in this cold world. I had a revelation. I can order chicken and waffles for pick-up from IHOP and dive face first into them without skipping a beat of my excel spreadsheet!!! I pulled out my phone and made my order. They seemed to want to rush me off the phone, but they were probably pretty busy, so that's okay. I dashed to my car and put the pedal to the metal so I could get to IHOP before it was too late. I would hate for my chicken to get cold or my waffles to get too old to enjoy. I made it (just in time) and waited in a very long line to be helped. It was pretty busy like I imagined, and it was entirely reasonable for me to have to participate in the line. When I was helped, the staff was friendly in spite of the high volume of customers, and they got me my meal very quickly. Phew! But wait- where were the plastic utencils? I don't exactly have forks and knives sitting around my cube. I asked one of the employees if I could have some silverware, and she obliged accordingly. She was nice. I sped all of the way back to my office, and then I had a startling realization. THEY FORGOT THE SYRUP. Wikipedia even vouches for me that it is appropriate to eat chicken and waffles with SYRUP so why would I want to eat them without SYRUP. This was something that I could not stand for. Instead of voicing my complaints to the restaurant, I ate my meal with honey mustard(like an animal) and just felt a little disappointed that something was so amiss. Don't make my mistakes. Came to this restaurant upon walking inside it was disgusting in the waiting area. A woman from the back came up to myself and husband and we were told to leave because they were really backed up with cooking. There were probably 5 cars in the parking lot at most. Tallahassee has probably the most dysfunctional IHOP in America. It's so sad because IHOP has a great menu but if you can't serve your customers timely and deliver what they ordered, it defeats the essence of going there - too bad Tallahassee didn't have more breakfast alternatives,very sad. read more

We stopped in to IHOP Sunday morning. We all had great meals. I ordered a veggie omelette and my husband order the Western. The meal was great and our server was very attentive. She came back several times to make sure we were happy with our meal. The bathrooms are a little run down, but clean. When we left the manager opened the door for us and asked to come back and see them again sometime. The food was delivered in a timely fashion, cooked to perfection. For a Sunday moring, they were definitley keeping up with the flow of customers, while also giving good service. read more

I had the worst experience at IHOP I have EVER had tonight. First of all, there was no one at the front to wait on my fiancé and I and we waited over five minutes to get a table. After we were seated, my fiancé and I had to wait ten minutes for the waiter to come back and take our drink order. After waiting another ten minutes, the waiter came back and took our orders... My fiancé and I sat and waited 20-30 minutes to receive our food. When my fiancé proceeded to open her utensils to eat, she found her silverware to be DIRTY!!!! We waited and waited for the waiter to come back around to our table, we then asked for some clean silverware. But, HE NEVER CAME BACK?! I then, got up from eating my meal and proceeded to go to the kitchen and told them there was no clean silverware for my fiancé to eat with. A COOK brought silverware and gave us extra and said "HERE, JUST IN CASE" SO.... Just in case those were dirty as well?! I was and still am very displeased. Also, when we were given our food, I was asked if I would like some water, I replied "Yes, please" and of course HE NEVER BROUGHT MY WATER! The manager on duty came out and started taking up dirty dishes... He rolled his eyes at me and asked if my fiancé and I wanted our check which i replied "Yes, we have had horrible service " He simply said that our waiter is not used to being on his own. After receiving this horrible service, I felt sick having to give this food establishment my hard earned money. Came on a busy Saturday, after a soccer tournament . The place was packed, but the wait wasn't too bad (under 10 minutes to be seated). Our server, Letora, greeted us promptly and was very pleasant. Food took a little longer than expected (20-25 minutes) given how busy they were. Was mixup in the kitchen, so not surprised. Overall, a good experience. They suffer a little bit in the efficiency of how the restaurant is laid out, and the men's room could use a little attention. read more

The service I had last night was decent. Our meals were out pretty quickly. The only issue I had was that my drink was empty for a while. Every time she came by my mouth was full. The last three times we have been in the restaurant, I have noted that the smell has gotten worse, the tables are greasier and do not appear to be cleaned well, the carpet does not appear to be cleaned, and the service has become more and more lackadasical. This last visit is our last visit. My guy was insistent that I eat, it was late at night (too late, IMO) and this was the choice. We should have gone to Denny's. Egad. Never again. The waitress was likely very tired, but she definitely lacked enthusiasm. The table was sticky and I had to wipe it. I ordered a couple of eggs and two pancakes and after one taste of the sickly, greasy overcooked bacon, let my guy have it. The pancakes were all right, but the syrup dispenser was sticky and stuck to the table. By the time the meal was over I wanted to go home and take a bath. The pancakes tasted all right, the eggs were cooked to my specifications, but I wondered if I would still be healthy in the morning. We won't be going back to any IHOP in Tallahassee again, they are both in need of a serious deep cleaning in the dining and kitchen areas. Worst of the worst of the restaurants in Tallahassee. I had a gift card to use up. Went early one morning to have breakfast with my husband before he went to work and the first 3 tables we were led to were filty, someone must have wiped down the tables with syrup. We left as we couldn't even put anything down on the tables - they were NOT busy - there was no excuse. I called the manager later that morning to complain and he said he had been out of town and they must have slacked off. He was very apologetic. Thought I would have better luck at lunch so ordered tilapia - not cooked through - raw middle was revolting. Milkshake was milk with a scoop of ice cream - so thin and not even a milkshake at all. and it gets worse..... went to Ihop this morning around 9 am place was not very busy. Was met by a server and was seated promptly. Was asked if anyone wanted coffee. Everyone said yes, server responded with that's great I just made a fresh pot. 20 plus minutes later we were still waiting for the coffee to arrive. Meanwhile, another table of folks were seated about ten minutes after us and also ordered coffee. After the 20 minutes we observed the other table was finally getting there coffee, so we had to wave down the server to reassure her that we still wanted coffee. The response was "I am the only server, look at all the tables" There were 2 other tables with people (2 each) and 2 tables had not even received the coffee order. If the server was so overwhelmed by the few people, why didn't the manager or someone lend a hand. The food is the same but the service is horrific at best and each week it gets worse. Like most businesses when things are not right and there is a constant turn over in staff, one has to look at the management! It appears there is none. Last week on a Sunday when it was busy the manager was repeatedly yelling at the kitchen staff and the whole front room could hear her. I finally asked her whats with that yelling. It was very inappropriate and terrible for the customers to hear the chaos. Somebody needs some management training. read more

Unlike an independent up the road, we are always greeted when we walk in and if the server is busy she lets us know she will be right with us. The pot of coffee on the table also provides relief from the ill trained independent. Breakfast fare is tasty and served in a timely fashion. IHOP beats the other chains in town for food quality and it is obvious that their servers receive some training and guidance far beyond the local mom & pops. read more

Horrible service and horrible management. Long waits, coffee served without creamer and you have to wait ages for it even when the place is empty. Been there a few times, and there's always a terrible experience at this location. Management is notoriously terrible. I was served raw sirloin tips and the manager alleged they were medium rares, which is incorrect and refused to correct this problem. Do not go there, I know I'll never return. read more

Unfortunately this is not the first time I have felt the urge to make a complaint about a Tallahassee location. After several, several disappointing experiences at the Appalachee location, we decided to give the monroe location a chance. Big mistake. After nearly vomiting as we entered the building due to the smell of mildew and grime (probably from the mats inside the door), we were sat right away. We thought this was a good start, but again we were wrong. We gave our drink order to a young woman, then a short while later our server finally came to us to give us our drinks and take our order. I think maybe his cat must have died this morning because he did not smile once, nor did he have any emotion in his voice at any point. Our drinks were left empty several times and nobody checked on us the entire time we were there, except to hand us our food. Our server spent more time sitting in a booth across the restaurant than taking care of us. I had to walk across the restaurant and make eye contact with him just so we could get our check and get the hell out of there. Last time we had a bad experience at the Appalachee location we were directed to the manager who just told us "come in during the day and we will give us our best server, and its hard to find hard workers". Give me a break, its a college town, I know there are kids out there struggling to pay bills that would be more than happy to serve the only table in the restaurant. Someone do something. read more
