A solid IHOP location with all the favorite items served fairly quickly and with friendly service. Parking isn't too difficult here as it surrounds the building in a part of the shopping center that's a bit further away from the other shops. The value you get here is pretty good is plenty of low priced options that cover a wide variety of flavor options. The menu is somewhat limited if you're looking for options that are a bit more savory or have a bit more complexity than the standard pancake with syrup with toppings. With that said, the price here of the flavored pancakes is about the same as what you can expect to pay for 4 plain pancakes elsewhere (most of the time a 3-stack). Overall, in line with other IHOP options and a good place to get a full breakfast at any hour of the day. read more

My husband and I went to IHOP to satisfy a breakfast food craving at night. There were a lot of people at the restaurant for 10:30 on a Friday. I ordered the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. They were warm and delicious. They were gooey and filled with chocolaty goodness and plentiful enough to have leftovers the next day. Craving satisfied. I highly recommend IHOP! read more

Veterans BEWARE! Today I sat down for a Veterans Day breakfast here at this IHOP (Vernon Hills) presented my ID to the server and proceeded to order breakfast. When the check came I asked why my meal was full price the Server said sorry but there is a special menu, I asked why couldn't you have told me before my order, I just received a sorry, yeah Sorry for your Service... I paid for the meal without a TIP and I will no longer patronize this IHOP and I suggest if you are planning to go today don't find another restaurant that is Veteran friendly. read more

We came here for breakfast/brunch due to the all you can eat pancakes special for IHOP's 65th anniversary. You can either do just pancakes (start with 5 and get 2 with each reorder) or you can add all you can eat pancakes to a small variety of eggs/meat entrees for $5 extra. Since I wanted more than just pancakes, we both got the 2x2x2 (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage). Our server was very nice and attentive and refilled those pancakes quickly! Low stars go for the really dirty bathrooms. Like the dirty bathrooms you'd find at a gas station. They looked like they had not been cleaned in days (or even weeks). I'd recommend holding it and finding facilities elsewhere. I was also a little surprised to see that IHOP has become quite expensive. Omelets are in the $16-17 range. An order of 2 pieces of their french toast is about $12 (without any eggs or meat). I feel like I would rather pay these kinds of prices to support a independent local diner rather than a chain restaurant. read more

I didn't enjoy my experience this time around. I express to the manager my eggs smelled funny etc I was still charged for the eggs and even got sick outside of this establishment. I'm very disappointed in how the manager tired to deny my concerns. I will not be back here again. I'm a regular here never experienced this and the manager wasn't even helpful at all avoid any cheese and if your food smells give it back please and thank you. read more

I had such a taste for pancakes so I decided to go to I Hop in Vernon Hills IL I didn't take pictures but the meal was pretty . I had the pancake combo which comes with eggs of your choice hash browns pancakes or crepes etc I choose banana strawberry pancakes ! Yum My sister had the combo with lemon ricotta crepe . The food was absolutely horrible. For being famous for pancakes, they were ineatable. Not Fluffy, flat, no taste. Ordered kids mac and cheese and it was kraft out oof the box that had been sitting around a while. Food was greasy and the server didn't understand English so naturally the order was wrong. I primarily like IHOP for their omelettes and pancakes. Although over time (since the late 90's till now), I have felt that their food quality has gone down (it also could be that my tastes have changed) but I still go to IHOP once in a while. I came here for brunch with my family. I ordered for myself a Poblano omelette and Tres Leches pancakes. Both of my dishes were tasty. The pancakes were decent but not anything wow worthy. They sure looked though. The omelette's taste was good as expected (as far as IHOP like restaurants are concerned). I have always liked their omelettes. This time around, the taste was no exception; however, the portion size was smaller than how it has been in the past. I have had other items at IHOP before (like waffles, burgers, sandwiches) but they just alright. I like to stick to their eggs and pancakes related items. Companies like Uber Eats and DoorDash already charge their own fees on top of what our food cost and the tips will give. it would be nice for once that you guys make sure utensils and at least two syrups are in the bag. why is this so hard to do. We shouldn't have to ask, it should come with all meals. It's not a problem paling butter in the bag why not the other necessary items we need this my only problem like God sake. read more

I hop 4 ihop! I really like you i-hop! The food is warm and fresh. The restaurant is clean and the staff is courteous, The have a wide waiting area because they are usually full during breakfast times and most important the food tastes fresh and delicious. What I really like here is the sumptuous menu and variations that one can try. You can always replace your hash-browns with mashed potatoes if you're in a mood for it :) My fav food here is South-west Scramble, hash-browns, Mashed potatoes(are love....!) and not to forget oreo-milkshake. If you want a basic bland ass dinner, this is the place for you. The fries were cold and mushy, chicken strips were good, macaroni cheese has no flavor & fruit is mushy and looks like it's been sitting out. I give this place a 3/10. The server was very polite and hospitable. The food was not good. It was a simple order - two fried eggs and coffee. Eggs came with wheat toast, turkey sausage and fruits. Turkey sausage was worst ever- extremely salty. Bread pieces were small. Coffee tasted stale. Doled out ~$20 for this. Not worth it. Server was good. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning. Pretty busy, but food came out quickly, we had not silverware till we asked for it, our ham egg and cheese sandwich had a piece of the plastic wrapper on the cheese, out scramble eggs order d idnt have the cheese and onions asked for, We placed a second order for friends that were meeting us, food came out missing the bacon, the Apple juice and silverware. Went for breakfast yesterday 3-30-19 to the IHOP in Vernon HIlls IL. The food was horrible, 3 of us ordered 3 different meals. The waiter obviously had a very hard time understanding English because he was bringing things we did not order. I couldn't eat my breakfast, my handicapped son finished his french toast unfortunately. We had asked for cinnamon and sugar to sprinkle on top, it came with what looked like melted chocolate on it. After tasting it it was melted butter with cinnamon in it. We barely made it home all 3 of us were in different bathrooms!!!! Ruined our Sunday! I will NEVER visit that establishment again, it is NOT safe. BEWARE!!!! read more

Since moving to the burbs, we really haven't done the whole brunching thing like we used it. My kids are so so breakfast eaters, so frozen pancakes heated up in the microwave suffices. Sure, I miss bottomless mimosa brunches, but when you've got two active kids running around, you take what you can get. On a recent weekday morning, we had a chance to go out to early breakfast with the kids. Since it was very early, there were very few people in the restaurant. We ordered promptly while the kids walked around the place while we waited for food. I got some iced coffee to perk myself up. Yep, won't be ordering that again because hot coffee is a tastier bet there. Otherwise, our pancake breakfasts with eggs, bacon, and sausage were pretty good. Both kids ate from our plates. Our oldest enjoyed the concept of a chocolate chip pancake, but preferred ours. It's a lesson for a future visit. The waitstaff was nice and low key. Our waiter didn't seem to mind the whole kids exploring the restaurant. We've ordered takeout from this IHOP before and had the same nice staff. All in all, it's a good kid friendly restaurant for those attempting to eat with kids. read more

This is a short review because we didn't stay here long. We sat at our table for 15 minutes after being seated by a very curt host. She just pointed to a booth and nodded, then walked off. That was the last person that talked to us until we stood up to leave. Terrible service. read more

It's an IHOP - what do you expect? I think the service here was BLAH. We put our name in to be seated (group of five) but two other groups of five that came in AFTER us were seated first. Annoying. The food is exactly what you'd expect - tasty and from IHOP. The pancakes are always tasty and you should be adventurous and try all of the crazy special ones. The bill was cheap once all was said and done, which is nice considering we got milk, juice and coffee. Sundays are not the best day to visit any IHOP as the church crowd gets OUT OF CONTROL and fills this place up all morning. Be prepared for a wait on Sunday, especially after 12 p.m. read more

My wife and I went for breakfast on a weekday morning around 9 AM. There were very few people dining at this time. There's a sizable breakfast menu. I had a skillet, which consists of diced red potatoes (lots of them), green peppers, onions, cheese and two "scrambled eggs" on top. It was priced at $6.99. For my taste, there were too many potatoes and the scrambled eggs were more like an omelette plopped on top. I would have preferred to have the eggs scrambled and mixed in with the veggies. It was served with two buttermilk pancakes or toast. Our waiter was courteous and attentive. They provide a carafe of hot coffee at each table. Our waiter continually stopped by to ask if I would like another cup. As a matter of convenience I may come back and order something else. I think there are better places to eat. The restaurant and its bathroom were clean. Parking is adequate and access is good. read more

3.5 solid stars for this IHOP location. I've dined here several times and have not had any issues. The food is good, the wait staff is good - prompt and efficient and the prices for the food are reasonable. The menu offers breakfast items under 600 calories for those watching their diets. Overall, a good location - good, but not great food. Definitely will be back. read more

When I went up to put my name on the list, the man writing names down was extremely rude to me and my family. The man at the front also made multiple microaggressive comments toward us, which made the experience uncomfortable from the start. The food, in my opinion, was also subpar. I ordered two eggs with bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. The eggs and potatoes were good, but the pancakes tasted strange, and the bacon tasted old and honestly pretty disgusting. My sister ordered the "Factory French Toast," and she said it literally tasted like something that came straight from a factory. My mom ordered the meat omelet and said it was just okay. When it was time to pay, we asked for the check to be split three ways. When we received the bill, we noticed they had charged us an additional fee just for splitting it. On top of that, while we were waiting in line to pay, the employee clearly saw us standing there, yet allowed another man to cut in front of us. There was also a confusing moment when my sister accidentally dropped a few things, including her card and my mom's card. Someone at the front helped pick them up, but then tried to pay using whichever card he had in his hand with a random receipt. My sister had to politely correct him. Overall, the service felt disorganized and disrespectful, and the food did not make up for it. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience for my family.

The drinks were large and I felt they were worth the price. My husband got an old fashioned. To start we got the cheese curds, and when I tell you these cheese curds still live rent free in my mind I kid you not. They were so good, the cheese was battered in a tempura batter with a truffle cream sauce and it made for such an incredible dish! For our entrees we got the pork chop with the brown butter sauces and bavette with a red wine reduction. The pork chop was great with the brown butter you just gotta make sure you mix it up, and the red wine was a bit too salty for me but it was okay because I ended up loving the steak by itself! For our sides we got the grilled zucchini under the snacks option instead of the sides option because I wanted all the fixings. It was a great choice! The fixings really made and I could eat a plate of that and just be happy (with the cheese curds of course). The wiped potatoes were great as well. Now I was going to pass on dessert because I was SO full already, but twist my arm when you tell me the cookie dough ice cream is a must try. It had real cookie dough chunks on top and bottle and the vanilla ice cream was not boring vanilla, I ate almost half of that bowl and couldn't stop. The chocolate chip cookie dough was house made and it was the perfect blend of sweet and salty that tied the whole ice cream bowl together. Can't recommend that enough as well. All in all, we had a great experience! Then the waitress said she would check back and she didn't so I had to get salt myself from the server station which is kinda ridiculous especially when paying $54 for a steak that already has no seasoning which is why they offer free sauces which makes a lot of sense now. When she finally did come back I said it was under but not waiting for it to be overcooked again so reheating it at home with the cold side of mushrooms I ordered WITH my steak. I did talk to the manager after and he was not really helpful or sympathetic and I was really talking to him so in my review I could say well at least management cares but that is not the case here. I gave 2 stars because their drinks are good and the ambiance is nice and the hostess was super friendly and was the star employee after our visit. Also we paid for everything even the cold mushrooms and over/under cooked steak! At minimum also remake my mushrooms or comp them. Would I eat here again hopefully not but it is locationally desirable for me and my in-laws and have lots of GF options so might have to and if I do hopefully they will have made things better.

I'd definitely visit again, as the staff was nice, the atmosphere is cozy, and the sandwich was good, but perhaps I'll be making a different choice in drinks.

Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again.
