We walk in for a date night (with a reservation) and the staffer that welcomed us was very nice until he saw an old white guy looking around and the staffer dropped us and catered to the old white dude... SIGH. Turns out old white guy had a reservation but no one in his party was present but he was catered to first.... (Eye roll). So we waited for someone to seat us unsure if the same staffer would seat us, which he did. Our server was awesome and friendly, which didn't quite make up for the low-key racist snaffu earlier. We were seated at this awkward table by the wall circuit breaker (shrug I dunno wth). The bolognese was good and I got the lobster risotto which was okay. The lobster meat was generous but the risotto was just alright. A bit bland and had huge chunks of tomato in it which was hard to eat. The food was overpriced and quality was average but not exceptional. I've been to other similar restaurants that have more affordable prices and better quality food. This was a fun find. We were in town for business, and needed a cozy meal. I found this place on yelp, and I was so happy I did! It's located in an office building. But when you walk in, you're transported. The ambience is warm and inviting. The lighting is perfect. Dark wood, beautiful. They have a beautiful outdoor area with gorgeous lighting. The service was impeccable. Our server was also the bartender, and he was professional, efficient and thought of every detail. The food was phenomenal. Maybe the best Caesar salad I've ever had. I wanted a special meal for my birthday and this 5-star experience did not disappoint. The food was amazing with one exception, the bone-in pork chop. The chop was pounded thin and breaded resulting in a very dry, overcooked entree. The restaurant replaced the chop with aplomb (as well as the glass of wine my sister accidentally knocked over.) To a meal (cioppino, french onion soup, and rigatoni) it was the best Italian food we have had in years. Do not pass up the tiramisu! The menu is impressive with many top-of-shelf choices in pasta and Italian entrees. I had the spaghetti tini ortolano, which was delicious and more than enough for me to take home. She had her usual ravioli stuffed with delicious bits of meat. Salad was a wonderful choice. There's always fresh bread on the table. The atmosphere, while bustling, is still quiet enough to have an intimate conversation. Good wine selection and they come around with a dessert tray because no paper menu could do it justice. We split a creme brulee and took home the majority of it because we were so full. Definitely a treat night to go out. Incredible experience all the way around. In my quest for the best Italian restaurants in Seattle I made a reservation here a couple of weeks ago. Parking was directly adjacent in a parking garage and they do validate for four hours. The restaurant was warm and inviting with an intimate atmosphere. White table cloths adorn each table, and the smell wafting through the restaurant from the kitchen was heavenly. We had the Fettuccine Al Pesto Con Gamber and Penne Salmon. Each dish was perfectly cooked. The salmon was moist with a hint of pink, and the pasta was perfect. The shrimp were not overcooked, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the pasta was incredible. We saved just enough room for dessert and split a crème brûlée. Perfectly done with a beautiful crust and adorned with mint and fruits. Our server, Mike, was fantastic. It's very expensive, so save your money and save this place for a special occasion, or try for a spontaneous table in the bar. I had the rigatoni... The basil tasted like it had just been cut, the tomatoes were sweet and perfectly in season, and the smoked buffalo mozzarella felt like the perfect marriage between burrata and mozzarella. As expected, most of the pastas were made with eggs, but the kitchen was able to sub some dishes with an egg-free linguine. I ordered the Spaghettini Ortolano with linguine, and it was fantastic. There's no sauce, just goat cheese melting into the pasta to create this creamy, flavorful dish that I would happily order again. For dessert, I went with the mango sorbet. First time here, what a wonderful restaurant in Seattle. We were here for a business dinner, this place worked so well with us. We planned for a table of 9 and had to reduce it to six, no problem for them. Our reservation was for 7pm, unfortunately the people sitting at our table were taking their time, no problem for us, as our guess were a few minutes late. Once we were all there we were still waiting a bit, so they brought over some glasses of champagne for us. How thoughtful... We finally got to our table and from there we were well taken care of. We started off with the Calamari, not fried but cooked in a wonderful broth. We also ordered the Gamberoni Provinciale, another delicious shrimp dish. Some of our party order the seafood special that night which was Halibut, I ordered the Veal Scaloppine. Which I will cook at home, so I usually can judge a good order when I eat it. I had a wonderful experience here! I have been to the Bellevue Carmine's quite a bit and fell in love with the ambiance there. I'm happy to report that Seattle's Carmine's is just as wistful and charming and they capture that same magic in the air. I've now tried both their patio and main dining room and loved both! If you have never been my two favorite must haves are the duck (comes with the best cherry sauce of my life) and the pesto and prawn pasta. I also think that Carmine's has the best Hugo Spritz and Espresso Martini in town, just my opinion. Can't wait to come back. The valet is free that sparks a lot of joy. We started the evening off with a couple glasses of wine (Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc) followed by the Bruschetta Trio ( Cherry Tomato, Capers,Garlic Confitura and Basil; Black Pepper, Goat Cheese, and Tapenade; and Avocado, Smoked Salmon, and Crème Fraichea), couple salads (Caesar and Campagnola), followed by the main entrees, Fettucine Al Pesto, and the fish of the day special, Seabass with Risotto and Green Pea Puree. All were excellently prepared. We ended the lovely evening with a slice of Red Velvet Cake and Tiramisu. We will definitely return as there were other items from the menu that I saw on other tables around us that I'd like to try. A much needed updated review from me on this venue. Since I first reviewed this place 10 years ago, I got to visit at a minimum 10 more times for various different reasons and occasions. My initial review on this place was not very positive. I think it was mostly due to the rude personnel that worked there at that time. My experience since has been much much better. The food here is very consistent. Whether you like the flavors or not is subjective but what is impressive is how consistent each dish is. I absolutely love their Costata Di Maiale Impanata (fried pork chop over spaghetti!) and Scaloppine Di Vitello (veal with capers and lemon!). I am also a big fan of their mushroom bisque - which is not on their regular menu but they seem to always offer this soup every time I visited. The prices are actually very reasonable compared to other similar restaurants. Please note though that I have never been here for dinner. read more

My cousin visited from out of town and I hadn't seen her in 3 years. Otherwise I would have complained last night at dinner. I had the risotto with steak bits. The risotto was dark gray and undercooked and the steak bites were full of gristle. I had 4 bites and that was enough for me. Then the one of the service members was clearing the entire table and reaching in our faces while we were still sitting and enjoying drinks. She even spilled my cousins martini and didn't even offer to replace it. The ambiance was amazing but the risotto was awful and one of the service members was rude. We had the bruschetta Trio, it was quite tasty, I wouldn't say it's anything to write home about, you can definitely buy all these ingredients from the store and put it together yourself for half the price. My wife and I would've given it a 6.5/10 (10 being the highest) And to the pasta, I had the fettuccine with pesto and shrimp, it was delicious. I would definitely get that again (8/10). My wife had the spaghetti ortolano, with goat cheese, tomatoes, spinach and pine nuts. It was extremely underwhelming for the price we paid for it. It was very much the same though as the bruschetta, that we could buy this and make it at home. It was lacking in flavor and the spinach was very bitter. (4/10) Overall a nice ambiance, could be a nice experience and delicious meal, maybe we got the wrong things, but I wouldn't rush back to try it again, nor would I highly recommend to my friends or family. Love the valet at King Street, and the 'inside sneak' to the restaurant courtyard. Beautiful outside terrace dining with fire, but we opted for inside since it was our first time. We were greeted warmly despite our 45 minute delay during to 2 games, 2 crashes, and a 405 closure - but we did call twice and keep them updated. Brought to our table with a Happy Anniversary card waiting. Great Manhattan and Prosecco cocktail to start. Dinner was a wonderful grilled pear and goat cheese salad, a nice carmelized onion soup with tenderloin, Osso Bucco with the lightest buttered herb fettuccini I ever remember having, and a capellini de mare with clams and prawns. The capellini had a wonderful almost reduced-cioppino sauce that brought a lot of seafood flavor. Osso Bucco was incredible, and I actually pulled the marrow and tossed it with the fettuccini. The server was really great, and I thought his jokes were hilarious. He also was clear in his communication with us so we knew what to expect for the dinner. I ordered the Gazzosa as my drink, and I loved it. It was light and fizzy, and I didn't want something alcoholic so it was perfect. For food, we got a Burrata as an appetizer. The dish came with some peaches and arugula; it was very delicious and refreshing. I also ordered the large Rigatoni Bolognese. The pasta was al dente, sauce flavorful, and meat tender. I love bolognese and was very happy with this dish. For dessert, I got a cheesecake and it was also very tasty. I actually forgot my leftover dessert when I left. We picked this place from a few articles talking about Seattle's best restaurants, and decided to celebrate my husband's birthday here. The experience was AMAZING! The staff was friendly, professional and catered to my request for a quiet and corner table. The whole ambiance feels classy, warm and elegant. We got here at 5pm and by 5:30 the restaurant already started to fill up. We chose a few dishes from the Specials: Grilled Peach Salad (peach so juicy and walnuts roasted to perfection!), pappardelle with lobster sauce (very generous portion of lobster claw meat!), and saffron risotto with Manila clams (fatty clam and saffron juice coating every grain of rice!). The food portion is generous. We were able to clear all our plates even after eating two full baskets of bread lol. The staff even brought a tiramisu cake for us to celebrate the birthday, which is a really nice surprise. We still decided to order cannoli with pistachio as dessert. It is good but not as impressive as the free tiramisu lol. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend to anyone who loves Italian food in an upscale setting. read more
