Establishment looks clean at first, but when the pedicure lady started taking off my old polish, there were used cotton balls on her tray with another polish removal on the cotton ball. That grossed me out a bit. I went on and sat there. I had acrylic nails that needed removal as well. Let's just say she had foil squares on her tray that were really wrinkled. I sat there not even sure what to do. I think she recycles the foil squares for customers. Overall, nail fungus or lack of cleanliness doesn't give me a good vibe and I won't be back.

Instead of providing the color I asked for, the technician repeatedly tried to substitute multiple different shades and insisted they were "clear pink" when they clearly were not. I even looked at the bottles myself and knew they were different colors. After several attempts to explain what I wanted, another employee came over to assist. They disappeared for a while and eventually returned with a bottle labeled "DND Clear Pink," but it looked completely different from the actual product I have used before. The bottle itself didn't even match the standard DND packaging, which raised even more concerns. What frustrated me most was feeling like my concerns were being dismissed. I knew exactly what color I wanted, yet I was repeatedly told I was wrong. Throughout the interaction, the employees continued speaking among themselves in their language and would occasionally say "clear pink," which made the entire situation feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. To make matters worse, after all of the confusion and after I decided not to proceed with gel polish, I was still charged an additional fee to remove the existing polish. So not only did I not receive the service I specifically requested, but I ended up paying extra as well. There are far too many nail salons with excellent customer service to deal with this kind of experience. If a client tells you exactly what they want, listen to them instead of trying to convince them they don't know the difference. Very disappointing experience.

I recently discovered Yelp on the internet. I find the reviews on the website helpful and sometimes they are entertaining. One business that I have patronized for years is Image Nails located in the Kroger Shopping center at Eldridge and West Little York. The Nail Salon has recently changed dramatically. I no longer see the old owner anymore and a nice lady named Tina, who has worked there for years, has been promoted to manager. The old Image Nails was ok. After Tina was promoted, the new Image Nails is awesome. The old shop was always clean. Now it is spotless. One thing I like about Image Nails is that they do not try to up sale you with extra services. The ladies do whatever service you ask and politely ask if there is anything else they can do. They never try to pressure me to spend more money on a pedicure when all I wanted was a manicure. All of the prices for the different types of services are clearly printed on a menu. There are no surprises when I pull out my credit card to pay. The quality of work is excellent. My nails last a long time and do not chip. Tina still does nails and is the best lady working there. But it is hard to get an appointment with her because she is so popular. I really think she is more than just a manager. She could be the new owner because of the recent improvements to the salon. I noticed that the other ladies clean up when their customer leaves and then Tina goes behind them to clean some more. She acts more like an owner than a manger. Her son recently started working the cash register on the weekends. He is polite and friendly. I read the review about the fish monger selling fish at Image Nails. I don't think that really happened. I have been going to Image Nails for years and I have never seen anything that is remotely similar with what the lady was describing. With respect to the person that wrote the review, I think you were writing about another salon and mistakenly named Image Nails as the salon. When I called to express my concern, the girl at the front desk (who unfortunately never seems friendly or welcoming) told me the extra charge was because I chose two powders. My issue isn't the additional charge itself--it's the complete lack of communication. Customers should always be told about extra costs before the service is performed, not surprised when they go to pay. If you're planning to visit this salon, be very careful. Even if you choose a service from their menu, ask if every option the technician suggests will cost extra. Otherwise, you may end up paying much more than you expected. Good customer service starts with honesty and clear communication. Unfortunately, I didn't receive either, and I won't be returning. Sad they have lost a great tipping customer.
