Decided to stop here due to a late evening flight. It was a great choice near the airport despite being located inside a hotel. Our service was fantastic. We have the meatballs a try to start, three decent sized meatballs arrive nice and hot. The flavor on the sauce . While we were sad they were out of eggplant park that evening. We tried the bolognese and chicken parm. We greatly enjoy both dishes, portions were hearty, and we will plan to be back to try other dishes. For those with larger groups, they have an awesomely large table to accommodate 10+. read more

We had a late dinner at Il Falò on a less busy Tuesday night. The food was good as was the atmosphere. However, the service was a little slow and could have been more attentive. Drinks went un-refilled for a little too long in my opinion. The servers were certainly pleasant, but for a slow time where there were not many customers in the restaurant, I would expect better attention from the servers. read more

In full disclosure, we were here for a special event with a local dining discount club. Our offer included two cocktails and a buffet of hors d'oeuvres. The staff were very friendly and personable, checking on us and constantly refreshing items on the buffet. It was a little confusing until we figured out that we had to go to the bar to redeem our drink tickets, instead of having the staff take our drink orders. The dining room is open and bright, with a view to the kitchen. I think I read that every food item here goes through their oven, and that they are affiliated with a James Bear Award-winning chef. There were several standouts including pizza, arancini and meatballs, but the sample of olive oil cake was divine. It looks like they have Sunday brunch as well. I'm adding a star in this review for our server in this restaurant. My companion and I are women in our 60s and it is unusual for me to be treated well in an upscale restaurant at all, never mind one in a new, fancy hotel that has as its claim to fame development "in collaboration with" a James Beard award-winning chef, though that was over 15 years ago. It is an attractive space, though it's clear that if crowded, it can get noisy. It's in the new Westin hotel at the far end of the Brier Creek complex, where there is a LOT of construction of yet more ugly old-Soviet-style apartments happening. Seating is not for those seeking an intimate date night, because it is on long banquettes with tables for two (that I guess can be combined for larger parties), or, if you roll that way, very long communal tables designed, I guess, for expense account business people who don't want to sit at a table alone. My companion enjoyed her pizza Calabrese, but it looked pretty ordinary to me. Other reviews cited underdone crust, but this one looked perfectly baked, with a very slight char in the right places. I, however, was disappointed in the Spaghetti Alla Chittara, which I tried mostly because of the house-made pasta. What came out was an attractive plate with a roll of spaghetti in very little sauce. I don't know where the basil was, because I saw no signs of it, just some randomly-scattered watercress on top of a very light scattering of olive oil and grated cheese. Now I know how to cook pasta and deal with the sauce. You cook the pasta till VERY firm, then add it to a pan containing the hot sauce, then add some pasta water, which finishes cooking the pasta and thickens the sauce. And it's not unheard of to put just a bit of the sauce on top. Clearly, this last step was not done, because the spaghetti was not just al dente, but only a shade past raw. It clumped together from being twisted on a skewer, and since it rapidly cooled, I was left with wiry, dry spaghetti that looked the way leftover spaghetti does right out of the fridge. A coating of the good olive oil on the table and a pinch of salt made it somewhat edible (except for the clumps), but for $17 I expect my pasta to be cooked correctly. I'm giving this three stars, because the young man who served us was lovely. He treated us with respect, offered my companion a taste of the wine he suggeted, and was generally what I expect in an upscale restaurant, but rarely experience. Although the food was great, Robert, the front of the house gentleman is the reason we will keep returning. He was well versed on the menu, professional, and attentive. I was very disappointed tonight for the following reasons. 1. food had no taste, pizza dough recipe was good but pizza had little sauce and almost no cheese. 2. I had ordered drink, which never arrived until dinner was almost over. so I canceled my drink, the waiter almost had an attitude for canceling. the bread they serve at the start should have been toasted, it had no flavored not sure how anyone can eat plan white bread, I am what is the concept. Our waiter/bartender Bobby provided some of the best service we had at a restaurant. He was great about the food and drink recommendations. Attentive and kind. I was very hopeful for this restaurant, but was very disappointed... The atmosphere in the bar looked lovely. The wine was good, but we ordered the salmon. It was overcooked and had a after taste. The margarita pizza was so so, and the pasta was overpriced and overcooked. We then ordered a dessert of fried dough with apples. I was embarrassed of whatever it was inedible fried lumps with apples at bottom ??? then it took 30 minutes for us to even get our check. We certainly will not be returning. Ordered food for takeout. Said our food was ready for pickup. We ordered 6 items (about $120). Husband went in to pick up and they had 1 item (pizza). Said there was confusion and they put in the order for the rest of our items and they were going to remake our pizza because it would be cold by the time we got home. Waited 45 minutes for food and when they brought it out asked if we wanted to wait for the replacement pizza--they didn't have room in the pizza oven. We obviously said not because then the rest of our food would be cold when we got home. No offer to reimburse us for any part of the meal. It was our first time at Il Falò and we were so well taken care of. Our server was Kevin and he was AMAZING!!! I couldn't give him a better recommendation, if you come ask for Kevin because he will treat you will such kindness and he's hilarious. Overall the food was also delicious, try their chocolate cake. All in all the ambiance mixed with great food, but specifically exceptional service is what will keep this place on my "Must Go Back" list. Kudos to management for hiring such great people! I thought would have been a great experience being at the Westin, but no. I went the restaurant with a colleague and we were barley greates by a sweet young lady that could not speak good English which had its difficulties but no real issues. We ordered some wings and calamari which took 40min and my wings were burnt. I just sent them back. There were only 5 patrons in the place including me and my colleague. We also ordered a burger and my colleague ordered a salmon which was burnt. I ordered the burger medium and it came out over well-done. Smh. The waitress tried to speak to thw cook and he barked at her. He was horrible and and seemed like he was angry. I spoke to the host manager and she wanted to fix the issue and have us back. I said no and I would never eat there if he is cooking. Such a sad experience. I would not recommend this place if he is there. read more

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an open view to the kitchen. We were staying in the hotel so it was extremely convenient. For a Wednesday night, it was pretty busy. The service was exceptional. Our waitress, Tre, was fantastic. She and other wait staff and the manager, were extremely attentive and apologetic about the short wait for our food. Everything was delicious and worth the (again-short) wait. We felt like they genuinely cared about our experience. When I arrived it was 8:35pm and the ran out of almost everything, but Kira told me what they had available and we made a delicious meal out of pasta and grilled chicken with broccoli. This just might be our new spot! Have been with friends for drinks and pizza (love the Fig & Gorgonzola, and Bianca) and now with family for breakfast. I had their Continental Breakfast buffet which was like nothing you would expect in BC. They had imported meats and cheeses, Chia pudding with blood oranges, pomegranate seeds and edible flowers, pastries, a beautiful array of fruits, and more. My Dad ordered the Lemon Ricotta waffles and WOW! They were fluffy, flavorful, and with the lemon curd...they were to die for! He also said that the chicken sausages were juicy and flavorful. Gregory was awesome! Husband and I went out for a date night and he took great care of us. We started with the clam chowder, which was served with a sesame cracker and it was delicious! The calamari was amazing just like last time. I love it with the lemon sauce and capers. Different than most calamari. The pepper jelly with the arancini was also good, my husband ended up eating almost all of it! They were out of a couple of things we wanted to try (we went a little later in the evening due to work schedules), and Gregory got us the side of mushrooms to make up for it. Came again last evening for dinner and drinks and had the la fiore again and a new drink I added a shot into the honey lavender lemonade and it was a knockout. Our server was super attentive and sweet as can be. I had cacio e pepe and a scoop of passionfruit sorbetto and salter butter caramel gelato for dessert. I wanted to wait 48 before writing this review Isiah was a polite and good server! My review doesn't reflect on him. He properly and appropriately handled a party of 8 women!! I made a reservation at this restaurant approximately 4 weeks ago for a party of 9 After submitting the request the party organizer called me. I asked about a cake cutting fee and if we could spilt the check. She quickly responded with multiple questions that were almost offensive ( has your party looked at the menu? Do they know what kind of restaurant this is? ) I tried to kindly tell her we are in our mid 20's and don't have an extended credit limit to put a $500 dinner on one card. The event coordinator then ask me another set of intrusive questions ( who's hosting the dinner? Who is paying for your food? Usually the one hosting the dinner pays for everyone.) these are all invasive questions and a traditional way of thinking. I just wanted a reservation for 7 of my girlfriends and I to celebrate my birthday. She then tells me they can only spilt the tab on 2 cards. After this phone call I am overwhelmed and worried. Night of dinner The reservation was made for 8:45 3/8 arrive before hand I arrive at 8:54, we are seated I picked this restaurant because on the website burrata is listed on the menu (Went to order appetizers: no burrata on the menu; disappointing) Waiting time seemed to be long By 10:15 I felt rushed to leave the restaurant. Why? Because this coordinator takes off her blazer and begins to sweep the table immediately behind us and has staff collect vacant table settings. 1 of my girls goat chesse ravioli was cold Another didn't finish her food and didn't want to take it, the coordinator makes it a point to question why the food wasn't finished or why didn't she want to take her food. Overall the coordinator isn't welcoming or polite. I had high expectations for this restaurant and was let down. Highly suggest keeping the menu online updated. read more

Wow! Just walked into this place (I'm local) and was turned away by a gruff hostess. Funny thing is she just got there also, so it took her 10 minutes to check with the wait staff and chef to see if they could seat a 2-top. 30-45 mins was best she could do...the place was half full. We stayed at the hotel and ate dinner at our family's home, but coming back at the end of a long day and enjoying a drink at the adjoining bar was something we truly enjoyed. The service is great, particularly from the hostess, Robin, who gracefully swirled around the restaurant and bar, attending to large groups and small gatherings. This is a hotspot! The food must be great because the restaurant was hoping until midnight, same as the bar. When we went to our room around midnight on all 3 nights, we left a very lively environment. If a picture says a 1,000 words this was the pizza they served us... first bit I had a mouth full of flour. Then it was replaced with overcooked and clumpy pasta. The cauliflower was so hard when I tried to cut it is shot off my plate and across the restaurant. the fish was cooked perfectly but the polenta was cold and gummy under the fish. 100% disappointed.
