Had my car at a nearby service shop this morning and decided to stop by IKEA Restaurant for breakfast. I was one of the first people there after opening. Honestly, it was a pretty nice experience. Empty parking lot, friendly employees, no line, clean restroom -- and you can charge your EV while you're there, which is super convenient. The biggest surprise was the breakfast price. I ordered the small breakfast plate: scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, and 2 strips of bacon. Nothing fancy, but solid breakfast food and exactly what you need in the morning. Price? $2.49. And coffee was free with IKEA Family. I genuinely felt like I went back in time because I haven't seen prices like this in years. For the price, it's absolutely worth it. I wish we had an Ikea in Bakersfield. I'm gonna cross my fingers everyday and include IKEA in my prayers to open a location in Bakersfield haha. IKEA's restaurant is cheap and delicious and if you never tried it then you should. The meatballs are bomb with the lingonberries and mashed potatoes and even the peas are good! There's options for everyone here whether you're a vegan or a meat eater you will leave feeling satisfied. You have a choice to dine in or take your meal to go. I've done both and the food still tastes good the next day. The dining area is huge and there's tons of tables, so you won't have to worry about saving a table because there's enough space for everyone. The restaurant is self serve and it's similar to a school cafeteria where you grab your tray and pick your items then right before you walk out to the tables there's a cashier where you can pay for your meal. I have never visited during breakfast time, but I heard they have a good variety also and it's super affordable just like their lunch/dinner options. read more

Yesterday (3/14/2026, Sunday), I had lunch at IKEA with My Mom & Dad and my brother. My Dad and brother had the meatballs, I had the falafel balls, and my mom had the veggie balls (plant balls). It had been a long time since I last ate at IKEA, and I enjoyed the meal. However, I tried one of the veggie balls and didn't like the taste. The falafel balls were pretty good, and the meatballs were also good. If you pay with a membership card here, the coffee is free, and the coffee was actually quite good. The cornbread here is also tasty, and the employees were friendly. But one thing: some of the trays used for carrying food were very dirty. Also, there were no spoons or forks in the places where they were supposed to be, so we had to walk around and look for them yesterday. read more

Went and grabbed some food here over the weekend. They have a great deal of marinara pasta with four balls (you can pick from any type they have) for only $1.99. Got two of those (one with plant balls and one with their new fish balls), as well as a cinnamon scone and fries. I get fries because they have many good dipping sauces, but honestly, the French fries are really not very good. I wish they had a better vestal for their dips. 2026/02/10: I came here today to check out their restaurant. Once you enter the building, use the escalator to go up one level, go forward, turn right to get to the restaurant. Grab a tray go thru the line, get your food, go to the cashier, pay, go to the dining area to enjoy your meal. Since it was my first time there, I only order the side orders portion to find out which food I like, They had 2 kinds of meatballs, the regular meatballs were lighter in color, the vegetarian meatballs were darker, the meatballs were good, The chicken tender was good with bbq sauce,!the fries were ok, nothing special, I need to add salt next time. The pasta with sauce was delicious. I need to order 2 portions next time. They have a lot of selection of desserts and food, too bad they don't have any beef products other than meatballs, The soda fountain was generic brand but they had diet cola which is my drink of choice, I may try their coffee next time. Not getting IKEA's meatballs is the equivalent of... Going to Costco and not getting their $1.50 hotdog. And/Or Going to a carnival and not getting a funnel cake. Yes! These are not optional suggestions like, "hmm maybe I'll get the meatballs." No!! These are mandatory rules, customs; the actually by-laws of the land of Sweden ;) Cause if there's anything that the Swedes have mastered other than selling you a box of furniture with 3000 parts named something I definitely cannot pronounce.... Accompanied by a scoop of mashed potatoes, approximately 365 peas (not really, but later I'll tell you what is 365), the most delicious lingonberry jam, and the cutest little Flag of Sweden ever!!! Potato cheddar cod, various salads, chicken fingers & fries, cold wraps and of course small plates for the kids. The servings of the Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes were plentiful as well as the servings for the Macaroni and Cheese. My child and I didn't finish our lunch. IKEA Restaurant kept the quality of their meatballs. The Garlic Bread was appropriately tasteful. The toasts were not burnt. The latte was just right. You can taste the espresso and temperature was just right. I like how everything is accessible to the diner including utensils, napkins and additional condiments. I didn't know until recently that IKEA sold breakfast! I needed to go check it out. This location specifically only serves breakfast until 11am. It's the same way you grab lunch and they have cake slices and blueberry & cinnamon scones available to have on the side. I got their Medium breakfast with Swedish pancakes. I will say the potatoes were my favorite part of this breakfast, they were yummy and seasoned well! Everything else was meh. The scone was good. Cute environment and who doesn't love IKEA in general? We grabbed a tray, got 12 meatballs with gravy (options are 4, 8 or 12), Swedish pancake, raspberry cream pastry and a couple of fountain diet colas. Landed in Burbank and after picking up a rental car, our first stop was IKEA for some Swedish meatballs since it's right around the corner from the airport. IKEA holds such a special place in my heart as I remember all the visits through the years as my children grew up. We've had many lunches in the Burbank IKEA restaurant over the years. The Swedish meatballs, always one of the meals that we look forward to. Unfortunately, on our last visit, we had two stark realizations . Those Swedish meatballs are not Swedish at all. I hadn't been to IKEA in a decade, and back then the food was decent enough that if we were shopping and felt hungry, it was an okay meal. Today I popped in just to see how the restaurant is nowadays...and it was an epic fail. I ordered the pasta with veggie balls. The penne was a bowl of mashed and soggy pasta. The sauce had no flavor. The veggie balls were small and room temp. I also ordered a pretzel, which was hard and gross. And, the veggie hot dog was tiny and there's no more pickled topping, just fried onion. For the price I wasn't expecting much obviously, although many meals do range $10+ so you could rack up a bill. The fries were pretty sad. Not soggy but not crispy. What I'd expect for $2 fries The garlic bread was pretty good though. Thick but pretty crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We also got the Swedish Meatballs with peas, mashed potatoes, and lingonberries. The mashed potatoes are perfect for picking up the peas! Nothing was overcooked, the peas were tender, the mashed potatoes were very mashed, no texture, just potato-ey goodness.  This came with some lingonberries. It was nice to cut the other flavors with it. We also got some veggie patties and plantains as side dishes. The veggie patties were good, maybe a bit small, but good flavor. And the Plantains were cooked just right. A little resistance to them, but soft and full of flavor. Had to get a scone and strawberry cake as well. I forgot to take pictures of the cake, but for a few bucks, this is a great deal. Both were a nice way to finish our meal Not a huge menu, but pretty much anyone can find something that they would want to eat from here. It's a cafeteria, it moves a lot of folks through in a polite manner. Serving staff is friendly if you have any questions, but again, it is a cafeteria, so there is not a lot of server/customer interaction. When you receive your food, you head to the car register and pay. You pour your own drink at the drink station and get your sauces you need. The food selections I've tried are as below: Swedish meatballs - comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and lingonberry jam. I've been coming and enjoying this dish for over 20 years. Plant balls - served same as the swedish meatballs, except the meat balls are replaced with a plant based alternate. I actually enjoy these more than the original meatballs. Veggie balls - these are true vegetarian balls with side of vegetables. I didn't like it to much... Garlic lemon cod - served with mashed potatoes, gravy and peas. This is my usual go to selection when I eat here. Salmon fillet - served with cauliflower rice and red pepper relish along with side veggies. This is a provider selection for a very thin slab of fish. It's okay, but I prefer the cod any day. Chicken tenders with French fries - a bit dry but not greasy at all. Nice and crunchy too. Good size chicken strips x3. Fries are good too. Pulled pork sandwich - I didn't like the bun at all. The pork was shredded to the point where Mac and cheese - skip it unless you're super craving it. Meh. They've raised the prices so much over the past few years! Stopped by here on a half-price-breakfast morning, and it was chaos. Even the menu boards (digital displays) didn't show the right menu, so the line moved very slowly because everyone was asking what was being served and the pricing. Oy. Ikea has daily restaurant deals for Ikea members: 50% off all adult entrees on Tuesdays and 2 free kids' meals when you buy one adult entree on Wednesdays. When you scroll down, it gives the terms and conditions (attached). Nowhere does it say that the kids have to be present with you when ordering. I went there today at lunch around 11, and the lady behind the counter (grey hair, mid-60s, 5'5") said the kids had to be with me when ordering. I asked her where it said that in the terms and conditions, and her same response, like a record on repeat, was that kids needed to be present when ordering. She refused to give me the two free kids' entrees. This would be bad for any multi-billion dollar/year business, but it is especially galling when Ikea's mission statement is to support families, make their store welcoming, and their prices competitive. Ikea's statement directly contradicts my in-store experience today. It is also not supported by the terms and conditions as abated on its website. read more

Love eating here! My bf and I don't come here very often but when we do, it's always absolutely delicious. Line is usually long but goes by very quickly. It also had a very open and well spread out seating area so you'll always find a spot. They're also very organized with their tray racks for when you're finished eating. We always get the Swedish meatballs with the mashed potato, lingonberry sauce, and broccoli. Today when we went for lunch, they only had peas instead of broccoli but also had seasonal vegetables which I switched my peas out for. Their garlic toast is an absolute must! Super soft but also perfectly toasted. Suuuuper good with butter! Highly recommend it and they're cheap. The pricing of their meals here are great and the food really fills you up. It feel like you were in a cafeteria and choosing you meal it was very much right away we saw the Swedish meatball and vegetarian meatball we got them both and a salad and dessert and drinks. We pay and look around where to sit we found a table empty then we to eat my wife enjoy the Swedish meatball she they were good and I try vegetarian meatball they were very good I enjoy it very much. I've been going here periodically for several years and everytime it's been getting dirtier and less kept up. The food is good, no complaints there. However, the overall cleanliness of the eating area has been getting worse over time. Tonight it seemed especially bad. Food trays were not clean, empty tables were left dirty and no one was around to clean them. Plenty of employees standing around doing nothing, but no one cleaning. Also, the fountain drinks were not good. Seems the syrup was not working or running out. Everyone pouring their drinks out into the drain. I like going to IKEA but the restaurant has been getting dirtier over the years, the last visit this Saturday was a new low. I had trouble finding clean silverware. The utensils that were out were greasy and visibly dirty. I grabbed a coffee cup - it had red lipstick on it. While eating, I found an old BIC pen cap in my lingonberry sauce. I didn't make a big deal of it at the time, because I like going to IKEA and there are people in my family who would never go back. I'm glad the pen cap wasn't in my two-year-old's food, at least.
