Go at night service is great and food is great.their classic burger is really good love pancakes

I understand restaurants get busy and I never mind a wait. But after being told that it was a 30 minute wait at 12 and then another couple Comes in after and they get told it's an hour wait, then another group walks in they get told it's only 15 minutes. They even sat another couple infornt of all of us when we were waiting! They have their wait time all confused. Then the staff proceeded to argue with each other by the window to the kitchen in front of the waiting customers! Talking about " I'm gonna quit" "at least you get paid by the hour to deal with this shit" that is just very unprofessional now matter how aggravated you are you should always be professional infront of customers. After and hour and 20 minutes of waiting we get told it's still going to be a 40 minute wait. As we proceeded to leave because unfortunately I was not waiting two hours, we saw 3 workers in the back smoking and joking! Maybe if they all worked together this place wouldn't be such a mess. We have not had a bad experience at this location. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food is cooked well and fast. Best service we have received in the Yucca area. Staff seem to like their job and take pride in their work. Unheard of in Yucca Valley in my experiences. read more

Finished the half marathon at Joshua tree and went to our closest ihop for breakfast I got here at 9:30 got my food at 11:05, just French toast combo sadly they forgot the bacon for my meal, they also skipped us on their queue when we first walked in and ignored us when we told the staff that people were going ahead of us, we also requested a hot tea and we got a cold tea with t bags. The meal was cold and it was a waste of time and money. Stay away they seem to have issues here. read more

This was a really bad experience. We arrive and they said our party of 5 had a 20 minute wait. After 30 minutes we asked for a status. They said it would be another 45 minute wait because they had 2 large parties and they didn't have enough menus. It was really unprofessional. Don't go here read more

The worst breakfast I've ever had. Bacon was raw scrambled eggs over cooked and pancakes dry. They always put hard cold butter on the pancakes. Maile was our server and she was the only positive experience there. She has a great personality. The cook needs to be replaced!!! Other people were sending food back also. read more

We just came from here to get some to-go foods. I'm writing just to let everyone know that we witnessed one of the cooks there stubbornly refuse to wear a mask while cooking people's food. He was also talking a lot over the foods. This review is for the lady who waited on us at 9:30PM on Wednesday night, 5/22/2019. We arrived thirty minutes before close and asked if it was too late to have dinner-she said we could and seated us. There was one other table with a party of about 10 people seated in the restaurant as well. It was just this server and what clearly was a cook in training. We were impressed at how patient and kind our server was to the cook as she had to repeatedly correct his mistakes and explain to him how to prepare certain things. We were seated within feet of the cook area so we could see and hear most of what was being said. We had to wait quite awhile for our food, but our waitress was very apologetic and never once said anything negative about the kitchen help. When our food did come out-everything was very good. Her patience with the new cook definitely saved our dinner. I'm sorry we didn't get her name, but we hope she gets a big fat raise and a promotion for being such a good employee! read more

RAVE FOR IHOP- Forget the naysayers. They can go eat at Denny's and see how that works for them. For a place that hasn't even been open a month they are doing pretty awesome. This is not fast food, this a place to kick back, relax, and enjoy some good food. Tonight I ventured away from Breakfast to order off of the dinner menu. I was glamping in Joshua tree and stopped here before heading home. Least to say this is the worst ihop I've ever been too. The hostess or manager?was training a teenager who was absolutely clueless and she was such a bitch to him. It was uncomfortable to be there and witness his training go down. Took them a long time to bring our drinks, my poor husband had to ask for his coffee since didn't bring it with the rest of the drinks and then never got to eat since the waitress didn't bring it along with the rest of the food. I have been a fan of IHOP for 20 years in various communities in Southern California. I've visited this IHOP off and on since it opened, for 4 years or so. This is my second visit during the pandemic. The "new" landscape has been let deteriorate. The eggs we had were the real disappointment. Two of us had over easy. The albumen was like water running on our plates. Our guest had scrambled eggs with American cheese. They were a solid lump with some kind of cheese product gluing them together. The butter for his pancakes was frozen. Toast was unevenly toasted. Was that due to a malfunctioning toaster? "How is everything?" a waitress asked. I remarked upon my problem with the fried eggs. She advised me, "Over easy eggs are supposed to be like that. Medium eggs are solid," in her Australian accent. "Not really, no." (I'm 68) "I've eaten a lot of over easy eggs in my time. The albumen should be solid." Maybe I'll try again in a few years if their still open. read more

I would give negative stars if I could!!! DON'T BOTHER STOPPING HERE!! Thought we would stop to eat and wait out traffic on Sunday but it was a complete waste of time! Anyone that reads my reviews knows I'm a stickler for customer service. With that said, I'm willing to look past other issues if I get good service. However, this IHOP IS BY FAR THE WORST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! My son had never been to an IHOP & I thought it would be fun for him to know where my love of Swedish pancakes came from. We were greeted promptly but when I asked to sit by the window to watch my vehicle & trailer, I was told they need to clear a table, which should only take a few minutes at most. That waitress NEVER CAME BACK TO SEAT US AND WE WAITED 10 MINUTES FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO SEAT US! If they were busy I would understand but they only had 4 tables occupied in the whole place. Then she tried to sit us at a table that was blocked by a wall so we couldn't even see our vehicle. I explained again where I wanted to sit so she sat us there but it seems it was the employee area. Marissa was very nice & took our drink order & brought them out in decent time. She came back a few times for our orders & we wound up with the onion ring sampler, the "quick 3 egg breakfast" & a breakfast bowl. Not a hard order. I asked for bbq sauce but she never returned with it. I finally got up to ask for it when she brought it out. However, by that time the rings were cold. I ate one which was cold but ok but the second one wasn't even cooked through & tasted like raw dough. Yuck. I told Marissa when she came back & she brought us new ones that were better. Not great but ok. They left dirty looking oil in the bowl so that grossed me out. Then we waited 40 minutes for our breakfast! It's breakfast, not a big deal & certainly doesn't take that long to make. They were not busy & the manager was sitting there watching us the whole time but never once came over to ask if we needed anything or to find out why our food was taking so long. By the time it came it was so cold that it wasn't even edible. Marissa had said a few times it would be out shortly but it never was. When she came back I told her I wasn't eating it. She offered a new one but I said I don't have time to wait another 40 minutes & hope I get a hot breakfast. My son didn't eat his food either due to being cold & hard. She never brought his toast & it took 10 minutes for her to get it. Who wants cold hard eggs, hashbrowns & toast with the most disgusting fake butter popcorn oil crap on their toast?!?! Why not put REAL butter on toast & a decent amount, instead of one squirt of oily fake disgusting "butter"?!?! Needless to say I told her I wasn't paying for any of it. She said she took off my food & the rings but I told her to look at my sons plate and tell me if I should pay for his food that he didn't eat. I told her I wasn't paying for any of it and she can go tell the manager and if he has a problem he can come talk to me. She did not give me a check, she said she would tell him but No one ever came over. I went to the bathroom & I came back, my son said no one came over so I left a $4 tip, which I shouldn't have since the service was SO SLOW but servers work hard & I'm nice so I tipped her & we walked out the door. Then the manager comes chasing after us telling me I have to pay. I explained the situation to him and told him I wasn't paying for any of it since we are leaving hungry & just WASTED almost 2 hours!!! He told me he sat there and watched us eat. I said my son ate cold onion rings, I picked at my bacon & ate one half piece of toast because I was starving. We didn't eat 95% of our food. He kept saying we did & I said "did you look at our table?" He wouldn't reply but just kept telling me to pay & I kept telling him the service sucked, the food was disgusting & cold & he's lucky I even left a tip!! I couldn't believe how he stood there & argued with me!!! Finally, after he realized other patrons could hear me he said "just go." I won't ever go to IHOP again & needless to say my son doesn't want to either. They were the best when I was growing up. Not too much to get excited about here. Food is good but way overpriced for pancakes and the service is little to be desired. The waitress was efficient however the food was the worst breakfast I ever had. I ordered a meat omelette and all the fillings were refrigerator cold. Forgot the hash browns, the pancakes had too much leavening so tasted like biscuits. In addition the butter appeared frozen, wouldn't melt and tore the pancakes. Only one syrup was available and it wasn't a quality maple, with thin stream of product. My son's breakfast was all cold. Even though we are local will not be going back soon. 2 stars on my online to go order on august 1st, 2020, covid 19: 1. i ordered extra cheese on my "create your own omelette". so when i got the omelette, there was very little cheese, and it was browned and dry like it was overcooked and rolled up. it was not moist and cheesy. i didn't eat even half of it. 2. i ordered regular hash browns with my "southwest scramble" and got chunks of potatoes fried with onions and green peppers. they were good but not what i wanted. the workers there were friendly. it was busy for a coronavirus saturday. read more

Amazing restaurant and crew working 09/14/22. Maille went above and beyond and so did her crew celebrating my father birthday last night. A table of 11 and only a crew of 4 made our night. " Too sexy for my pancakes" made an appearance to present my father his birthday cake and this by far will be the most memorable moment !! We appreciated the customer service and our food was great. Who doesn't love them some iHOP? Seriously. Need a big, hearty breakfast with enough combo options to settle both a sweet and savory tooth on a limited budget? Then you come here. That being said, my experience here was a little depressing. I'm used to friendly, fast service when usually plates come out so fast to the table you can't even figure out how they managed to cook the food that fast.. While it's totally cool for food to take a normal amount of time to get to the table.. we ended up waiting quite a while here both before food arrival and after. It was a busier Sunday morning crowd - so likely that was part of the problem but we had a group of 4 that were sat immediately with no wait. Then we proceeded to wait 10 minutes before someone greeted us officially. It wasn't even who would end up being our server - but she took our drink orders all the same, then again we waited for nearly 15 minutes before our actual server came to take our order - without our coffee / drinks only in the last few minutes coming to the table before her arrival. Once we had our food order in, we waited about 20 minutes before it actually came to the table and of course - only half of us were served with the other half waiting another 5 minutes for theirs to come out. Once everything got there, we noticed a few items missing so they had to get that cooked up fro scratch. So at this point we've been here over 45 minutes with relatively no food or drinks all the while. Odd for iHOP for sure. After we scarfed down our food in about 15 minutes (as we were STARVING) we then waited about 20 more minutes with no one stopping by before we stood up to find out waitress and have to ask for the check manually. Overall, just a disappointing service experience but the food was delicious - so there's that! Final Verdict: Bad service or not.. I still love their food! read more

Have a little patience , this location is a bit understaffed but with that said, everyone has a a good attitude which goes a long way :) our server was Richard and he was very friendly and had great customer service. This was the worst food I've ever had at an IHop. The crepes were like leather with brittle cardboard edges. Served with hard dry scrambled eggs. Hard dried old cooked bacon. Everything was barely warm. The food I was served had to have been left over and slightly reheated from early in the day. Or yesterday. We ate here at 3:30 pm. While standing at the register I saw the cook in the plate pickup area moving pancakes back and forth on plates with his bare hands after he'd been helping the waitress serve to customers seated at tables. My impression of IHop has been forever ruined. :/ read more

The food was not cooked properly, 2/3 of us were nauseas and vomiting the rest of the day. We've came here before and although it's not the first time our experience was bad it was the first we got extremely sick from this place. The service was even worse. We were a party of 3 and were seated after 10 minutes of waiting but even after being seated it took more than 30 minutes to even be asked what we wanted to drink. Meanwhile there was a party of 8 who was seated after us and had menu's and glasses of water laid out for them (yes their order was also taken before ours). A man cleaning the tables kept asking us if we've been helped because he noticed no one was helping us. Finally a server came to take our order and came angry mumbling under his breath "I hate this damn place" "I'm so tired of this place". Needless to say we will never come here again, horrible experience in the restaurant and after. The time before this one we went and could barely order anything from the menu because they were either out or because they forgot to defrost it prior making our wait time more than an hour. Well, we've been back to this IHOP 3 times since it opened and must say, it is officially the worst we've ever been to, bar none!! Every trip we can count on great wait staff, friendly, pleasant and always promising a pleasant experience. Then reality hits...... soup/salad takes quite some time which isn't the case elsewhere, odd. Soup is barely warm, even though the waitress tells us the cook just made a fresh batch....wait, what? This isn't homemade at all, a microwave could've heated it to proper temperature. Dinner comes just moments later, do we leave it to get cold while we eat the salad and lukewarm soup? Taste the food....lukewarm, not hot at all, hmmm. Cranberry sauce with the turkey? Nope, not there. If you want everything that is supposed to come with your meal, you need to ask for each and every item; if you want it at the proper temperature I don't think you have a prayer. Thank goodness there are more and more options in this area.....we will not be going back to this IHOP in Yucca Valley until or unless the management/cook staff is fixed. read more

We came here for 2 meals and it was much better than I thought it would be. However, pretty much anything was better than the Super 8 we were staying just a couple buildings over. We came for a late breakfast/early lunch and Sarah was our server. She was excellent and very attentive to us. We were famished as we didn't really eat dinner the night before and were up late taking Milky Way pics in Joshua Tree National Park. We left Sarah a 30+% tip because of the great service. The food was good. I can't remember what all everyone had, but my husband, our 2 teenagers and myself enjoyed the food. It kept us filled for the day. The place looked clean, no issues. Service was fast. Our food came quickly, was hot and delish. We came again for dinner. My husband wasn't feeling adventuresome with the food. The awful Super 8 was enough, so we thought it would be safe for dinner as we had a great experience for breakfast. They were short handed so service was much slower and we had to ask for some things repeated. Lita was our server and because she was having to attend to too many tables, a tall young man helped out more. Disappointed that I-HOP at least for dinner wasn't staffed properly. That dropped it from a 5 star to a 4 star. Maybe it is normally staffed properly and some people called in sick? read more

This is my second visit to Yucca Valley IHOP since its opening. The service for both visits has been very poor. The server did not check back to ask if I wanted a refill on water or soda. The food took nearly an hour before it was served, and when it finally came, the taste was not good. The omelette seemed to be saturated with water. I would rather save my money and eat at home than pay for slow, poor service and below-average tasting food. read more

Food was okay, but service was terrible. Chris was our waiter and he was very rude and impatient with us. He went over our order twice and still managed to forget to bring out multiple items. The food took over 30 minutes to come out and was decent but a lot of it was cold. One of my friends didn't get his food at all and had to ask for it 3 separate times before finally getting it. Their reasoning for the delay being that they only have one waffle maker. This didn't make sense because the other 3 orders of chicken and waffles came out in quick succession, but also what kind of breakfast restaurant only has one waffle maker. At the end of our meal the server told us we wouldn't be able to split the bill which made it almost impossible for us to pay, but when we eventually did our server Chris became outraged that we only left a 5% tip, which was very generous considering the service he provided us. read more
