One of My favorite things about Duy is his timing. I absolutely love that about this nail salon. My appointment was at 2pm and I got tips and toes done within 60 minutes. My nails were clean and bare and my toes were 95% clear. Coming from Gel polish. Which is perfect to me. I left at 3:12pm. Theirs never a wait at Hollywood nails. In need of a pedicure, it was a no brainer to visit them again. Upon checking in, I was surprised to realize I had not reviewed them previously. I was able to be serviced immediately upon arrival there. I was given a list of services to peruse as the water was prepared. I selected the Bath Bomb Pedicure from their list of specialty spa treatments. I was offered and accepted a mimosa to drink during the service as done during my prior visit. The service itself was exceptional. The massage with the sugar scrub was AMAZING! The paraffin wax was icing on the cake. I left there completely rejuvenated and relaxed.

Normally, I would have given 5 stars, but today's service fell short of my expectations. The technician who did my pedicure accidentally cut my big toe. What bothered me most was that she appeared to be trying to clean it up before I even noticed, although I could clearly feel the cut. Accidents happen, but I would have appreciated honesty and acknowledgment. I was also disappointed that other customers were offered drinks while I was never offered one. It may seem like a small thing, but it made me feel overlooked compared to other clients. At checkout, I chose not to leave a tip because I did not feel the service warranted one. A tip should reflect exceptional service and is not something customers should feel obligated to provide. Unfortunately, when I declined to leave a tip, the attitude at the front desk noticeably changed, and I wasn't even thanked for my business. Another thing that stood out was how a staff member was treated. A young gentleman who appeared to be helping with drinks and organizing new polish products was being loudly reprimanded by an older woman in front of customers. The way she spoke to him was disrespectful and unprofessional. How employees are treated reflects on the business as a whole, and it was uncomfortable to witness. To make matters worse, after each service they send customers a survey link to provide feedback. I actually clicked on the survey link intending to leave my comments about this experience, but it would not even allow me to submit my feedback. That was incredibly frustrating and honestly ridiculous. Since I was unable to share my experience through their own feedback system, I'm leaving my review here on Yelp instead. Overall, while the nail services themselves were okay, the customer service and overall atmosphere were disappointing today. I hope this feedback is taken constructively because I've had much better experiences here in the past.

She WAY OVER FILED the tips and the emory board tore up my fingers. Plus she drew blood on my ring finger with the dremel while removing the prior polish. She really didn't ace the shaping of my fingernails, either. Even though I showed her a picture. They're the wrong shape, and are not all cut down to the same length.

I did a chrome color - pricing was not disclosed prior to me choosing the Chrome either (Beware any add-on is charged. You are basically nickel and dimmed for every choice. My pedicure became an easy $100. Onto the quality of my nails. The quality was horrendous. The tech did not go all the way down to the cuticles so my fresh nails with a brand "new set" (I don't use tips and still got charged for a full set ) it looked like they were already a week old. After having the tech redo them to fix her mistake, they still look like shit. The tips of my nails are missing chunks of chrome. I'm not willing to walk back in there because this manicure and pedicure became an easy $215. I have never in my life paid that much for a simple pedicure and nail set. We came to Houston to try something new and expected it to be a little pricier, but I did not expect to give away my first born child. Nor did I expect to leave completely unsatisfied.

However, as I was leaving today, I noticed I hadn't received a receipt so I asked for one. When I got to my car and reviewed it, I saw I had been charged an extra $10 for a "nail fix." That was confusing to me because I came in for a builder gel set on my real nails and they had done my previous set as well. I went back inside to ask about it and was told by the manager that the charge was because I had partially removed the gel from two of my nails. I explained that the gel had started peeling after two weeks, so I removed part of it myself this morning knowing I was going to come get them fixed after work today. My main concern is not necessarily the $10 itself, but the lack of transparency. Three different employees assisted me today between my pedicure and gel set and at no point was I informed there would be an additional charge. When I asked why no one thought to alert me, I was told they "thought I knew." Very odd response for it only being my 3rd time. I was initially excited to find a new nail salon that provided good service and transparent pricing, but adding charges without communicating them beforehand (and then making excuses for the lack of communication) makes me reconsider returning
