First time eating at an Ikea and honestly it was kinda fun lol. I've always heard about Ikea food but never tried it before, and yeah they're actually pretty good (or at least Swedish meatballs are good). Nothing too fancy here, just like any other cheap mall food, but for the price it's super worth it. What surprised me more was my discovering of the marinated herring - they actually have the types I like. I planned to eat it with onions, potatoes, and pickles like some mukbang videos I saw on Tiktok. This finding made me weirdly happy. Not a place I'd go for a fancy meal obviously, but if you're shopping and want something quick and affordable it's solid. Would come back just for the herring tbh. read more

Came here right before closing on a Tuesday and they were very kind to let us place our orders. The food comes out very fast, and because it was near closing, we sat in the Saluhall to eat. I got the Meatball Entree with a Sparkling Pear drink. The meatballs were fine, but I wished that there was more salt in everything-- it was pretty bland. The lingonberry jam was the only thing that brought some sharpness (or any flavor really). The macaroni was also overcooked, and the side salad was fine. The Sparkling Pear drink wasn't bad either, not super sweet. Overall, it's nice for nostalgia, but I would have rather gotten something from the Saluhall. read more

We entered street level through Saluhall food court & took the up escalator to level 2 and headed into the store. On the 2d floor we realized there's a Saluhall food court extension so we exited the store. Saw there's a counter 3 window for the IKEA restaurant. Good design as you can order food from IKEA without actually stepping foot into the store. We placed an order at the touch screen kiosk - strawberry vanilla softee. I'm rating this based on fast food. I ordered the veggie dog and the kids' Mac and cheese. It was $6.50. I may have messed up my order because I got two double veggie dogs and the Mac and cheese. I got the .25 toppings for the dog. It was filling, flavorless, and fine. The bathrooms have a code and everything is clean. It's quiet and it's a good place to just sit without the energy of downtown. I've gotten the frozen ice cream before and it is also flavorless. If you go to expect delicious food, you aren't going to get that. If you go, expecting to get a meal that is filling, not fried, not a ton of calories, and under $10, then you got everything out of your meal. read more

Nothing tooo spectacular about this ikea restaurant. Unlike the Mountain View / Palo Alto IKEA, the menu is very limited and is made to order. I got the $5 breakfast plate which is actually cheap and filling for SF! Be warned however, you'll wait up to 20minutes for some eggs, bacon, potatos & 'pancakes' when other locations will serve this in a cafeteria style service. I assume there isn't a self serve cafeteria section solely because of the location; I'd imagine there being tons of stolen Swedish meatballs. read more

Now I know why the actors in Ingmar Bergman's films look so depressed. They must've gone to IKEA for their meal breaks. I finally tried the cafe on the second floor on a quiet weekday, and while there were few customers in the store itself, the cafe was busy. It appeared to be doubling as an employee cafeteria. No problem with that except most of the tables were taken by individual diners. I decided to get what I presume to be their most popular plate, the $9.99 Swedish Meatballs. You get eight with a standard order, and while I know there are devotees of these spherical bites, I have to say they get a big meh from me. I know IKEA's cafeteria-style food, especially the meatballs, has its fans, but I have to say I was underwhelmed. The next time I ever get a shelving unit, I'll probably go elsewhere to eat. Nice to visit the restaurant for a break after abit of shopping. The menu is simple and ordering from the kiosk is straightforward. Must remember to scan your membership barcode before you order. If you don't have the App, you'll find the barcode at the end of an Ikea email. Tea and coffee are always free for members. I love the quick snacks such as the hotdog, ice cream of meatball entree. The place is clean and bright. Staff can be helpful. Restrooms are available. read more

We stopped by the food court while window shopping at this Ikea on Market St. and tried the plant balls with mashed potatoes and peas for a snack. This was my first time trying the plant balls with they were pretty good and well-seasoned. I actually think the plant balls are better than the traditional meatballs and it went well with all the sides. It reminded me of a Swedish thanksgiving dinner! read more

I finally figured out how to order using their big Ipad. I got two slices of smoked salmon, comes with salad, tiny salad dressing, potato salad. It was delicious. Very lite lunch for $10. Cannot beat it. I got my protein and greens. It was saran wrapped and came from the displayed refrigerator. I got hot tea and used the lemon that came with the entree and made lemon tea. Great lunch. Came at 11:15 am and I was the 2nd diner. I know im not being consistent with the stars. The place was clean. The staff gave me the code to the restroom. Restroom was clean. Salmon was not super salty. I got a free tea for being an Ikea member. I food came out in two minutes. read more

Came by IKEAs Swedish deli to have lunch because who doesn't love their meatballs?! Their meatballs meal is a must try which comes with 8 Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, cream sauce, lingonberrys, side salad and a soft drink for $15.19. Cinnamon roll was rock hard, inedible, cold, indigestible. Peas are bland but digestible. Vanilla yogurt is just vanilla ice cream. The strawberry yogurt is good but not strawberry yogurt. showed up around 5pm on a Sunday and they were out of almost everything. you can only order on these touchscreens and only one was functional, so there was a line. after waiting a while, i discovered the only things they were still serving were drinks, fish, and hot dogs. that said, the plant based meatballs are great! not the veggie balls, you'll want to avoid those. confusingly they used to have a "veggie dog" but seem to have replaced it with a "plant-based dog" which is less good. whereas the veggie dog had a hearty texture and actual veggies in it, the plant-based dog is basically indistinguishable from a normal hot dog. on the bright side, the prices are super cheap (like $3 for a hot dog and drink) and you can always go across the hall to the Saluhall food court if they are out of stuff. read more

It's the cheapest place in the area for breakfast. You get what you pay for. The staff is nice and helpful. The food was cold even though I was first but like I said, you get what you pay for. Definitely better than a bagel outside. My only wish was that the food wasn't so cold. read more
