This place is selling expired desserts items. I bought a pack variety of desserts, the cashier told me they ran out of receipt. The cashier was somewhat rude too by the tone of her voice. I ordered a large kakanin platter (Vilma's platter) and for $48 I got a huge, beautiful assortment of desserts suitable for the large party we had. Everything was delicious even a few days later! Came with a generous amount of coconut and toasted coconut sprinkled directly on some. One star for the rude service Justine is her name. Obviously she don't want returning customers and just makes the company look bad.. Customer service is everything and you would think being the first customer right when they open, they would be more hospitable but NO they were just chit chatting in the back didn't even notice we were in there. Great store for food and desert. They have lots of authentic treats. They usually have Sisig, Bilo Bilo, Dinugoan, Tocino, Longanisa and Turon daily. They also have homemade Frozen Longanisa and Tocino to go. As well as Tinapa with different fish selections. They have homemade Chicharon, Macaroon, Pastillas, Casava cake, Puto & Kutsinta, Sapin-sapin, Bibinka, Biko, Suman and more. I was told they have lots of new things and the menu changes daily. The old owner also told me that the new owners make everything themselves and decided to keep the old workers there also. There is a mix of new recipes from the new owners and old recipes from the new owners. We'll see in the future if anything changes. The old owner sold the commercially packages ANAHAW brand Chicharon /pork rinds. The new owners make the homemade style which they make in house by the new owners. Hope this helps. read more

On 6/14/2020, I bought 2 buko pandan salad and went home right away. I put both buko pandan in the refrigerator. We ate the first tub the same day (Sunday) without any problem. On 6/17/2020, I opened the 2nd tub and I was going to start eating it and I tasted it to be soury (panis). I called and spoke to the owner Yasser Abouelkh and explained the situation and he had a very bad customer service with all kinds of excuses just for $6.50. Bottom line, I did not get the money back and with him poor excuses. He said, I should have returned it on Sunday and that was the day I bought it, Monday they are closed. I would have rated them 4 stars as this is my favorite go-to place for native Filipino desserts. We love the suman gata, suman latik, biko, bibingka and turon. The reason I gave 2 stars - I bought paksiw na bangus today at 2:52pm. Put it in the ref when we got home. Heated it up in the microwave for dinner. My hubby was the first to take a portion of the bangus. We noticed the fish meat had red parts! Eeewww! And the paksiw tasted nasty! Obviously our dinner went to trash. So we had to go out to buy dinner! What a waste! Stick to the kakanin! I will go back to my favorite carinderia for ulam. read more

I say that the customer service is bad. The person who was working in the counter this morning has a flat affect and will not go an extra mile to help a customer. I asked for embutido, she pointed to the ref without letting me know which side of the ref. Oh well. I got all the items, then she asked if I needed a plastic bag, I said, please provide one bag for me. She then proceeded to ring me up and finalize my transactions. So I thought she will put all my items in the bag. I stand there for 1 minute waiting for what she is going to do. She turned her back so I asked her, a plastic bag, please. She handed the plastic bag to me, for me to place all the items that I purchased. No thank you or smile, $75 worth for which I could have spent at Goldilocks or Chow King where the customer service is a bit better! read more

UPDATED 3/14/15 I added a star from 2 to 3, as I can appreciate a business (owner) who can take constructive information with the intentions of improving a customer experience . -------- Oh man hate to be the spoiler of all the 5 star reviews. But as 2 stars indicate Ive had better (food) . First of all it was still in the opening stages of trying to look put together. The cooler had tons of plain bagged Torcino and I think the filipino breakfast sausage, but not sure. But for sure the homemade version of filipino bacon. It had cups of beans and pickled vegetables (achara?) The area that held the hot food DIDNT look appealing. It was half filled and I think I saw oil sheen on some dishes. They also had noodles in styrofoam trays wrapped in plastic at half off (it was end of the day) They did have lots of white styrofoam trays of sticky rice desserts, in a variety of vivid colors. It seemed like the stuff you get at local sweet shops. Nothing super new. The last owners had homemade chicharons (fried pork belly rinds) which we liked better. Imas kusina chicharones are harder to crunch and smaller pieces. The previous (family) owner version was lighter, crunchier and more flatter pieces to enjoy. I have to say front person was very friendly and educated us on the dessert types. She was selling us on the half off noodles and the hot (warm) dishes in the silver bins. But sadly it looked old, like the meat sticking out was dry looking. We did buy these finger shaped banana wrapped sticky rice. It was a good bite for a tiny piece of snack to kill a craving. We might stop by to see how they are doing as we visit the shopping center, to enjoy our favorite restaurant. But not runnering to Imas anytime soon, so many other establishments in center carries better desserts. (Can't comment on food tho) read more

I've always enjoyed coming to this store from the old owner to the new one. I like the Suman and Pichi-pichi made of rice. Dec. 15, between 4pm and 5pm, I bought 2 orders of Pichi-pichi rice, I was told that it would take a while coz they're going to prepare it with the coconut. I said Ok. After 15 min. it was ready, I paid and left the store and left Milipitas. When I reached home and started to eat the Pichi2 with my husband, we tasted "mold" I was so sure it was coming from the "coconut" I packed them again and placed it in the fridge. Dec. 16, 12:55 pm, I called the store and talked to a girl named Justine. She seemed to know about the spoiled coconut. I was told, when I come back to the store, just to tell them about this problem and for a refund. No apologies from her though. After a few minutes, I called again the store and asked for the Owner. The lady who answered was in a rush and in a loud voice she was asking and calling for the manager, while on the phone talking to me. I needed to distance my ear from the phone. ( What was that?) Then came in Yasser, the owner. I told him about the spoiled coconut. He was apologetic and tried to explained about coconut's shelf-life and its uses - I said I get it. But since you are in a Food business and dealing with spoilage, might as well check, smell and Taste the coconut before mixing it into another product. I believe it's an SOP. I also told him about good Customer Service since it seems he's the only one who values it. A sincere "Sorry for the inconvenience" to your customers is a good gesture. You see, I live 2 cities away, I told Yasser that I would not be returning those spoiled Pichi2 for a refund. It's just a waste of time and gas. Next time for a refund? I think not, as I don't want to relive this incident either. It's tiring. I was just hoping that they'd be more careful next time. Most of the store staff are nice.
