I've been going here with my family for years. This trip I was the chauffeur. So many great eats here from cooked food, desserts, and frozen items to cook at home. This place is clean and always busy. There are all sorts of goodies everywhere you look. This trip we bought: 1. Laing: My mom's favorite and go to. 2. Karioka: One of my favorite items here. First bite brings me back to memories of my lola making this at home. It tastes exactly the same. The crunch with each bite and perfect amount of sweetness. The only difference is this is a lot bigger than what my lola made, but so worth the trip. 3. Turon: Perfect size with perfect ratio of banana and langka. This had the same crunchy and sweetness on the outside as the karioka. It tasted like the panutsa that they use not the typical brown sugar or sugar coating. 4. Kakanin sampler: This is delicious. My least favorite was the sapin sapin. It was a little hard and the consistency wasn't ma kunat. A certain kind of chewy texture that I don't know how to explain. 5. Frozen tocino: It seems a little pricey but more than enough to feed a family of 4. This made the perfect tocilog at home. I forgot to take a pic after it was cooked, but the color was perfect. 6. Frozen longanisa: Sadly, this was a little too sweet for us. I'm not sure if it was just an off batch but I think I'll stay away from that for now. We kept adding to our order because we would see something else that looked good. The gentleman helping us was like,"Anything else?" Thank you to him for being so patient with us lol. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back sooner than later.

Another Filipino shop part of the seafood city plaza in Milpitas! It offers both sweets and hot foods like fish, meats, and more. My mom got what she wanted with a large dessert platter for the holidays. It varies from $29 to their smallest platter to $65 for their largest platter. It's a small family shop and service was quick and easy. Can't wait to feast on the desserts!

    Chicharon

I was so excited to go back to San Jose and come back to this place for their chicharon. The first time i had it, it was so good. So i came back for more. Very disappointing. I understand the price increase but the quality just went down the drain. It tasted like they used a very very old cooking oil. Never again. Waste of money!!!

Tocino is a childhood fave for me and moving to the US, it was difficult to find good ones that's very similar to home. So never mind that it's more expensive than the ones at the grocery stores, this one is the best Filipino tocino I ever had. When you fry it, it caramelizes perfectly and the pork is very tender. recommend!

This location is located at the seafood city Plaza. We came on a busy Sunday and luckily they were able to still make us a tray. This is the best place to get Filipino desserts. They also have turo turo filipino.

Came by to get some Ukoy. 4 stars. Their ukoy has minimal batter and plenty of veggies, which I like. But only one shrimp. Wish they had more little shrimp in it. Goes for 4.50$ for one Ukoy but it's pretty filling and comes with garlic vinegar. They also have a variety of deserts like cassava cake (4 stars) and sweet rice desert. Their banana egg roll: 2.5 stars. Was ok. Not the best I've had. Wish it had some jackfruit inside. And the banana was a bit hard and not too soft. They sell some hot foods for lunch - a la cart or part of a meal. I didn't get any since I was not sure what anything was. They had plenty of variety of fish dishes as well.

Platter I bought that contained many items with mold on them.

I'd be wary of this place. I bought a platter of desserts and when I brought it home I found it had mold on many of the desserts and the sapin sapin was hard. Check the photos - see the mold we discovered on the products. I wish I didn't have to write this but someone can get really sick and serving moldy food to customers is concerning.

2023/037 A very quaint shop offering authentic Filipino homemade cuisine and traditional flavorful desserts. We came here to buy Carioca which is a sweet chewy fried glazed balls made out if sweet rice flour and shredded coconuts. Friendly and very welcoming store environment.

Specks of mold on the biko.

Just so happened to be at Seafood City for the first time in a while and noticed this shop. I was excited to see that they had my favorite Filipino desserts, so I bought some biko, espasol and palitaw and they tasted pretty good. The next day, I saw that there was mold all over the biko, so I threw everything away. What a huge waste of money, and it's not like these items were cheap.

We just purchased this kakanin today and they tasted bad "sour". I hope this store check the quality of their before selling them.

We ended up going again the next day to try it. We ordered the Premium Strawberry Sulbing and the Mozzarella Injeolmi Toast. The bingsoo was delicious and not too sweet, loaded with fresh strawberries and a big cheesecake wedge. It's especially great for a hot summer day. The portion size was good to share between two people. The toast was yummy but does have a sweeter taste profile due to the honey drizzle on top. Overall a great experience! We'll definitely be coming back!

Sulbing is a Korean dessert café best known for bingsu, a shaved ice dessert made with an…read moreincredibly fine texture that feels closer to snow than traditional shaved ice. We walked into a clean, modern space with a casual café feel that works well for stopping by after a meal or meeting up with friends for something sweet. The shop focuses on creative variations of bingsu with toppings ranging from fruit to chocolate, matcha, and other dessert-inspired flavors, and the layout encourages lingering over a shared dessert rather than rushing through a quick stop. The biggest highlight is the texture of the shaved ice itself. The ice is extremely soft and light, melting quickly while still holding the flavors from the toppings and condensed milk. We ordered the Injeolmi Sulbing, which showcases the more traditional side with nutty flavors, and the combination of the fine ice, chewy rice cake, and nutty powder created a dessert that felt both refreshing and satisfying. The Tiramisu and Chocolate Brownie Sulbing turn it into a much more indulgent experience, with richer flavors that feel closer to a full dessert than a light treat. The presentation is impressive, with each bowl arriving looking carefully composed, and the layers of toppings are distributed well enough that you get a good mix in every spoonful. The portions are also a major part of the appeal. A single bingsu is easily shareable, making it a good choice for groups or anyone looking for a dessert to split after a meal. We found that sharing worked well, as the portion was generous enough to satisfy two people without feeling like we were missing out. Beyond bingsu, they also offer items like toast and other sweet treats, which give the menu more variety and make it a place you can visit even if you are not in the mood for shaved ice. The main thing to keep in mind is that the experience depends heavily on the flavor you choose. Some versions rely more on the toppings for their flavor, while others feel more balanced throughout. The presentation is impressive, but certain options may feel less satisfying if you expect every bite to have the same intensity as the first. The fruit-based versions, for example, rely on the freshness of the fruit to carry the dessert, while the chocolate and tiramisu versions have a more consistent richness from the base itself. Sulbing is a great spot for trying Korean-style shaved ice. The unique texture, large portions, and variety of flavors make it stand out from typical dessert shops, especially if you enjoy lighter desserts with creative toppings. The balance of refreshing and indulgent options across the menu gives you room to explore different styles on repeat visits, and the quality of the ingredients makes each bowl feel considered and well composed.

Both times I've gone were half an hour before closing and the store was packed. The first time I got the Ha Noi Mist and the Lychee Rose, the second time I got the Ha Long Sunset and a limited stock warm specialty dessert with pandan and ube dumplings in a ginger coconut sauce. The Ha Noi Mist's ingredients sounded the most aligned with my personal preferences and I got the Lychee Rose to try something different but refreshing on a warm summer night. I was hesitant to get the Ha Long Sunset since I'm not a fan of jackfruit but Eric voted for it, and also the dumplings since a ginger coconut sauce sounds weird but he said that's what he wanted. Sipping che through a straw definitely beats spooning it. Make sure to thoroughly mix the drink and crush up the ice a bit before indulging. On my first visit I didn't notice the kiosk and ordered with the cashier so I was confused at how I would know when my order is ready because I didn't get a number or a receipt, but I later noticed the screens displaying that information on the wall. I'm a big fan of pandan jelly. The red pearls can be good but can sometimes have a bit of a crunchy chew in the center. Young coconut has a good flavor but a texture that isn't my favorite. I did not like the jackfruit in the Ha Long Sunset, but the flavor wasn't strong enough to ruin the whole dessert. I feel like che is a dessert that is not necessarily expensive or time consuming to produce, and the milk tea/fruit tea prices here are definitely on the pricey end given their component ingredients. Yes I would revisit, especially when I need dessert late, but I feel that making che at home could be the cost-effective alternative.

They also have boba drinks, ice cream cakes, and ice cream pints too. Make sure to call in advance just in case. For our triple scoop, we got the: 1) Lychee Rose: -Real lychee with rose water flavor. -Sweet lychee flavor with an ending note of rose water. Very elegant and complex flavor and definitely something I would expect from a fancy artisanal ice cream place. Good stuff and definitely recommend if you're a rose flavor fan. Not artificial or overbearing like other rose flavored items. 2) Peach Oolong: -Subtle taste of oolong tea with the sweetness of white peaches. -It's a very Asian inspired flavor and reminds me of those yummy peach oolong boxed teas that you can get from the Asian market. -This was my favorite of the 3 and I devoured this one first (after taking it back as leftovers). Definitely will get this again. 3) Pina Colada: -Creamy coconut with real pineapple chunks inside. -Not tart whatsoever, you get a fresh burst of pineapple taste from the chunks, but it's largely a coconut flavor ice cream with the subtle taste of pineapple. Refreshing, tropical summer flavor. All of their ice cream is super smooth, creamy, with a velvety texture. Even putting in the freezer and enjoying 1-2 days after, still great quality.
